WINE COUNTRY CITY GUIDE

"Relax in our vineyard-encircled Hirondelle House and kick back with some of Napa Valley's most storied wines. Founded in 1972, Clos du Val's distinctive, Bordeaux-inspired Cabernet Sauvignon helped put Napa Valley on the global wine map. 50 years later, we're still crafting fresh, elegant, and expressive wines made in a decidedly French-Californian style from our family-owned estate."

The Judgment of Paris Wine Contest Is Being Recreated in Napa - AFAR

"A historic Napa Valley winery that was one of the original competitors in the seminal 1976 Judgment of Paris; it was selected as the venue for the modern reinterpretation (the Judgment of Napa) scheduled for May 15–16, 2020, and will host a blind tasting that reunites key figures from the original event, including Steven Spurrier and George Taber." - Sara Button

This was the first winery we visited when we arrived in Napa. We chose this winery because you can order a bottle of wine and drink it on site without having to do their tasting. The gentleman that greeted us was really friendly and kind and made our visit and stay enjoyable. We took our wine out to their garden area which was very pretty. We chose the Rose as it was very hot outside and it was a nice dry wine, very good. We did not feel rushed or treated any different because we weren’t doing a tasting. This winery was fantastic, would visit again.

This place was so cute! we loved our sommelier, she was so knowledgeable and personable. the PESTO was incredible. we were able to leave with some of the walnuts they use and the recipe! we tried 1 white, 4 red and 1 rosé. area was modern, quiet, beautiful flowers and delicious wine.

Always a Fantastic Experience at Clos du Val! My three friends and I had such a wonderful time at the Hirondelle House tasting! A big thank you to Justin for accommodating us — we always feel so welcomed here. The staff truly makes it feel like coming home, with familiar faces like Lupita, Fabian, and Sarah who greet us like family. A huge shoutout to Aaron, who made our experience truly exceptional. His warmth, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the wines elevated the entire tasting. He took the time to guide us through each pour with insight and passion, and we genuinely appreciated his thoughtful attention. The wines he selected were absolutely stunning — each sip better than the last! Aaron’s hospitality made a rainy day feel bright and memorable. We all had a great time, bought some fabulous wines, and left with full hearts and happy palates. Rain or shine, Clos du Val never disappoints — thanks especially to amazing people like Aaron! 🍷

We visited for a tasting and it was a lovely place where we could enjoy wine while overlooking the vineyard. Glenn guided our tasting, and thanks to his wonderful explanations, we had an amazing time. Every wine we tried was delicious, and I truly think this is a place worth visiting. Thank you!

Google
A stunningly kept grounds with a butterfly garden path, a wildflower garden, and tranquil water features are some of the lovely amenities this winery offers. Cynthia was such a lovely guide. There when you needed her, but let us enjoy at our pace. They’re known for their reds, but the cab franc rose stole the show! I cannot wait to return ¨̮

Google
Great tasting experience! We had a group of 4 and we did the retrospective decade tasting. The wine was all delicious and it was fun to compare wines side by side by their production dates… most importantly, our host Aaron really made the experience, making the whole tasting super knowledgeable, humorous, and interesting. Would definitely visit again!!

Google
My family gifted us a tasting for our honeymoon and when they were coordinating with Clos du Val, they gave us an amazing upgrade with the private cabana near the vineyards and the barrel tasting. They made us feel so special from the moment we stepped in. A huge thank you to Glen and Clos du Val for an amazing afternoon.

Google
Such a wonderful experience at Clos du Val. Their rich history was explained wonderfully by our knowledgeable Som who answered question after question regarding history, wine making and how Clos du Val is miles above the rest. The tasting room was so beautifully decorated and had it been nice enough to sit outside would have further enhanced the experience even more. The finishing touch was the whipped ricotta spread that paired perfectly with each vintage.

