Cleopatra Hotel Luxor

I stayed here for one night. The surroundings might surprise you at first since the property is located on a local village street, but don't let that fool you. I felt safe throughout my stay, and there were many other tourists nearby. The locals were kind and welcoming, especially the front desk staff, who treated me with great care. You’ll be near dirt road with animals outside but it’s also walkable to the Nile (5 mins). The room was very clean overall, though the area under the bed could have been better. The balcony was a nice touch. Hot water was available, and breakfast was included and very good. For one night, the price was reasonable, and the rooftop view was beautiful. Unfortunately, I arrived at a very inconvenient time when the village had lost electricity, and my esiM had run out, so I can't recall how strong the Wi-Fi was. Uber does operate in the area, which I used, though some drivers tend to be inappropriate and ask for extra money. The location is convenient, with nearby attractions and easy access to the felucca and the waterfront. Loved my stay here.

This is one of the best stays in my entire Egypt trip. Mehmood is amazing and helpful. Great room. Even better service. Just feels like a home away from home. The view on the rooftop is great as well. It’s convenient to to travel from this hotel to all the places including hot air balloon ride, Karnak temple etc. loved it. Definitely recommend it.

Nasir, the owner, was equally warm and gracious, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a family home than a typical guesthouse. Amazing hotel! The location on the West Bank is perfect, much quieter than the East and walking distance to the boats. They organized great tours to everywhere in Luxor that I wanted to see and helped with transport to Aswan. Mahmoud is also an amazing cook, I ate every meal here and was never disappointed! The room was clean with a great bed, hot shower and great air con. Rooftop also provides a great view of the hot air balloons in the morning.

I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel from the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. The room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with little details that made a difference. What stood out most was how genuinely kind and attentive everyone was; nothing felt forced. The location is perfect — close to everything but still quiet enough to relax. Breakfast was fresh and tasty every morning, and the atmosphere around the hotel felt calm and inviting. It’s rare to find a place that balances comfort, quality, and great service this well. Definitely one of those hotels you remember and want to come back to.

All the stars for this hotel is for Mohamud, the host. The room is okayish but its not an expensive place so do not expect that. Its an old place, small room and very small bathroom. If you can ignore this, the service is the best and the view for from the hotel especially early morning is mesmerizing. Breakfast and hospitality are incredible.

Having breakfast on the ornately painted rooftop terrace with the view of the Valley of the Kings was truly memorable. The hotel is quaintly decorated and the rooms are spacious & cozy, made us feel at home. The location of the hotel is quiet but strategic enough - it is walking distance to the ferry & restaurants - we had interesting sights along the way (dry cleaning, essential oils shop, mixed nuts shop, mini marts, tuk-tuks, camels, horses, donkeys). It is also close to the hot air balloon launch site, so we did not have to wake up too early for our sunrise hot air balloon ride. The staff were warm & welcoming, especially the famous Mahmoud, he was the receptionist, the chef & the waiter - all in one. We had our luggages brought up & down during check-in & check-out, which was nice. After check-out, we left Luxor to go to Aswan. When we reached Aswan, one of my family members just realised that he left his green jacket in his room at Cleopatra Hotel Luxor. I immediately asked the hotel to look for it and they found it! Then I asked our lovely tour guide in Luxor, Maria, to help us - she waited at the ferry dock and the hotel staff came to meet her at the ferry dock to pass her the jacket. Maria then had the jacket delivered to us in Aswan. We were so grateful how helpful & sincere our tour guide and the hotel staff were, thank you so much! The cleanliness of the bedroom & bathroom could be improved a bit. The floor was dusty & the fridge seemed like it has not been used in a long time, it was unplugged when we checked in, so when we opened it, the smell coming from it was not so fresh. Some of the lights on the bedroom wall did not work. The light bulbs in the bedroom & bathroom were a mix of cool white & warm white. It would be nicer if all the light bulbs were warm white for extra coziness. A hand bidet would be better than the built-in bidet. The breakfast was delicious but it would be nice to have some simple fruits & vegetables like bananas, tomatoes & cucumbers too.

A fantastic place with a hospitable and kind owner. The rooms are clean, and the breakfasts and dinners are excellent. The owner will prepare the best food you'll ever eat in Egypt.
