OMG- my 3 friends who from the PNW- and myself who's been living here for a year now- we LOVED this spot!!! Everything was SO good!!! The half shell oysters were the BEST we've had anywhere, and so big!! Also, the fried oysters, the nachos, and the oyster chowder were wonderful!!!! I can't recommend the chowder enough- the flavor and texture is just phenomenal. We took some home. We will be back!!! 😋🦪

The fresh shucked oysters were the best I've ever had, and their cucumber mignonette paired super well with them! The oyster chowder was hearty, delicious, and came with a big fried oyster on top. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area where the floor is covered with oyster shells. I can't wait to be back!

We decided to spend our weekend at Coos bay and we were craving seafood, particularly fried oysters. We decided to go here and glad we did! they have the best oysters we ever have fresh and fried. And also ordered to go oysters chowder soup. Very nice people and fast service, will coming back for sure.

Happy, friendly staff is very helpful when trying to choose what to have. We had the fried oyster tacos. Oyster chowder. And oysters on the half shell. Everything was so fresh and tasted so delicious and looked so good. I love this place. They sell take-home items in the fridge and freezer that also looked great. This little hidden gem is a touch of Heaven.

Wow! This place is phenomenal! The food was FRESH and delicious. Got an impromptu tour of the raising and processing of oysters and let me tell you THIS PLACE IS SPOTLESS. Don't miss out on this gem. Staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.

A bit out of the way, but the bay view alone is more than worth the drive. The food is top notch. Their oyster chowder is, hands down, the best chowder in the area. Good variety of local beers to accompany your meal, plus non alcoholic drinks for the kids. If you like seafood, peaceful meals, and hidden gems, this spot is a must-try.

The fried oysters and chowder are a MUST try!! The kitchen staff were incredibly friendly and hard at work. Had to take a dozen home to make oysters Rockefeller 😋 I was shocked by the size of what they consider ‘small’ and the mediums were huge! Which is a good thing! 😄 Definitely will be returning!

Extremely nice experience. We found out about the place from some campers that brought the oysters out to the Oregon Dunes and grilled them. They were absolutely delicious. We ended up going to the business two days in a row for lunch. The cod fish and chips were excellent. Fresh and breaded perfectly. I got oysters on the half shell both days and really liked them. Both the large and small were good. They provide hot sauce and a homemade berry sauce that was good. Sitting outside and watching the oyster operation is really cool. My grandson and his family came the second day and really enjoyed it. Both days were beautiful. Friendly staff and clean restroom. Good job Clausen!!!!!!

We ordered from this oyster spot to go, and I was genuinely blown away by how incredible everything was. Even packed for takeout, the oysters were unbelievably fresh, cold, and perfectly handled--no sogginess, no shortcuts. Each one tasted clean, briny, and straight-from-the-ocean fresh, which is rare for takeout seafood, let alone oysters. The packaging was impressive and thoughtful: everything was neatly arranged, the toppings and sauces were separated so nothing got mixed or mushy. They clearly put real care into making sure the experience was just as good at home as it would've been in the restaurant. The flavors were amazing, the portions were generous, and everything survived the trip perfectly. This is easily one of the best oyster experiences I've had--dine-in or takeout. If you're an oyster lover, this place absolutely delivers. Staff were all so friendly and welcoming!! MAKE SURE TO GET THE OYSTER SHOOTERS!!

We stopped for lunch. Close by off 101. They were friendly and helpful making suggestions. We had a dozen raw oysters on the half shell. They're served with cocktail sauce, lemon, mignonette and bottle of hot sauce. They were delicious and well shelled with no crunchy shell in them. We also shared their fabulous oyster chowder which came with two fried oysters as accompaniment. The last item we had were oyster tacos. Also delicious served with a pineapple salsa. We were happily satisfied. We will definitely be back.

The staff welcomed us right away. Very friendly! There is inside seating and outside seating. We sat outside because the weather was so nice. The food was delicious. My husband had the oyster chowder. It was thick and loaded with smoked oysters. I had the Poki Nachos, with ahi and shrimp. They make their own chips. Everything was fresh and oh so flavorful.