Yelp
Had stopped by a few weeks ago with some friends at Clos du val's tap room. Honestly - I've been pretty disappointed by a lot of Napa wineries that felt way too commercialized & not having good service, so I was super pleasantly surprised to see how accommodating they were from the start. The building/area/grounds looked great & wasn't super crowded - easy parking for our 2 cars. However - the biggest and probably the only reason I'll ever head back for a booked tasting was the friendliness , hospitality, and service of the staff. To be even more specific - I want to shoutout Cynthia for being the biggest reason why I plan to return to this winery again with my group of friends. She was not only an incredibly friendly & hospitable host, but she taught us all about the different wines & had some incredible recommendations. We also met Ani who was also great as well! We learned a lot about the wine, some of the programs the winery does every year for members (an upcoming Festival on the winery grounds), and because of Cynthia - had tried some of the best wines I've had yet in Napa on tap (def try the Cab!). They have an exceptional outdoor seating layout that gives a great view of the vineyard but we spent most of our time in the tap room as it was super hot that day. All in all - was an incredibly peaceful, serene, and great experience. Cannot wait to return with other friends & close family, thanks to the exceptional experiences with the wine, environment, and staff in their tap room.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience at this winery and I strongly recommend it. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were exquisite. We had the pleasure to be served in French by Sarah who can also speak 3 other languages. She provided us very detailed information about each wine that we tasted and was a superb hostess. Would go back any time...

Yelp
Five shining stars for this winery in Napa! Recently opened my bottle of wine from Clos du Val & it brought me back to my day in Napa with one of the best experiences at this winery. This was one out of two stops we had and it blew us out of the water. From the service with an exception tasting by Favian to the grounds to the wine, everything was five stars. The place itself is beautiful and not terribly huge to walk around but quality over quantity, in terms of size, was what I had in mind for this spot. It was the perfect day with perfect weather and ordering wines to ship home was a breeze. I would definitely come back if I ever visit Napa again and now always keep an eye out for Clos du Val wines when I go wine shopping!

Yelp
Amazing experience at this winery! This was our first stop in Napa and this place did not disappoint. Aaron was our sommelier and he was very knowledgeable and informative. He kept our glasses full while also educating us on the history of Clos du Val, and giving us a tour of the inside of the winery. The wine, needless to say, was delicious! And the views were gorgeous. Would highly recommend stopping here during your Napa trip.

Yelp
Lupita was our wine expert and she was amazing! My favorite of all their wines was the Cab Franc and I highly recommend really taking your time with that wine, it was so good we ended up taking a bottle home! The grounds were beautiful, service was lovely, and wine was good. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Napa or planning a trip.

Yelp
I cannot begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our tasting at Clos du Val. We were attending a wedding and only had a bit of free time. The groom, who's a member, made last-minute arrangements for us to have the Hirondelle House tasting as soon as they opened at 10 a.m. Favian was in a meeting, so Aaron hosted us. He was wonderful! He barely finished telling us about the history of CDV before we started peppering him with questions. We learned so much more than just the terrior; everything from cork to the Brix scale to... well, I can't even remember it all less than a week later. This is, however, a winery, and the five we tasted were wonderful. I loved the cabernet franc, and their '21 Yettalil which had just been named Best in Show at the 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards the previous day. Suffice to say we all became Cercle du Vin members. And, yes, we were able to visit with Favian. He's as gracious and fun as others have said. Despite getting their start in the early 70s and even participating in the 1976 Judgement of Paris, the venue is modern, yet very comfortable. I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Clos du Val was truly such a highlight on our recent girls trip to Napa! The short version,: A+++, the service, estate, wine and overall experience was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. The detailed version: From the moment we arrived, we had our own private table with a customized menu welcoming our party, and a line up, including tasting notes of the wines we would be trying. It's honestly all about the little details and they nailed it. I am so mad at myself, but I cannot recall our wine guru's name (I WILL remember and update accordingly), but he was the absolute best. He was a local gentlemen, who knew his stuff well and really made our overall experience so special. He paced our tasting perfectly, made the tasting relatable and even offered to be our photographer! The estate was gorgeous, the mixed and natural textures really complimented all the greenery and honestly it was such a vibe. They had this super cool photo op wall with a couch and it was just a beautiful place to enjoy some wine. Leading me to....the wine! I truly enjoyed all the wine I had. I am not a frequent wine drinker, I enjoy it, though I made not know all the details I can appreciate it. What I really enjoyed was learning more about their wines and having a lovely and diverse line up of various types. They bring out some lovely snacks to nosh on well tasting. We enjoyed a lovely whipped feta dip with crackers and fresh veggies. Our whole party ordered some wine to ship home and I look forward to opening that bottle!

