i already tried the coffee here before and it’s really good! today I tried their matcha latte. it’s not too strong but you’d still taste the matcha. I’d say it’s okay but I like mine with more matcha! they don’t usually add sugar so if you want yours sweet make sure to tell the barista. I also like the vibe here with outside seating facing the street, perfect for a chat and people watching!

The Irish Chef Abroad

Google
Great coffee shop in South William Street Dublin. Nice vibe and nicely put together in terms of decor. Not certain why there is a second coffee service bar at the back, but it looks very well. Toilets were clean and looked after. The coffee could have been warmer. And possibly stronger. I prefer a stronger flavour. But that is my taste. Worth a visit (or revisit).

Google
The decoration is simple and comfortable, with the wooden tables and chairs make it feel very warm. making me feel no pressure and no sense of distance. A very comfortable atmosphere, where you can completely relax. The layout design is very good, and the appropriate space design give the entire space a unique structure and sense of space. The hand-brewed coffee tastes good with two flavors to choose from. Pairing with dessert. We chat and spend a wonderful afternoon.

Google
I love a good cup of hot, black tea. I first encountered Clement and Pekoe's Irish Breakfast Tea at Bread 41 and was immediately struck by the deep, delicious flavor. I asked the server what tea it was and sought out Clement and Pekoe's shop to buy some loose tea to bring home. The cafe experience isn't as nice as the tea itself. The counter is cluttered and there's not much room to line up. The cafe seating is crowded and not the most cozy or comfortable. It's still a decent spot for a break for a hot drink, but my advice is to pick up some packages of their excellent loose tea to enjoy at home.

Josh Hardingham

Google
It's a decent coffee. The styling feels like it's for student/business types looking for a place to work out of the college/office. Would go if I was passing and needed a coffee but not sure I'd seek it out when visiting.

Google
Hate to do a bad review but feel like I have to after yesterday Wanted to try this place for a while don’t live in Dublin so as I was here it was the perfect time to try. Got an iced coffee for takeaway and all was fine, staff were nice. Did have to get another straw in circle k as the first one cut into the lid and wasn’t able to use it. When I finished the drink I wouldn’t usually look into the cup but noticed a black hair around the end of the straw! Instantly felt sick because of the thought that I could have swallowed that! I don’t have black hair so couldn’t have been mine which is disgusting! I hope for the future you can be more careful with your drinks!!

Google
I find this place to have excellent products and drinks etc, but I don’t personally don’t love the service and feel in the room. I prefer more warm and welcoming places, this is quite serious and less inviting. Coffees are good, baked goods are also good. I hope that’s fair.

Google
The best of Single Origin coffees whilst watching the world go by in the hang out area of South William Street. Only cafe in Dublin with steps to lounge and chat a Saturday morning away on. Treated myself to their cappuccino made with a rich nutty Ethiopian coffee for €3.50. Would love to keep this understated oasis to myself yet the food tour guide in me wins out. Hang out here like a Dubliner in the know.

Yelp
What an adorable and fantastic little coffee shop. Not too busy on a Monday morning either! Had lots of seating and all baristas were patient and nice while we figured out what we wanted. Got a dirty chai and shared some of their pastry options. Whatever the buns and pastries were that we had were delicious. One was like chocolate chip twist and the other was this super nice puff pastry bun that had crystallized sugar. Such a cute place we just sat and drank coffee and it was peaceful and the staff so pleasant. Definitely would be a great place to get a laptop and work for a couple hours. 10/10
google avatar

Dylan G.

Yelp
It was alright. The service people came off as somewhat snobby but it what whatever. The coffee was amazing enjoyed the chai it was great. The place is nice chill snuggled spot but it's kinda awkward for seating. If you wanted to sit with your friend you just have these awkward small tables. Another thing about the tables it's just layout awkwardly too. But again that's just me nitpicking at everything But yes it's great!

