We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Clos Marcamps, a true hidden gem just outside Bordeaux. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed and looked after.||The staff are fantastic: Jean-Philippe, the owner, is welcoming and attentive. Lisa and Elsa, who run the breakfasts, were equally charming – warm, friendly, and always happy to help. They strike the perfect balance of being available without ever being intrusive.||And speaking of breakfast – what a treat. Every item is carefully chosen, with the focus on top-quality, locally sourced produce. It’s an experience in itself: fresh juices, artisan breads, local cheeses, yoghurts, jams and honey ... everything delicious.||The setting is peaceful and the fact that there are only six rooms makes the experience feel personal and exclusive. You’re never just another guest here – you’re looked after.||Our room was stylish, spacious, and spotless, with thoughtful touches throughout. The pool area was equally serene.||Clos Marcamps is the kind of place you hesitate to write about because you want to keep it a secret… but it deserves every bit of praise. We recommend it without hesitation.

We had business meeting in Bordeaux but did not want to stay in the city as had our miniature dachshund with us. The place was really comfortable and peaceful and tastefully renovated. Every little detail was though about and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend. Natasha and Tony

Clos Marcamps is a beautiful place which has been restored to a high standard. It's a little oasis of calm with a relaxing atmosphere. The grounds are a lovely sanctuary, with the swimming pool a great spot to relax in the recent very hot weather. The hosts can't do enough for you - very welcoming and gave lots of useful advice about places to see in the area, best places to park etc. These tips made our stay even more enjoyable. |You could choose either to stay put and chill or to travel around the area, as the accommodation is well placed for access to Bordeaux, Blayes, the Bay of Arcadian, Dune de Pilat and St Emilion. |We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace - the food provided was of very good quality and locally sourced. We thoroughly recommend a stay here. I was shocked to see an earlier adverse review as it was at odds with our experience, but reading between the lines this seemed to be more about the bad behaviour of the guests concerned.

Tres jolie. Highly recommended tranquil oasis in the Bordeaux countryside. Room was very clean and well presented. The breakfast was a real treat, the fresh local produce was delicious. The staff were most helpful and attentive.

Beautiful room and grounds. Helpful host. Enjoyed having the private spa outside our room. Good breakfast. A little hard to find if your using GPS. It takes you past the front entrance to the corner of nowhere. The gates are big and white and at the very beginning of the road. Sign is very small.

We stopped here overnight while travelling south from the ferry. Clos Marcamps was stunningly clean and well maintained, the owners friendly and welcoming and the simple food offering very welcome after a long day of travel. This is a little oasis just north of Bordeaux and we would very happily stay here again.

The 14 of us stayed for 2 nights chez Virginie and Jean-Philippe at Clos Marcamps in September this year. We have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in saying that theirs is a class act and a throughly excellent experience all round. The first night J-P laid on the talented Nawel Chati to cook dinner for us and it was a triumph. The second night we had the Clos’s light supper which was marvellous. All accommodations were of a very high standard and breakfast- including the delicious freshly squeezed orange juice - was everything one would expect and more. From the moment we arrived to when we left everything functioned seamlessly and to say we would return is simply an understatement. In addition their young staff were extremely helpful and attentive. How is it that small establishments like the Clos manage to outshine grander and more expensive hotels?
