Absolutely love this place! I bought this perfect toy bench for my kids shoes and to have a place to sit at my front door entrance this past weekend. These pumpkins are always a favorite every year at both stores too! I had to buy! They also come in a white color too! Prices are very reasonable and such a fun time finding unique house items and gifts! The staff and especially owners are always there greeting with smiles and suggestions! I will be back and spread the word! I have added other items I have bought too over the past few months! See my pictures!

Recently went to this store on a Saturday of shopping in the Ashland area. While I did not buy anything, this is an interesting store with loads to see and prices that are all over the place. It appears to be multiple vendors and items range from knic knacs, furniture, artwork, memorabilia, carved wood, to some outdoor items and architectural elements. I love original artwork and saw loads of great pieces priced below $50. A basket filled with some artist's unframed signed and numbered work were $5 each. I was tempted by a pair of heads to be hung on a wall made out of some sort of plaster/cement that were $20 each. This shop has items I don't usually see and for that it is worth looking into. Of the 8 places we went to though in the area , it was the most expensive overall.

Amazing selection of vintage furniture and decor. Very affordable prices. Friendly staff.

Have stuff I was looking for but not going to pay the price they wanted

Google
Amazing shop. We come here often for the great deals. There’s something for everyone here you just have to look or ask the person at the desk. Very helpful and friendly.

Always an adventure in the eclectic and always a pleasure dealing with Lisa and the staff at the Ashland location, but you have to stop as see Karen in Scott's Addition.

Other than the impact it has on my wallet (thanks to my wife), this place is pretty great. It's dirty, dim, run-down... but that's what you want in a place like this. Lots of cool stuff to look at, the prices are reasonable, and if you go at the right time there are people available to help you load your vehicle. Only thing to avoid is a hot humid day. There's no AC and it is quite unpleasant shopping around in here on a 100* day.

I haven't even been to the store but had the most amazing experience purchasing a dresser through them! I called to ask if they offered delivery out to Mechanicsville and mentioned I was looking for a dresser and bookshelves specifically. My toddler was hollering in the background the woman I was speaking with said she could send me some pictures of the dressers and bookshelves they had in stock so I didn't have to come all the way out with my daughter. I had pictures within minutes, responded to her with which one I wanted, and called to pay over the phone, all in under 30 minutes! They called a day or two later to arrange delivery the next day and gave me a two hour window and then the delivery driver called me within the window to let me know when they were 20 minutes away. When they showed up they asked if it was going to the second floor and seemed fairly confused why I was so shocked they were willing to take it upstairs. I'm so used to big box store just leaving giant boxes in my living room (or worse, the front yard), I couldn't believe they took it right upstairs and set it up in my bedroom! Amazing customer service, amazing and friendly staff. I can't wait to get a chance to go and shop in-store!

Yelp
Great and fun selection of items to choose from. Would recommend it to anyone who loves the hunt!

Yelp
Some cool things in this thrift shop, but be prepared to dig and hunt. It's sort of dingy and really dusty, but if you don't mind sifting through piles and shelves, you may just take home a treasure. They have some unique signage, neat wrought iron fixtures and some funky antique furniture. You will find the gamut here, some prices are "deals and steals" and other are "what how much?" Some items are new, some are ancient so check for wear and tear. The garden and outdoor section is plentiful and there are lots of "fixer uppers" and items that can be salvaged, reclaimed & upcycled if you have the time and talent! Although I find it's hit or miss, it's always a fun stop while tracking up historic Route 1!

Yelp
This place was not what I expected at all. So glad I stop here . Things are decently well organized and arranged in a way so as to see them . There is a lot packed into this open warehouse building . I saw servers , dresser with great prices on them . Wrought iron pieces , signage , tea cups , dishes and many many many great things waiting to be discovered . If my house were only bigger ... lol You can find this great spot in Ashland . It's worth the drive .

Yelp
The place needs a thorough cleaning, you can hardly breathe. That said eclectic array of items. Worth just coming to look. The prices are high, but if you want a trip down memory lane this is it.

Yelp
Great name for this store, as most of what they have is trash. The classy things they have definitely need restoring. Good prices, so you might luck up on something, so long as you don't mind it as is, or putting a little elbow grease (or money) to it to fix it up.

Yelp
Fun place to shop Reasonable prices so things move quickly. Great place to find old quality made furniture on the cheap. Wide variety of treasures, nice, friendly people. One of my favorite places to go when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Lots of fun stuff. Packed full. Two full floors. Housewares, rugs, furniture, door knobs, drawer pulls, artwork, planters, roller skates, signs, chairs, skate boards, records, books, architectural decor, tennis racquets, guitars, belts, clocks, pillows, windows, doors, etc. Not everything is old. Many things are brand new but they fit into the look of the rest of the shop. I plan to go back for Christmas shopping

Maria O.