The oysters were fried too perfection as was the fish. The best french fries we've had in a long time! The outdoor seating amongst all the oyster shells was so much fun! All of the employees were top-notch, they love the company they work for and they're very knowledgeable about their menu. We drove 30 minutes from our Airbnb to get here and we are so glad we did! It was simply delicious!

We stopped here for lunch while driving on the Oregon Coast, and it was delicious. I had oyster chowder which I thought would come with chopped oysters. It did but you also get a whole fried oyster. What a bonus! Also, I ordered the fried oysters with fries. The oysters were terrific..nice texture without being greasy. The fries were cooked well too. This is a very casual place. Order at the counter and sit in the dining room that's off to the side. They will bring your food. Service is quick. From the dining room, you can see someone shucking oysters. There's outside tables too.

Enjoy some of the freshest oysters right on the water at this charming oyster farm. Let me just get this out of the way. This was in our top 5 from all the amazing places we visited this summer in the PNW. Obviously the seafood places up here are stellar but this one stood out just a little more. Clausen is an oyster farm, market, store, deli, and restaurant. As you're getting here it feels like you might have taken a wrong turn but don't worry you haven't. You'll be directly on the water and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Super casual as you order at the counter and then find a table. Expect to walk on some monster oyster shells if you'd like a table right on the water. We enjoyed everything outside with a view of Haynes Inlet a bay in North Bend. Their famous oyster chowder is a must. It's made with smoked bacon, celery, onion, potato, cream, and served with a very large fried oyster on top. The oyster is crunchy but so soft and succulent inside. The Hawaiian poke just melted in my mouth and loved that it was slightly sweet. The Baja street tacos were filled with crispy and tender fried oysters. We couldn't get enough of the oysters here!!!! So if you're in OR and are looking for super fresh and creamy oysters this place should definitely be on your list.

We actually live at the California Coast and this was probably the best Seafood we have had. The price is so reasonable. We even took home some frozen Oyster Chowder to share with the family. The service was fast and everyone was super nice. The view is pretty cool. Right on the water and Oyster Shells everywhere. Make sure you arrive early because they do sell out of some favorites. It's that good

Been on the Oregon coast for several years. First time and Clausen Oysters and hands down best seafood in the area. And great selection of gluten free items!

OMG! Why haven't I been to Clausen Oysters before?? The meals are amazing! I had the fried oysters (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside) a cup of oyster chowder (best I've ever had) and oysters on the half shell (sweet and tender). Absolutely the best meal I have had in years. Not a fancy place, but if you love oysters, you will be in heaven.

Another fun experience. Sat outside , so refreshing and the food was over the top. Took my granddaughter there, she was so impressed and loved everything she ordered. Took my daughter there last week and she felt the same way. They were both visiting from out of the area. Thank you Clausens for an amazing time.

Absolutely love their oysters!!! Going back in 1 hour when they open for round 2 before heading back to California. LOL

This place has the best oyster chowder that I have ever had! It was amazing! The Oyster tacos were excellent also. Staff is friendly and nice outdoor picnic eating area.

I had no idea oysters were a thing in Coos Bay before coming here on vacation. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you for the sign on the 101 by the bridge! The folks here were kind, knowledgeable, and the oysters were so fresh!

You can't find fresher oysters. Large and delicious. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Factory atmosphere. You will be right in the thick of it. This is where they harvest prepare and even ship their oysters all over the US. Fun to watch them working. I go out of my way to come here.

The quality of the food was truly beautiful considering this is an Oyster Farm. This is how it should be on the Oregon Coast!

This is the first time I have reviewed a place without actually eating here. Call before you come here, we drove all the way and they said they didn't shuck anymore oysters. It was 2 pm. Get to shucking!! Only deep fried oyster available. Good bye! Then we got yelled at by a customer that thought we backed up into the old lady's car! He ran to us slammed his hands on our rental van and yelled "she said you ran into her car " before even checking it. What a nut, Please.... Stop accusing people. They're lucky we're not violent? Our van will not let you back up into anything!!