Yelp
Clement and Pekoe is a bustling shop dedicated to the craft of tea and coffee. The selection of tea was tremendous, though I opted for coffee. I ordered Baobab's Kainamui AA for pour over, which was €3. As far as I can tell, C&P serves coffee roasted by Baobab from Kildare (yay local!) and Climpson & Sons from London. The coffee was delicious. An adorable and helpful fellow took my order, brought my coffee to me, and made sure I was doing a-ok. C&P has plenty of seating for every preference. A long bench sits outside for people-watching and fresh air, a small bar inside for watching the people people-watching outside, small tables, large tables, and even a cozy nook in the wall. There are also shelves full of coffee and tea brewing gear. I'd have bought some if I didn't have to pack them all to ship out of country. All in all, a lovely little shop with lots of options for every visitor.

Yelp
Or whats called The hipsters cafe. Very cool interior with a touch of elegancy added by the beautiful crystal chandeliers hanging of the ceiling. Amaizing coffee, seriously, and a great ambience. Good spot to hang out with your friends. I love the outdoor seat bench with small tables on the side, but its always occupied by the "cool kids" Only joking!
google avatar

Yelp
I want to apologise! Apologise cause it's taken me so long to try out this AMAZING gem! Been on my radar for longer than I want to remember, finally stopped by here last week and I'm in love! I want to hang out here all day, drink their amazing smooth flat whites and treat myself to the delicious treats available here. Nom, nom! Surprisingly spacious inside with plenty of seating so choose from a smaller table set ups or a long table for gathering with a larger group. Love the vibe here, will defo be back regularly
google avatar

Nicolas G.

Yelp
Good service and very good quality coffee and food. They also have some paleo and gluten free options. And you can feel that they love what they do.
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy and friendly café in the heart of Dublin! Café looks small but it's actually very deep with lots of seating. Had a delicious creamy cappuccino with a homemade raspberry almond cake. One of my favourite cafés in Dublin.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Possibly one of the best people-watching perches in town, get the seats out front of this classy little tea / coffee place, and you won't be moving for a long time. There's lots of intimate seating inside too, especially with their expansion out the back to house some lovely art, and all the accoutrements you'll need to brew your own coffee / tea. I can't comment on the coffee, though I hear it's amazing, but the tea is looseleaf, top notch, and is served in a really nice way. They have lots of little nibbles to tempt you hanging round the counter, my favourite of which is a little sliver of carrot cake that taunts me every time I go in.
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
I don't know if it is my face or something but I do not understand the people are saying the staff are super friendly. Twice I've been there and they were barely polite or straight up rude. Coffee is good though.
google avatar

Yamin B.

Yelp
According to the reviews this is a place where you can have a good coffee. I'm sorry but this is not. If you're a ' coffee expert ' ( I mean for example that you grind your own bean ) you gonna be very upset. The filter coffee is absolutely disgusting. They fancy you with some foreign name coffee at the entrance, don't let them trick you. Even Starbucks coffee is way better. Moreover there is no wifi. How a coffee shop can not have wifi 2014 ? Good point the place and location is cool.
google avatar

Lila G.

Yelp
They advertise free wifi, but there is no wifi here. As a frequent visitor to Dublin, I am always looking for unique spots to relax and get a little work done while in the city. It was a huge disappointment that there was no wifi! The almond milk latte was okay, but too sweet...seems as if they use sweetened almond milk. If I wanted my latte sweet, I would add my own sugar. I will move along to another spot that actually has a good coffee and offers wifi.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little spot for a nice hot drink and a chat. They are incredibly passionate about the tea and coffee they serve which is think you can only get from an owner run business like this. Dorina & Simon the owners who started the business a few year ago are on hand to help you choose what to drink without making you feel like a total eejit. They have everything from your regular run of the mill cup'o'tea up to the fanciest gourmet coffee. It is in a great location to watch the world by and I love the bench outside in this mild weather. They are in the process of extending the interior of the café and upgrading the bathrooms.
google avatar

Yvonne B.

Yelp
Soooo much choice! All kinds of coffee you could possibly think of, here you find it PLUS 2 kinds of filter coffee specials every day, yay! And for all you tea lovers out there... now you don't have to go separate ways with your coffee loving friends, this place will win you over. I tried to take a picture of their tea menu but the selection was so huge, my camera couldn't capture it :) I also love the selection of sweet treats, some of them are teeny-tiny so you don't have to feel guilty for giving in to the temptation - again.
google avatar

Mali M.

