"Located next to Main Beach, the much-quieter Cleo Street Beach is a favorite of scuba divers, who come here to explore the Foss 125 Barge. The wreck, which sank just offshore in 1958, is submerged in a mere 55 feet of water, making it easily accessible to even the novice diver. Those up for the adventure will find an extremely well-preserved site, wrapped in coral and surrounded by Laguna’s Marine Reserve, which boasts everything from seals and otters to colorful fish and even some larger sea life. If you’re not a diver, Cleo Street Beach is still worth a trip to stroll the sand with a coffee from the nearby Orange Inn in hand. Just be sure to bring your four-legged friend along, as the beach welcomes dogs."

Yelp
Came across this place via instagram on a work trip. Such a beautiful ambiance. You can't get a better view of the ocean! Friendly staff and the food was so flavorful. Pricing is decent for being steps away from the beach. It was so beautiful at sunset. Highly recommend! Will be back!

Yelp
I've been to the Deck a few times and I love the ambiance, being right next to the beach! The drinks are yummy, and strong. I enjoyed the Cali cooler and the Red Tide. The first time I ate here I ordered the chicken sandwich and the chips and guacamole. This time I ordered the chips and guacamole because I remembered how delicious it was! My friend and I snagged a couple chairs at the bar and the bartenders were so friendly and engaging. You can come at night and see the twinkling lights above you, or during the day. Highly recommend coming at sunset! I noticed people were dressed pretty casually, and the vibe is more laid back. All of the good coming up looked fantastic, and this is a photo op place. You can also rent out the cute chairs for catering, parties, etc.

Yelp
We went for a short hike at Moro Canyon and came over here for lunch on 4/27. Amazing views, great vibe and excellent service as well. This place gets really busy on the weekends specially when the weather is nice, expect to wait between 60 to 90 minutes for walk-ins. They offer valet for $15 I think. If you don't mind walking to the residential area on the other side of PCH, you should not have any issues finding a spot. Pretty extensive menu and presentation was lovely. I was excited about my dish because I love anything with saffron. However, the saffron was lost in the somewhat tangy broth. Didn't really taste much of it. The salmon dish was good but the flavors did not go well together.

Yelp
It's a great place to catch view and decent appetizers to chill at. Drinks are okay, but seafood seem all pretty fresh. Great view that's the take from it. I personally enjoy the ocean breathe while chilling with my friends and food in our stomach! TIP- Valet or meter street parking

Yelp
Arrived at a super busy time but so worth it ! I didn't want to wait for a table so I waited for an open spot at the bar. Bartenders were cool ,friendly and fast! The food and drinks were tasty! The view was great and I really enjoyed myself for my first time at Laguna .

Yelp
Amazing spot for an afternoon/evening meal on the beach. Everything was perfection - location, customer service, food, beverages and even price. Found the location easy enough using GPS and pulled up to the valet because I can't even imagine trying to find parking near The Deck. They don't take reservations which suited us just fine. We were lucky to get one of the last tables along the railing which is really where you want to sit to enjoy the scenery because really, that's what you came for! We enjoyed a couple of cocktails, appetizers and then split a burger which was just the perfect amount of food. Our first round of drinks included a Liquid Vacation (my guy's) and a The Smoking Hot Oaxacan (me) along with a bowl of clam chowder and a plate of hummus. Everything was wonderful and plentiful! The hummus is really delicious! Next we tried The Deck's Backyard Lemonade with peach vodka (my guy) and The Red Tide (me). I could drink those Red Tides ALL DAY LONG! We then ordered the Beach Burger and it was cooked to perfection and quite delicious. Other diners seemed to be really enjoying themselves as well. This is definitely a fantastic spot that I highly recommend to anyone wanting a casual, delicious meal right on the beach. Can't beat it!

Yelp
The Deck on Laguna offers an unbeatable view and a prime beachfront location, perfect for relaxing while listening to the waves. It's a great spot to kick back and enjoy a drink as the sun sets, with the scenery often stealing the show. Unfortunately, the dining experience doesn't always match up to the vista. While I've had some tasty meals here, the food can be inconsistent at times, not always delivering on the flavors you'd hope for. One area where I'd really like to see improvement is in the bar's cleanliness and hygiene standards. I've noticed the bartenders don't always pay attention to this as carefully as they should. Drinks are prepared quickly, but the bar area itself could benefit from more regular cleaning to ensure a better, fresher experience. Despite these hiccups, The Deck is still worth a visit if you're after a picturesque spot to unwind. If they can focus on better consistency in their food quality and improve hygiene practices, this place could truly shine as an all-around destination. A solid 3-star rating for the spectacular view alone, with hopes that these issues will be addressed soon!