Yelp
Look no further than Clos du Val for a quintessential Napa experience. I want to start by saying that the staff was beyond friendly. I called in advance to ask about their by the glass and walk in policy and was helped by the friendliest staff. This is also one of the few places in Napa that I've seen that let's you do wine by the glass/bottle. We came on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed their newest rose (which was perfectly refreshing for a warm day). We were seated right away and were able to chose between indoor or outdoor seating. We chose one of their cozy outdoor couches with a few of the vineyard. We were also able to walk around the vineyard and the property in general. Highly highly recommend making a stop here on your next trip to Napa!

Yelp
Amazing service from Aaron! He was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and so much fun!!! Our group had a lot of questions and he answered all of them! He was very approachable and didn't make us feel ridiculous even with our basic questions! He could teach but he chooses to be here! Lucky us!

Yelp
Favorite winery experience in Napa on my trip!! First of all, Favian is amazing and I would ask for him next time if we come back, hands down. He was knowledgable, friendly, engaging, charismatic, and he listened to us and modified the tasting based on what he heard. He is incredible and my whole group is Favian fans!!! This tasting was exactly what I envisioned for a Napa wine tasting. It was just our group at a nice table outside overlooking the vineyard. We started with a rose which I loved enough to ship one home. We tried like 5 different wines, including a super old one which was cool. I'm not a huge alcohol drinker, but I really appreciated Favian's explanations of the wines and comparing them to one another. We took a ton of photos on the property, and spent about 2.5 hours there. Would 100% recommend Clos du Val to anyone visiting Napa.

Yelp
Great wines, our server was amazing and recommended delicious wines based on our preferences. The outdoor seating area was great overlooking the landscape and the building is super modern and inviting. Would recommend and return in the future.

Yelp
My wife and I had an opportunity to do a tasting at Clos du Val on a quiet November Wednesday afternoon. Since it was raining lightly, the tasting was indoors. The ambience of the winery is very nice, you're amongst the vineyards in this modern building. Our tasting consisted of 5 wines, one Sauvignon Blanc and four reds. The wines were all good, but we agreed that the Cabernet Franc was our favorite. We also had a delicious cheese platter with the tasting. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about their wine, including that it's a favorite in Asia since President Clinton served it to the President of South Korea. Great info! Definitely recommend Clos du Val!

Christina D.

Yelp
Our tasting experience at Clos du Val was amazing! It was our first time in Napa and definitely will not be our last (in either Napa, or Clos du Val). The vineyard came recommended from a winemaker in the industry and then Sarah made sure our experience exceeded expectations. She was so sweet, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, and the place itself was of course beautiful - Quintessential Napa, quintessential views, and delicious wine. 10/10!

Brienne B.

Yelp
I've hosted two private events here and both times the service, wine, and food were incredible. The staff has been incredibly responsive and accommodating. I'd highly recommend hosting private events here.

Yelp
This review is way overdue. I've enjoyed Clos du Val's wine for close to 20 years now. CDV is my favorite winery and creates, by far, the best wines. Their Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose of Cab Franc and of course, YETALIL are AMAZING! The winery is beautiful. Hirondelle House is a great room to taste all that CDV has to offer. And you won't be disappointed by the staff who will take care of you like you are family. Nikko, Cynthia, Ani, Fabian, Aaron, Audrey and Dariana have all made every visit to Clos Du Val special and enjoyable. Treat yourself to a great experience and stop by CDV. You'll be glad you did!

