We spent 3 nights recently and it was above and beyond our expectations mostly due to our hosts. Patrick and Marisa were amazing- the communication prior to arrival, the “Happy Anniversary “ greeting in our room, reservations made at their favorite places- it was all more than we ever imagined. The quality of the little things, the linens and towels was all first rate. We enjoyed talking to them and feeling like we were truly guests in their home. We ended our stay with a brief wine tasting with Patrick and some of what he is producing on the premises and it was really fun to see his passion for the process. We would go back in an instant.

Lovely, elegant a dream!||I’m just now getting around to writing this review, but I have to say—I had the most amazing experience staying with Marisa and Patrick at Clos de la Barbanne.||I spent months searching for the perfect wine country getaway. As a true red wine lover, I wanted something intimate, clean, and special. I scoured Provence, Beaune, and beyond… and then I found you! What a gem.||Thank you for such a thoughtful, beautiful experience. From the elegant breakfasts to the fresh fruit and the breakfast-to-go—every detail was perfect. Your kindness, your availability to help with dinner reservations and itinerary suggestions, and even the warm doggie greetings made it all so memorable.||The luxurious linens, the peaceful sunsets… it was a dream come true.||Highly recommend for your next stay in wine country!

We stayed here for two nights, and had a lovely time. Marisa and Patrick are fantastic hosts, and the setting is beautiful. Large, comfortable rooms, with generous bathrooms. Patrick gave the best explanation of the natural wine making process I have ever had. Strongly recommend!

Exceptional. If luxury comfort and immaculate cleanliness are important to you then take a serious look at Clos de la Barbanne. As a friend said ‘you had me at Matouk”; linens, bath towels, robes. You run the risk of doing less because you sleep in. Beautifully furnished in generously sized rooms and large bathroom where it is clean from tile to shower head. Seriously this is top shelf luxury stay structure. Morning breakfast can be had in one of four locations amongst the chirping birds and rising sun over the surrounding vineyards with local breads, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, caffeine made to order. Location is perfectly situated to explore the right bank. Great restaurants and tastings in the area. We stayed 5 nights.

AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! We spent a weekend in May with our family and couldn’t have had a better time. This is a charming château with its own winery and just four rooms, set among the vineyards only 45 minutes from Bordeaux. The entire team was absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were super comfortable and tastefully decorated. There’s a real attention to detail throughout, and they were always happy to help us with recommendations for routes, restaurants, and local activities. You can also book a private wine tasting on the property with the wines they produce, which made the stay even more special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect weekend getaway near Saint-Émilion and the full winery experience.

We spent 4 days/three nights in St Emilion at Clos de la Barbanne. We were originally planning on a luxury hotel but heard about this by word of mouth -> WOW - So glad we stayed here instead! This place is a gorgeous B&B in a perfect location just outside of St Emilion. The new owners (Patrick and Marissa) have lovingly remodeled an existing B&B into a spacious and beautifully decorated place akin to a luxury Relais & Châteaux property. Tasteful colors, high quality sheets and towels, fantastic furniture, accessories, lightning, and modern bathrooms. The rooms are HUGE, comfortable, and quiet. They served a great breakfast each day including fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and baguette, croissant, and pain au chocolate sourced from a local patisserie. Patrick arranged for e-bikes which we used to tour the area and also took care of making dinner reservations ( Les Belles Perdrix was amazing) and lining up several winery tours. He gave us a tour of his own winery and we even bought a case of wine after tasting his 2021 (which he shipped back to the US for us). They are so hospitable and helpful it is almost embarrassing – making sure we have everything we need, every detail attended to. There is easy parking and even EV charging. This is really just the best location, best value, and best choice we could have made. My highest recommendations. I am trying to organize a return to this property with my grown kids.

Rooms were stylish, quiet, spacious and impeccably clean. Location excellent for seeing St Emilion and environs. We had lovely breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the vineyard with a wonderful choice of fruits, yogurt and hot beverages. Patrick and Marissa went above and beyond to help us arrange for electric bikes, tastings in St Emilion and restaurant reservations. They had excellent recommendations that helped us refine our itinerary to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed cycling in the rolling hills covered with vineyards and forests around Clos de la Barbanne.

WOW! A perfect blend of rustic charm and luxurious comfort. The highlight of my stay was the exceptionally comfortable bed, the breakfast and the on site wine! My huge room combined vintage charm with modern amenities, including a spacious en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and premium toiletries. Every detail was designed for maximum comfort and relaxation whilst viewing the most picturesque French countryside. The hosts Marisa & Patrick are so warm and welcoming. The airline lost my bag for 4 days and they did everything they could to help me. The daily breakfast featured fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, with homemade granola, pastries and gourmet coffee being particular highlights. Patrick also demonstrated his wine process and was generous with the sampling. An intimate, educational and fun time with fabulous wine. The beautifully landscaped gardens and picturesque views provided a serene backdrop for relaxation. It was truly rejuvenating and I can't wait to return with family and friends.