Yelp
This place has a great mix of things home from large pieces to knobs and antique signs. The prices are poppin' so if you see it, you want it, get it or it's gone. Lots of parts you can use for repurposing as well. They have other locations equally awesome.

Yelp
Super cute finds here, some finished and some for you to finish. Signs, furniture, dishes....a little bit of everything. Always fun to browse and have gotten some very cool things here!

Yelp
Came across Class and Trash while scoping antique stores around the area. Since we just relocated to Richmond we wanted things for our new home and hit the jackpot here. I love the old and refurbished furniture pieces they sell, and the prices for their selections are very reasonable. They also have IG and FB pages where new items and shipments are advertised. I found some great items for the house and yard and have my eye on some other things I saw there which I hope to grab on my next visit. One of my fave places to explore now in Richmond, especially for unique home and garden things.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! A friend brought me here a few weeks ago, and I ended up coming home with quite a few treasures. We stopped in on a Sunday during a girl's day, and my mom was just as impressed. As others have mentioned, some of the prices can be a little on the steep side, but on the other hand, you can get some serious deals here. The employees are helpful and nice, and both times I've been they are available to help.

Yelp
I am giving this spot a 5 star review due to the fact that it has become my defacto last stop for things I have not been able to find elsewhere. While it is almost in Ashland, VA, the ability to almost always fine a "treasure" is worth the drive, especially if you can work other errands in while in the Virginia Center Commons shopping district. Most recently I bought two great outdoor tables for 18 dollars each. Both are the prefect size to use as side tables and both are mid century aluminum and won't rust. I am a fan of using already manufactured items as my way of keeping my Eco footprint smaller. The place is chuck full of everything: outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, decorative items, architectural relics, stained glass, brick a brack etc. They do not take great pains to merchandise this store and it pretty much gets dropped and tagged for sale. This is what makes it such a great find. They do not spend money reconditioning, merchandising or cleaning the stuff they buy so the savings is passed on to you. The second floor is a little more "together" as it is where the consignment pieces tend to be. The couple who owns the place can find you anything and are always willing to work with you on price/condition etc. Of special interest is the unusually large amount of vintage metal and aluminum outdoor furniture. There are also some great mid-century finds if you look. Come here with a hunter's mind set and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
I visited Class and Trash after a long search for antique chairs. Though the color wasn't what I had in mind for my place, I did not walk away empty handed. This place is chock-full of tons of thrifty antiques - furniture, rugs and tons of knick knacks. With two floors full of stuff, you will always find something you need (or just have to have). The prices are very reasonable, but they do offer pieces for the more tasteful buyers willing to pay more for certain antiques. The owner, Lisa, is super friendly and she even told me about the other local antique shops nearby, but they didn't even compare to her shop. Class and Trash is the epitome of what is one man's trash, is another man's treasure. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
What a great place to find unique treasures! I highly recommend visiting this "class and trash" store! I have bought many items to update, refresh, and compliment my eclethic old/new/antique/modern decor. The last two items were a great find - 6 cane-backed chairs for $125 dollars (minor nicks/caning easy to fix). Imagine my GLEE when I found two identical chairs (pristine condition of course) on eBay for $900. The same for a beautiful round oak parquet table/chunky legs for $100. I am in love with this store! Lisa is so helpful, "the boys" carefully loaded up my items, and I left a very happy buyer! Allow yourself time to browse!

Yelp
This is a great thrift and antique store, with everything from architectural salvage items (I just bought an antique mantle salvaged from an old house in downtown Richmond) to old hand tools to lawn furniture to antique bedroom sets to cheap furniture you can paint or use for projects. You've got to go in and dig around a little bit, the place is huge and there are a ton of items to sift through... but you can find some real gems! And if you can't find what you are looking for, ask one of the owners- they know the place inside and out, and can point you towards just about anything!

