"Just 20 minutes away from Grand Canyon's South Rim, Clear Sky Resorts offers arguably the region's most unique lodging: geodesic domes. We were so excited for our trip to the Grand Canyon and our stay at Clear Sky Resorts. It seemed like such a cool place to stay. We opted for the pac-man room. It cost a little more than the other rooms, but we thought the gaming machine would be fun for our kids. But, the buttons on the video game didn't work. ||But a broken video game was the lease of our problems. These domes were really poorly constructed. Honestly, it was a disaster. ||Our dome leaked for the two nights we were there. The rugs were soaked, our beds had puddles, and our faces were sprayed all night with water droplets. The in-dome heaters were not strong enough to keep the dome warm even had it been dry. So we were freezing in addition to being wet! Some of our phone chargers got so wet that they no longer work. This was not a small amount of water. ||The projection dome room was also freezing. We wore parkas and blankets because the heaters were insufficient. ||To be clear, the staff was great; they were friendly, sympathetic, and gave us great tips for our days in the Grand Canyon. The staff did what they could to help us, offering food vouchers and extra towels (which we needed to cover our floors because they were so wet and slippery it was dangerous). The food was also delicious.| |However, even a fabulous staff and a good meal was not enough to keep us dry. The owners need to fix the structures so they are watertight. We cannot recommend anyone stay at these domes unless improvements are made.

Our family (2 adults and 2 kids aged 16 and 9) stayed in a Grand Canyon XL dome at Clear Skys for 2 nights and overall had a great time.||The location is off the highway 64 from Williams to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, about 30 minutes to the park entrance. Probably need to have your google maps or equivalent on to find it and hold your nerve as you drive down the bumpy road to get there!||The views from the location were amazing - great Arizona landscapes and amazing sunrises and sunsets. ||The dome itself is also great for views - you can keep the curtain open for a permanent view and also the roof view open to see the stars from inside your bed. In terms of sleeping there was one large bed downstairs and then a small upstairs sleeping area for the kids with separate mattresses on the floor. Their feedback is that they have preferred an actual bed! The Dome itself has everything you would need in terms of working toilet/hot shower, AC/heating, electricity, lighting, power points etc. It is much closer to a hotel room than Glamping. It is quite well used with some cracks in the flooring but only to be expected given the environment. The only improvement I would look for would be if the AC/heating system could be quieter as that took a little away from the remote experience. One night we were there it got down to near freezing temperatures and it was just about warm enough, but not sure what it would be like if it got even colder.||In terms of the resort, they have done a great job with activities with a Bounce mat, kids playground, corn hole and live entertainment each night with free smores by the fire pit which we loved. There is also a food truck tent which we had breakfast and dinner at both days where the food was pretty good, decent choice and reasonable priced.||Have to of course mention the clear sky at night - not sure I have seen so many stars and that was amazing - I tried some night sky photos for the first time after being inspired by what we were seeing.||Overall a great experience that we won't forget - think 2 nights was the right amount of time to stay as it was nice to get to a more normal room for the next leg of our trip.

We absolutely loved this desert glamping resort with sustainability as a theme. Slightly nervous on arrival as we knew the night temp was dropping to minus 7 degrees centigrade but we needn’t have worried. The domes are super heated or air conditioned so as to make desert living enjoyable and the welcome from Jordan, David and Elaine was as warm as Arizona sunshine.||We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent ‘cooked to order’ food from Victor in the food truck which we ate in the large dining dome. Live music in the bar/main dome as well as s’mores round the campfire, and highlight of the evening was Craig, local astronomer sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm and state of the art digital tracking telescopes so we could learn about the incredibly starry Arizona sky and were lucky to see Saturn! Blankets readily provided as a bit chilly! Back at our sleeping dome we rolled back the ceiling blind so we could gaze at the stars from the luxury of our comfy bed.|Nothing was too much trouble to our hosts: we asked for a kettle and it arrived at once. I think this resort would appeal to all age groups and the giant bouncing pillow in the grounds isn’t just for kids!|We hope to try their sister resort at Bryce Canyon next time.

Me and my partner recently stayed here, the staff were nothing but helpful, polite and friendly! Dome was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the bed was incredibly plush, like sleeping on a cloud! The bathroom was equally impressive, with top-notch amenities! We had an amazing view of the sky! Highly recommend

A Magical Getaway at Clear Sky’s Resort Our stay at Clear Sky’s Resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking grounds and the peaceful atmosphere. The resort is impeccably maintained, with stunning views and thoughtful details that make it feel like a true oasis. My family and I had the best time exploring, relaxing, and creating cherished memories together. They offered complimentary s’mores ( so fun for kids & adults ) We ate at their restaurant and the food was delicious. One night we got to enjoy a movie in the restaurant and the other live music truly spectacular! The hospitality was exceptional, and every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Whether you’re looking for a serene escape or a place to stay while you visit Bryce Canyon ( A MUST ), Clear Sky’s Resort is the perfect destination. We can’t wait to return and relive the magic all over again. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Clear Sky! We arrived and they drove us to our Dome and helped with luggage. We did have some trouble with our door locking but they were quick to come out and fix the issue. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful! The Dome was very clean and had everything we needed. The stars at night were amazing! Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back with our kids - they had so much for kids to do. Smores, movie dome, food truck, play ground, jumping pillow and the list goes on.

I want to thank Elena (front desk) for making our trip to the Grand Canyon so amazing. We only had one day to visit so she drew a detailed map showing us how to get the best experience with our time. She gave us recommendations that we would have never figured out on our own and we had the best time! I’m so glad we didn’t pay for a tour because her self-guided tour was incredible! We had a wonderful stay here and our 9 year old son absolutely loved it, especially the giant bounce pad. The location is amazing because it’s secluded and only 30 minutes from the Grand Canyon. Although the weather kept us from seeing the stars we will be back to experience it because it is the perfect place to stargaze. We loved the complimentary s’more’s every night and the food was really good. We stayed in the 80s video game dome and our son loved it! This is such a unique experience and my recommendation is to think of it as camping rather than a resort. The rooms are not spotless because they’re out in the middle of nowhere in the elements. If it rains you might get a few leaks, which was no big deal to us but to some it may be. Our dome was very close to the main area and my only complaint is that the music was rather loud for my liking. I like to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and when the food truck was open the music was pretty loud, even late in the evening when we were trying to go to sleep. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will definitely be back!