Yelp
The coffee shop was empty and I have been kicked out from the coffee shop because I had to use a laptop and I have asked that I wasn't aware about it and if it is possible to stay and next time I won't come back so the waitress was so rude and not appropriate.... Other stuff as well the coffee they serve is not hot enough. Also, she lectured me by saying that the coffee shop is not a desk office whereas everywhere in the world use laptops in the coffee shop very snob and not welcome atmosphere and no consideration I never recommend this place....at all
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
I finally made it to Clement and Pekoe! After goodness knows how long...the wait was worth it though! Gorgeous coffee and the best almond financier I've had in a long time made it a brilliant hour spent with my cousin, who I might add is from Waterford and didn't know where South William St was......young people?!?!?! 5 stars all round from me!!!
google avatar

Laureline B.

Yelp
Yes, this place is hipster. Yes, this place is trendy. Yes, it *is* a little "show off", But omagaaaaaaad ! Their almond milk latte is simply the best I ever had in my whole life. A cloud of sweet, sweet heaven with the strength of a tasty coffee. As if Conan the Barbarian was cuddling a litter of cute kittens. In addition to that, this place has a great atmosphere, the perfect location, pastries that will make you drool and this little je-ne-sais-quoi that makes it different. Oh, and I love their coffee cups! By the way, the first one criticizing my girly taste in coffee will... will... have to order the same delish drink than me!

Yelp
Clemont & Pekoe is my new favourite coffee shop in Dublin! The interior is really nice; clean and spacious, making it great place to sit down for a while with some coffee or one of the many types of herbal teas they have to offer. The coffee tastes great and I love their flat whites and iced lattes the best! In addition, they are cheaper than most of those coffee chains like Butler's and Starbucks, and offer a soya milk option too. When they take your order, they give you a card with a country on it to help identify your order, which I find pretty cool, and there's a good number of books to read and sell a variety of coffee and tea appliances like filters and teapots etc. The staff are very friendly, and they have a stamp card so you get every 10th cup free! There's also few sweet foods and baked goods on offer, as well as coffee beans and tea leaves to make at home. Overall a stylish little gourmet coffee shop that's worth any coffee drinkers time.
google avatar

Val L.

Yelp
Lovely hipster atmosphere. As soon as you go inside you have the impression the place is totally packed but it is not. Their front hall is tiny but they have plenty of seats on the back. The coffee is good and not expensive. Not sure how much it was but my latte + carrot cake was just 3.85 =) Carrot cake : good but too small! Lemon muffin was good too. Also plenty of coffee/tea for sale around. Everything is super cute and you will feel like buying then.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Great coffee here! Doesn't look that big from outside but quite long and nice seating area beyond the order point / checkout :) I'd suggest you try the peanut butter cookie if they have them. It was yum and went v v nicely with the coffee...
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I was a bit slow with this place. Always thought "ah yeah, the coffee is nice but there isn't really anywhere to sit..." Well I was wrong, there's quite a large back room, it's comfy, there are plugs, however, it's rubbish bitbuzz wifi. A serious negative if you're in for a spot of work as well as tasty coffee. Positives though are great staff, excellent coffee and a nice terrace out front for people watching!
google avatar

Marilyn T.

Yelp
It was pretty full Saturday afternoon, but drinks come out quickly. You order and can take a seat, and they'll bring you the coffee (or you can get it to go). The espresso was nice and strong. I like the back room with long tables, plenty of coat hooks, coffee supplies, and books. The bathroom is also very clean.
google avatar

Steven S.

Yelp
Superb cappuccinos. Wide selection of teas. Great spot to meet with a friend or significant other. Lots of books in the back room.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice tea/coffee house near Grafton Street with lots of loose tea options and changing but ever tasty filter coffee offerings! Definitely worth trying!
google avatar

Zofia R.

Yelp
Well, nothing really to tell, just a regular coffee shop like 100 other in Dublin. Same cakes, same cups same milk and same coffee ( oh ye, they are serving tea in the mug, I prefer teapots). Inside is quite cozy and spacious. Reasonable prices
google avatar

Keith M.