What an epic find! After spending nearly a week on the coast, we were heading out of coos bay destined for Bend and I needed to find one last bite of fresh seafood before we left the ocean! Luckily Yelp lead me to the Clausen and it was the perfect OR coast send off I was seeking. Eating food as close to the source is something I love doing, and knowing oysters are farmed in the bay, I had to get some and Clausen's cafe offered a great menu with a lot of delicious ways to eat the oysters they grow. After talking to the nice guy at the counter we settled on the seafood tower for two, (a dozen oysters, tuna poke, and shrimp cocktail), an order of 3 bbq garlic parm oysters and a side of two fried oysters just to try it all. The raw oysters were easily some of the best I've had. Clean, fresh, briny, delicious and the perfect size for slurping them up! The fried oysters were magic too. A light cornmeal crust blankets the soft and tender oyster, and these are fairly large too. The bbq oysters were perfectly cooked. Each oyster was cooked gently on the grill until it was open, then toped with the garlic and parm before being broiled and served. The oysters remained juicy and tender, and I loved the combo of flavors and textures. Eating all of that right on the banks of the bay, watching the boats bring the oysters to the docks, surrounded by the bails of oyster shells ready to head back out to sea was amazing. I highly recommend this experience and the eats to be had! PS they have a great store with all sorts of fresh and frozen products you can take with you including bushels of oysters, oyster chowder, beer, wine and more!

The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. Clausen's Oyster chowder is thick and rich in flavor, and my bowl was filled to the brim. The deep-fried oyster served on top of the soup is a nice touch, making the dish more memorable. Everyone was kind, from the lady who took our order to the server. The views are stunning.

First time coming here and the one weekend of our visit we went two days in a row, everything was soooo good! Can't wait to go back and we will definitely be visiting... multiple times...

EVERYTHING was delicious. We started with the Oyster Po Boy, the homemade spicy pickles were the perfect topping (can I get a jar of those?). Then we had the seafood tower with Poke, Shrimp cocktail, oyster shooters, and a dozen raw oysters. Best oysters we had during our week long stay on the coast. The mignonette gets its lovely color from blackberries. Looks to be a small family operation, so come with some patients, buy a bottle of wine, sit back and relax, and enjoy what must be a labor of love.

Oyster BBQ Saturday October 19. The oysters and sides were great! Service was awesome. The band today was fantastic. (Willie and the South Coast Bluegrass Band) They were also great sports when a couple of dogs joined in. An all round beautiful day!

If you're an oyster lover, this is your spot! Fresh and awesomely delicious! If I lived closer, I'd be eating here all the time!

Beautiful setting and delicious oysters! Stopped by on a beautiful afternoon and got a dozen raw oysters to enjoy while overlooking the water. The oysters were amazing, sweet with just a hint of briny ocean goodness. We also got a container of sweet smoked oysters that my mom declared were the best she's ever had.

My bride wanted some fresh-raw oysters and so we came here. Nice, kinda funky place on the back bay, forever views of oyster shells and the back bay. She really liked the oysters and the presentation. The staff was very nice and accommodating. And we spent some nice and relaxing time there. Oysters/shrimp, if you want anything else forget it. That's what they do, and they do it well. We will be back.

Been coming here for a few years but had to revise my review. It has fallen downhill in the last year and the front end manager is positively rude and there is an air and culture of indifference. Last few times I have gone in the staff are short, bad tempered, and just plain grumpy, and I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a half dozen oysters. They no longer cultivate delicate deep cupped oysters, with names like Blue Point, and Silver Point, and when you ask what they have (hoping for their signature Blue Points) all they simply say is "all we have is Pacifics" and when you press them for more details, they become irritated. In addition to this, their quality has gone down with flabby, spawny, and larger oysters which are becoming increasingly difficult to stomach. These folks don't cater to Oyster aficionados, and I recommend going to Umpqua triangle down the street in Winchester bay or online (from Florence) at oystergrower (.com)

A must when you're on the South Coast! Often closes at 4:00. Have lunch and take some home!