Yelp
Our last winery stop on our week-long stay in Napa was one of our favorites. Our experience at Clos Du Val was memorable not only for the excellent reds we enjoyed overlooking the grounds but because our guide, Melissa, made our time there special. Located on the south end of the Silverado Trail in Napa Valley, Clos Du Val was a winery on our list to visit due to its history connected to the Judgement of Paris in 1976 and their great wines (naturally). The tasting room has a modern design with a dark wooden interior and open-floor layout. The wide-glass paneled sliding doors open to the outdoor patio area that holds a fountain directly in front with the vineyards in the backdrop. There are further outdoor seating areas to the left and white with paths to walk past the rows of vines growing grapes. There's a cool sofa perched against one of the vine-covered buildings with a large double door that's great for taking pictures and selfies. Our flight tasting comprised the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Hirondelle Vineyard Estate | Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2019 Yettalil | Stag's Leap District Bordeaux Blend. Everything poured for the flights was exquisite, especially the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, my favorite. Additionally, we enjoyed a nice dip on which nosh while we sipped our wines. Melissa was our wine host and ensured we had a wonderful experience during our stay at Clos Du Val. She was personable and accommodating in her service and had great knowledge of the wines and history of the winery. She even brought out a bottle of the 2015 Hirondelle Vineyard Estate | Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon to compare the 2018 vintage originally on the flight list. Her engagement with us was part of why I decided to join the Cercel du Vin, even though I had already joined two other wineries that week. The wines that we enjoyed on-site I knew I wasn't going to find locally in South Florida, and the experience I had sealed my wanting to continue enjoying Clos Du Val in the future.

Yelp
Beautiful winery! Even the drive in was gorgeous. Came here with some friends and the modern structure of the building was nicely built. It even opens up to a beautiful view. Fortunately, that day was warm and it had a nice breeze. We got the tasting that came with light snacks which was great! Service was attentive. They were patient with us and we all had an amazing time there.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful winery, excellent wine, & dog friendly! Favian was our somm both visits and we had an 11/10 experience both times.

Yelp
Great time at the wine room. Our server Cynthia was very knowledgeable and service was exceptional. Highly recommended stopping in for a visit.

Yelp
The vibes of the this winery are south of France all the way. We only did the tasting by the glass but what a beautiful place to hang out with friends and have wine. The fields are filled with flowers, grasses and olive trees and The vines are right in front of you . I'd highly recommend for a chill afternoon of wine drinking.

Yelp
I recently organized a company work trip for a group of around 40 people at Clos Du Val, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Nikko, who I had the pleasure of coordinating with, was outstanding throughout the entire process. He was always responsive to my questions leading up to the event, ensuring that everything was perfectly planned. During our visit, Nikko went above and beyond to make sure our group had an exceptional time. From capturing great photos of our team to keeping our tasting glasses full, he handled everything with professionalism and a smile, even as we got a bit loud. The entire group had a blast! The winery itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds and exceptional wine. I highly recommend a visit to Clos Du Val and working with Nikko if you're planning a large group event.

Yelp
You can not ask for a better experience than one you'll get at Clos du Val. The winery is beautiful and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. We did the $100 tasting in which we tried wines from the different decades; 83, 93, 03 and 13. It was so neat to taste the differences. I learned that older is not necessarily better as most believe. I was a bit rushed for time as this was an impromptu visit and had other reservations but would love to come back and take my time here.
google avatar

Nisha S.

Yelp
This winery is very relaxed, the scenery of the vineyard and the valleys are phenomenal. As soon as you walk in, someone welcomes you with a big smile, we did a tasting and the wine ones were amazing. We ended up with the wine in the photo. If you're in the area, check this winery out. Also the bathrooms are very clean and I love the small decorations they had around.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best wine tasting experience we've had in a long time. We opted for an elevated experience with a tasting of four decades of their wines starting with a 1984 Cab. Aaron was our guide through this excellent tasting. He was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and attentive to our likes and interests. The location is beautiful and the tasting room is pristine. Of course, the wines were fantastic. If you're concerned by the cost of Napa tastings now-a-days and wonder if it's worth it, we'll say 100% yes to Clos du Val!
google avatar

F L Z.