Yelp
Deck was a great spot for a sunny day meal! We had the clam chowder, Deck burger, and ceviche. All items were delicious and perfect for a light lunch. We were celebrating a birthday and our friendly waiter brought a complimentary warm sticky toffee cake. All was great!

Yelp
We were originally looking to go to Driftwood, however, the set up at The Deck called our names and we felt it was a more casual and beachy vibe which is what we needed today. We got sat right away and enjoyed the sun, breeze, and sound of waves as this is a beachside restaurant. After a few minutes, our kind and welcoming server came up to take our order. We both got micheladas and a tuna tartare to share. She got the deck tacos and I got the grilled cheese sandwich. Micheladas were ok. It wasn't the typical michis that I'm used to. Instead of a tajin rim, it was only salt and I felt it lacked the latin flavors. Tuna tartare was refreshing but lacked a bit of flavor. In my opinion, it could have used some lemon or some kind of citrus. My grilled cheese sandwich stole the show. It wasn't my favorite grilled cheese sandwich of all time but in comparison to everything else we tasted, it was the best. It came out with tomato soup which I felt had too much cream but I'm biased as I don't usually consume foods that have heavy cream in it. I dunked the grilled cheese into the tomato soup to give it some moisture for the perfect bite. Cheese inside was slightly sweet which is also not my favorite, I prefer a more salty cheese. However, it did pair well with the salty and crispy bacon strips. Tacos looked good and my friend seemed to enjoy it, however, she wished it had hot sauce or something to give it more oomf. Overall, I think it's a cute spot that I might return to specifically for the environment and great service and maaaaybe to try other dishes on the menu because I wasn't that impressed with the dishes and drinks we tried. 4 stars because the beautiful location and great service.

Yelp
The deck is located in such a perfect location! You can see the ocean on the deck, and has really cool vibes. Food was good but wasn't special. But I'd eat here again since this place is exceptional view and really fun! And the service... hmm it took them forever getting us silverwares, and forgot our order, when we ask about it, they simply ignored it. I know it's a busy restaurant, but hmm still!

Yelp
Food: 5* Service: 5* Ambience: 8* You are basically on the back deck of someone's previous home that has been expanded. It is beautiful. We enjoyed our 25 anniversary here and it was magical. We ordered the seafood tower (it is bigger than the pictures let on), shared a clam chowder, and shared a NY steak. The seafood was great, only a 1/2 lobster tail, but ample shrimp, oysters and crab legs. The sauces were great and it really hit the spot. The clam chowder was good, but know it has bacon so pescatarians beware! It was good. The steak was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were good and the vegetables tasted of garlic. They were fantastic! Because it was our anniversary they brought us three desserts to share at the table: toffee pudding (to die for!), the key lime (fantastic) and the chocolate cake was moist and delicious. Service was impeccable. Samantha at the bar was so kind, thorough, and on point. She really kept our glasses flowing!

Yelp
Decided to try out the New England Clam Chowder Service was reasonably fast for a sunny afternoon My Bowl of Chowder came with a mini Tobasco sauce. My buddy says "This is the Best Clam Chowder I've Ever Tasted. He's right, it tastes awesome!! With Tabasco providing the Spice, it Really hit the spot!

Yelp
Came back for my dads birthday. On a Tuesday, we got an ocean view table with no wait. The food remains delicious, and the liquid vacation is my favorite drink. Came out to $150 for three people with drinks, charcuterie plate, shrimp tacos, and the chicken sandwich. We all cleaned our plates as this place isn't just a view, it's quality food as well. Ended the night with a walk on the beach from their beach access, it was perfect! Will come again.
google avatar

Kelsea K.