Yelp
A great new coffee shop that pride themselves on sourcing their coffee from local roasters! The house blend here is a medium roast and is lovely and sweet. I would definitely recommend it! The front of the building is beautiful, interesting and well conceived. You'd be forgiven for assuming it was some sort of youth hostel with the amount of people festering outside and chatting vigorously. But once you enter and see the sweet innards, there's a feeling of Diagon Alley, a magical expanse with wonders behind every curtain. The staff are perpetually engaged either with making coffee, running orders, cleaning up or asking you what you want before you've even ran your eyes over the menu. It loses a star for the chaotic feeling of ordering but deserves all the rest for the relaxing, fun or introspective times you will certainly have here if you take the plunge and walk in through those coffee stained pearly gates.

Hannah L.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for the first time and had some tasty coffee drinks and baked goods. Unfortunately, we experienced bad service that ruined our afternoon here. After working on our laptops from 2-4 PM (it was a weekday- I know they have a no laptop policy on the weekends), an employee came up to us and said that if we weren't going to buy a second drink we had to leave to make room for afternoon customers (even though most of the seats around us were empty). That same employee got into an audible argument with a coworker, which was uncomfortable for us customers to witness. The WiFi also wasn't working, and when a customer near us asked another employee for help the worker was very rude to the customer. There are definitely many coffee shops in Dublin with much better service and equally as good coffee/food!
google avatar

Claire P.

Yelp
Finally, a place with a great tea selection that sells it at a very affordable price - just €2! The owner also made my day by obliging to mix two teas! I used to get these peppermint and liquorice teabags that I loved but haven't been able to find them in years. So when I saw that Clement and Pekoe had both Peppermint and Liquorice teas on offer I asked if it would be possible to combine them. The owner said it was no problem! I was so happy! (Seriously, try it!) You are also encouraged to come back for free refills of hot water which is so lovely! Minor negatives: Some people might be bothered by the seating arrangement, as it's mostly just stools around one big communal table, this personally doesn't bother me though. Also, they do have one great cubby hole seat for two! The only real negative was the lack of toilet but this problem might already have been resolved by now. In general though this place deserves a major thumbs up!

Yelp
I actually just stopped in for a meeting the other day after passing it by many many times. When I came in it was quiet and not much going on, either customer or staff-wise, but it was still nice to soak up the atmosphere and watch all the young, hip and cool hang out around South William Street. The seating was quite bar-ish and it didn't really feel like a cafe. I'm starting to be a bit spoiled with comfy sofas and leather arm chairs. The coffee was nice, but my feeling is that it is more of a tea place, which is not really my bag (see what I did there?) but a class place all the same.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I love this place. The tea is cheap, and as Claire points out that is not easy to find in Dublin, and you can fill up with hot water! I have had a couple of different types of teas here and they have all been delicious, subtle herbal tea which is easy to drink even if you are trying something new. I hate when you order a tea for the first time and it is so overwhelming in smell and taste that it may take a few too many cups before it actually becomes enjoyable. Their coffee is also well done, good roast and a good barista, it makes all the difference. I actually love the seating arrangement here, it is kind of awkward somehow, but I love the wooden stools and the big bench table in the middle. It somehow makes you feel like you could come alone quite comfortably and not take up more space than necessary sitting at a table on your own. As I walked out I noticed a sign for paleo cakes! I haven't tried any, but had a quick look at the ingredients and was impressed. Am heading back when I feel deserving of a treat!
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
All I can ever order here are their mochas. After trying them, anything else would be a travesty. To describe them would be like trying to describe heaven (I've just re-read that and am aware how cheesy that sounds but am going to leave it in anyway). A well made, smooth coffee with a huge rich chocolate lollipop dunked in it. I literally cannot tell you how amazing it is. And I don't like mochas. The treats and everything else they offer all look great, my eyes however, are never adverted from the mocha. As for the place itself, I have not once sat inside. With South William Street on the doorstep, the only place to situate yourself is on the benches at the front. The most pleasant place to people watch, it is a great place to break away from work or study and watch life pass you by a while. Can't recommend it highly enough.
google avatar

Melinda M.

