A hidden jem!!! Although the Hotel is not in the Old City Center (10 minutes by foot till scales to go up into Volterra) its a definitely great place to stay! Huge and stylish rooms with very comfortable beds, kettle & fridge provided as well. Spacious bathroom, everything is modern and clean. Cosy interior patio were you can seat to relax or your kids could run & play. Great restaurant with traditional Italian dishes for dinner and really perfect breakfast if you compare it with another Italian hotels. Rates for a la carte menu are ok. Wish to return there on our next trip in Tuscany. Highly recommended this marvelous place!

The hotel is very serene & quiet. The staff is friendly & always helpful The rooms are basic, clean, large & comfortable. Our bathroom was huge, and had a great overhead heater. I loved the outside areas, beautiful courtyards. Unfortunately the evenings were a bit cool to enjoy them fully. There is about a 20 minute walk to the center of Volterra. It's flat until you get to the city walls! We enjoyed diner both nights at the restaurant. The food was delicious & reasonably priced. I hope to return to Volterra & would love to stay at this hotel again.

I was excited that it was an old Monastery but I was a bit disappointed. The housekeeping staff worked hard but the courtyard was messy with minimal attention paid to the landscaping and outdoor seating. The restaurant was not great. Breakfast was exactly the same every morning.

This is a super cool hotel inside a former convent. It’s a slight walk to central Volterra (15-20 minutes). The rooms are nice and clean and modern but you can still feel the former monastic aesthetic. They have a good breakfast buffet that you eat in the former cloister. Super cool!

We, a family of three stayed here for 2 nights in April 2015. Although a bit out of Volterra itself, the walk into town is not too long (about 15 minutes). The rooms are clean and comfortable with separate bathroom/toilet with hot showers. There is lots of space and it is lovely and peaceful. The breakfast is above average for an Italian hotel and the setting , in the monastery's refectory, complete with renaissance frescoes was lovely. For the price I think it is extremely good value. As a suggestion there are a couple of things which would make the tourist experience exceptional - 1. maybe put more suitable chairs/tables in the cloister , which is a beautiful place to sit, but it would be lovely with more plants, decorative touches. Oh and the music in the breakfast room could be something 14th/15th century to match those marvelous frescoes!

Positives:|The room was big enough, quiete place and good quality furniture. Breakfast was the best in the entire Europe. In all other place it was very very stingy as if we are begger. In all the breakfast in Europe is very boring except for this hotel. I have already recommended this hotel for our big group arriving in July 2011.|Negatives:|The price was bit more than expected.