Yelp
Absolutely love coming here for food, drinks, and a great view! There was a wait to sit at the tables so we opted to sit at the bar. The bartenders were very attentive and super friendly, making conversations with everyone sitting at the bar! We ordered the California Cooler, Red Tide, and Chips + Guacamole appetizer to share! I come here whenever I'm in Laguna - it's the perfect spot to grab lunch with friends, have a sunset dinner, or bring people visiting from out of town!

Yelp
Love coming to this place with my fiance. The vibe is always chill. Food and drinks are great
google avatar

Kat M.

Yelp
The food and ambience here is 5 stars. Everything was delicious and the ocean is beautiful. This is a great place to relax and watch the sunset. I like that it's first come first serve. Our waiter was nice, but hard to get service. It wasn't his fault. He seemed to have too many tables. Hubby hated the spicy, smoky cocktail. He said it was neither. He liked the spicy margaritas more. The poor mother and daughter next to us we're seated before us and another table. They forgot all about them and over an hour later we were done with our meal and they had yet to get their guacamole. I did hear the waiter offer to comp them. I will return. Expect mediocre service, but the rest makes up for it.
google avatar

Mimi W.

Yelp
Great food and views! We came here on a Friday night and got seated quickly with great service!!
google avatar

Aliyah S.

Yelp
This is a must go if you're looking for some food with a beautiful view of Laguna. It is literal steps away from the beach as the patio deck is connected to a small staircase leading to the beach. The food was surprisingly really good but the vibes were even better. Definitely go in earlier to reserve a table as seating is limited.

Jude S.

Yelp
Great view for a beachside meal! Menu could have more variety, but the margaritas were delicious.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel that this bar is attached to. Naturally we had to check it out. It has a great view of the area. Beyond just the amazing ocean RIGHT THERE, also a nice visual up the coast. The menu is very nice and I'm sure you can't go wrong with any item you pick. I chose the Salmon over Farro. An amazing dish. It was so nicely balanced and subtle. I recommend attacking the sauce underneath. I didn't combine it with my bites as much as i should have. Space is a bit tight to navigate and configure chairs. It gets worked out, but the menu is worth putting up with the clutter. I dinged a star because of the clutter and the awkward host stand and lack of sign. Lack of sign for anything, where to wait, go, or a splash of the name as you enter the balcony and see the ocean. I feel like thats a missed opportunity for visitors to have a photo op with the space. Service was nice and staff were pleasant. I feel like the space is busy often. We saw a lot of locals that were not staying at the hotel. There is a valet in think it was $18. We charged it to the room and it was $45 for the night.

Yelp
Had a birthday dinner here. We started with a couple old fashioned's and then enjoyed a ribeye and beer salad. Both were excellent. Our server, Dylan was personable and attentive. They finished us off with free donut and ice cream dessert!

Yelp
First time here, can't complain at all. Sunday evening 5pm it was pretty busy. We put our name on the wait list (they don't take reservations) and it was a 45 min wait. We went to the bar (you can sit at the bar or at the few high tops around the bar while you wait and you can even order food from there if you prefer) and had a couple of drinks then were seating in about an hour right on the ocean side. I had the Dungeness Crab Louie Salad and my son had Oysters and the Laguna Cioppino. Lots of food and great service. Valet parking is the ONLY way to go. Laguna is know for very difficult parking so save yourself the aggravation. I will definitely return.
google avatar

Carl M.

Yelp
Oysters fresh caught started us off right. I tried the clam chowder which was decent, but the shrimp tacos were a highlight; they included a mini bottle of Tabasco which I like and gave the right heat the tacos deserve. Wife had the ceviche and shared bites with me. I love the red onion, she doesn't, but the fish is fresh and delish. They cater to a younger crowd so the noise level is pretty high, but didn't diminish from being close to the shore and a spectacular sunset. Heaters were being set up as we left with the sun to encourage later partying. We dipped out for a walk on the beach. I will return.$$$

Jobeth E.

Yelp
Great views. Nice ocean breeze. And did I mention, it's pet friendly. I will come here every time im in Laguna. It's one of the closest restaurant/bar you can find by the beach. They have a valet team that can park your car if needed and the place can be found a small flight of stairs. the staircase leads you to a heavenly view of the water and the beach side. Feel free to sit at the bar or at one of the tables. The waiting staff was kind and recommended a few bites to eat. We tried the hamburger and the tuna poke which was awesome. The flavors were light and just right. Easily shareable and the drink menu included cocktails, wines, and hard liquor. Stop by for a good time and a great place to get some sun.