Staying at the Clear Sky Resort was such a unique experience. I would definitely recommend staying here even if it’s just for 1 night. The vibe of the resort is camping style. As far as food, they have a food truck at the front of the resort that you can walk to for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have different menus and a variety of food to select from. (Food at the food truck is not complimentary) At night, they had campfires and gave out free s’more kits to all campers. The resort definitely lives up to its’ name in the evening. We could see so many stars in the sky. Unfortunately, pictures do not do it justice. The dome we stayed in was clean, and actually feels very spacious inside. There is a sliding feature on the ceiling of the dome that you can choose to open at night to see the stars as you lie in bed. We had a great time here.

Yelp
Clear Sky Resorts offers a unique glamping experience. We stayed in the Grand Canyon XL Dome which can sleep about five people and is spotless. The name lives up to reality, the sky was crystal clear. We visited at the end of October so be prepared for cold weather. The sunrise and sunset are epic. There is a food truck on site, I loved the Bananas Foster Belgium Waffle, so good. They also offer snacks. The staff are really nice and they even send daily text messages of any updates happening at the resort. The Grand Canyon is near as well as the Red Mountain trail. It was so nice to get away. The views were incredible. Regarding transportation, we flew into Phoenix airport and rented a car. The resort is about a three-hour drive, the drive down is nice. There is also a smaller airport, Flag Staff nearby. Clear Sky Resorts also offers stargazing tours, live music, and bonfires. Check this resort out if you are looking for a place to disconnect.

Yelp
The domes, scenery, overall vibe, and staff were fantastic. They had live music, outdoor fire pits, games, and stargazing. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The "cavatelli" looked like the picture below and essentially was just Mac and cheese. The churros were dry and hard. The apple cider was the only thing that was actually good. The concept is lovely in general, only tough part with the food being so bad is you'd have to drive 30 minutes closer to the Grand Canyon or 30 minutes closer to flagstaff for good food. (Just something to consider if tight on time).

Yelp
So much fun, really nice and clean domes with full baths, heat and a/c. The food in the dining some is 4 stars too. We had so much fun and the sky window in the ceiling is outstanding for looking at. Enjoy the s'mores, nightly movie, bonfire and a musician in the welcome center and

Yelp
This is an experience. An opportunity to escape the endless hub of the city and escape to the Grand Canyon. Make sure you do your research on the weather and when you think you've packed the perfect outfit... check again. The staff was friendly and warm and provided concierge service. While in your car you follow them to your designated parking and they walk you through your dome "How to's". The dorms are big and spacious. If you have a large family these are the perfect rooms for you. They have a lot of activities on the grounds to keep you and your family busy. Parks with swings, slides, a trampoline that isn't really a trampoline, movie night, bonfires, a projection room and much more. They have a strict rule about food. I'm assuming for your safety and wildlife being around. As a result they have a food truck with a variety of options. Personally the pizza was a decent size and could feed at least 3 people in your party. The wings sold out so I would take that as a sign that they are pretty good. They also offer breakfast and lunch so you don't have to leave the grounds if you don't want to Now I know what you're thinking. Why am I giving a 3 when I've written all these wonderful things The devil is in the details They have bikes for you to ride but many of those bikes are broken, missing pedals, and just don't work. They have a bonfire for s'mores but the fire gets low and you have to go to the staff to ask them to place more wood on the fire. Which is fine but it may take 15 minutes before a staff member assists you. They offer movie night but a herd of people stood outside waiting to be let in. The shower water didn't get hot so a cold shower on a winter night at 33 degrees was well The heater in the room didn't get very warm and the extra floor heater didn't work at all so we were in for a chilly night. The space bunk beds have what looks like cool buttons for the kids to play with. Special space lights and blasting but none of it works. The overall dome is not clean and the rooms need attending to I love the concept of this property and I'm sure they will continue to grow. These changes and attention to details will only enhance their experiences

Yelp
We stayed at Clear Sky on our way to the Grand Canyon. What a fun experience! From the moment we checked in at the Welcome Dome, we knew this was going to be cool. The staff was friendly, talkative and helpful. We were guided as to where to park, and then the staff member took us and our luggage out to our Panorama Dome, as you can't park next to your dome, which was fine. We stepped inside to stunning desert views. We were shown all the ins and outs of the dome, and then left to unpack and take in the beauty surrounding us. We then walked to the food truck, but were told the dining dome was open and we could order inside and take a seat at a table. Everything was decorated for Halloween and the staff was great. There were plenty of food options and yes a bit pricey, but the portions were huge. So much so, we took 1/2 of one dish back to our mini fridge in the dome for a late night snack under the stars. The staff texts often with updates of what is happening, if your dome isn't ready upon arrival, you can park and enjoy all the activities on property and they will text you when it is ready. We were having trouble with one of the heater's in our dome, so we texted the staff and immediately someone was at our dome to show us a trick on the controller. Our dome was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom, which I understand is very hard to do when you are in the middle of the desert. We slept great, it was peaceful and quiet, the bed was comfy and the gift of slippers was a very nice touch. Clear Sky was a great way to camp without camping and having to do the cooking and cleaning. We loved it! The activities on property are extensive. The welcome dome has games, music in the evening, there is a jumping bag, tricycle race track, Frisbee golf and after dark the baskets and frisbee's light up so you can play after dark. They have a small observatory dome. The night we were there they were showing a film. After dark they light several fire pits and offer S'More kits for no charge, which was fun to sit out by the fire and enjoy a favorite camp snack. The food truck food was delicious and nice to have. Yes it is pricey, but we knew that going in. It was a unique and one of a kind experience we won't soon forget. From what the staff tells us, they are opening more around the U.S. The video clips we were able to get of the night sky from the deck of our dome are breathtaking. Views most of us don't get. So all in all well worth the money spent for a quirky and unique experience.

Yelp
There are smores every night. They set up a campfire. It's so fun. There is a movie room and they have movie showings throughout the night. There's stargazing organized. There's a giant trampoline. Pretty good location and near Grand Canyon. They have a food truck and serve breakfast and dinner. Staying in a dome is super fun.

