Stopped in before sight seeing on a thousand islands tour. Just got some slushies. You can make your own or they have premade recipes. They were quite refreshing.

Update: 1 yr later, still great spirits. Delicious: Bourbon Cream, White Raspberry Cream, Lemoncello. They also have cocktails! indoor and outdoor seating available. Friendly staff Wow, what a pleasant surprise, fantastic spirits, nice, friendly staff!

Happy to have come here after seeing too many ads for wineries in the area. The logo looks great and is really easy to spot while driving. The staff were great to talk to and the place had a nice vibe. You can get some tasters of their products for a super low price (just $1). They also have alcoholic slushies, which seem pretty popular around here. I'm a vodka guy, so I just tried some of their interesting products like the berry-flavored vodka and the garlic vodka. Ended up getting the berry-flavored vodka and loved it!

Excellent experience at Clayton Distillery; highly recommend! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable. The bourbon cream is to die for—smooth, rich, and dangerously delicious like nothing I've ever tasted before. If you're visiting during the summer, try one of their lemonade slushies with or without moonshine, they’re refreshingly perfect for beating the heat. You guys got my drunk. What can I say. I bought a bottle of whiskey and got a moonshine slushie. The staff was kind and friendly and the drinks were amazing! It’s a smooth whiskey and has loads of flavors. Worth a visit for sure!

My wife pretty much hates most liquor. She actually liked this stuff. The navy gin rivals Blue Sapphire Bombay, and possibly a bit better. Husband is the distiller and his wife and her sister run the store. We walked out with three bottles of hooch! Get in here!

I called from out of state to order some liquor for my friends birthday and Michelle was so awesome. She had to go through some hoops to make my order go through. Due to them not carrying the exact bottle size and proof from the Clayton Distillery, she had to contact them in order to get the correct products. She did a great job taking care of my order. Thank you!

Nice little place, bartender was nice knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely worth stopping in any time you pass by. 3 free samples then after that quite cheap. Garlic vodka is amazing for a nice spicy morning BM

Great moonshine, whiskey and liquors. Friendly staff. Gonna miss them when the place is sold. Hope new owners keep up the quality and service.

Very reasonably priced. Lemonade slushy with a featured combination of berry vodka, limoncello, and raspberry liqueur is amazing. Flight of 6 spirits $9 is really reasonable too! I would definitely recommend!

During our visit to the 1000 island we scheduled a stop at Clayton Distillery. Oh what fun! Clayton Distillery offers a variety of whiskey, Bourbon, Vodka and moonshines. You can try three samples of what is on the menu for free. We did just that. Due to covid we were required to buy a packet of pretzels for a buck. I selected cherry moonshine, lemonade moonshine and no 99 bourbon mash. I was a fan of all three. I particularly enjoyed the No99 Bourbon mash After you try your samples you can browse around and shop. Since I really enjoyed my tasting of No 99 Bourbon Mash I purchase a small bottle for $10. On this hot summer day, they were offering whisky slushes. It was such a refreshing treat!

Traveling through upstate New York on our way back to Texas from Canada... my husband and I love stopping at local breweries and distilleries to pick up the flavor of a region. Clayton Distillery was amazing! Such a friendly atmosphere and incredible spirits! You can taste the love the distillers put into their craft. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We had a great time touring the store and sampling their unique shine. Ended up buying Apple Pie Shine, maple whiskey, peach vanilla moonshine, rhubarb fraise liqueur and maple strawberry liqueur. A must visit place when your here.

Wow.........do yourself a favor and stop by and sample some amazing bourbon, gin and other superb offerings. Can't wait to get back and try one of the legendary lemon slushies! Wonderfully friendly staff rounds out an overall excellent experience!

Drove down to Clayton just on a whim from Alex Bay NY - have a friend who is a huge whiskey fan and so we decided to stop by and do a tasting. This place is relatively new and is very nice. They have a large range of whisky and bourbons, so we did the 6 flight tasting. All were good, some better than others, however the standout was the thousand islands maple whiskey, which we ended buy several bottles.. Definitely a nice little stop along the way to Cape Vincent and Sackets Harbor..

This place is fantastic... Make sure you have Jenna assist you behind the counter. She makes great recommendations, and really knows her stuff. The moonshine slushies pretty good... But please note, they are all made with a lemon flavor base, so if you're not into that kind of thing, let Jenna know, so she can assist you best. They lose a star because their T-shirts are not fully stocked... And at this point in time only smalls are available.

Good selection of drinks. I had the ice coffee with bourbon. My wife and friend had bourbon slushes They need to have an inside seating area for enjoying your beverage.

First off, you'll put this address to Clayton Distillery in your GPS but it won't get you there. Your best bet is to call and get some landmarks that will help guide you in. Don't worry, the people are very nice and are obviously used to people calling for directions. Again, I love the tasting room costs. Tastings are free for about 4 (or maybe 6) samples of whatever you choose. I sampled the vodka, the gin, and the lemonade moonshine. The vodka was good and didn't have that vodka punch like the macro distilleries. The gin was...different. However, the woman that helped us let know upfront that the gin was...different. It was definitely complex and hit you in layers. The issue was that the layers were all over the place. I couldn't tell if it would be a good gin and soda choice or martini choice or bloody mary choice. What reaaaallly sold me on Clayton Distillery was the Moonshine. So I told the woman I had never had Moonshine and that I didn't want to die. She assured me I wouldn't die and poured me a sample of the lemonade moonshine. YEAAAAA!!! It tasted like hopped up lemonade but not like that cheesy Mike's Hard Lemonade junk. It tasted like it can get you in trouble. Like you'd be sitting on your porch drinking this and not realize you've finished half the bottle. PS it's great mixed with sweet iced tea. The service here was outstanding and they offer tours. Check it out and support micro distilleries.

