I had always wanted to try the meadery in the Kentlands, but never quite got around to it. I was very, very happy to find out that they'd actually moved right behind Dogizone on Gude Drive, where I take my pup. Hey, she gets a bath, I get some mead, this is a pretty good deal (and Clear Skies is dog friendly!).
Upon entering, the area is incredibly well decorated, spacious, and very welcoming. They have quotes from Tolkien and Gaiman, and several other authors.
Their flights of mead are very reasonably priced, and almost every single one I tasted was fantastic (I tried ten... hey, I had two hours). There were a couple that were just "meh," and one I didn't care for at all, but the others were all not only good, but really good.
The staff are all very friendly and attentive, too. I loved that they gave us water without us asking, with the tasting. They also have a fridge up front with a selection of meats and cheese, and little charcuterie boards -- as well as soda and other beverages.
They've got a lot of space, and they're still setting things up, but it'll be really awesome once they get it all set and running. I'm looking forward to pretty regular visits.