Yelp
I can't recommend Clear Skies Grand Canyon enough. The staff is exceptional from check-in until check-out. Shout out to Alfredo from Mexico, James from South Africa, and Elena from the States who made a lasting impression. Hold onto them and treat them well Clear Skies because they will make guests want to come back, as will the domes and starry skies on clear nights, and complimentary smores kits, and special events like stargazing led by an expert. Things I appreciated as a person who doesn't like camping but loves nature: a golf cart ride to my dome so I don't have to lug luggage on the gravel path; air conditioning for hot days and nights and heat for the opposite; a nice shower (and toilet) in a separate room from the sink, which is also separated by another door to the rest of the room: the suspended chair centered in the front of the dome; the deck, chairs and hammock for stargazing; that the staff moved the queen bed down from the loft for us; the comfy sheets and fluffy towels; and mostly for how warm, welcoming, and friendly the entire staff was. I would not hesitate to return again and again and highly recommend Clear Skies Grand Canyon to everyone looking for a unique experience in a well-run glamping facility.

Yelp
Currently staying here!! I don't want to leave! Run, don't walk and book your stay here at Clear Sky Resort Grand Canyon, Arizona. From the minute you pull in, you are surrounded by nature and beauty. Check in was easy and friendly and the lady that helped us was very friendly with information and gave us a golf cart ride and helped us bring our bags in and showed us all over our dome. Our dome was amazing with beautiful views of the sunrise and we even had a window in the ceiling so that we could see the stars at night. This place is beautiful, surrounded by nature and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The s'mores and campfire were very, very cozy and the stargazing tour was very well planned out and fun. The food truck food was very highly quality and tasty. Everyone has been so friendly! Highly recommend this place, great for families and great for couples getaways. I will be booking again!!

Yelp
Total rip off!! Not worth the money. We stayed with 4 adults and 2 children in one dome d it was horrible!!! It was ice cold when we arrived, like freezing. The heating didn'twork like it should and it made a loud noise the whole night. The floor is freezing cold too. One couple could sleep in a nice big bed. The other couple needed to sleep on a matrass on the floor. Unbelievable!!!!! The plastic windows are not near, so you see shit thru it! The stairs are super steep and dangerous at night. Nice pictures on the website, but a horrible experience.

Yelp
Rooms- do not think you are coming to a five star resort. This is glamping. With that said, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the water stayed nice and warm for a good shower... just give it a few minutes to store more hot water... the views are out of this world. Waking up at three in the morning and seeing tons of stars was priceless. The food truck had delicious options. Not the cheapest but not outrageously priced either especially for convenience. The atmosphere is wonderful- from the employees warm welcomes, activities to do onsite if you want, and great location to Grand Canyon and Williams. For my husband who would never camp, this was the best option for him to experience some of the fun!!

Yelp
I really wish I had paid more attention to the low rating reviews. The pictures looked awesome but once there, it was a different story. Our bill was over $1,200 for only 2 nights. It was a celebration so we splurged. Because of the price tag, our expectations were higher. Pros: - The jumping pillow was great! - Entertainment at night was nice. Music, s'mores and such. - Views from outside the dome were nice. - Front Desk texts you when things are happening (music at the welcome dome, open food truck, fire for s'mores, etc) Cons: - The room needed some serious elbow grease! Granted, you expect some dust because you're in the middle of the desert but this was YEARS of neglect. - Bathroom had a HORRIBLE SMELL! - Shower had grime in it - made it hard to get in. - Bunk beds in the Space Dome were not working (lights and features) - Upstairs beds were just dirty old mattresses on the floor. - Space in general - it's advertised as a 7 person dome but we were 4 and we barely fit. - Clear part of the dome was quite dirty so you couldn't really see anything. - Food truck- again, price tag wasn't worth it. Overall it was a low stars kind of place charged as a Four Seasons. However, the concept is great and I do believe that a bit of TLC will go a long way.

Yelp
My family and I had an amazing time here. They were so kind to go the extra mile in helping us celebrate our anniversary with a Prosecco bottle, heart shaped rose petals on our bed, & a handwritten note. We stayed in the James Bond themed room and had so much fun taking photos! The only thing is because we went in the summer and even though there was AC, the top where the kids sleeping area was, still didn't cool as fast as the rest of the room. Thankfully, we were out most of the afternoon exploring the amenities the place had to offer. We played some games, the kids jumped on that huge trampoline thing, rode the little trikes, kids played on the playground, & just so many activities! We were blessed to have live music during sunset. So we enjoyed that eating our dinner from the food truck avail on site. The only issue is the cafeteria dome next to it was super smelly that day and you could smell it without even having to go inside. That was a turn off. However, there were much better spots around to sit and enjoy our food. We got our free s'mores kit and did that over a campfire before heading back to our dome. We would definitely recommend this place. I will say though that before checking out ensure all that was charged to your card is correct. I actually did ask for this before leaving but they weren't for some reason able to give it to me and said they would just email it. Which they did a few hours later and I did notice some discrepancies in which I called to let them know and it took a few days to get it all sorted out.

Yelp
Great a service cute eco friendly place in the middle of the desert. Food was amazing actually and the pods were comfortable. It was freezing at night Nd the heat did not work well in the room so beware. Live music movies at night s'mores and all kinds of games available for you to use. I loved the experience.

