This hotel is the cleanest and perhaps nicest hotel we have ever stayed in! My wife and I spent 3 nights here on a business trip in early September 2024. We travel frequently for work (we're pilots) and this hotel is noteworthy in a several ways. The most memorable aspect is how incredibly clean it is. As we noticed the cleanliness, we were compelled to see just how clean...there was no dust on the picture frames, no dust on the lamps, no dust behind the side tables, no mildew on the grout in the shower (we learned they bleach the shower between each guest, yet there was no lingering smell of bleach!). They constantly sweep off the porches and walkways so, amazingly for a beach resort, it's easy to not track sand into the rooms. They even remove the covers and pillows from the outside chairs nightly, so they stay clean and fresh. On a day that we saw the housekeepers refreshing our room...there were 7 of them knocking it out team-style! And while they were cleaning they were chatting, laughing, and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our interpretation is that their happiness conveyed beautifully to their high-quality work. Other memorable aspects were the comfortable beds, the extensive collection of art and decor (which makes investigating all the corners of the hotel a treat), the beautiful breakfast spread (it was simple yet thoughtful and delicious), and the amazing staff. We had many pleasant interactions with the staff and found them to be extra engaging. We had a great chat with the owner when we commented on some vases decorating the great-room that we were especially fond of...and she gave them to us! The great room was an especially inviting place to be. While at most hotels I enjoy passing through their common areas, this was the first that I actually spent time in. On multiple evenings we'd have tea (their coffee and tea service was available all day and night, until 9 or 10 pm or so I believe) while hanging out in the great room. The lighting is great, there is an impressively diverse collection of plants, and there is a nice amount of decor items and art. And each night they light real candles, many dozens of them, and put them all around the room and inside of the art pieces. The attention to detail, the staff morale, and of course the unmatched cleanliness all came together to make this hotel an exceptionally memorable place that we would highly recommend to stay (or work) at.

Just had our 2nd stay here last week. We've stayed in one of their smaller rooms once and this past time was in residence 202. No doubt the residences on the beach are the way to go. We had 3 decks, 2 bedrooms, the view was great. Super close to town. Workers are so friendly. Clean. Only spot like it on the water in Nantucket

We stayed at the Cliffside during the first week of June. I booked for my daughter’s 21st birthday celebration we loved our time there. We have been to the island many times since my daughter was born. We rented homes and stayed in town. We retain the magical memories of other trips and this one was no different. We loved the room, the view of the beach and the kind team who looked after us. We swam in the pool and loved fitness center. Everyone we met was genuine and kind. For a small property, everyone puts a lot of effort into a very special and high touch experience. We rested and enjoyed our stay immensely. We took advantage of the beach and an afternoon snack at the Galley. I travel a lot and this property really stands out as a special and guest oriented place. I would love to be able to return. We still really love the island and hope we can continue to visit for many years to follow.

My husband and I stayed in an Ocean View room at the Cliffside for three nights at the end of May -- and were thrilled with the experience. Although we were there slightly before the season started, the staff was very attentive and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about the room, which was very thoughtfully decorated, had an incredibly comfortable bed and, best of all, a private porch from which to view the beach and bay mere steps away. We took advantage of the continental breakfasts, the on-site restaurant and the pool and gym areas -- all of which were lovely. I especially appreciated all the little attentions to detail throughout the property. You can certainly tell that someone put a lot of thought into curating a restful, welcoming guest experience.

This was the spot with THE VIEW. We decided to stay here for the beach since room rates compared to town weren’t so drastic with all the accommodations offered. The only thing is that breakfast is basic so you might as well go into town to eat. Oranges, apples, bananas, cereal, and baked goods. Good for a light snack. Also the pool/hot tub hours are 10am-5pm for the pool and 10am-7pm for the hot tub. For someone who is an early riser I would have loved a dip in the hot tub before headed into town and also a dip after sunset. Other than that this place had it all. Be sure to book a reservation at the restaurant in advance!!

Spent 5 nights here in late August. Was lucky enough to get a beachside cottage that opened right on to the beach and was more like a small cottage than a room. It was totally renovated and had a full kitchen, living room, even washer/dryer in the bathroom. Could not have been more comfortable and livable. The whole place is fantastic. Small, professionally run yet friendly. The young staff set up beach chairs and an umbrella for us each day. And we loved Nantucket in general. I see why it’s so hard to get a reservation here and also why they are so strict about their non-cancellation policy. |You do not need a car on the island in my opinion. We rented bikes and used them often. To and from the ferry with luggage, we used Uber. And a couple of times, George from the resort drove us to dinner and picked us up. Thanks, George!|The only slight negative was the daily breakfast, which was included in our fare. It was pretty basic and the same every day. For the price of accommodations, they could easily do better. |Fair Warning: Nantucket in general is an expensive place in the summer, as all the merchants have a short season to make money. Cliff side is a costly place to stay, but if you can afford it, you will love it.

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at Cliffside. The property is located right on the beach and out at the end of the island, so very quiet and away from the hustle of the small downtown area. It is about a 15 minute walk into downtown, so an easy stroll.||||We stayed in one of their beachfront suites. It was very nice and well decorated. Nice porch to sit and walk right onto the beach. Great view every night of the sunset as well. The suite had a small kitchen and a very large bathroom, including washer and dryer.||||The service at Cliffside is outstanding. Everyone is great and always available to assist with any needs. One thing that blew us away was that one morning after it had rained over night, the staff came by and replaced all the cushions on the porch chairs with dry ones, so we could sit outside first thing that morning. We never asked, they just came by and did it.||||They offer a very nice continental breakfast with a good selection of pastries, breads, doughnuts, fruit and yogurt. There is the Galley restaurant onsite, but we did not have any meals there.||||I highly recommend this property for any visit to Nantucket. I also really recommend you visit over Columbus Day weekend, as most of the island has started to clear out for the season. The crowds are non existent and most everything is still open and operating. It seems like Columbus Day weekend is the true end of season for Nantucket.||||Again, a quick 15 minute walk and you can be downtown for the all the great restaurants, shops and activities that Nantucket has to offer. If you are not into walking, it is pretty easy to get Uber, Lyft or have the staff call a taxi.||||Another recommendation is to work with the resort staff to rent a Jeep for the day. Great way to tour the entire island and all the different beaches. There are also several off road opportunities to drive on the beach out to some of the most beautiful points and lighthouses.||||We will definitely be back to Nantucket in the fall and our first call for accommodations will be Cliffside.

We stayed at the Cliffside for 3 nights in one of the ocean front rooms - the location is just unbeatable. Step of a private deck complete with a set of chairs and a table, and you'll feel the warm sand under your feet. The ocean on this side of Nantucket is docile, great for swimming.||The staff is friendly and accommodating. We found our room to be spotless, comfortable and housekeeping meticulous. You won't be able to resist ordering room service and enjoying a dinner right at the beach, I only wish the menu had a few more options.||We live local, so Nantucket is just a short flight from our home base; this is the perfect quick getaway to a fantastic New England beach. We're hoping to return next year.