Yelp
EH. I do NOT understand what is going on with the Dublin coffee scene! This place is supposed to be on a short list of great spots-- and I don't know why! Decor is lovely but my cappuccino was SO watered down! Very disappointing.
google avatar

Nikki P.

Yelp
Love love love this coffee shop! I happened upon this place while roaming around south william st. on a Sunday with a friend. The inside is really open and bright, and there is loads of seating. The only downside was that the seating was mostly seats along a long table. Which is fine, but not idea if you're wanting to have a private chat with someone. It was a very sociable place. There's also a long bench outside which is great for sitting, hanging out and people watching. I have to say my FAV thing about this place is that they offer almond milk as a dairy alternative. I'm pretty sensitive to dairy, so I try to avoid it as much as possible. Most places offer soy, which is fine... but I much prefer the taste of almond milk over soy. So it's nice that they offer it as an option in addition to Soy milk. Oh and the cakes and treats... the TREATS!! They were fabulous! So tasty, and definitely loads of options to treat yourself with your tea or coffee!
google avatar

Joelle F.

Yelp
Love love this place. The staff are super helpful when recommending a delightful tea to try. They have an assortment of treats to try along with gluten free & Paleo ones too. Super relaxed atmosphere where you can read or chill out and no rush to move you out! A super cute place to try and don't be in a rush to leave.. Soak up the atmosphere
google avatar

Catalina H.

Yelp
The cappuccino will not disappoint you at all! the matcha...well...ain't bad either (that's all I've tried so far). I like this place a lot. It has this artsy trendy style on the inside and relaxing atmosphere on the outside. The music is always good and even makes me use an app to identify which song it is. Overall a great spot!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Clement and Pekoe. Did you even know why this is called Clement and Pekoe? Because Clement is from the coffee and Pekoe is from the Tea. You didn't know? Well... I did my research baby. As I do when I write every Yelpreview ofcourse. My reviews are almost complete research studies. You see these sentences above? Took me 43 minutes. I'm not kidding. I take quality over quantity. I also could have said: Clement and Pekoe. Nice coffee. Friendly staff. More spacious than it looks from outside. But nobody wants to read that right?
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
Lets be honest- there are three things that are important in a coffee shop. Good coffee: check Lovely, friendly staff to have the chats to whilst your coffee/tea/cakes are being prepared: check A whopper place to sit and watch the world go by whilst consuming said coffee/tea/cakes: check Check it out.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Used to work around the corner from here and I looked forward to my morning break so I could grab a cup or tea or coffee depending on how the day was going. despite sometimes having unwanted company joining me. I always enjoyed my trips to this little place. The staff were always helpful in recommending things to try and soon memorized my order. the banter i had with the staff sometimes meant i would visit the shop two or three times a day and not just for the tea or cakes and i look forward to the next time I am in the area so i can pop in for my usual cup of assam.
google avatar

Conor C.

Yelp
Now that I've become a regular, I get a smile every morning. Proper coffee and the almond croissant hits the spot. Must do a sit in soon but at the moment, it's always back to the office. Their teas are the best I've come across too as the tea bag is made up for you.
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
Very comfortable coffee shop with plenty of seating. My latte was good (Coffee Angel was better), but this shop like many other local coffee shops in Dublin has only one size for coffees (with the exception of Coffee Angel, I think). So, if you are looking for a large coffee you will not find one here. I also tried a tiny chocolate tart which was pretty good. I was pretty disappointed with the baked goods at most coffee shops; they did not look appetizing.
google avatar

Jessica X.

Yelp
Upon some recommendations by my fellow foodies, I came into Clement and Pekoe to check out the ambiance, and most importantly, the coffee. I ordered a flat white with soy, which wasn't bad, but it was not completely memorable for me. The thing that deterred me most was the lighting inside--definitely personal preference here, though. I was trying to enjoy my book, but the lighting kind of makes the space seem a tad dismal. I also think service here could be a hit or miss because I've heard lovely things, but when I was there, the attitude I received was indifferent and cold. What I did like was that there was a tea section towards the back with a whole wall dedicated to a plethora of tea! Clement and Pekoe is also one of the best places to people watch; they've got a bench right out in front for you to sit and enjoy your cup of coffee. I'd probably hop on the bench the next time I visit; I wish they had more because they fill up so quickly. I can't comment on the pastries and goodies offered, as I didn't get a chance to try any, but I'll have to grab something next time; the photos look delish!
google avatar

Lu D.