Yelp
*FOOD* You gotta do the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. Seafood is my go-to and the bar is very high, but this sandwich was killer. The fish was cooked perfectly - not tough at all - and all components on the sandwich complemented it perfectly. All members of my party ordered the sandwich, and we all couldn't stop raving about it. *DRINKS* I tried the espresso martini, which was the special for that night only. It was too sweet for my liking but another member of my party enjoyed it. *SERVICE* Heads up that they don't take reservations here, but on a Saturday evening our wait was 45 minutes. Tables are first come first serve, so it's best to be there right when your wait ends. We got a drink next door and enjoyed the sunset views while waiting for our table. Eric was our server, and he was great. We really appreciated how much he seemed to care about ensuring we all ordered something we were bound to enjoy. He was very personable, and we all loved chatting with him. *AMBIANCE* You can't beat the view of the beautiful Laguna beaches. A great, laid-back vibe here. We came straight from the beach - sandy and comfortable - and we didn't feel out of place with a wedding happening in the event room just above the deck.

Yelp
Fabulous! Literally on the ocean front and Mother's Day approved. No reservations but got on the waitlist. Waitlist was about 2 hours for this busy mama day but it was worth the wait! I just took the time to walk around to the local shops and art gallery. Ambiance was spectacular! Great vibes and good music. Drinks were amazing! And staff was kind and professional. Now the food! Omgeeee! What a delight. Ordered 1/2 a dozen oysters, halibut, lobster quesadilla and the kid approved grilled cheese with tomato soup. Everything was served fresh and full of bursting flavors. Would love to just come here and sit at the bar for drinks and apps too. Date night, special occasion, family time or just because you don't want to miss out on this perfect spot! Hands down in my top 3! Cant wait to try more yummy drinks and food soon! See you there ;)

Yelp
Food - good American food and seafood. Starters or shareables, salads, soups, sandwiches and entrees. We ordered a small shared plate of big eye tuna tartare with chips. That is definitely a great starter. Then I ordered the spicy chicken ciabatta sandwich and wifey ordered the Ciopino. My sandwich was good and wife says the Ciopino was good too! Sandwich comes with potato chips. I always wondered why they don't have fries so I asked. As it turns out, they don't have gas appliances in the kitchen so they can't fry fries. So chips it is! I have also tried their burgers here in the past, and it too was yummy! Service - their service is pretty on point here and they seem to always be on top of things as understandably that they should bring that this is a desirable place to dine because it is right beside the water and also because this place is fairly small so they have to be or else they will alienate their waiting customers. Ambiance - like I said, right beside the water so people flock here especially for lunch. Get here fast! Before noon is the better time to get here or else you may have to wait. If you get here after noon, expect to wait at least a half hour. But nonetheless, worth the wait. Perhaps get some drinks by the bar area while waiting. They do have a bar area but it too gets packed as it is small also. Parking - valet is available or drive around and find metered parking nearby. Verdict - yes! Get here any way you can and enjoy the vibe and scenery! If you are lucky enough to find a table. But yessss!

Karen S.

Yelp
We took a chance on finding a table here at peak time on a Wednesday evening. The hostess, Jolene, was such an angel! She had us wait a few extra minutes and gave us a table right on the edge of the deck over the sand! Perfect for watching the sunset during our dinner and for seeing the whale spouts and dolphins playing in the ocean! Our waiter, Erik, gave us great suggestions on what to order (we've only eaten here once before). We had the mahi sandwich, the clam chowder with a side of garlic bread, and the halibut. All of our food was delicious! Notably, the halibut and mahi were fresh and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the vegetables/sauces on the halibut very much. We also shared the yummy toffee cake with fresh berries and whipped cream. And the drinks were great as well. We never felt rushed, great food, and it was fun to watch all of the ocean activities during our meal and hear everyone's reactions when the dolphins would jump and splash. We are so glad we took a detour on our way down the coast to eat here again!
google avatar

Kara G.

Yelp
Service, food, and ambiance were all fantastic. This place gets busy!! Note that valet parking is $16 here. I recommend the $3/hr lot just a few steps up the street instead.
google avatar

Greta Z.

