Cloisters of The Company

Most beautiful architecture… the place is just simple stunning. The church is just breath taken full of arts snd sculptures…. Is free to enter your the yard and the church but you can pay for a tour if you wish. I advise to come here and spend time admiring the architecture. If you are religious this is the place.

This beautiful and historical yard is free to visit from the streets. You will also find restaurants and coffee shops in the yard. It is not a huge area, you can walk through it end to end within about five minutes. It will also help if you get some guides to explain when and how it was built, then visit the church near by.

The Cloisters of the Company are part of the larger La Compañía Church complex, which was built by the Jesuits in the 17th century. This Baroque-style church and its cloisters are located in the heart of Arequipa, near the Plaza de Armas, making it a central and accessible historical site. The Cloisters feature classic Baroque architectural elements, including intricate stone carvings and ornate facades. The use of sillar, a white volcanic stone typical of Arequipa, gives the structures a distinctive and elegant appearance.

A must see in Arequipa. Beautiful place and some of the better shoos with Alpaca clothes. It was build as part of the church but is now a place with small shops, restaurants and cafes. Also a stop for many to have a picture in front of the fountain.

The Compañía de Jesús was constructed in 1573 and reconstructed each time after Arequipa's many earthquakes. It is a complex of the historic church of the same name, shops, and restaurants amid ornate plazas and buidings carved from sillar, or compacted volcanic ash. The businesses here are somewhat more upscale than the typical souvenir shops and sell original art, clothing made from alpaca and vicuña, and Arequipa's famous Anis Najar.

Beautiful place to walk through with all the old architecture. There are a few restaurants and stores but mostly the space is empty. It's privately owned and there is a sign at one entrance not to take pictures but no one enforces that.

It takes about five to ten minutes to walk around, the entrance is voluntary. The details of the columns are beautiful. Try to spot the references of Inca culture mixed with the Spanish culture carved in volcanic stone.

Beautiful if you're into architecture, even though there isn't much to see here. There's a bottle'o there, restaurants and coffee shops.
