Our stay with the Cloghaun was absolutely wonderful! My wife and I stayed there for our 20th wedding anniversary and the staff made everything very special. I called ahead for a few special requests to surprise my wife, and the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, location is perfect, situated right downtown on Market Street. We were able to walk our luggage from the ferry and it took like 5 minutes. Our room was very clean and comfy, and we were able to check in really early around 11:30 am. Very highly recommend.

Beautiful old B&B!! The house and our room were well decorated, clean, and welcoming. The staff was quite welcoming and always eager to do anything for us. It was great to take in historical photos around the house, but still would have appreciated more history on house use and build. The breakfasts were all very delicious and filling. I felt the only thing lacking a bit was connection with the hosts, but that is probably due to it being a bigger B&B with more visitors. That said, the hosts were welcoming and friendly! Location was absolutely fabulous!! And the beautiful gardens beckoned you to sit and absorb their joy and spirit!!

There are not enough words to share how much we LOVE the Cloghaun. We have been coming here annually for 26 years & Cloghaun is Home. We had missed a few year recently so this trip was. A special 9 days of celebrating our 25th at Cloghaun. Clover & Carlene are fabulous innkeepers & advocates for carrying on the families legacies & traditions & showing the highest quality of care for their guests. Breakfast is fabulous hot & fresh with a great variety of food each day. Tea time is always a delicious treat. They go out of their way to accommodate you and make you feel comfortable. The home is full of history and the porch and gardens are THE Best on the Island. Our Thomas room #1 with the Balcony is always perfect. We enjoy our time on the balcony, porch & gardens as much as walking & touring the Island. We highly recommend it for a wonderful relaxed time. Thank you for always sharing your home with us, our friends, our families and our kids. They love it too!!!

The staff and the location are this B&B’s most valuable attributes. It is a beautiful old home with lovely landscaping. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. As you would expect the bathroom is rather small and dated. While we had a balcony we were prohibited from using it due to the weather, which is no fault of the lodging. Breakfast was great the first morning of our visit and somewhat lacking the 2nd morning. I think all B&B owners and staff should spend at least one night in each room to develop a better understanding of the needs of their guests. For example, there should be two luggage stands in each room or else one of the guests must place their suitcase on the floor. There should be at least two chairs or else one person must stand or seek seating else where. There are other small things that could be done to improve the guest experience but I hope you understand my concerns. And I’m not picking on this location because I find these issues in the hundreds of other locations my wife and I have stayed in. I also realize that many locations are trying to demonstrate a period from the past from a historical perspective. And that works fine up to a point until it interferes with the practicality and comfort of the guests.

Cloghaun is a top notch bed and breakfast. We loved our stay here. Our room was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on our private balcony everyday and watching the horses go by. CLoghaun is convenient to everything and only a block away from the ferry terminal. Special thanks to Clover and Maureen. These ladies are the best and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best it can be. My husband had health issues and had to be transferred to the mainland to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. Clover went out of her way to text me and check that were ok. Fortunately, we were able to return and finish our vacation. I looked at many different places to stay while in Mackinac and honestly never saw anywhere better than Cloghaun. We would highly recommend this B&B. In fact I am already planning a girls trip for next summer, and we will definitely be staying at Cloghaun.

Everything about our 2 night stay at Gloghaun B & B exceeded our expectations! Our room and the shared spaces were impeccably clean, tidy and comfortable. The porch, the gardens and the location can't be beat. Our innkeepers Clover and Carleen were wonderful. They are friendly and knowledgeable about Mackinac Island. Oh and breakfast - delicious offerings with something to suit all tastes. Looking forward to our next stay at the Gloghaun!

I have stayed at this B&B all three times I have stayed on Mackinac Island. I would not stay anywhere else. I am a huge fan of large porches and it has a beautiful one with comfortable furniture. It is located in an intersection so pretty much everything passes by for you to watch when you’re relaxing on the porch. The staff is wonderful and it feels like home.|It is furnished with Antiques and is so beautiful.

From the moment I arrived at Cloghaun, I felt at home. The house radiates a comforting warmth, and the spirit of hospitality is present in every detail. The location can’t be beat; Market Street is where you want to be. Each morning began with a wonderful breakfast, lovingly prepared and served by Clover and Carlene. Their attention to detail and the delicious offerings truly set the tone for each day. My room (#9) was impeccably clean. The décor strikes the perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort—and the bed was so comfortable. It’s clear that great care has been taken to update the property while preserving its incredible 141-year-old charm. It’s the perfect blend of modern conveniences and historical charm. Afternoons on the front porch were a highlight for me. The inviting ambiance made it the perfect spot to relax, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy the gentle sounds unique to Mackinac Island with horse drawn carriages. Cloghaun’s legacy is truly special, now in the capable hands of Sue, Andy, and Patrick—the fifth generation of owners and operators. Their dedication and love of Cloghaun continue the tradition established by their ancestors. I have no doubt that Jim, their dad would be so proud of the way they’re caring for and managing this beloved home, ensuring guests feel the love and history that fill its walls. If you’re searching for a bed and breakfast that honors its roots, delivers comfort, and welcomes you like family, Cloghaun is the place. My heartfelt thanks to everyone—especially Clover and Carlene—for making my stay so memorable.