Yelp
The place up the hill was snooty and had a horrific wait time. We wandered down to this spot based on reviews and felt like we definitely made a good decision. We were seated within fifteen minutes at a gorgeous table almost on the beach. Service was slow as molasses due to the crowds, but we weren't in any hurry with those views! The New England clam chowder hit the spot, and the local halibut with peas was delightful. I found the prices reasonable for such a beautiful, relaxed vibe and delicious food.
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
We went here yesterday evening for dinner and only stayed for the appetizer. The view was beautiful and the food was good. We had a couple of cocktails and oysters. We sat at the bar and the bartender didn't seem to know the menu, he couldn't answer basic questions about it and only looked into it when we asked a second time if there was someone else that could answer our question. He was rather unfriendly so we finished our drink and went to another location for dinner. Too bad, we used to really love this place but the service seems to have gone down.
google avatar

Rheagan K.

Yelp
This place was great! I visit Laguna Beach every couple of weeks and love to try new places. I stopped by around 4:30 on a Saturday and it was packed!! Luckily I was by myself so I was able to be seated very quickly. Despite the business, the servers was still quick and easy! I got the oysters and the ceviche and also had a cocktail. Everything was amazing! I loved being in the deck right on the water. It was a really nice vibe! It was a little pricy but for the location, It was expected.
google avatar

Jenny S.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in CA. Food, service, and ambiance are wonderful. You are on the shore of the ocean and can smell the salt water. Amazing! Enjoy.
google avatar

Erica C.

Yelp
The views are the best here! It's right on the beach and this side of the beach isn't crowded. So it's nice and peaceful. Tried the seafood tower and everything was really fresh. I also tried a bit of the Beach Burger. The burger was cooked to perfection - so juicy! Great place to take in the beautiful view and have some drinks.
google avatar

Mylene C.

Yelp
Yummy food, fun vibe and gorgeous sunset at The Deck on Laguna! We tried the Guac and chips, grilled cheese and soup and the mahi mahi sandwich- all delicious!
google avatar

Danica C.

Yelp
The Deck is a laguna MUST. I love coming here for drinks at sunset. It's the most beautiful spot for a date night or a low key girls night out. My favorite thing on the menu is the Crab Louie Salad and you can't forget an order of oysters! The service is always great and this is a spot I will always keep on coming back to.

Yelp
I visited The Deck with one of my friends on Sunday as a celebratory graduation lunch for her. It was an impromptu visit to Laguna Beach since she had never been but I enjoy going. It was both of our first time at this restaurant. We arrived at the valet, didn't know that was the preferred option but being in Laguna I know parking can be a hassle. The valet attendant (didn't catch a name) was rude which got me in a funky mood. I'm not sure if that valet is mainly for the restaurant but there is also a hotel attached so I'm guessing they share that service. Everyone else at valet was cool, it was just that gentleman that had attitude. We dropped off the car, go check in with the hostess which was about a 30-40 min wait. The restaurant is small with not a lot of moving/walking space, so be prepared to say "excuse me" 10 times. Not terrible as it was crowded for a Sunday afternoon. The view was so nice! We didn't realize we would be right on the beach. The food was so good! We both got the clam chowder bowl, kudos to them for the mini Tabasco bottles too. I got the Mahi Mahi sandwich & kettle chips. The sandwich was really good, the chips weren't anything special but good. For my drink I had the sea worthy & my friend got the red tide (non-alcoholic). We both enjoyed our drinks! My friend got the Laguna Cipppino which was really big portion size, she couldn't finish it but it was really tasty. Our server was cool, he didn't go over the top on service but was attentive enough. Most if not all the staff we encountered were nice. Overall, it was a nice view, good food & drinks! We would definitely be back.

Yelp
The Dexk is not only the perfect location but the food is great. One of the best burgers, oysters are so good, seafood tower...shrimp tacos, can't go wrong with the grilled cheese and tomato soup! Drinks are great too.