Yelp
There is quite literally something for everyone at Class and Trash. For the unseasoned thrift/antique shopper, it may be a bit overwhelming. You may see a beautiful buffet table for several hundred dollars next to an old rickety contraption that you can't identify. It truly is a mixture of class and trash. I think the upstairs area is mostly other vendors, some of whom run specials for their own booths. The best way to remain "in the know," is to join the Class and Trash Facebook group. (anyone can join) There, they post photos of items as they come in, or feature pieces around the shop. I often feel as if C&T is geared toward the customer who wants to thrift/antique but doesn't know where to start or how to improve older items. This is a great place to get started, but the already "fixed up" pieces tend to be a bit pricier.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
Well I'll start by saying that the owner and shop keep woman were very nice. Upside. Downside, (and I'll get right to it) They know they're gouging you on prices for items by the looks on their faces when they "haggle" with you. (And the fact that most other joints have the same crap for much cheaper) A lot of the items here are over priced. There isn't much "trash" here to buy from ... Just junk like busted old bottles they'll like to sell you at 5-10 bucks a pop, even if you dug 'em out of the dirt yourself ... (just because it's old doesn't mean it's treasure. ) All this being said go back up the road a bit to the flea market on the corner, same stuff but the prices are infinitely better. I'd come back for specifics only, realizing I'm not getting a deal and I'm paying out of my husbands account... ;) Old bottles - 3$ -100$ depending on what and how many Furniture - 80$ and up Knick knacks - 10$ & up Shutters (old wooden) 30$ & up Furs - 30$ & up Name it - $ & up & up & up & up ... You get the picture.

Yelp
Calling all DIY-ers! If you haven't been to C&T, then you better run -not walk- to your car and put the pedal to the metal. What looks like an old building with a junkyard next to an auto shop is actually a haven for hidden treasures. True, you have to sort through the goods to find that perfect piece of furniture just waiting for a makeover, but once you do you'll be thanking your lucky stars. The shop itself is two floors, with the upstairs housing some already refinished pieces along with those in need of a little TLC. The downstairs carries a mix of large items (some in pretty darn good condition) along with random goods like mirrors and chairs. I've scored some stellar finds including a small wooden chest that I stripped and repainted that now sits proudly in my dining room. I'm still kicking myself for not scooping up a blanket rack when I had the chance! It would have made the perfect accent piece for my living room once painted a bright color. The best part about C&T? Even when I don't find anything that must come home with me, I still gain inspiration for future projects! The shop's name is on point; it's the perfect place for classin' up someone else's trash.

Yelp
A fantastic random road trip discovery - thanks early Yelpers! Two floors of vintage: furniture, dishes, books, "stuff". The layout is a bit cramped and full of nooks and crannies, but makes the treasure hunt that much more exciting. The owner is a sweetie pie, even if she wouldn't budge on the prices.

Yelp
Cute little place. While reading Michelle A's review I knew I had to come and visit this place and experience it for myself. Seemed like this place was popular due to the amount of cars parked outside; but later realized the cars could've been from the auto-mechanic garage next door. :) Anyway, I walked in and was surprised! This place was huge - two stories full of treasured good. Made my way around the first floor, but I couldn't get pass the pile of clutter obstructing my train of thought. That's my only complaint about this place - most consignment shops I've visited create sections where you can easily browse each item in its designated area. It wasn't the case here - things were just everywhere. You literally have to rummage through stuff. Most of the stuff being sold were dusty - to some this is a good thing, it shows its age? I was indifferent about the dust, I mean coming from Phoenix, AZ the dust what minor. The name of this place suits itself. It's fun walking around thinking about what things you could buy for your place to make it feel like home. The things being sold here really add character to your home; it gives it some relevant history even though the history behind the thing you're buying is unknown, but if you're creative you can always make something up. :)

Yelp
Lots of great antique pieces at incredibly reasonable prices. They seem to get new items in weekly, so there's always something new to look at.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to pick! They have two stories of treasures waiting to be discovered and an outside area. If you like to dig and get a little dirty... Class or Trash is your place. I always leave with something. Prices are affordable and the staff members are a delight.

Yelp
There was a time I used to go to Class and Trash and it was wonderful. However, they are the worst now; the store has never been the best aesthetically. However, now it is dirtier, the associates try their best but the owners are the real problem. I bought furniture and it took them over a month to deliver after being told it would be the next week. The owner did not try to do anything to accommodate me due to handles missing from a dresser I bought. The handles were not missing when I purchased the piece so it must have happened in transport. I have also heard the owner's husband make jokes about gay people, and I am not gay. However, I think such a topic should be kept private or at least where no customer can overhear him.

Yelp
Unreasonable pricing , non negotiable, would rather have $0 dollars than a reasonable offer
google avatar

Lynnsey H.

Yelp
Nice shop to stop by and have a look if you are in the area. Prices seemed a little higher on most items in my opinion, but if you are looking for something special chances are you can find it here. This shop is perfect for those looking for items to flip and make into new creations and be able to sell for a high price, very Flea Market Flip type shop.

