"Located in the heart of downtown Clearwater on Cleveland Street, Clear Sky Cafe is one of Payne’s go-to picks. The global menu includes favorites like Korean barebecue ribs, lamb burgers with tzatziki, and African curry. But Payne always orders the same thing — the Mexican street corn salad: “I'm a creature of habit and I just can't get away from that blackened chicken and charred corn salad,” she said." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We liked this place so much that return twice! Best grouper EVER! The waitress didn’t believe me when I said I have a very bad allergy to the spicy food… after the crying she apologized!!! But everything else amazing!!!!

Clear Sky Cafe is truly top-tier when it comes to premium quality food. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection—fluffy and flavorful. The French toast hit the perfect balance: not too soft, not too firm. I also tried the Greek omelette, and it was bursting with rich flavors that blended beautifully in every bite. The best part? It’s located right in front of a private beach. After the meal, I took a stroll on the powdery-soft sand—it felt like walking on sponge. A perfect start to the day.

This place was highly recommended by people at the conference so we decided to check it out. When we arrived we were greeted and told they’d be a wait of 15-20 minutes which we were okay with. While we waited, we sat on a table that looked like a waiting bench but turned out to be an actual table. When the waiter saw us sitting there he asked if we wanted to stay there (outside) and we agreed to, so the wait was more like 7 minutes. Our waitress gave us a few recommendations and after some thought I decided to get the chicken piccata with a side of mash and asparagus and fries (yes!). The chicken was juicy and moist, the sauce complimented the chicken and the mash. It was delicious! The fries were also perfect and crispy. The only downside was that because we were outside, it was a little windy so our food got cold almost immediately. It was good regardless but I imagine that warm it must be way better. There an entrance to the beach from there too. I walked over when the sun was setting and another breathtaking sunset.

We started the day with breakfast and it was very good. Later that night we were looking for something different for dinner and our hotel bartender recommended for us to go back. We did and it was awesome. Robert our server was great. He enjoyed his job, and it showed. We order the blacked mixed grill. It was out of this world. The chief split the plate for us, that’s what a plus and we order a side of wings. All food was very tasty. The bartender made awesome drinks. She was top notch. Give it a shot. We will be back. Nice job everybody!!

Google
They really changed up the place the ambiance is very good and open. The food is on the pricer side but the portions are massive and the quality is really good. They had a super thick burger patty much larger than what is typical. The toppings were fresh and overall a very flavourful burger. Would recommend.

Google
This place is amazing. We ate here twice on our trip. Food was so AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS - we had a shrimp salad, Cajun pasta, and the tuna melt. Service was amazing. And the drinks tasted so good. We loved the Blue Mai Tai. Can’t wait to come back.

Google
We had the square deal meal for breakfast. It included pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of meat, and red potatoes. The meal was great. The potatoes were great, bacon and sausage were cooked nice and crisp, and the pancakes were good. My eggs were supposed to be over medium, however they were over easy, as seen in the photos. The other two eggs were fried hard and were spot on. They did offer to recook my eggs, but I went ahead and ate the ones I had.

Google
We ordered short beef rib and Mandalay chicken; this was fine dining standard- especially the short rib. Top quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Reasonably priced too. Pleasant atmosphere, great service and very clean throughout. Recommended unreservedly.

Marcia N.

Yelp
Tasty. Very tasty! And service was pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend to locals as well as visitors.

Becky C.

Yelp
Ate breakfast there. The food was really good and the service was friendly and fast! Go early, though. It's small and busy. (Confirmation of the goodness of the experience!) This place is a keeper!

Brandon R.

Yelp
The breakfast is great. The prime rib was awful. Awful awful, waste of money I would eat breakfast here again but def no steak dinners after that experience

Candice P.