Yelp
First off: know that this place is OUTSIDE. I saw some patio heaters which make non-summer dinners technically possible, but definitely check the weather before heading over. If the weather IS agreeable, others may reach the same conclusion as you, and you may be in for a wait. Yes, even at 3:00 on a Sunday. If you do wait, there's really no place to wait. Some confusion at the hostess stand was remedied with a little follow up and clarification. The bar is smallish and may be packed as well. And NO reservations, so I don't know what to tell you...play hooky and come mid-week? Second: parking. There is none. The hotel appears to have a valet operation, but be prepared for a short hike up to PCH. So if you made it this far, I can tell you that the food is good, if pricey. I could eat the Mahi Sandwich every day, but it's $24. A more upscale side than chips would be appropriate it this price point- perhaps a tiny green salad in vinaigrette? Ahi Poke stack had nice presentation for a reasonable $19. Soups are a good value at $6 - $10, but $30 for a Lobster Quesadilla?!? Come on. $9 for a Corona bottle? Please. View tax, I guess? Service was good and the view, tremendous. You're right over the sand...

Dee Leh L.

Yelp
Food is outstanding. Nice wine selection for some day drinking. Great views, unobstructed wide view of the ocean.
google avatar

Lily J.

Yelp
The Deck has excellent views of the Pacific Ocean. We sat at a table right on the edge, facing the beach. It was an amazing sunny warm day. Try to go when the weather is good. But you might need sunscreen. The lunch salads are not inexpensive. Expect to spend $31 plus tax and tip, just on the salad plus $16 for Valet parking (before the tip they ask for). So lunch, without drinks is at least about $60. The Crab Louie salad was average, just missing some flavor. It was bland. My friend loves this dish at many restaurants, but not this restaurant. I had the salmon salad, and the salmon seemed overcooked. It was a bit hard. I took the leftover salmon to feed to my dog, at home. The scene in the restaurant is on another level. There are designer handbags and clothes and sunglasses everywhere and every one looked quite impressive. It seems like a place to be seen. Or maybe take a pic and put it on Instagram. Or be seen. I parked in a spot that was next to spots labeled Valet only. No valet was available for me. No one working Valet was attending the stand. So I parked and left for The Deck. So when I came back from lunch, I went to my car and the Valet chased me down and demanded $16 for Parking, even though they were not around when I arrived. I followed him back to the stand and paid, but it wasn't a good feeling. He was a talker and it took 5 minutes to pay. He mentioned that they could have towed my car. I can't imagine a restaurant that would tow your car while you dined. Dang, I don't know if I would go back.

Yelp
The Deck + a Walk on Laguna Beach= Great date idea! These were outstanding: Tuna tartare Mahi mahi sando Liquid vacation-drink Next time: Lobster quesadillas

Elina K.

Yelp
An absolute gem of a restaurant by the water with truly delicious food. Out waiter Bajj was incredible, so nice and definetly made our experience even more amazing!

Yelp
This place is great to stop by for lunch and drinks on the patio when the weather is nice. The service is always great, the food is mediocre. But love to come hangout by the water for some good vibes.

Mrs M.

Yelp
Love eating here. Nice to sit outside and get a drink. Great service, wait is never too bad. Good cocktails.
google avatar

Yelp
To be able to feel the air here where you can chill and watch sunset by the beach with the average price. For me the food was a bit salty or maybe we are light eaters. Temporary service. I think I will only come here for the sea view with a cocktail or a beer to enjoy the sea life and snacks. Thank you!

Yelp
Breathtaking views of the ocean, as The Deck is literally on the sand of the world-famous LAGUNA BEACH. The Chef creates exquisite cuisines including fresh seafood. Employees give wonderful, classy, yet laid-back customer service. My favorite bar/restaurant in Laguna Beach. There's no way to regret time spent here. Dream vacation hotspot for all ages/cultures.
google avatar

Stacy M.

Yelp
We went because it sounded nice. Great view, great price and great service. The humus was awesome, the oysters were not. Meter parking on the street easy walk down but hard walk up. 16.00 for valet parking. It was a nice day. Small location

Yelp
Can't get anymore iconic than these spectacular views! Laguna beach is beautiful and among the top beaches in America with its silky sands and crystal clear water. The beach is located in the affluent area of Laguna with all those multimillion dollar house. Besides an unforgettable walk on the beach, there's plenty of restaurants, bars and sport activities, like basketball and volley ball on the beach.

Yelp
Such a great niche place! Great views, food and as close to the water as you can get!
