An outstanding stay from start to finish. The front desk team was exceptional, warm, helpful, and full of local insight. They made everything seamless, from arranging a bike rental to storing it safely during my visit. A special thanks to the night staff who handled my early checkout with care and arranged an airport cab effortlessly, a true gift when catching a dawn flight. Already looking forward to returning next year.

This hotel is within the old city wall. It has cozy rooms, a cheerful staff and good Nordic style food. Breakfast can be a bit crowded if you're late, but that is to be expected. Getting here from the harbor is very easy and having this hotel as a starting point for exploring Visby would work for anyone, young and old. (If you stay here and have your own car you are allowed to drive your luggage here even if this is inside the old town.) Going to Visby? Stay here.

Room was excellent. Well worth it to upgrade. Water view was great. Very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with many tasty and fresh choices. Only negative is that fitness room is tiny and quite lame. This was a surprise - given how large the hotel is that they couldn't allocate more space to make a nice fitness room.

Woah, it´s getting dark in here. My first impression after opening the door to my superior double room at the Clarion Wisby. The room I was assigned was located at the end of a corridor and was shaped like a long tunnel (significantly longer than wide). And it was dark. There was no ceiling light, only bedside lighting, a light on the table and a light in corner, and a light at the entrance - all had to be switched on and off independently of each other - going to bed turned into an activity! The furniture has seen better times as have the wallpapers and the light switches. Everything creaks , the mattress - well, it was like entering into a deep mountain valley. About 2ft in front of the only window is a hedgerow and the window seems to open towards some kind of interior courtyard. But, this again, does not let much light into the room.||The bathroom provided a bathtub, an on-demand floor heater and a - historic-looking - towel heater.||Wifi reception was veeeery spotty. If i put a chair directly next to the room door, my phone as well as my portable computer picked up the signal w/o a hitch. Moving just 2m to the left towards the desk area I felt like back in the early 90s - either no connection at all or 1 min to load any website.||Btw, while the hotel website shows their pool area and states it was available to the hotel guests, one will find a note in the room that the pool use is only available for an additional fee.||The wintergarden restaurant is located in a glass-covered courtyard and looks spectacular - regardless if you visit for a coffee or for dinner (the original hotel restaurant is closed atm).||Breakfast was average and the area is very crowded - tables and chairs are put that closely that one regularly needs another guest to move if one wants to leave the table.||The hotel is located in a row of buildings inside the historic district of Visby inside the city walls and the quality of your room seems to depend heavily depend on which area of the hotel you are assigned to.||The staff was superb. They listened to all complaints, answered all questions and helped in any way they could.||I would have loved to look back and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel - however I cannot.

It's a wonderful experience to live in a 12 century building and all of the application are modernized. It's worthy of price for testing.

Exceptional stay and great breakfast! The Clarion Hotel Wisby seamlessly blends historic charm with modern comfort. The staff's personal touch made our visit memorable, thank you Erik Cele. Located close to the harbor and perfectly centered in town, it's convenient for exploring. The stunning medieval architecture creates a unique atmosphere. Plus, don't miss the incredible breakfast spread, often touted as the best in Sweden. Highly recommend for an unforgettable experience in Visby!

The stay at the hotel was amazing to say the least. |I will start with the reception. Every person there is extremely friendly and helpful. In particular Erik. I am pregnant and he arranged that I have ice cold water all the time. |The room is wonderful. Very clean, spacious, has a wardrobe and comfy bed. The shower pressure is also really good. There is no funky bathroom smell. |The breakfast is the highlight. It is a really good breakfast. The options are amazing and the food really tasty. I can't even list all the options, there are too many. |On a side note, Erik offered to take my partner and I on a personal trip on the island which I think is really nice and it was not even needed. |I will definitely stay at the hotel again and this says a lot coming from a far pregnant person.

Yelp
Good staff, but way too expensive for what they offer. If you dont catch dinner or lunch at the restaurant at their hours, you can not order anything. Boring breakfast.

Yelp
We had very nice accommodations with sea views to watch the ferries and sailboats go by. The room was very nice. Breakfast was excellent, I did not try the lactose free eggs. Nice dining area for the breakfast. Staff was helpful, friendly and multi-lingual. Will come again!

Yelp
Rooms were small, which is not unusual for Europe. Ours had an upstairs, and the A/C and fan didn't really work; but it wasn't too hot that week, so the open window was fine. Hotel breakfast buffet was ok. Front desk people were nice. Big TV at the bar with the Olympics on, when we were there. The hotel bar, though, had pretty terrible service, and no food. You need reservations for the few restaurants around there, or you're doing take-away. (They didn't understand the concept of delivering a pizza there; the app/site we were pointed to didn't work, and neither did calling them.) There's no Systembolaget (to buy alcohol outside of hotels and restaurants) inside of Visby's city walls; so B.Y.O.B. before you arrive. There's an Avis car rental (not well run) right across the street, but if you want a car, you need to reserve one early. The next closest one is about a mile walk toward the water. It's a nice drive around the island, but looking for the Viking's 8th century picture stones can be a fool's errand; some on the brochure no longer existed, and the one we found was tiny. We didn't get the sense that *anyone* ever goes looking for these Viking sites, even though it seems to be the main attraction of the island, according to brochures. The Visby tourist center said there was no organized tour or bus to take you to those places -- they were puzzled why we even asked -- which is why we had to rent a car. Medieval Festival was that week, and it was ok -- no beer, no alcohol, and only some food. A lot of vendors selling axes, sword, animal pelts, and the same kinds of stuff. But there was a blacksmith stall that was banging out stuff old-school style. A ton of people walking around in costume, incl. a group of chanting monks. Basically, this was a Renaissance Fair, but since Vikings and other medieval things actually did happen here, that makes it ok. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. It's hard to drive inside the city walls, because of super-narrow streets and little parking. The hotel spa/pool has very limited hours for kids.