We stopped by for a 19th hole refreshment after a family outing to play miniature golf. Awesome bourbon frozen lemonade really hit the spot!

Super place. Staff made the tasting experience really fun. They explained how they did everything, recipes, procedures. Their moonshine is fabulous.

Clayton really does have a great 1, 2 punch with their distilleries. This one isn't right downtown but still a nice setting only a few minute drive down the road. Nice bar area and some really good tasting stuff. The maple bourbon is so dang good. Definitely a nice surprise and a must stop

It's free tasting and you get to try their vodka, moonshine, and gin. All with mixers if you need them but they are pretty good on their own. Their gin is incredible and their moonshine makes me hurt to think about it (which I'm pretty sure is what moonshine is suppose to do). I'm not a big liquor drinker, especially not mixed so tastings like this are hard for me. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy the process though (and drinking my leftovers). The tours are 10 dollars (which is a little insane), but it was sort of a private tour and it's on a ask basis so I guess it makes since. You also get a free shot glass with the tour. The tour was interesting it was done by this very young man (everyone working here looked like they were from the local high school, dream job? yes.) anyways, he was very informative, knew how to answer any questions we had, and was able to provide us with a very up close and personal tour, making it worth the ten dollars. The location is perfect (right off 12), and it's in a beautiful field next to a mini golf place. Everything about the place had a nice crisp, clean just put together feel.

Lemoncella is out of this world! We consumed the first bottle in November, and opened the second one on Christmas day. It was a hit, and is now half gone. Time for another trip up north. Raspberry liquor is great, too!

Yesterday, I went to Clayton Distillery for the first time. It was great and the ladies working were very friendly and helpful. When you first walk in, they great you and explain how their taste testing works. They have whiskey, vodka, bourbon, moonshine, and liqueur. You get to taste test three of their products for free, then if you choose to try more, for a dollar (plus tax) you can try two products. I tried the Apple Pie Shine (55 proof), Maple Whiskey, and the Maple Strawberry Liqueur. They were all very nice and the lady helping us gave me some ideas of what is good to mix with each. I ended up purchasing the Maple Strawberry Liqueur because that was my favorite out of the three. It costed $17.00 plus tax and they also give a 10% Military Discount. I cannot wait to drink it with my family!

Excellent products. We had a very hard time choosing what to get!!! The tastings are very helpful - and you will end up tasting a lot! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding. The moonshine slushies are a must. We recommend the bourbon cherry slushie :)

Tasted a few of their product and it was great. I won't go into detail which one I like the most since it's my preference but I can say without any doubt that their products are really good for the price. The lady at the desk was exceptional. I can't quite remember her name but she definitely works and love the company. One of the nicest place in Clayton NY. I love terroir product (aka local) and I'm happy to have found one here. Bought a bottle of their Gin, good stuff.

Free tastings, nice people, it doesn't get any better. The place is brand new, so it's still getting establishing. They have mixers available, but there's no need to pollute the delicious alcohol with mixers. I've had trouble with not liking gin because I don't like the taste, but this place makes a great gin that doesn't taste exactly like you're chewing on a Christmas tree. The distiller and tasting bar person were incredibly friend. Cash register girl was a little snobby. My boyfriend and I came here in August after wine tasting. Great addition to the day and conveniently located right off Route 12.

This place needs to be a stop on all the wine tours. Don't pass this place up. They were renovating while we were their, looks like it's going to look even better. The lady behind the counter was real nice and answered all our questions. And no she was not a high school kid like another review said. They offer free tastings. Too bad they only give you 3. I wish it was more, but I understand why they do it. I had the apple, lemon and cherry pie shine. All were really good but the lemon shine was AWESOME. Have it with real lemonade or Iced tea and you will fall in love. We didn't take the tour or anything because we were pressed for time, but we plan on going back!

3 free tastings and the product was very good. We enjoyed the moonshine slushies. Staff is very nice and was well versed in suggesting mixes and the versatility of their product.

Don't pass by this little gem in Clayton! We loved the "Moonshine slushy" and bought delicious apple pie shine and Lemonade Shine!

The lemonade slushies are delicious and best of all the first few samples are complementary! Fun place to stop by and try a few different things. The bottles are reasonable prices and they have some unique flavors which are quite nice.

Awesome place!! My husband and I stopped in. Staff are super friendly and helpful. I tried the apple pie moonshine ( both 100 and 50 proof - that 100 proof packs a whallop, let me tell you!!) I am not really into fruity flavors in my alcohol, so while I enjoyed trying the shine, I wasn't a fan. But I absolutely loved the maple whiskey - so smooth and the flavor is so rich!! Totally warms tingles from your nose to your toes with this stuff!! I also did like my moonshine slushy, made with raspberry liqueur - that was very good!! Definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the Clayton area!!

Friendly staff. Place is nice and new looking. Everything we tasted was unique and top notch - lemoncello, applepie moonshine, bourbon, lemon moonshine, maple strawberry liquer, and rasberry liquer. We'll definately come back again.

The distillery is very small with only one still which is fine but they charge $10 to tour it. You apparently get a free shot glass :/ $10 to tour this distillery is a joke. The tastings seemed very robotic and scripted. Overall we would probably go back just to support a local distillery if it was on the way. Definitely not a attraction but a place to buy some liqueur.