Yelp
What a wonderful time! My husband, pre-teen son and I stayed here for a night as part of our Grand Canyon trip. We were fortunate and got pod #21 which faces North to the expansive open and was away from the cluster of other pods, which we really liked. Service: 5 stars. Everyone here was really pleasant. There were lots of international exchange students working here which lends to the charm. Our concierge brought our suitcases into our room for us and gave us a tour of the pod. The young lady that checked us in went over all of the on-site activities available. They also text you with pre-check-in, food truck notification, pre-check-out messages to keep you in the loop and to open up text communications with you in case you need anything. Cleanliness: 4.5 stars. The place smelled nice when we walked in and everything was made up nicely. There were even disposable slippers on the bed for us. Quality: 4.5 stars. The concept of these pods was great. The bed, bedding and pillows were super comfortable. I even checked the pillows to see what brand they were so I could buy them but they were private labeled. The towels in the bathroom were also very plush. The only main drawback to the room itself was that it felt as if the a/c unit couldn't cool down the room very well while the sun was out, but overnight it was fine. Also, the sky view portal in the room is a great concept but it wasn't very clean so it wasn't very clear. Room: 5 stars. This concept is so cool. Just look at the photos. They have a coffee maker and mini fridge in the room. No tv but we really didn't miss it... the swing and the expansive views were enough entertainment while we were in the room. Great little patio outside with a couple chairs and hammock which were nice for lounging and stargazing. Entertainment: 5 stars. Lots of fun activities for kids and kids-at-heart. The three of us really enjoyed the jumpy pillow. What a cardio workout! Husband and son also had fun on the trike track. One of the foreign exchange students also sang some songs that evening by the Welcome Dome/s'mores pit, which we really enjoyed. Our son even requested to sing with her.... "Don't Stop Believing" which was a lot of fun for us. Food: 4.5 stars. Their regular food truck was not open that evening but there was a fantastic Mexican food truck on site which we really enjoyed. Got the asada quesadilla, shrimp taco (street taco size) and carnitas torta... all were super tasty. ~$25 total.

Yelp
I have seen this place all over social media, and the domes look spaced out and the rooms look amazing, not the case, false advertising. They don't show the cluster f*ck of domes all together and we got one wayyyyy in the back with a huge bush in front of it and another dome. There was nothing of a resort about this place. I understand it's in the desert, I understand it's like camping, I go camping. This was pure rundown filth. Trash on the floor, flooring coming up, peeling of the walls, oh and the heater that made an awful sound all night so I really didn't sleep. I mean I understand it's not going to be top notch clean, but dog hair ALL over and trash, I mean you can run broom through or something right? For $530 for one night, not worth it, go camping on your own or stay in the grand canyon. I would never do this again. They can do better.

Yelp
This is a great spot to visit if you want to stay close to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and enjoy a little adventure. It is about a 35 minute drive from the park and to the nearest town of Williams, Az. The dome we rented was clean and tidy when we arrived, everything inside worked properly. While it had some signs of overall wear and tear it was still well taken care of. There is not daily housekeeping but you are able to get extra towels or linens as needed. Just a pro tip if you visit- The sun rises early here and the dome is not great at keeping early morning sun out. This isn't a knock on the resort but more of some helpful advice...be ready for sunlight. Having a sleep mask is a good idea if you are sensitive but if you are with little kids...good luck! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only food on site is via a food truck which has a dining room located inside a dome. The truck didn't "wow" us, it is fine in a pinch and is literally the only option on site but after one meal there we decided to eat in Williams or at locations inside the park. There are beer/wine options for sale as well as soft drinks and a very limited supply of snacks. There are a good amount of things for both kids and adults to do around the resort including a playground, some yard games (think corn hole) and live music. There are fire pits that are lit nightly. Some other reviews here say it takes awhile for staff to stoke them with firewood and this is true. There was a movie night for kids but once it started playing ads kept coming up on the iPad which then caused the movie to freeze. There was no staff to fix this issue. We gave up. There are stargazing options available for an additional fee. We have a toddler who couldn't quite make it after all the daily events so I can't review how they are. Even just with the naked eye the sky is incredible here! Overall this place is a really fun and beautiful place to make your base camp for visiting the Grand Canyon and nearby areas. It just needs a little bit of extra love to make it a really great time. It is the little things like the fire dying down without wood or the kid movie constantly freezing that hurt the final review. Overall I would recommend as a place to visit and hope if you do it is a great experience!

Yelp
This place is definitely one of a kind! If you want to do experience glamping and be close to nature, this is one way to do it. Because my daughter is a hello kitty fan, we booked the Hello Kitty dome. She was excited and delighted and said it's her favorite place! The dome design is fun and modern. They have different themes to choose from. Customer service is wonderful and accommodated our requests. We booked via Airbnb so they allow one night stay as opposed to two nights on the website. The reason one star is deducted is because of the following reason: Cons: - we travelled during November and it was super cold! Even though we had the space heaters on, there was a continuous freezing draft coming through the door. We had to put all these paper bags around the cracks of the door to cut down the amount of draft coming in. - this is newly built place-- they have just opened half a year and their bathroom floor, showers, already show signs of deterioration and aging. That just shows the quality of material and build are not that great and did not put in consideration of big temperature fluctuation of summer and winter in mind. The bathroom drawers are already broken. - their marking for the unit is very unclear. It took me 30 minutes back and forth to figure out which unit is my unit in the cold freezing weather in darkeness. There was very little lights around the signage. They could've easily put up larger unit signs with lights and guests can much more easily figure out their unit location. - need to plus in space heater separately from other appliances or charging units or might blow a fuse or trigger blackout for your unit. They let us know that one advance so we planned accordingly, but it is a little inconvenient. Pros: - fun swinging bench, s'mores fireplace is a nice touch. - the food at the food truck was cooked fresh and hot and tasty. - see the beautiful stars with very clear sky at night - conveniently located between Grqnd Canyon and zoo. - place is pretty spaced out between units, so a lot of privacy if curtains are pulled up. - shower water is nice and hot.

Yelp
This fun, glamping dome experience- would definitely recommend! The view of the stars at night is enough to do it again. Community camp activities- light up frisbee golf, campfire s'mores, live music... The food truck offerings were amazing!! The dome itself was the Under the Stars dome for two. Looks a bit smaller than pics but was enough room. Lost power and water briefly but went to explore the historic, Williams AZ town just 30 min away! The best part was bringing a blanket outside on the concrete porch and looking up at the night sky!