Yelp
Had an incredible visit to Clos Du Vol! Our host sommelier Aaron was phenomenal, his wine expertise is unparalleled. The team also provided exceptional service, making us feel welcome and well-cared for. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Since my first review, I have had the opportunity to sample, enjoy and appreciate what this winery has to offer ... to a much greater extent. It is now one of my favorite destinations in Napa. In fact, I have joined the wine club and will be opening a 2016 bottle of the Estate Three Graces tonight. If you truly appreciate big reds, also try the Yettalil and the Cabernet Franc (Hirondelle). The tastings at the winery are marvelous. You get personalized, knowledgeable service. The grounds are beautiful.

Yelp
Visited today with a group of 6. The place was quite quiet with few people there. The tasting room through wood doors to the right upon entrance is pretty but was uncomfortably cold. The tasting room through the glass doors was gorgeous and also quite quiet. The wine is mediocre and we were very disappointed in ours treatment by the staff. We asked to be seated at two high top tables where there was no noted reservation and they would not. So we sat at the bar in the tasting room and they ushered us away so that people could order... when there was NO ONE there. So they basically asked us to stand by the open door on a 48 degree day. I assume all of this was because we purchased a bottle instead of a $75 per person tasting (again, for mediocre wine). Very discourteous and disappointing customer service.
google avatar

Jill L.

Yelp
Clos du Val has everything you could ask for in a winery - Beautiful views of rolling hillsides, a lovely and luxuriously-appointed interior, enormous cellars where the wines are housed, wonderful and attentive service and of course, delicious wine!!! My group and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, getting a private tour of the estate and grounds and so many interesting facts about the winery itself and the art of winemaking (such as vine training methods used). There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Each of the pours were magnificent. I loved how in-depth the explanations were for each wine we tried. And we tried a lot LOL. The Stags Leap district produces incredible wine. The reds were the cream of the crop! The 2016 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Hirondelle Vineyard was outstanding. I can't wait to return!
google avatar

Amy V.

Yelp
Beautiful modern interior and patio area (since it was recently renovated in 2018?) and it gives total inspiration for how I'd want my vacation home to look like! What would've topped it off was if the grapes were in season and there'd be so much more color to the vineyard as opposed to just the posts. Favian was our sommelier and he was helpful in explaining the flavor palettes from our selection of wines in our tasting. In addition to the flavor palettes and how the flavors are gathered, I would've wanted to know more about the food pairings that would go well with the wine we tried though, for a n00bie wine enthusiast like me! Nonetheless, this was a great intro for our first time but definitely not our last!

Yelp
The space is beautiful. The location and outdoor seating area do not make for the most spectacular views, but our wine educator, Victor, did make for an excellent host and great company. Having moved to Napa in 1975 (one year before the Judgement of Paris), he is a wealth of knowledge about the region and of course the wines. He spent a great deal of time going into detail about each of the wines we tasted ($75/person). They waive the tasting fee if you spend a certain amount (I believe the equivalent of your tasting fee). In typical fashion, I went overkill and left with several bottles, resulting in both tasting fees being waived. The website says to plan for at least a 60 minute tasting experience. We were here for nearly two hours. No food at all on premises. Plan your snacks accordingly. This is a good first stop if you're entering Napa from the south. It's one of about a dozen vineyards heading north on the Silverado Trail.

Hiral P.

Yelp
One of the few places that does wine by the glass in Napa and it was great. Great views while sipping on our vino.
google avatar

Norman R.

Yelp
Service and Ambiance is unmatched out here. The staff took their time to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying each part of our experience. I'm new to wine tasting but felt comfortable while tasting wines and learning everything about it
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
One star knocked off for the space being a bit small and no tours. We did get a master sommelier to guide us through all the wines and answer any questions. I would have wished there was more whites in the tasting set instead of being all red. They moved us to more comfortable patio seats with sun umbrellas upon request . All the wines tasted amazing and it is one of the higher end wines. Cabernet grapes seems to grow well in this region.lots of nice wind with strong sunshine. The best part was when they offer to comp the tasting if we spend the same or more than the total of the tasting price of the group ( $300 for a group of 4) We ended up taking a lovely bottle of 2014 three graces and our friends took home a Pinot noir and their limited release Chardonnay!
google avatar

Khuong N.