I drove all the way to Coos Bay for meetings. Using Yelp, I found Clausen Oysters and was 110% excited to try it out. There were no hours posted on the Yelp review that I could see, so I drove out there. Uh oh! They only operate from 9am-5pm so I missed them by 50 minutes. I didn't get to try any fresh oysters at Clausen Oysters, but hope to try some next time I visit Coos Bay. Maybe it was a reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic and reduced tourists or residents going out to eat. Or maybe 9-5 is their regular operating hours. I did notice a humongous pile of used oyster shells out on the wharf. It gives off a familiar odor from childhood of beaches, oysters, saltwater shores.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! What a wonderful and relaxing way to have lunch on a sunny Saturday! Fresh oysters. There are several different ways to order them including bbq'd and fried. Highly recommend having the raw and the bbq'd with the Parmesan garlic sauce. Someone I was sitting next to said the fried fish tacos were really good too. They have wine by the glass or bottle. Several beer options as well as nonalcoholic beverages. They also sell a few other items like jellies, jams, crackers, the sauces they make, etc. Dog friendly. All tables are outside along the estuary. BEAUTIFUL view!!!! Picnic tables with umbrellas. Side note: I REALLY wish I would have had some sourdough bread to accompany the bb'd Parmesan garlic oysters...that addition would have just exceeded all expectations.

This was a great place to have lunch on Sunday. The prices are very reasonable, and the options are varied, as long as you are a big fan of oysters, served up in all the traditional ways. We had a non-oyster afficionado here with us, and she didn't have many options; they used to do a great fried fish option, but the server let us know the fryer is down. This place is easy to get to from 101, and there's plenty of parking. The outside seating has a great view of the bay and surrounding hillsides. We definitely enjoy it here!.

Been coming here when in town for a bushel for years. This last time was in July and the small oysters were amazing. No milky look when shucking, and as fresh as you can get. Great to see such good product out there in the summer. Keep up the good work!

During a roadtrip down the Oregon coast, came across this cute oyster farm! Visited in August in the midst of the pandemic and only 4 people are allowed in the lobby to order and people outside were socially distancing. There are tables outside near the entrance and a few down closer by the water. The menu is pretty simple for dining in (1 fresh oyster option) and drinks/beers are available in the fridges near the ordering counter. While my fiancé is the oyster connoisseur between the two of us - I really liked these oysters. They were crisp and bright tasting, not super brine-y. My fiancé liked them as well. They also included a few extra oysters! If you like to slurp directly from the shell, I'd be careful as there fragments on the outside of the shell still. I use the lil oyster fork and didn't have an issue. If you're craving fresh oysters along the coast, definitely recommend Clausen's!

We've been going to this spot for a few years. IMO This is the best fresh seafood spot on the Oregon Coast. All of their menu items are must tries. Make sure to get the oyster shooters (plural).

Loved the seafood tower for two, tons of fresh oysters, shooters, shrimp cockand albacore tuna poke. Was still hungry so we ordered the Oyster Po' boy, massive flavorful oysters on some delicious bread and fixings. This is a clear winner and should be ordered. Will definitely come back if we are in the area again in the future.

The oysters were clean, fresh, and with an indescribably crunch as you bite into it. So good that I had to refrain from getting a couple more dozens. The oyster chowder had a bit of heat and while not as creamy as some would like it, suited me just fine. The oyster tacos were another highlight - the cornmeal crust adds another texture element and was just wonderful. Nothing like sitting outside, watching patrons buying oysters by the buckets for their parties, and the functioning factory as you chow down by the water. Industrial, family, natural, and just delicious.

The service was great, the staff were friendly, and the oysters were fresh and hot. Came here due to a high school friends family owning it in the past and never knew till now. Pretty area to sit and have lunch/dinner.

The best oysters I have had in a long time. Even though they were short-staffed my order was done quickly and they were all very nice. Love sitting outside with the oyster shell mounds and the water. To look out. Heading back today for more.

Whoa! What a find...I had to learn about this place by word of mouth. Took over a year of living in Reedsport until I learned of this place. Great service! Food was fresh and perfect.

Okay so this is an oyster farm which is about the coolest thing ever to experience. It's rustic in that way so you need to understand that. You order at the counter. The oysters are giant! The mignonette is a thing of beauty. Poke needs to be less sweet but otherwise was fresh and delicious. Staff was really overwhelmed but not their fault and they were extremely nice humans. Come one come all, chill and enjoy this one of a kind extremely fun experience. I loved it!!!