Yelp
My family and I recently dined here, and our experience was beyond amazing. We chose to sit at an outside table under an umbrella, which provided a lovely atmosphere for our meal. The service was exceptional, thanks to our sweet and attentive server from Pennsylvania (I wish I could remember her name!). She ensured we had everything we needed throughout our visit. I started with a strawberry mimosa, which was delightful. A quick tip for those sitting outside: the heat can get to your drink, so don't hesitate to ask for some ice if you need it. For my main course, I ordered the lobster omelette, and it was phenomenal. The portion of lobster in the omelette was perfect, and it was cooked to perfection. The grits that came with it were equally fantastic. Our son had two eggs with cheese, grits, and sausage, and he devoured his meal. My husband ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which he described as very satisfying. He says it had the flavor that he was expecting in a Latin genre of breakfast. Overall, our experience here was wonderful, and we will definitely be returning the next time we're in Clearwater. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Perfect find on Yelp. We were visiting Orlando with extended family for summer vacation but a few beach bums in the party needed some beach access so we headed to Clearwater. Yelp led us to this spot and it checked all of the boxes. Natalie was a breath of fresh air and super kind. A Pear mimosa started my brunch experience. I'm not quite sure it was pear versus pomegranate but it was good. It was hard to choose which seafood omelette to get with all of the amazing options. I landed on the Lobster omelette and I couldn't have been happier. The amount of chunks of lobster in that omelette was ridiculous! It was probably one of the best omelettes I've ever had. I don't eat grits but something said try the smoked Gouda grits. The one who doesn't like grits could barely stop eating them. I had the English muffin, too, and it was good. Perfect spot to try when in the area!

Brittany C.

Yelp
Started with a strawberry mimosa and hot coffee. Scrambled eggs (cheese was forgotten), sausage, bacon (which was forgotten also), a side of potato wedges and chocolate chip pancakes. The pancakes were crispy. Food was overall basic diner food

Daniel Y.

Yelp
Wanted to find a good restaurant before we set off for our sunset cruise in the gulf. Search out this restaurant on you guessed it, yelp started with the tuna nachos and the char grilled octopus both good appetizer to start. Grill tuna and sushi bowl as well as the braised short rib for the entrees. Entrees were all good my braised short rib was very tender and seasoned well. Not sure I would've paired the gnocchi pasta with the braised rib.

Yelp
We're back! I absolutely love this diner. Came back here to Clearwater Florida for Phillies spring training and was so excited to come back to this cafe. Ordered the lobster omelette and a coffee and it was so delicious. Our server was so nice and attentive. We always get great service here at this cafe. We were seated outside and the weather was beautiful while enjoying the food. Vibes were just amazing here. I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of coming to this place a lot before heading back to Philly. Highly recommend!!!!!

Shawn S.

Yelp
No complaints. No additions. Just order. Very refreshing mimosa and this entree is light and perfect for heading to the beach afterwards. Loaded with lobster! Our waitress was so bomb!

Ally P.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday early afternoon for breakfast. We waited around 15-20 mins for a table. It wasn't too bad of a wait. This place was perfect. Although it didn't have an ocean view it was right near the beach. It has kind of a diner vibe with plenty of seating inside and a few outside. The food was delicious. I pretty much finished my whole meal and left no crumbs. The wait staff was amazing and so friendly. I would definitely come back to this place again.

Carlos M.

Yelp
Nice little spot. We sat in the outdoor covered patio since it was very nice out. The service was decent even though the server was hard to find towards the end, I believe because his shift was ending. The food was good. We had - Lobster Omelette - Chunks of Maine lobster and spinach, topped with mornay sauce. I added avocado to it. This was delicious and fresh. Generous portion of lobster. I ordered the homestyle potatoes for my side which were delicious. 4/5 ($18 + $2.95 for the avocado, uncharge was a bit steep) Cinnamon Bun French Toast - Homemade cinnamon bun dipped in egg batter. WOW These were awesome and definitely worth a try. Very indulgent but also delicious, completely worth the excess calories. We split one as dessert and still had left overs for later. 5/5 ($13.00) I also tried some of their steak and eggs which were not great. The steak didn't taste like it was very fresh, I feel like it might have been frozen. I enjoyed our visit. I would recommend trying them out if you're in the area.

Nati A.

Yelp
We sat at the bar for brunch and were taken care of superbly. Food was excellent. Prices were great. The ambiance was lively, but not overwhelmingly so. We'd been here once before and they were just as excellent. I always recommend it when asked.

Ken C.

Yelp
Overall this was a solid spot to eat in Clearwater. First day I had Lobster ravioli and it was good. Had a lot of lobster pieces too so that was a plus. Had a good experience so went back the next day and got the chicken bacon club sandwich and that was just okay. Chicken was pretty dry and bacon had a slight burnt flavor to it. However the coleslaw on the side was interesting. Service was decent.

Michael Y.

Yelp
Omg so good. Had huevos rancheros. Eggs cooked perfectly on a tortilla Potatoes were nicely done. They take give a bunch of toppings to put on the eggs and potato's which was nice. Also got eggs Benedict. They were pretty near perfect.

Abdullah A.

