Don’t stay in this hotell|Warning||As a DJ with over 15 years of experience and having stayed in countless hotels both in Norway and abroad, I have never experienced anything like this before.||I stayed at your hotel from June 14th to 15th. Prior to check-in, I called the reception and politely asked if it would be possible to check out later than 12:00, as I had just completed a 47-hour work period with extremely little sleep, and was heading to another performance in Arendal. I made it clear that I was happy to pay for the late check-out. The receptionist assured me that this would not be a problem and said she would make a note of it in the system.||Everything went according to plan: I checked in, went to work, and returned to the hotel afterward.||The following day, at 12:00 PM, I called the reception to confirm that the late check-out was still in order. To my surprise, I was told that it was not possible. I politely explained that I had been told the day before it would be fine, and asked if they could check the system to see if it had been noted. The receptionist responded dismissively and said, “Do you really want to argue with me about this?” I was taken aback — this is not how a guest should be spoken to. I calmly replied that I was not trying to argue, only to clarify based on the previous information I had received.||I ended up checking out at 12:00 as instructed and mentioned at the desk that I found the receptionist’s tone and attitude inappropriate, and that I would be providing feedback.||Later, I booked a room with your hotel again — only because other hotels were fully booked. At 1:30 PM, I received a phone call informing me that I was no longer welcome due to “my behavior towards staff and other guests.” I find this completely absurd. I had no interaction with any guests, and my only communication was with the receptionist. I left for work at 10:30 PM and returned at 2:30 AM without causing any disruption whatsoever.||Another male receptionist later informed me that it had been noted in the system that I was not welcome due to my behavior towards staff and guests, and that as a private business, the hotel reserves the right to decide who can stay.||This is a very serious and unfounded accusation, and I take it personally. I expect you to take this matter seriously and conduct an internal review — specifically, who entered this note into the system, and on what grounds. I will not accept being banned based on false claims.||If you are genuinely interested in finding out the truth, I hope you will reach out to me. If not, I will consider taking this further — including contacting Agderposten.

During our previous stay at this hotel, we had a very unpleasant encounter with a receptionist who responded to us in a rude and dismissive manner. She showed no interest in understanding or helping with the situation we were facing. When we tried to explain our concern, she interrupted us with a sarcastic: “Are we going to continue discussing this?” — which we found to be highly unprofessional and disrespectful.||Upon checkout, we calmly explained that such communication with guests is unacceptable. We were not rude or confrontational, so this kind of attitude was completely uncalled for.||A few weeks later, we returned to the same hotel. We arrived slightly early and were told to wait until our room was ready. After spending two hours walking around the city, we received a call from a manager who, in a harsh tone, informed us that we were not welcome at the hotel. This happened after we had already paid for our stay.||This raises serious questions: How is it acceptable to treat paying guests this way? After a three-hour journey, we were left without a place to stay, no support, and our weekend was completely ruined. This is not just unprofessional — it’s outright disrespectful.||We also contacted the Strawberry customer service in hopes of resolving the issue, but received no real assistance. Instead, our call was simply redirected to the same manager who had already made it clear we were not wanted. Who can one turn to in such situations?||This experience was deeply disappointing, and we will never again choose any hotels under the Strawberry brand. Not only because of what happened at this specific location, but also due to the lack of responsibility and unwillingness to help shown by their customer support.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, bright, and airy, with a stunning sea view. The breakfast was delicious, offering a great variety. The staff was welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. The hotel is located in the city center, with bowling, a shopping mall, and several great dining options nearby. Highly recommended!

Got hit with a huge ticket after being told I could park in the front lot by hotel staff. I was there for 10 minutes just checking out. Ruined the nice stay I had here. Ticket dispute failed Avoid the parking lot at all costs lol

Amazing experience! Arendal is a really nice place and the hotel is very well situated near the city center and the lake, you can enjoy a beautiful views of it while you are enjoying the breakfast or some drinks at the bar. Rooms are quite new, big, very well sound proofed and with all the commodities. Nice wifi, minibar, heater... I can only say that individual beds could be better because the thin layer at the top usually moves around and you need to fix that so often, but on the other hand the pillows are 😍 I can say only nice words about the staff. We spend 2 weeks there due to a business trip and we felt like home. Thanks!

Wonderful front desk, kitchen, restaurant, bartenders, and housekeeping. The rooms are great and the views are breathtaking. The breakfast is world class! The location is great because it allows easy access to the ferry, parking is nearby, and so are many amazing restaurants.
