On the Grid : The Shops at Eviction

"What you’ll find at this eclectic collective of vintage goods: a pair of funky lamps, a sleek mid-century modern dresser, a life-sized brass Pomeranian. What you won’t find: anything ordinary. Owner Derrick scoured the region’s estate sales and auctions to curate his shop’s odd yet refined assortment of wares. He’s inspired by bright pops of color and anything animal-themed, making The Shops at Eviction a must-stop location for any home enthusiast in need of unique furniture and decor." - The Frontier Project

Google
Quaint little antique store in Scott's Addition. Nice to browse. Convenient location to walk around this part of the city. Went in looking at records and my two complaints were that they were not organized at all AND they were severely overpriced. Not sure how much they sell of them, but I don't expect a lot at the unreasonable prices they're asking. Other than that, staff seemed friendly. Warm and winsome environment.

Simply the best! Unique vibe, goods and amazing finds await you upon arrival! The best people work here and love what they do. Truly a different place each time you go and you'll never leave without a ton of design inspiration!

Stopped in 30 min before closing (felt bad) Lisa, said I shouldn't feel rushed and if I needed any help just ask. I happily found some new pieces, got a good deal with Lisa for a dining set, thank you! And Jesse was kind enough to help me with the table and chairs :) Thank you both for the wholehearted service!

Super sweet employee who had great tunes playing! It was so fun to take our time walking through as there are so many gems. If we had room in our vehicle we could have easily purchased many unique items. Definitely worth the stop on our road trip!

Dog-friendly—unless you have an “aggressive breed.” I was looking around when a little girl asked to pet my puppy. My pup was a little wiggly, so her mom decided it was best for her not to pet her. Cool, no problem. But after the interaction ended, a man chimed in, saying he was uncomfortable with the little girl touching my dog. At first, I assumed he was her father, but then he revealed he was the store owner. It annoyed me because the situation was already handled between the child’s mother and me. I didn’t need a public service announcement from him when neither of us had an issue. We had been having a good day and that soured my mood and my desire to come back.

Great place to find treasures! Excellent selection of furniture and home decor at reasonable prices. Well organized and expertly presented.

Terrific selection of Mid Century Modern (MCM) and vintage furniture. Unusual (funky) decor and large selection of outdoor furniture. Friendly staff. Public restroom. Plenty of parking.

Google
Class and Trash is the best vintage furniture store I’ve been to in Richmond since moving here n 2015. The name says it all, But if that’s not clear enough I will add this quote to prove my point: one person‘s trash is another person‘s treasure. At Class and Trash, they have everything in between and and treasures at both sides of the spectrum. As soon as I can man I fell in love with an old industrial cart that I’ve been wanting for so long. That I’ve been wanting for so long. It was reasonably price so I purchased it on the spot and there is no buyers remorse. I highly recommend you stopping by! You might just find your next favorite statement piece.

Yelp
This place brings the phrase " your trash is someone else's treasure..." to life! This place is packed to the brim with hidden treasures spanning multiple decades. There are vintage tables, unique glassware and a plethora of other cool items to check out! The staff is friendly and inviting. The store does get really warm on hot days because the entry way is a warehouse garage door that stays up while the store is open. Overall I really enjoyed my time in this store and look forward to hunting for my next great find here.

Yelp
Clash and Trash is not too far from where I live and has so much variety. I don't come here often, but when I do it's for convenience. I like hunting for a unique piece. On a recent visit, my partner and I were looking for interesting things to use as cups. We were having an anything but cup party where guests had to bring items that weren't cups to drink in. I love what we found. I ended up buying this beautiful glass blue hand that had a cup-like wrist when turned upside down. It was also great for reuse later to hold my rings. My partner bought a lovely conversation piece. I'm unclear on what you'd call it, but it was shaped like a U and meant for listening to like a seashell. There are different rooms to explore in this shop. One could spend a long time looking at everything. Do know that things are a bit pricey here. They do have a huge variety of findings though. If you're on the hunt for quirky home goods or furniture this is a cool place to visit.

Yelp
This store is a fun place to spend an hour if you are into the dirtier side of antiquing. This is not a fine china and glassware and collectibles kind of place (although there is some of each there) but tends more to either larger pieces or architectural pieces (old windows, doors, wall pieces.) Perhaps this is only reflective of current inventory, but it is what primarily caught my eye. Some interesting knick knacks and curiosities -- I am uploading a few picks of old chocolate molds that I'd display if I had room in the kitchen. Prices on the few things I tend to look for did not look outrageous. I do wish they chose to enforce mask requirements, we saw several people not choosing to wear them. It's not a bad shop for a casual stroll through if you are in Scott's Addition, and who knows, you might find a treasure or two.

