I really wanted to like Clearwater Fire-Grill, but unfortunately, the takeout experience left a lot to be desired. We placed a pickup order that totaled just over $85, and what we received was nowhere near worth that price. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out completely well done—dry, overcooked, and lacking flavor. The mashed potatoes were bland and tasted like they came from a box. The sausage in the shrimp and grits was extremely overcooked—rubbery, dry, and almost burnt.
One of the most disappointing parts was the crab dip. At pickup, it was completely cold, and the cheese on top hadn’t even melted. It felt like it had been prepped and forgotten, then thrown into the bag last minute. To make matters worse, two of our sides were missing entirely. When we called, they apologized and asked us to come back to get them. I did, and while they did comp us $20 off our next meal, it really didn’t make up for how lackluster the entire meal was.
Maybe their dine-in experience is better, but based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend their takeout. Everything about it felt rushed and underwhelming. They get 2 stars for the simple fact of trying to comp the missing sides. Barring that, it would be a 1 star for this experience.
