We have just had our wedding at Cley Windmill and honestly from the very first contact, everything has been absolutely amazing! The staff are friendly, flexible and the service was faultless. The food was so good, everyone commented on how great it was and we left very full! The rooms and location are simply stunning. We had the most incredible day and want to share how awesome this place is. 5 stars is not enough to describe how good our experience was. We will definitely be back and thank you again for making our stay just perfect!

Cley Windmill is a delightful place to stay; we had two nights in the River Room which was comfortable and overlooked the marshlands with the coast in the distance; it also has it's own little patio with comfy chairs and table, reached from a french window. The breakfasts were lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. They only serve dinner at the end of the week so we ate at the Harnser (High Street, 3 minutes walk) and the Dun Cow (4 mins drive) but would have eaten here if possible as the food at breakfast was very good, although the dining room is small - so book in advance! There is a pub on the high street and a smokery, pottery and deli too. The church is really interesting and huge; like so many Norfolk villages it was once bigger and wealthy. The coast road passes through all the villages and Cley is a bit of a bottleneck but very quaint. The walk from the Windmill along the coastal path to the (stony) beach is lovely, passing over the marshes with little boats meandering through the cuttings. Relaxing and iconic stay.

My son had husband wedding weekend here. It was marvelous. Food and drink great, very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. Maybe a bit more training for the younger serving staff would be in order, or some other way improve their concentration and memory!

The Cley Windmill has a wonderful position on the north Norfolk coast that feels almost remote. Staff were helpful and professional but not intrusive. The venue we would describe as quirky rather than luxurious. The fixtures and fittings are similarly presented in that they are homely bordering on rustic. The breakfast menu was extensive and tasty. The portions served at dinner were plentiful and were like home cooked food rather than haut cuisine. It was certainly an experience staying at the Windmill!

Bar one issue, this was awesome.||The staff, the food, the setting, the windmill itself, the location - all absolutely fantastic. We loved it.||But oh my god the mattress. Soft as jelly - so bad I had to sleep on the floor (and I really did).||The rooms in the windmill are of course not that large. Thry are cute, fascinating and great to enjoy But the small rooms means that the beds are modest in size. I have no issue with that. But when the bed is small, the last thing one wants is a soft mattress so you end up rolling into the middle - which we did. ||To be clear it did not spoil our stay. The place is beautiful. But our night’s sleep was not great as a result.

What a lovely place to stay . We booked at the last minute and were lucky enough to get a nice room in the actual windmill. The room was spacious and very comfortable and had its own private garden overlooking the marshes. Although the room was a little chilly the very nice receptionist soon sorted this out and was nice and warm afterwards. Lots of hot water for the bath also. It’s a pity we could not stay longer . Breakfast was also very good and cooked to order . Would definitely recommend a stay here

This was a birthday gift and I loved it, could only stay one night but wish we’d stayed for longer. The room was clean, comfortable and the amenities were generous. Breakfast was good and all the staff we met were lovely. There is a small car park which gets busy with a walking route straight to the beach.|Heating was on all night so a bit warm and the shower pressure is a bit low depending on how hot you want it but these are just observations nothing that would stop me staying again and considering you are in the middle of nowhere both are understandable conditions of staying in a windmill!

What a treat! We stayed at the Dovecote and it was really lovely. Well equipped, very clean, very comfortable and warm. The breakfasts in the Windmill itself were delicious.....so good to have fresh fruit, and the full English was excellent. The whole experience was great and made a quiet birthday weekend very special.

Yelp
Spectacular sight, best approached along the marsh dyke path from Blakeney, Cley Windmill stands out with its huge white arms and contrasting brick body, beautifully set against the rustling reed and rush beds in front. Behind is the ancient little village of Cley-next-the-sea, with its windy little high street, quaint, traditional, some trendy and arty little shops and cobble stoned buildings. You can stay at the windmill as a resident, just stop there for a cup of something to keep you going, browse the little shop or just gawp at its magnificence. The coastal footpath runs right through the middle of the courtyard enclave around the base, so no excuse for missing it. Excellent.