Yelp
If you don't mind spending a chunk of cash on old junk, then this warehouse shop is literally right up your alley. I've been to the other two sister stores and they are much better. This one in Scott's Addition is ridiculously expensive and is mostly trash, not class. Just because something is old and rusty, it doesn't mean it's valuable. I saw dozens of broken and damaged pieces that had hefty price tags, and not like cool shabby chic or rustic, I'm talking simply junky. The items that are in tact and in good condition are expensive. If you dig around this grungy storage facility, you may find a treasure, but it's slim pickin's. This warehouse is cluttered and difficult to walk through, sometimes I felt like I was on an obstacle course, hurdling over rugs and furniture. Some of the vintage garden ware is in decent shape, nothing that some primer and spray paint can't fix, but if you're thrifty, you may be able to find better deals at estate and yard sales. I wasn't impressed with this particular store, but the Ashland one is much neater and more reasonably priced. Unseasoned antique shoppers may be lured in to dropping some coin here, but I'm scurrying outta here.

Yelp
Wow! This place is so cool. Pricing seems very fair. Everything is so neat. Gorgeous furniture from all different decades. Check it out! The owner/employee seemed super nice and friendly also. Definitely want to come back with a UHUAL and get some bedroom furniture in the next couple weeks. We'll see! So many great hutches/cabinets. Really unique place over all. You will not be disappointed. It will take at least 30 mins to look at everything, but allow yourself more like 45-60 mins. Will be back next time we're in the area for sure.

Yelp
I was so excited to go here...only to find that much of it is not actually vintage or old - a lot of it is that style, but newly manufactured. So if you see something you like don't worry about it being gone...they can just order more.

Yelp
This place has a lot of potential. I found a couple things that I'd love to buy. Price is probably a little more than I'd like to spend AND the way they display things is haphazard. One item I want has some damage to it and I'm trying to decide whether it's worth getting because of it. I can't help but wonder if the damage happened BEFORE they got it or after because of the way it's displayed. No one spoke to me when I was there. Are prices negotiable? I'll have to go back and find out.

Yelp
I love this place. Staff is soooooo friendly. I love how the inventory rotates out. Several crates of old vinyl. Nice mixture of reproduction items and true antique items. Prices are very fair.

Yelp
If you're looking for something unique, you are guaranteed to find a conversation piece of some sort at this place! It is jam packed with tons of cool vintage finds from furniture to post cards and glass bottles. You never know what you'll find! Although the prices are not as great as you would find at a thrift store or other like store, this is sort of normal for the Scott's Addition area. The staff is super friendly and I haven't ever seen it too jam packed with customers. That's enough to keep me coming back! The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because the store has sort of an open front concept and it tends to get really hot in there if you go too late in the day. It feels quite miserable to be honest. Save yourself the sweat and check this place out early in the day....or at least make a stop at the gelato place around the corner first!

Yelp
This place is amazing, I could be here for hours. If you are a DIY type of person, this is the place for you. There strange, beautiful and eclectic things to give you home renovation or decoration ideas. I was really impressed by some of their amazing old wooden tables. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The shop is located in a hip up and coming Scott's Addition neighborhood.

Yelp
Seemed like this would be a good stop, but when we found items we were interested in they were not priced. Asked the staff for pricing and were told they had to request it. We looked all around for a bit but still no prices available. These were smalls! They offered to text us the prices later when available, but this is of no help when you are traveling to antique shops! A wasted stop for us.

Yelp
Love this location just as much as the Glen Allen spot! Scott's Addition is larger and has more items, some are the same as what's sold in GA (sugar molds, wooden bowls) but there is much more furniture, signage and appliances here. There was also rugs and some ironwork pieces that would go nice in any home as decoration. Staff was also very cheerful and helpful. Lots of parking and food spots in this area too.

Yelp
Vintage Class and Trash got tons of interesting selections. They have home accessories, wall decor, office filing storage, home furniture, console table, vintage bicycles, lamps, paintings, doors, mirrors, planters and a lot more. Found a wooden home decor for $24, their prices are reasonable. Don't worry about parking, they have plenty of space across the shop.