Yelp
A beautiful estate with some wonderful wine. Maria was our sommelier and she was nice and informative. The 2018 estate cab and the Yettalil was our favorite from the tasting. Will be coming back to clos du Val in the future. Was great to learn the history of the winery and also the winemaker.

Yelp
This place is GORGEOUS! This was our last stop on a day of tasting in Napa and we caught it just before sunset. I loved the scenery from our outdoor seating area; we had a great view of the vineyard and were able to take some photos in the vines too! The wooden double doors (pictured) kept stealing my attention - they were also a beautiful backdrop for a group photo! The wine was delicious; we stuck to reds and split some bottles out on the patio. The service was great - allowing us to enjoy our time together as friends but helpful as needed. I would love to come back here and sit inside this time - would be better to do with a smaller group than what we had. Can't wait to spend more time here next time I'm in Napa!

Monina G.

Yelp
They have the prettiest tasting room, and it's very modern for a tasting room experience. However, their seating needs work. You order as soon as you enter and are asked to give your credit card details, but no one guides you to a seat, and the staff will make you guess which seats are okay to sit at and tell you they won't serve you until you're seated in the right area. We waited thirty minutes for two glasses of wine and a vegetable dip dish. When we went to cancel our order because of the horrible service, they hadn't even started on anything.

Yelp
Amazing place. Clos du Val has everything you want from a wine tasting: 1) well known wine name with great tasting wine 2) unbelievable views and 3) a great wine host. While everyone thinks of Chateau Montelena or Stag's Leap Winery from the 1976 Judgement of Paris, Clos du Val was also one of the wines that did very well and finished in 8th. Its also in the Stags Leap AVA which is one of the most premier AVAs in Napa. We did their standard wine tasting and had BIG pours of cab Sauv's from different years and different AVA's in the valley to be able to taste the differences in each location and climate. The pours were extremely gracious and I wish all wineries poured this amount. A library pour is included in this tasting which allows you to also see differences in taste from aging. Niko was our wine tasting host and he was a 10/10. The BEST. He was knowledgable, passionate, great teacher and a lot of fun. The perfect combination anyone in Napa can ask for. I left the tasting knowing a lot more than I had known at the start. Overall, its a no brainer. Go here for a tasting and stop searching. The combo of being in Stags leap AVA + great tasting wines with big pours + amazing hosts makes this a perfect afternoon. Ask for Niko if you can and try to go in the afternoon so you can see the amazing sunset. I look forward to going back.

Yelp
We loved the vibe of this place. Modern building with an AMAZING patio and overall atmosphere. The service was great and we had a great experience during our tasting. We shared one taking (2 people) and it was the perfect amount of wine. The tasting included 5 different type of red wines + 1 white wine upon arrival. They also waived the tasting fee (which is pretty hefty, $75) with the purchase of at least 3 bottles of wine.

Yelp
My group of 10 absolutely loved our time and experience at Clos du Val. I made reservations ahead and had some limiting factors that Nico worked with me on and provided amazing service. The winery is impeccable, modern, inviting and the wine was off the charts. Stags Leap has got to be the best wine in the world. Nico and the rest of the staff were very accommodating, helpful and kind. Cannot wait to return!

Yelp
5/5 I chose Clos du Val for my birthday celebration with 10 of my close friends. We had 6 tasters and 4 non-tasters. They were very accommodating for a large party over the phone. I called about 25 wineries and they were like a miracle, the most accommodating and still affordable place I called. They were okay with party adjustments and didn't take payment until the day of. They cost of your tasting can also be placed into the amount it would cost for a bottle that is over the tasting fee which was awesome. Everyone bought a bottle for more bang for your buck. They also didn't make the non-tasters pay any money which was very kind. They seated us inside in a private room for just us 10 and with our tasting expert. Rob was very kind and made everyone well very welcome. They even put my name on the tasting menu as a personal touch for my birthday, truly awesome. We tasted about 6 wines for $50 per person, a great deal in Napa for a large party. They also let us go take pictures in their vineyard which was beautiful. I would 5/5 recommend Clos du Val for your Napa experience!