Yelp
Pros: You can take cool pictures in the rooms You can see the stars outside at night The staff is mostly friendly Seemed very family friendly if you have kids Cons: The skylight on the domes are dirty so you can't see the stars from the hanging bed The food truck is awful Weird feeling to the whole place. It kind of felt like summer camp with camp counselors. I will say that this place is a neat concept but I wouldn't call this a luxury resort. It needs some work. Because you can only see the stars from outside the dome, it would be wise to update and invest in the patio furniture. There was 2 sad patio chairs that were filthy with mud and a sad little hammock. I requested clean sheets because mine were stained and it just didn't feel clean to me and the staff responded that it's the Arizona dirt and not to worry that they are clean. I wish that my request had been accommodated and the sheets had been changed even if it was just for my peace of mind. For $400 a night, it's the least that they could do. In the future, it's better off to just go camping or book an Airbnb

Yelp
When rating these, you must keep in the back of your mind it is more camping than lodging. That being said a couple years ago we stayed at what was then Clear Sky's property at Glacier. For some reason that property is no longer a Clear Sky property. This review is essentially a comparative to that previous experience. The staff did not seem very knowledgeable. A couple examples: 1. They didn't tell us you could open the covering so you could see the stars. A more knowledgeable staff member pointed that feature out the next morning. 2. My wife asked if we could refill our water bottles. The staff member pointed to a lukewarm glass container. Later we found out the tent servicing the food truck had a water dispenser. The property needs to spruce up the entrance or do something. The place just doesn't look inviting. You would expect it to be in an open dusty area. That's Arizona. But they need nice signage and maybe a small paved road up to the welcome tent. Ask anybody in hospitality but the first experience at any property is critical. The tents are smaller in general than Glacier but the prices are better. Having a large tent is irrelevant. Good stuff: having the food truck very helpful. At the property at Glacier there was a bar with Costco pizza. So that's a nice plus here. The food truck had a nice menu. Really appreciate that. Good location. About 20 minutes to the south entrance. Much closer than Williams or other towns south of the canyon. Very quiet around the property. The Glacier property is too close to an active rail line. Having the optional sky light (noted above) is a great idea. Because Arizona not on DST, it gets light very early. We opted to keep it open so we could sleep under the stars. Others probably like it closed to keep some light out in the morning.

Yelp
We had a great time at the resort. Very calming if you want to do your own thing and just enjoy peace and quiet but also activities to keep you busy. The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. In our original dome, we noticed an issue with the sky view having dust (you're outside during a rainy summer not too surprising). We asked if the staff could help us out and they upgraded us to a much bigger dome with an amazing view no extra cost. We had cloudy skies but still enjoyed the nature. Must experience!

Yelp
We LOVED staying at Clear Sky Resorts these last few days!! Everything was better than expected. We were looking for a"glamping " experience and this was so much more!! The dome is spacious and so comfortably decorated. A shout out to David, the most hospitable check-in host who not only drove us, luggage and all, to our dome, but spent the perfect amount of time showing us how to use everything, from the double air units (which were so needed during this heat wave) to the heated bathroom control and everything in between. Besides the actual dome, the amenities themselves were great and so many...from the complimentary s'mores each evening to the amazing musical entertainment also each evening in the front lobby, to the array of games that we could partake in both inside (Clue, anyone?) and outside (frisbee golf)...we just had such a great time!! I'd definitely recommend staying here!!

Yelp
Horrible, on arrival we were greeted by someone at the front desk who seemed very frustrated to be working and annoyed to be helping us. We then waited over an hour in our car waiting for someone to take us to our Dome because we were told we could not get to it unless with an employee. Once in our Dome we were greeted by molding and cracking drywall in the bathroom. In the corners of the bathrooms there were huge spiderwebs with dead bug carcasses. The floors of the whole Dome were completely rotted and bowing. It was a 30 degree night so we turned the unit in the Dome to heat and it worked for about 5 minutes then would shut off and make a grinding and clicking noise. We went to get some food and went back to the dome to eat. The food wasn't bad so I thought things may be looking up! Boy was I wrong. At 4:00AM a storm moved through the area. The Dome flooded out and with already being freezing because the heat didn't work we were now scrambling through water. I texted the contact number and to my surprise there is NOT ONE member of staff onsite from 11pm till 7am. We were left pushing water out of door trying to save our things from getting wet. We were going to stay until the checkout at 11am but quickly left at 6 am because I had had enough of feeling so disrespected. We paid $548 for this on our honey moon for this dome and reached out to the front desk to receive at least an accommodation for what we went through. After a few texts and 2 phone calls no one has reached out to me to resolve. I am a director of engineering for a property in CO and I am asking everyone to absolutely stay away from this place. The skylight shade was completely falling off the dome and could have fallen on us while sleeping. We didn't realize this until we were leaving. There are MAJOR safety concerns and hygiene issues with this property!! Stay away at all costs. They will tell you that in a rain storm tents flood but I'll tell you that my $90 dollar tent from Walmart has been through 10x worse of storms and hasn't flooded once. This place needs to be shut down. Major coding and violations need to happen

Yelp
I had such a lovely time staying at the family pink theme dome with unicorns decor. It was my first time glamping and it's so much better than staying in hotels! The dome was spacious, climate controlled, and the decor was just so cute! The staff were courteous and friendly. They helped us get all our luggages to our dome. Then they explained how to operate everything including the retractable roof, ac, and heat. The beds were really comfortable and the towels were plush. The location was great. It's a 30 min drive on a straight road to the Grand Canyon. I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary s'mores, live music, and nighttime family movie times. There are chairs and hammock outside of each dome. You can choose to be alone in your dome area or be sociable. My only advice is to arrive before sunset cuz it can get really dark at night. It's easy to miss the dirt road that leads to the entrance. Also Apple Map seems more accurate than Google Map around that area.

Yelp
The domes aren't insulated well. Even with a small AC unit, it's hotter inside than it is outside. After a long day of hiking, all I wanted was to come back to the dome and relax. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that until the sun set and the rooms temp dropped. Keep in mind we went in September and the highs were only in the 80s. Aside from the heat, the skylight top was so dirty that we couldn't see out of it and the only telescope was at the welcome dome. Overall, not the experience I was hoping for.