Yelp
I went here a few weeks ago looking for a new dining room table. They have so many unique pieces here and a lot of cool vintage decorative pieces. I was really interested in a couple of their dining room sets but then found out that they can custom make you a table to better suit your wants. I ordered a dark wooden top with light colored legs such as white. It came out great! I love it! You can also choose whether or not you want 1-2 benches with the table. You can choose the dimensions of the table, pretty much anything you want. The color option they have vary for the legs such as blue, green, or white. The tops of the tables can vary from dark wood to light. You have some options but it's simple choices. I got a 4 ft long table and they go to 5 ft and even 6 ft too I believe. The cost before taxes was $345.00. I want to go back to the shop and buy some more vintage decorative pieces for my apartment. Will definitely be back here. Prices on other items in the store are reasonable. If you like antiques this is a good place to check out in Scott's Add

Yelp
I have never found anything here that I have wanted to buy or that really fits what I am looking for. They are very friendly and the store seems pretty organized and easy to walk through. There are a lot of different types of items to look through, and a lot of different price ranges, but most are out of my range. It is fun to walk through and check out the new items, or see what other people are into.

Yelp
There's a new kid on the block in Scott's Addition. From unique treasures to antique finds, this new antique thrift shop has a variety of gems anyone would gladly search for. This new warehouse- styled store has anything from antique coca-cola memorabilia and vintage cameras to antique cabinet and chairs. Looking for something a little modern? They have mod-styled chairs to add a posh vibe to any space. Do you love music? They have a large collection of vinyls. Find charm in the rustic windows or retro lit signs. This is a great stop if you are looking for a unique piece for your home. The prices are fair and there is so much to choose from. No worries about parking: If you would prefer not to parallel park, they have a gavel lot across the street. Stop on in and take a peek: you never know what you will find.

Yelp
Very pricey for the items they seem to procure, however they have tons of good stuff!!!!

Silene B.

Yelp
On Friday morning around 7 the owner posted pictures of items for sale on Facebook. I sent her a message saying I really wanted to buy one of pieces and I would give her my credit card number. Well, she replied first come first served. Okay, I'm trying to give you me credit card number. Nope, she said I had to physically go to the store or call at 10. She's the owner, I was under the assumption she was in business to make money, not be snarky and unhelpful. Obvisiouly I didn't buy the chair. She pulled this move with friends as well at the other location. Horrible business ethic.

Yelp
I went on a very hot afternoon, and I've got to say, I feel so sorry for the people working there. It was misery even with all the fans going. They had an eclectic mix of cool furniture and home décor. They had some "upcycled" items if you are into that! The prices seemed really fair, especially on chairs! It seems like they probably rotate stock a lot and they were very busy. I was just window shopping this time, but will be back when I have something more specific I'm shopping for.

Yelp
I just purchased an instamatic x-15 camera by Kodak from this amazing thrift store for 10 dollars. This large warehouse is jam packed full of home decor, furniture, and so much more. The prices were higher than I am used to for a thrift store, but would highly recommend stopping through if you're looking for items for your home. DIY heaven! The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I had no problems with street parking so don't let that intimidate you from thrift shopping downtown.

Yelp
Omg. I have been a dedicated fan of Class & Trash in Ashland for years- and then last year I found their second store in OBX and it was ahhhhhhhh mazing... and now they have a store in scotts edition! It's huge and filled with tons of salvage and vintage... plus a healthy dose of reproduction (like RVA metal signs)... but what I've always appreciated is the prices. It's not hard to find a deal in Class & Trash. I grabbed a cool light fixture for $10 today and a cast iron towel loop (reproduction) for $8. Score. Will be back...

Yelp
I love, love, love this store!! When I first visited many months ago, I had just moved into my new home and was looking for kitschy items to stock my built-ins. I was lucky enough to arrive on unloading day and they had just come upon a load of vintage books. I came away with some GREAT finds. I've since continued to go back just to see what I can stumble upon. I've bought a gorgeous wooden dough bowl at a fraction of the price of a Pottery Barn one, tons of more books, and even found a great corner cabinet that my parents refinished. I love stopping in to see if there is anything I can refinish myself. I have great plans of stumbling upon a dresser I can refinish for my foyer, or even transfer into a wine rack of some sort. The stock is ever changing, and mix of junk, projects, and perfect finds. You never know what you will get!!

Reed W.

Yelp
This is the coolest store I've ever been to, not exaggerating! They had such unique pieces. I spent about an hour and a half walking through the big warehouse so enthralled by all the different decor. I would recommend this place to everybody I know. Staff is also super friendly and helpful!

Greg C.

Yelp
Amazing selection of furniture and decor - lots of finished pieced and lots for DIY. They update some of their new inventory on Facebook, too! Prices are generally very fair - much better than a lot of the places in Richmond. A must go!
