20 Best Places to Visit in Idaho, According to Locals
"Known in the Nez Perce language as “Big River,” this river is described as “a place of origin or creation for the Nimíipuu, or Nez Perce people, at the site known as timnéepe, or ‘Place of the Heart.’” It’s an important fishery for anadromous species such as salmon and steelhead, and the Nez Perce Tribe operates a tribal fish hatchery at Cherrylane and the Dworshak National Fish Hatchery, with the latter offering both self-guided and guided tours seven days a week to help sustain runs affected by downstream hydroelectric projects and habitat degradation." - Lydia Mansel

One of the most beautiful places in Idaho. We walked the Jerry Johnson bridge access and trail head. Saw some deer and gorgeous scenery. Well worth the time spent to do some forest bathing ❤️

This is one of the most beautiful places in Idaho! I think you could drink the water it's that clean and cold, ( North of Lewiston). This fall, we've watched salmon surfacing all day and into the evening. The fall colors take your breath away!

Its weird that I am rating a river right now. I only have good things to say about the clearwater. Drive next to it. Swim in it. Float down it. Fish out of it (with a fishing license of course). Wiggle your toes in it. Get baptized in it. Bet a kid he won't swim across it for $20 (Not a good bet. Way too easy). Camp by it. You can do a lot of things with it.