Yelp
wasn't going to write a review but I have to make everyone aware. BEWARE. SAVE YOUR MONEY. My family of 4 stayed in the Space Galaxy dome for 3 nights, June 20-23. Today I was charged $802.59, 6 weeks later with no explanation! Okay let's go back 6 weeks. The family and I were super excited about this visit because it was a new resort and according to their website, they had food option, family games, movie nights, bonfire & free complimentary drinks. Our plan was to stay on the resort the entire time. Well... Let me just tell you what they didn't have: 1. Movie night (not completed) 2. Food options (had to go off site to eat) the one day the food truck was open, pizza was inedible - $18 per personal sized pizzas x3. 3. Not enough cups, coffee and creamer in rooms to last your entire stay 4. No room service, broom or dustpan 5. Not enough S'mores and sticks 6. Working telescope 7. Bed frames on second floor and shown on their website. It was on the floor on carpet that was lifting. Didn't allow our kids to stay up there. 8. Working door. It was disappointing. They opened before completing the "resort" and didn't inform their guest of this prior to their stay. Very unprofessional and misleading. The presentation on their website is not what these domes look like in person. The details on their website is incorrect and again misleading. False advertisement. I wouldn't call this place a resort. The price point is too high for what they have to offer. So expect to pay luxury hotel rates for motel accommodation. No grass, just a lot of red dirt. If you have a lot of luggage, be aware that you will have to transport it on foot over lava rocks. Definitely wouldn't recommend for anyone with disabilities. My husband has a drop foot and almost fell several times. This is very important!!! Watch where you walk because my son almost stepped on several nails that were left around our dome. Very dangerous.

Yelp
What a amazing glamping experience. The domes are different but thats why we booked to begin with. To get the camping feel but also not sleep in a tent. The grounds are very well kept up. The activities and communication was on point. A fun adventure for sure! To have your own space to watch the stars and take in nature was a true retreat. Hot water, comfortable bed, and a sky moon roof was fun! My only complaint was the food truck! Cold food, the order taker is clueless and needs to be replaced. If they could figure a delivery service since it's categorized as luxury. Give this place a try! It's worth it - the reviews are not accurate!

Yelp
Easy to find. Staff were friendly and kind. Dome was easily one of the coolest places we have stayed. The bathroom needs a deep clean. Toliet and shower were noticeably dirty. Amenities were upscale - lit mirror, monogrammed towels, trendy lighting. S'mores at the fire as well as music at night are enjoyable. With a better cleaning system this would be 5 stars.

Yelp
If you were visiting the Grand Canyon, staying here is an absolute must. The Grand Canyon was amazing, but we looked so forward to retreating to this resort in the evenings. Such a beautiful drive there, beautiful sunsets, and the most amazing stars at night. The amenities make for such a unique and fun experience. Great staff and management...an easy 5 stars!

Yelp
1. TERRIBLE STAFF and PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff is a bunch of kids who have never been told or trained about customer service or how to even talk to customers. Rolling eyes was very commonly seen. Instead of catering to customers - the staff was basically playing their own music on the laptop/ overhead speakers and standing in one corner chit chatting. During one of our discussions - The manager claimed that he was the owner of the place and makes all decisions there (implying my way or the highway). 2. MIDDLE OF NOWHERE with nothing to do. They do show a lot of stuff on their website, but the Dining Dome is not ready. The Projection Dome is still closed. They just have a food truck with limited menu. Someone told us that the dining dome construction staff quit, and they have no end date on its completion. 3. NOT PREPARED FOR THE WEATHER -- It Was WINDY and Freezing in the evening -and the staff would just put 3-4 wooden logs for fire. You literally had to stand next to the firepit to feel the warmth. Despite requesting the manager to add more logs - all customers got was a flat no and a nasty smirk from him. 4. POORLY DESGNED PATHS AND PARKING -- They don't allow you cars to be parked next to your dome. There is no shuttle service or golf carts to take you back and forth to the reception area or to your cars. You basically walk and walk and walk. 5. DEFINITELY NOT READY FOR A LARGE GROUP - they have nothing in terms of entertainment there. 6. We met some people hanging out in the reception area - who were relatives of the staff there. I guess they invite the local relatives to make the resort look busy. 7. The staff even made faces while giving the marshmallow to the kids. They just have no experience in customer service and hospitality industry.7. Some of the staff told us - last year there were a lot of complaints about staff - as a lot of them were doing drugs at the resort. Also, we were told that the resort has a new management this year - I hope they fix things fast, otherwise this is going downhill. I definitely would not go there again/ even if it's for free. Don't want to see the face of their manager again ...ever.

Yelp
We LOVED staying here! It was the highlight of our trip to AZ. The kids didn't want to leave. Everything was amazing: the location, staff, s'mores, activities, live music, our dome, and sleeping under the stars. Thank you Shea (and friends). We will be back!

Lisa H.

Yelp
Great experience! The staff was very accommodating. Oscar our concierge was ready whenever we needed anything. The common area had a happy hour and nightly entertainment. Aaron White was fabulous. Accompanied with his guitar singing songs he or his wife wrote as well as songs from popular artists. The food truck had a small choice of food but it was very well prepared. We enjoyed all the staff as they shared their experiences with us. They were college students from Poland, Mexico and Hungry just to name a few. I definitely recommend the Clear Sky Domes to stay in on your way to the Grand Canyon.

Yelp
An amazing place! Amazing atmosphere. Definitely want to go back and bring friends. Only thing missing is a pool..not to far away from the Grand Canyon. Fully heated and cooked units.. and most importantly..running hot water! Definitely worthy of staying a night or two!

Yelp
Amazing and unique place, customer service was outstanding with very understanding and kind workers, the environment is soothing and provides an amazing star view, the food options vary and are all prepared by an amazing chef and the food never disappoints. Alex is a worker in the lobby who was funny and helpful and got us what we needed and wanted. She was energetic and lively wasn't hesitant to help us with anything. Definitely coming back soon.

Yelp
Would give a zero or negative number were that an option. One of the worst travel experiences ever. We arrived around 4:15 and were told it would be a 15 minute wait for our 4pm check in. We left at 7:15 when we learned they had not even begun to clean our room. They were truly incompetent and extremely rude. Apparently half the staff didn't turn up today. Probably covid which would be nice to know. But could be they all just hate working for such a terrible company which also makes perfect sense.

Yelp
Went here for my moms birthday. What they don't tell you is how much walking is involved from car to your little dome and my mom is disabled so we had her wheelchair which you cannot roll on the dirt there. Also, there was no live music like there was supposed to be, and the heater in our room was broken so we were super cold. HOWEVER - After talking to the manager he made it right. He advises us next time ask for ADA dome, he wasn't sure what happened with the live music, and they truly did try to fix our heater so it wasn't that they didn't try. All of the staff was amazing. Just happened to be a not so great experience but would try again - especially because the manager refunded us and apologized and made it right. Definitely recommend going, we will be back maybe this time without mom so it's a little easier stay.

