We, a family of three stayed here for 2 nights in April 2015. Although a bit out of Volterra itself, the walk into town is not too long (about 15 minutes). The rooms are clean and comfortable with separate bathroom/toilet with hot showers. There is lots of space and it is lovely and peaceful. The breakfast is above average for an Italian hotel and the setting , in the monastery's refectory, complete with renaissance frescoes was lovely. For the price I think it is extremely good value. As a suggestion there are a couple of things which would make the tourist experience exceptional - 1. maybe put more suitable chairs/tables in the cloister , which is a beautiful place to sit, but it would be lovely with more plants, decorative touches. Oh and the music in the breakfast room could be something 14th/15th century to match those marvelous frescoes!
