the facilities and most of the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the rating would be higher if not for one specific employee, Ellie, who was incredibly unfriendly and rude. he was handling our briefing and he talked to us in a condescending manner, even telling us that he didn’t want to be working there on a weekend. while i understand the annoyance and struggle that may come with working over the weekends, it wasn’t a reason to sort of take it out on us. throughout the briefing, he created many awkward moments where he went silent and just stared at someone (usually a child) who may have been talking. he also got us to gather around and told us to come close, and when me and my climbing buddy came closer, he rudely looked us up and down and shooed us away with his hand. once we were done with the briefing we were glad to be rid of such a rude guy. later on we wanted to buy chalk, and we saw he was the only staff manning the desk. i approached him kindly, trying not to irritate him. he was alright at first, but when i asked about the chalk he replied again in a very rude manner, stating also the wrong price for the chalk and chalk bag. he firstly said that i had to buy the chalk bag as well which i agreed to, and asked how much it was. he explained it in a confusing manner, saying that it was $20 each. when i asked each referring to what, he said the chalk and chalk bag. so i said $40 total?? and he sighed and explained irritatably that it was $20 for both. so i said ok, then he said, but you have to buy the chalk bag. is that not what we already discussed? he was explaining everything extremely confusingly and then getting annoyed when we were naturally confused? in the end the price wasn’t even $20, it was $25. but i just wanted to buy it and to leave his presence, so i just bought it. this is not a reflection of all the staff, most of the women staff were very helpful and kind, but this employee Ellie had the most unacceptable behaviour and ruined my experience there. hope no one has to experience this too