Yelp
Pros - the domes are comfortable, climate-controlled, and have indoor plumbing with hot running water. The sky is, as billed, clear with excellent stargazing. The food truck is open at convenient hours and serves acceptable food. There are very pleasant outdoor fire pits with free s'mores, where we had some pleasant conversations with other families visiting. CONS - Clear Sky resorts is not in the middle of nowhere, there are people nearby and you can clearly hear the sound of a main road from the domes. Not only that, but on one of the nights we were there, a local church hosted an extremely loud party, featuring seven hours of a mariachi band playing from about 5pm about midnight. The sound boomed across the entire property, relentless and unbearably loud. The domes provided no insulation from the sound. It was impossible to relax. The cops were called at 10pm but the party went on anyway. This obviously wasn't anything the staff had any control over, but if you're going there looking for a peaceful getaway, be warned! In addition, there is poor light control within the domes, so be sure to bring an eye shade, otherwise you will be awakened at dawn.

Yelp
Pros: Friendly, generally helpful and proactive staff Super comfortable & clean bed Killer views (sunrise, stars, sunset) Lovely live music Definitely a unique option Temp control in domes Nice freebies (drinks, smores kit) Most of the dome was clean Cons: Food truck (tacos) was legitimately terrible Unsafe campfire Holes/tears in dome for decor, unclean shower, cheap/broken toilet seat, cracked light covers, rumpled wallpaper, etc Curtains draped into fireplace - serious hazard esp for kids Unresponsive to texts about broken door No staff were masked indoors (8/26 stay) No opinion: There is an area with a playground, jumping pillow, adult trikes and frisbee golf. The former looked underwhelming but maybe more exciting for kids, and the frisbee golf was so dark I was convinced I would get killed if I ventured that way. Fun, but absolutely not a $325/night experience, but certainly not Fyre Fest bad (...except for the food. My goodness, big time gross). They put so much $$ into optics they seem to have cheaped out on the basics - fancy keypads for doors that don't lock, curtains draped into fireplace, torn domes for Instagram lights, etc. For less, I would consider returning with friends, but for now there are a lot of bugs that need worked out.

Yelp
Horrible stay, a blotch on our otherwise incredible honeymoon. Too many negatives to explain so I'm just gonna bullet point them: -we got there a little early, when we asked if we could check in, they just said no without even checking. After asking a second staff member and waiting outside in the sun for an hour, turns out our room was ready the whole time. -when we mentioned it's our honeymoon, a staff member literally pointed at us and did the Nelson laugh from the Simpsons, mocking the fact the we got married. -we brought cheese and wine, our fridge was broken in our room. They brought us a tupaware filled with ice. So then we just had cheese floating in a dirty tub of ice water. -Half the place still wasn't ready. Observatory was closed, apparently live music was only on Tuesday and Thursday despite the fact it was promised -the whole place just felt...empty. No atmosphere whatsoever. There was a few lawn games spread around, but without music or people it just seemed sad. -we had to ask for our free drinks, only noticed because we saw someone else got them. -staff in general completely ignored us on check in and check out. -we got half our money back after complaining, but then they recharged us for it a second time without telling us. Had to call AGAIN to get it back. -Campfire was a joke, a couple small logs wrapped in a huge metal shell. They had free s'mores that night....but forgot to order of graham crackers. Watched a child burn their hand on the hot metal shell trying to roast their marshmallow through the slot in the shell. -Only positive I can think of is that the stars were nice at night, but find the view literally anywhere else. I guess if you want to get some Instagram pictures it's set up nice for that, but this place is a gold painted turd. Some of the pictures make it look nice, but it's all just a thin vaneer.

Yelp
Definitely a very cool concept and a unique experience. We rented a secret agent dome that came with a phone booth and two golden egg chairs. The set up was great and allowed for many fun pictures. Everyone who works at the resort is super friendly and ready to help. Communication with personnel is done via texts and response time is almost instantaneous. It's a new resort so linens and towels were new and in great condition. Mattresses and pillows are of good quality and are comfortable. The dome, however, was very dirty: floors were dusty and had food particles from previous guests, loft was not vacuumed at all; shower floor, sink, and toilet were covered in hair and soap scum; loft bedding was not changed from previous guests - it was stained and covered in hair as well. Bedding was replaced upon request, bathroom I cleaned and sanitized myself. If you can, don't rely on the food truck. It is very expensive and most menu items are not available. Guys that work there are very nice and diligently take your order. However, you may not get what you ordered or the way you ordered it. We ordered a bunch of "make your own" burgers and they were all wrong. (One of the texts asked for stay feedback and when mentioned the burger mix up, we were given credit for them.) S'mores, star gazing, hammocks, trampoline, live music, and the overall ambiance make for a great stay. Once the room maintenance is improved - this will be a perfect getaway spot.