Yelp
Labor Day stay-cation brunch. Got there a little early at 10:30; no wait for a table of two. The vibes are nicer diner heavily flavored with "Florida vacation", with colorful sea turtle artwork hanging, and the shadows of palm trees silhouetted over the window blinds. I had the gulf coast omelette and boy was it loaded; mahi, shrimp, crab, scallops, spinach, and tomatoes topped with a creamy white sauce. They did not skimp on the seafood, especially impressive at the low price point. I upgraded my side from potatoes to fruit, a pro play which really brightened up the meal. The biggest standout of the meal was the biscuit. Honestly I hadn't planned on eating it. One bite just out of curiosity and j was hooked. The biscuit was so perfectly buttery, just a little salty, and a hint of crispy. Amazing. My wife's veggie Benedict with a side of potatoes scratched the Benedict itch that she'd been having. I thought the hollandaise sauce was very well balanced. Our server was friendly and prompt without hovering. Prices were lower than one would expect for a popular spot with high quality food in a tourist locale. Bonus points for a small lot with free parking. We would definitely come back for brunch if we're ever in the neighborhood again.

Holly W.

Yelp
We ate breakfast here both days of our visit. Everything from the staff, to the food was great. Prices are really good too! Not so much of a "tourist trap". They have indoor and outdoor seating. Both are very nice. We will have to try lunch there sometime!

Chad B.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and the price was appropriate. They have nice outdoor seating that isn't in direct sunlight. We walked past this place in previous years but after reading, good reviews, we decided to try it. We will no longer walk past it in the coming years. It's a great local spot. We asked two different people where we should have lunch and both of them recommended this place so we thought we would give it a shot! We had the tuna melt, and the buttermilk chicken sandwich grilled. The french fries had great texture with a nice crunch. Would go again, maybe even this week!

Nicole H.

Yelp
On my flight to Tampa, I was sitting next to two women. One was on her first flight & the other lived in Tampa. The young lady traveling for the 1st time was also coming to enjoy her birthday. We were strongly advised to check out Clear Sky Cafe. I have to say, I am glad I listened to her suggestions . The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend this location.

Eva P.

Yelp
Love this place they have awesome lunch specials too. The insides, a little bit more classy in the area that is in the back is much more casual.. huge bar. They even have limited outside seating.- parking sucks though

Christina C.

Yelp
My husband took me here for dinner while we were in town for the day! Clear Sky has a few different locations in the Clearwater area, but this location in particular is off of Mandalay near the pier and beach. A good thing I noticed right away is there were several items on the menu that sounded really great, so it made it difficult for me to decide what to try! Thankfully our server was very patient with me lol. After taking some time to go over the menu I opted for an espresso martini to drink (dark is the best way to enjoy), the wagyu/kobe sliders which had Brie cheese & jalapeño onion jam on it! Instead of sticking with the usual fries as a side I subbed it out for their lobster Mac! The sliders were the perfect size and just what I needed to fill up! The Brie and onion jam paired together perfectly as well! Surprisingly the lobster Mac had a crispy layer on top and was very tasty! My husband ordered the pan seared grouper with lemon risotto which was to die for. This was such a great experience for a restaurant that was chosen by guessing! Next time we are at the beach we will be back to try out some more items!

Yelp
Clear sky remains in our rotation of places to eat. We try to check out a new place weekly but we still keep coming back to Clear sky because of their consistent quality food, excellent service and frankly amazing happy hour prices. When feeling tight on the budget a 1/2 price flatbread, a few 9oz pours if house wine and walk out after tip with less than $20 bill is unheard of these days. Also their brunch is excellent with their bloody mary bar where you can have your bloody mary your way with options galore.

Eddie C.

Yelp
Nice locals spot but also touristy. The service is great. I was here for both lunch and dinner a couple of times. I have sat at a table and at the bar, both time service was very consistent. The food is great, if you are looking for a sandwich or an entree you can't go wrong. Seafood lovers like myself will appreciate the local selections. Honorabke mention for their seafood grill entree.

Char D.

Yelp
The dynamite shrimp were perfect for an appetizer! I totally forgot to take a photo because after the first bite, I couldn't stop from going back in for another one. The Ahi salad was amazing! The dressing is sweet but savory at the same time- delicious! The ramen bowl was pretty great as well! I did ask for the chili crisps to be on the side instead of in the bowl, and I'm glad I did. That chili crisp added a different level of spice! The soy sauce egg in this bowl was my favorite part about it! Our bartender, Nick, was so nice and chatty. He made us feel so welcomed and made great suggestions. There was a band on the patio so go if you are looking for a great time to dance and be social. Went back the next day for lunch as well- did not disappoint.

Clint S.