Yelp
It was a wonderful coincidence when my BFF and I shared with each other the idea of celebrating our birthdays in Mackinac Island. I've been to Mackinac twice before, the most recent July 2023. I felt familiar and comfortable making our arrangements. I'm so glad I chose Cloghaun B&B. The location put us conveniently close to the places we wanted to experience (Grand Hotel, Jack's Livery, the Fort, restaurants, etc). We had a lovely room (Anna). Each morning the breakfast was delicious and interesting. Thank you to Clover and Carlene (spelling?) for being gracious and welcoming. If I'm lucky enough to return, I would stay no where else.

Yelp
Beware!!!! I had to file a fraud report on this B&B because they charged my card 3 times and I did not stay here! Im shocked that they would charge my card 1 month after. Thieves!!!

Yelp
Beautiful and friendly atmosphere! The house is right up the street from downtown and the ferry. The staff was friendly and the property was clean. The front has a decent sized deck surrounded by beautiful flowers, with chairs to relax both on the lawn and the deck. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it when staying on Mackinac island!

Yelp
Very unprofessional and rude. Did not help with our reservations. Made the overall experience unwelcoming. If you plan to reserve with your family, I would strongly advise to look elsewhere.

Yelp
Just stayed two nights at this lovely B&B! We felt very welcome throughout our stay. The inn keeper made sure our stay was comfortable and gave us a tour upon arrival. We stayed in one of the two rooms that doesn't have a private bath and you share a bathroom down the hall. It was a little awkward for us so we probably would choose a room with a private bath next time or stay somewhere where we could have a private bath. When I booked the reservation this was the only room they had available so we tried it! They offer morning coffee starting at 7:30am and breakfast at 8 am. They also offer afternoon tea from 3-5 pm. One day they served local fudge it was so good! The porch is so great to sit on in the morning or evening!!! Also, it is in a great location near the ferry docks and shops! The innkeeper also made our taxi reservations for us which was so helpful. Overall, a very lovely stay!

Yelp
Cloghaun offers a Historic and relaxing stay. The location on Market st is fantastic. While sitting in the porch you get to see the traffic flow. The rooms are so unique- and filled with gorgeous antiques. Breakfast was homemade every morning and truthfully- I'm ruined now because my homemade ones are not as good . I love how you feel at home with snacks and drinks always available. Suzy was so great from when you check in till when you leave. Highly recommend staying here for the charm is an added bonus to Mackinac.

Yelp
Wow, what more can I say. Our stay was wonderful, and words cannot do it justice. We honeymooned here 10/22-10/23, and we wish we could have stayed longer. Our trip was spectacular, and the shining highlight was the Cloghaun! We stayed in room 10, which had a large, beautiful, antique tub and bed along with period art and furniture. The mattress was comfortable, pillows plush, towels were overstocked in abundance, and our room was immaculately clean. We were tickled pink by the glycerin soap provided which smelled like gardenias (to me, very light floral) and the lovely quilt on our bed. The staff was exceptional. We had many wonderful conversations and felt at home. Being that it was the off season, we were one of the few couples there, and we were treated like VIP guests. They had great recommendations for food, and were always happy to help with a smile. We also booked a "special deal" where due to us staying on non-peak times in the off season we received an excellent rate. This included a hot breakfast with delicious strata and coffee cake, and a tea time with their 7 layer bars and a selection of teas that you could have in their lovely china. Those 7 layer bars. Oh my goodness. My husband and I could have eaten them out of house and home! I could not recommend this place more to anyone. We will definitely stay again!

Yelp
This was a wonderful place to stay on Mackinac Island. The staff was warm and welcoming. We stayed in room #4 because it has 2 full size beds which were very comfortable and a private bathroom with walk in shower. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and afternoon tea beverages and snacks. The front porch chairs were very relaxing. The location was perfect, only a block from the ferry docks and we could walk to restaurants and the Grand Hotel. I highly recommend this B&B!

Yelp
We can not praise this establishment enough! Super clean, exceptionally friendly/personable staff, beautifully built/decorated, and the location could not be beat. It is just off the main stretch, but still within a two minute walk from the ferry docks. Unbelievable and unbeatable. We stayed on a Thursday evening in the off season (early October) and the price could not be beat. We paid less for this B&B than we did for a dive motel in Sault Ste Marie the next evening. We had a "shared bathroom" but that meant only shared with one other room. Turned out that room wasn't even booked so we had it to ourselves. We will be back for sure. We're still shocked at how excellent Cloghaun B&B is.

Yelp
Beautiful little bed and breakfast in a great location. Recommend a room with a balcony where you can sit, relax, and listen to horses and bikes go by.

Yelp
A great little place just one block up from all the restaurants, bars, and shops on Main Street. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The property was beautiful and has a great front balcony overlooking the street filled with horse drawn carriages. The afternoon snacks and breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to go around, even for my picky 4 year old niece.

Yelp
Awesome place. Best b&b on the island. Service was great, very cozy and clean. I plan on staying here every time I come to the island.