Yelp
Clement and Pekoe is my go to place for meeting friends for coffee in town. Not only is it a great place to people watch from the bench outside, inside it's warm, open, spacious and modern with plenty of seating. I particularly love the selection of random books left on the tables, a great time killer when you're waiting for a friend! The coffee here is always lovely, however since discovering their hot chocolate one cold and wet November evening there was no going back! It's honestly one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted. Instead of just being given your drink, it's a kind of DIY process where you have to stir a stick of solid milk chocolate into a mug warm frothy milk. Nothing I've tried since has even come close to comparing to it!
google avatar

Lara Z.

Yelp
A dear friend of mine showed me this amazing place! I am always concerned when I have to drink a coffee outside Italy (Sorry, I am Italian after all and I come from Trieste, where Illy coffee was born! XP), but this time I have to say I was impressed! I went for an almond milk cappuccino, well it's the best I've ever had in my life! If you are scared because of the almond milk don't be, it's way better that the normal one! Go there with you hipster friends, they'll appreciate the place for sure! Also, I tried the apple pie and it was shamazing!! Definitely I'll bring my parents in December! Italian approved ;)

Yelp
There's a lot of talk about it being a great people watching spot on yelp and going here a took it with a pinch of salt I mean it's just another café with street view right? Nope! I found myself completely zoning out and watching the busy morning traffic of people heading off to work. I really enjoyed just spacing out for the 10 or 15 minutes and just enjoying my coffee and watching people rush to work. I got the coffee and fruit scone, the coffee was ok , I had read a blog online that included Clement and Pekoe in their 10 coffee's in Dublin, I wouldn't go that far but the coffee was definitely not bad. The fruit scone was lovely and the butter comes wrapped in grease proof paper that's made out to look like sweet wrappers which is really cool and it certainly looks great when it lads on the table. The staff were friendly and I did enjoy my time there gazing out at the Thursday morning foot traffic

H M.

Yelp
Had few cups there, was too watery and not warm. No improvement! Not a good place for a big group neither for reading. Staff were good.

Yelp
I was craving a coffee today, and a friend had been raving about this place, so I decided to pop in during lunch time to check it out. The store looks great -- dark walnut floors and beautifully branded jars for the tea -- and the coffee I got tasted great too. It was as good as I've had anywhere in Dublin really (apart from 3FE which is a cut above the rest). Price wise, it seems reasonable. A cappuccino was €2.50 (smaller than usual, but I like that) and they had 250gr bags of coffee for €5 or so. The staff seemed casual and friendly while I was there. They shared a laugh with a guy ahead of me in the queue when he went to pay and dropped his €2 coin which fell through an impossibly thin crack in the flooring. He wasn't laughing so much when he still had to pay the €2 for his Americano.

Yelp
Great coffee... one of the few that does a flat white in Dublin. Great little cake eats and at a really reasonable price that would gladly make me return again and again. The one down side... they don't currently have a toilet... they know this, they are working on it. Its got great decor and the sofa seat in the back room makes a lovely cosy coffee chat nest, not to mention the table in the middle set up perfectly for work meetings. YES Dublin, good coffee, good job.

Tijana M.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday afternoon with a friend to get some work done, only to find they don't have wifi on weekends! We found that strange but stuck around anyways. Their food and snacks are good and their chai lattes are pleasant, not the best I've had but not the worst either. The attitude of the manager however and the atmosphere kinda put me off, didn't seem like a cafe to sit down and get work done, more so one to grab a drink and have a chat instead. Would likely come back for that or during the week, but until then I give it 3 stars.

Yelp
Brilliant black coffee and the gluten free cake. If you are in Grafton area make sure to cask in, even for a take away. Not sure about the bitbuzz wifi though.

Yelp
A real neighbourhood institution and the without question the best coffee around. €1 cakes are a great sneaky treat too. Staff are great too, particularly Jenna and Helen :)