Yelp
4++ Food & Drinks - Starting with a Bloody Mary and loaded it up with everything. Really good and almost a meal in itself. We had heard the French toast was good so we went with the pecan French toast and the cinnamon bun French toast. The pecan was very good really well done with candied pecans and a nice cinnamon butter. The cinnamon bun French toast was amazing. Doesn't need syrup to make it great. It is a sweet, rich and melt in your mouth bite after bite. Service - Server was good and checked on us from time to time. Had a little bit of a wait for brunch but with the quality of food, I can understand. Ambiance - It has a nice balance of inside and outside seating. Very clean and a little more upscale than some other restaurants along the beach. I would definitely recommend and would probably go back to try some of the omelets or other popular dishes.

Ali C.

Yelp
I was out on the beach for work and needed a quick dinner so I ordered carry out on their website which was so easy and was ready pretty quick. The mushroom soup is so creamy and tasty! I also enjoy the crab hush puppies. I have eaten here for breakfast as well and never had a bad meal or service. Small bar area, indoor and outdoor seating. They have a kids menu. Limited parking and a block off the beach. Enjoy!!

C R.

Yelp
Really wanted to give this place 5 stars. Unfortunately their menu is misleading and we weren't the only party who came in and ordered something that is no longer on the menu. Other than that, the food we did receive was delicious.

Nicole B.

Yelp
On recommendations came here for dinner on Mother's day. Although busy the staff moved quickly to find us the perfect table that was not too close to the music but still outside under the patio cover. The server was very friendly and had good drink recommendations- the prickly pear margarita was a unique specialty cocktail and good. The bruschetta was light and refreshing and made for a great appetizer. The grilled seafood came out perfect, with tasty vegetables and rice on the side. They didn't skimp on the seafood and everything was well portioned. The music was a comfortable noise level and there was a mix of patrons there, usually a good sign, and had relaxed beach vibes. It's been a while since I've been able to give a five star review.. so it was nice to find a place with consistency all around. Though we were too full for dessert we look forward to returning here on our next trip.

Lori G.

Yelp
Avocado toast and left coast omelet...excellent! Service always wonderful and bloody marys look amazing...

Joseph S.

Yelp
It's not a bad place at all. Nice selection on the menu and a nice vibe. I was a little dissatisfied with the breakfast skillet bowl because the eggs came scrambled. I wasn't given a choice, and I do not recall the menu saying it came that way. I may try something else next time.

Theresa V.

Yelp
A fun friendly place to hang out with delicious food and sometimes entertainment ... menu offers something a good variety with something that would appeal to most people.

Patrick H.

Yelp
Located just off the beach near the Sand Pearl resort this little place is always good. I'd eaten enough fish this trip and so I went with the burger. It was cooked perfectly and the fries were nice and crispy. My iced tea was always refilled without me having to ask which was much appreciated.

Marcia A.

Yelp
I'm a regular at this location and love their food and great service. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options or you can sit at the bar. The brunch menu has something for everyone and prices to fit your budget. Great customer service. There is plenty of parking in the back entrance.

Michelle M.

Yelp
This place is always hopping but we were able to get a seat inside without a wait. It is very loud but clean and classy. Our server Rick was outstanding, he gets five stars--very helpful and attentive. My husband had a hazy IPA draft and I had a fruity mojito. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos for our appetizer. The wontons were light and airy, it was delicious but needed a lot more sriracha aioli and was not as good as Salty's. My husband ordered the Thai peanut pasta but sent it back because the pasta was wayyyyy over cooked and mushy. He ended up with a pizza instead and it was incredible. So so delicious! I had the blacked mixed grill. The snapper, shrimp, and scallops were good but also a smidge overcooked. Still yummy though--but the best thing on my plate was the jasmine rice--it was cooked perfectly. All in all, the best part of our experience was Rick, our server. We might come back for breakfast but we probably wouldn't for dinner--unless it was for pizza. So our recommendation is order the pizza.

Kim O.

Yelp
Uh wow. Came here post beach and they were so genuinely kind and happy to get us dinner. My teenager declared the pork ramen as "life changing." The portion size was enough to share and we all agreed - ramen is fire! The Mandalay Chicken was perfection - veggies were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The chicken was tender and Brie sauce on top with cooked spinach... I think I need to use words from another language to express the deliciousness. Our table also ordered the Clear Sky sushi roll, kids grilled cheese, the cheese flatbread and Fried Rice bowl. The only "complaint" - we wished there was more! (But seriously portion sizes were great). Truly worth all the other 5-star reviews. And if you like ramen- do it!!!!!