Yelp
The absolutely worst place...it is dirty, no room to move around, more junk than anything, no one to help. There was one lady working the day I went, and she was trying to help. However, the place was so full of things there was no way she could tell who was speaking to her. Therefore, she started answering someone else's questions, and my question never got an answer. Once I had this experience, I decided I would never go back to this place anymore. However, a friend talked me into going with her once more. It started out to be better than the previous visit, and I even bought a couple pieces of furniture. Once my purchase was paid for I had to wait on my friend. Therefore, I asked if they had some way to deliver my furniture, and a woman behind the counter told me yes. She asked where I lived, and told me it would be $45 for delivery. Therefore, I agreed and paid for a delivery, but it took over a month before my mdse. was ever delivered. In addition, once it was delivered I discovered pieces missing off the furniture. I called and asked if someone could please look for these pieces and was told sure. However, I had to call again the next day to ask if anyone had a chance to look for the two pieces missing, and was told yes, but no one could find them "sorry" and hung up. I asked to speak to the owner and was told they were not there, but I would receive a call from one of them in the next few days. It has been four months and no one has ever called to say sorry or anything. I would like to be able to give this business a good review, but my experience was not a good one.

Yelp
After so many Saturdays of meaning to venture to Class and Trash, I finally went; and wow, it was absolutely worth it. This place is crammed with so much good fashioned vintage, shab-chic, and plainly old stuff that I needed to borrow the shopkeeper's notepad to remember all the things I wanted to shove in my car. I'm definitely going back soon... the prices are quite reasonable, and the variety is swell.
google avatar

CS B.

Yelp
I find the coolest stuff here, it is my favorite thrift / junk / antique store. :)

Whitney N.

Yelp
It has some great options if you are looking for something they have, but I found bed rails I have been looking for and then tried to buy them, but the woman said the numbers on the rails went to a bed (headboard/baseboard) I was ok with that so we went to see how much the bed would be. However, they could not find the bed. Then we called the vendor to see if she would sell them since the bed was not there. They wouldn't and said the bed may be in Ashland or in her storage... How can I buy it though if it isn't even in the building? It was a mess not worth it when they can't even sell something because the other piece of it may be in some location, but they have no idea where...

Yelp
Niki was extremely helpful. I was looking for a very particular item when I called, she took the time to search it out, take a picture and text it to me, all within 1/2 an hour. It worked perfect for me and my client. Thanks so much Niki!! I will be back when I can spend more time browsing.

Yelp
I've been to Class and Trash several times. I find the prices to be too high. As stated by other reviewers you can find the same things for less at other local shops. The owner is nice.

Yelp
best thrift and vintage furnishings in the richmond area. staff and customer service are great. prices are very affordable. two thumbs up!

Yelp
I've been going to trash and class for many years (I'm 20 years old) and while they used to be a decently run thrift store, they gave transformed into just another cash grab. Every time I pick something up, that I feel is a good deal (which is rare), I go online and fine it for the expect same price or cheaper. Here are a few examples of there bloated prices; a fake leather jacket, that appeared to have been involved in some sort of vicious animal attack, I mean the goodwill would have laughed if you tried to donate it,was priced at 20 dollars. A press board table that was the veneer had come off due to being left out in some sort of flood, was 75 dollars. While in the store 4 out of the 5 customers were laughing about the pricing. This is one shop you should cross off your list, unless of course you enjoy being made a fool of.

Honestiam S.

Yelp
After reading the other reviews we knew we had to check it out. Lots of great nostalgic items that we enjoyed looking and digging through. It's a little more on the expensive side, but it is an antique shop. We usually patronize The Salvation Army and the better quality Goodwill Stores. Found a couple of items to purchased and will check out again in the future. The owners are very nice and helpful, but don't expect them to negotiate on the price under the $75+ - price range. Even if it was only for a dollar it would have made the experience a little more fun and would feel more like a win win. Which is why I gave it 4 stars.

Rick L.

Yelp
Just love this place! Lots of junky stuff is just a distraction but keep looking with a creative mind and you'll find treasures galore. Never seem to leave there empty handed. Industrial decor, vintage sports equipment, rustic cabin/cottage items, old house parts, it's all in there somewhere. Always buy when you see it because it won't be there the next week...I've learned. Seems they restock on Thursdays so by Sunday the best goodies are gone. Great prices, friendly owners and staff. No really fine antiques here but great for fun and funky vintage items.

F J.

Yelp
This place is the best! If you are willing to look through lots of stuff to find a diamond in the rough, you can find some real gems. Plus, the owner is so sweet.

D K.

Yelp
This place is FANTASTIC. So much to look at resonable pricing. Place you can spend some time in. But the best part is the owners. Wonderful people who care about their customers. A great place to visit.

Pauline O.

Yelp
it was all junk when I was there both times and I am pretty creative and open to sand, paint etc a good find in the rough.