Yelp
I booked an event for a large group here for a corporate reception and dinner. This was one of the best events we have ever done, as an event planner I am thrilled! Our guest were raving about the entire experience. Nikko and Favian were the best to work with and such great hosts. We could not have asked for a better experience or a better venue. Incredible wines, stunning views, and a wonderful property. Definitely come here and host an event!!

Yelp
Beautiful views! Makes beautiful photos! Love the modern feel inside and the open large floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors. We weren't planning on visiting another winery but we ended up here. We were able to be seated inside as walk-ins without reservations which was nice. We ordered 2 bottles of wine to enjoy along with some complimentary breadsticks. Both were good. Not many staff and they looked really busy so it was much appreciated on their effort to check on us. Would be nice to go back with reservations for a proper wine tasting to get the full experience.

Yelp
CDV is one of my favorite wineries. As a lover of red wine, their Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are all full and smooth. As a club member, they are also very accommodating when it comes to getting a tasting reservation. The winery is beautiful and inviting, with lots of great backgrounds to snap that perfect pic!

Yelp
We recently came to Clos du Val. The property is stunning. The service was meh. But our biggest issue was the misleading advertisement for the wines by the glass experience we booked. Online it appears you can have a glass of wine at their property for $10pp. I booked this for my husband and I along with a crudité for $34. Upon arriving I was advised that this was just a "corking" fee and kind of like held our spot for their most popular experience. We still had to pay for a glass of wine. The $20 was not applied to the glasses of wine we purchased. This is not disclosed on their website and is very misleading. We ended up paying around $90 for 2 "glasses" of wine. I wouldn't recommend based on a lack of transparency and pretty much deception as far as I'm concerned. The staff we advised of our issue were not helpful and insisted it was just to hold our spot. They need to update their messaging for this experience so others aren't duped (see image).

Yelp
I have been collecting Clos du Val for many years and have tried a lot of 1970s and 80s. I've got to say these guys are making better wine than ever (stylistically they are more modern and a little richer than they were in the past and I do enjoy the old style as well as the new)... The regular Napa Cab @ $50 is about as good a wine you will find in the valley under $100 these days. Anyway, I popped in without an appointment to their tasting room in Stag's Leap District and was happily surprised with the new tasting room. (note: Their old tasting room which is now dedicated to events and such, was the first tasting room I ever visited when I was 22 years old and had not been back since) I was greeted by the host who set me up with their wine educator, Melissa D'Agostino. Melissa was fabulous. She was so pleasant and full of knowledge. I am also in the wine business and really enjoyed hearing her own personal take on the wines I was tasting. Regarding the wines: The Sauvignon Blanc is awesome! Very Bordeaux Blanc like (a touch of Semillon blended in).., The three reds I tried were all fantastic. The Napa Cab, as I mentioned before is a great value. It is plush and ripe with notes of cassis and blackberry, framed by mostly French (but also Hungarian and a tiny bit of American oak). The Cab Fran and the Estate Cab are both wonderful wines as well. Full throttle and should develop some nuance with time in a cold cellar. Great experience and highly recommended.

Yelp
Great wines overall, nice vineyard view is a plus. My friends and I enjoyed the wine tasting by Nikko. He is very kind and and welcoming. My favorite was cab franc.

Yelp
It's a beautiful relaxed winery . Great for a chill vibe with some friends. We preferred to just buy bottles and have a seat outside. The indoor was nice as well. A lot of greenery and sunlight. I would recommend this winery to everyone.

Yelp
Clos du Val has a beautiful new tasting room at it's winery in the Stag's Leap district. We chose the Hirrondelle House Tasting which focuses on current releases. Lupita was our server and she was very friendly and professional with a very good knowledge of the winery and vineyards. You're tasting fee is complimentary if spend at least as much on wine. A no brainer to buy a nice bottle.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience for us, on the occasion of a joint 60th. celebration.... Introduced to Francis by our niece, we were royally welcomed, guided through a delectable collection of wines by the knowledgeable Favian, and were privileged to have a tour of the facility hosted by the estate's wonderful winemaker, Carmel. An extraordinary location and an unforgettable experience...I cannot recommend this highly enough, and we will seek out Clos du Val wines for evermore! Thank you, Ann & Finn