Len R.

Yelp
Had breakfast at this place on our summer vacation. Staff were friendly, quick seating. Highly recommended the beignets with berries. Will return for another breakfast.

Sheila M.

Yelp
The brisket brussel sprouts are the bomb! The wings were pretty good too. My husband had the grouper tacos, he said they weren't very flavorful, but for the most part the food is very good. The hostesses needed some training on charm, but our server was very nice. The dining area was comfortable. We like Clear Sky!

Randy B.

Yelp
Stopped in for post sunset dinner Sunday. Greeted and seated quickly. Mad Dog Maddy was our server and we couldn't have been more pleased. Accommodating and funny. Wife had the 6 oz fillet with "baked" potato and asparagus. I had the pork dumpling appetizer and for meal I had the clear sky roll with side of broccoli Steak cooked perfectly. Wife enjoyed it. Potatoes weren't what she expected. Not bad just wasn't advertised as "twice baked". Not a game changer. We were surprised to hear that adding sour cream was $2. Again. Not a big deal just awareness. Clear sky roll was hands down the best roll I have had in last 5 years. Shrimp and spicy tuna etc. pork dumplings come with 3 dipping sauces. Spicy, hoisin based and a peanut sauce. All very good. Pork was seasoned well. To die for. Service is the key and Mad Dog made it great. Thank her for us We will be back.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Very friendly service and food was good! The outside section was the perfect combo of inside and outside for those hot Florida days.

Pete A.

Yelp
They say you eat with your eyes get ready for a delicious meal I have never been to a tourist area where everyone seems so happy at work Inside or covered patio seating. Nice breeze from the beach Had a stuffed breakfast burrito ! With fresh potatoes Service was perfect! Quick friendly

Hannah S.

Yelp
Cute little spot in Clearwater for Mother's Day brunch did not disappoint! We had a 9:30 reservation and had a short wait to be seated, which is understandable given the holiday weekend. We had a nice table outside and got lucky with some clouds in the sky, making it a perfect backdrop for our brunch. We ordered the beignets with fresh fruit for the table. They were plenty to go around and their flakiness didn't disappoint us. The meat lovers omelette was also a fan favorite, with large chunks of bacon, ham, and sausage, although the cheese was a bit lacking. Overall a great experience and would head back there when we are back in town!

Don K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere!!! Food was well prepared and looked good on the plate. Not too little or too much. Staff was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be stopping again!

Tia F.

Yelp
This is the Clearwater Beach location. It was nice. We sat outside on the patio. The food is decent. The service was fine.

Brittany P.

Yelp
My favorite food place during our family trip! Great brunch and drinks during the day and amazing singers/bands at night. Service was also fast after getting a table, space is small, but worth the crowd!

Riggs M.

Yelp
Servings are record breaking tiny. Ordered grits and it was gone in four bites. Ordered a waffle and it was gone in 6 bites. I am 175lbs and don't eat large portions so it was fine for me but I don't think it was good or worth $18 after tip and taxes. Actually already hungry which is very rare for me. If u eat a lot of food expect to pay $60 to $100 per person is my guess.

Michael P.

Yelp
Really excellent food with an unusual and eclectic menu. The atmosphere was very Beach, Island and not crowded together.

Mark R.

Yelp
Stopped by when in town. Breakfast here is great. Large selection. Great staff. The french toast was great. Large amount so make sure to ask for less.

Michele S.

Yelp
Have eaten here many times. Always try something different and I am always pleased with my meal. They also make great pizza. Give it a try.

Lori C.

Yelp
Clear Sky is always a go to when in Clearwater Beach! Whether it's a weekend brunch or dinner it never disappoints. The beach ambience outside and dark wood inside makes this place as casual or romantic as you could want. There has been good live music when I have been.. The staff always pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. It had been a while since we had been, the menu was extensive with wide variety of for any tastes. We started with the Brussel sprouts with bacon, goat cheese and balsamic, oh my they were perfectly crispy with crispy bacon and a couple dollops of goat cheese, yum yum! I had the Pan Seared Grouper with risotto and spinach, and husband enjoyed a big bowl of the Seafood Jambalaya both were perfectly cooked and delicious with generous portions. After dinner we walked just a few yards and saw another beautiful sunset

Toni R.

Yelp
Awesome place. Stopped for breakfast on our way to Anna Maria Island this morning. Food was excellent with a selection for all tastes. Ambiance was great with a beach vibe but the topper was the service! Briana, our server, was fantastic! Made us feel like we were back home at our local place! Coming back for dinner!