Yelp
UPDATE: They did respond and gave us our deposit back which was the equivalent of one nights stay. It's a neat concept but they have a lot of kinks to work out! So Disappointed and Duped! Note: I've emailed them 3 times before posting and have gotten no response!! We stayed in the Hello Kitty dome on May31 and June1. I haven't posted on online review yet, but honestly I feel as though as one of your first guests, we were misled and feel cheated. Your resort had issues getting ready for opening. Some understandable but some were just completely unacceptable. Your advertising promised things that were not delivered: No food on site - our choices we were told at check in were the another hotel down the way or Williams which is 30 miles away! No wifi (we were told it maybe fixed next week after we were gone) No happy hour welcoming No 'entertainment' The in dome fireplace didn't work The floor of the dome was buckled in spots The golf carts weren't working to take us to our dome - unacceptable! Because you can't park by your dome. You park a ways away and walk on horrible lava rock paths. (Thank goodness for DJ, he was super helpful) Couldn't see through the domes for the dirt and dust - what? It's "Clear Sky Resorts" - the biggest deal was to lay in bed and look up at the stars. Not happening! Everything is covered in dirt! Porch was not sealed so we couldn't sit out there at night and there's no porch furniture if any kind. The dirt is a real Problem - there were dirty handprints all over our dome. Rugs, bean bag chair, little toys around were already super dirty. The furnishings while cute were not up to our expectations of a 'resort'. It was as if they came from Rooms to Go Kids - not practical for adults to sleep on at all! Upon arrival, our 170 pound 17 year old sat on the bed and it broke!! - he didn't jump on it, he literally sat on the bed to take off his shoes and it broke - we slept on a broken bed for 2 nights! My husband went to the main dome/lobby - because we could never get anyone on the phone (also a huge problem) and told them about it and was trying to be nice before we left to go off property for dinner - and nothing was done. We literally slept on a broken bed for 2 nights! Worst nights' sleep! I was like - why are we paying for this? The dome was an interesting idea but I feel like we were the guinea pigs and this was or should have been your soft opening. Frankly, we splurged big time to spend 2 nights here for a memorable experience. Almost $400 per night! We spent about 1/4 of our entire week's travel budget for the dome and cut corners elsewhere because we thought it was going to be so amazing. I feel like we should have been given a huge discount or something -OR at very least the courtesy of a call ahead of time to say 'hey, we've hit some snags and we're unprepared and here's what you can actually expect' and given us the opportunity to decide to cancel our accommodations. It's not like you didn't know you were unprepared! Expectations from your social media hype and website certainly did not match reality. Some practical, constructive criticism from a mom: Figure out a way for people to be able to park at their own dome! Walking back and forth we had to decide to either walk on the horrible rock path or the dirt which was really uneven. Ditch the egg chairs they are so impractical and put in a table and chairs or stools, there's no where for adults to sit. Ditch the 'toys' they are dirty already. There has to be a bench or cabinet in the shower room where people can put their clean clothes! There's one hook in that room and nothing else! Figure out the toilets because they reek! In the room with the sink, there needs to be towel bars or more hooks or something for people to hang towels and toiletry bags. Everything ends up on the dirty floors! In the main room of the dome, there should also be like a long bench or two benches to put luggage on and sit to put shoes on. Ditch the hello Kitty bed and get a real bed - paint it pink if you must but the bed is ridiculous! And the night stands, too! They are upholstered so a water bottle couldn't even stand up on them. Everything fell over. The fire pit outside the lobby dome for s'mores while very cool looking is a disaster waiting to happen. It's on seriously uneven ground because of the rocks and it gets incredibly hot - some kid is going to trip and land face first and get seriously injured! (My husband works in the parks and playground industry and kept commenting how unsafe it was!) It needs to be on a concrete pad! And when the worker put wood on the fire we got so much sparks in our face, it was nuts! We scrambled to get out of the way. We could tell he was concerned about sparking a wildfire and so were we! It would be much more practical to have it set up for gas/propane this would limit smoke and sparks.

Yelp
We only spent one night here in their final week of the season and absolutely loved it! We had been in Williams and Flagstaff for the holiday weekend. Accessing the resort was super easy, and the staff regularly texted to share important updates, fun events that we might be interested in and simple check-in and check-out procedures. Love the use of technology to keep clients informed. The welcome dome is GORGEOUS! We hung there for some time in a hanging bed looking at the views. Our dome was on a part of campus with the least amount of light pollution and the star-gazing was incredible. The food truck accommodated my gluten allergy and the breakfast in the morning was so freakin' good. I heard some challenges and complaints from other guests, and could only attribute this to having never glamped or camped before. Although the domes are cozy, it was COLD outside when we went and we had to crank up the heat/close the curtain to ensure it stayed cozy. Although the domes have a hot shower situation, they don't include a fireplace or amenities that are maybe common in other hotels and resorts. We were pretty aware of this going into the resort, and were surprised by the annoyance and/or lack of self-awareness from other guests. Clear Sky Resorts has figured out a great balance between camping and hotel accommodations! We will definitely be back in 2023 :).

Krysha S.

Yelp
The food truck is the best part of the resort. This is not a glamorous resort it is "glam'ping" there is no activity during the day. We traveled with teens and we're all comfortable. It's convenient to the canyon

Yelp
We stayed two nights here 6/11 checked in 6/13 check out. The dome was very very hot when we arrived but decoration was cute ( we had hello kitty theme). BTW The Free Wifi as they advertised- was only in the welcome center. The road has not built yet, it was very rough in the resort. There isn't much to do in the complex, also at night around 8pm - dome became super cold. There wasn't any AC or Heater. Also in the morning - we were waken up around 5am when the dome became so bright. The most dangerous thing was the second floor, to go up using the ladder was super dangerous. My husband fell down from half way because it was so steep, also there wasn't any gate on the top, my kid would easily fell down in the middle of the night. Other then that the food truck was very expensive.

Marlene T.

Yelp
This place is awesome! So relaxing and peaceful and the sunsets are to die for. The food is really good and the staff is very friendly and helpful especially Seth .

Miah G.

Yelp
Super disappointed. This place catfished us. We couldn't even see out the top of our dome, our bed suspended in the air for actually no reason since we couldn't see out the top. Our dome is also facing a massive tree which means we look out and see nothing. Not at all what we had expected for the money spent.

Kay N.

Yelp
We wanted to love our stay, but unfortunately the customer service was severely lacking. (And after reading the manager's responses to not so positive reviews, I see why...) There were maybe 2 (out of about 10) helpful staff members we encountered. Our dome was clean, but we had an issue with hot water. When it was brought to the staff's attention, I was told "you must've used all the hot water.. it only lasts 15 minutes".. when I was the first person to shower. Turns out, whoever put together the shower itself put the hot and cold on backwards so you get hot water when you put the cold setting on. And cold water when you put the hot setting on. The food truck served overpriced mediocre food and you had to go back to the welcome dome to get a drink to go with your meal. (The restaurant up the road was much better and less expensive!) For over $400 a night, it just wasn't worth it.

Mike W.

Yelp
This place was great and away from all the noise of the city. The workers were friendly and welcoming. If your looking for a 5 star resort this is not it. It is glamping. The food truck had a good selection of quality food. This was a very enjoyable experience for our family. Approximately 20 minutes from the South Rim.
