A heritage hotel made out of an old property built around maybe 100 yrs ago. The location is great and the staffs made it feel like home. I can live in Closenberg for years and watch the surfers from their infinity pool. However, please put a little more effort on the maintenance.

This heritage hotel is an absolute gem, perched on an elevated cliff with panoramic views of Bonavista Bay. The architecture is exquisite, showcasing a perfect blend of history and elegance. It’s clear that this place has a rich story to tell, and the location is nothing short of magical. However, it’s evident that the hotel is in need of renovations. While the charm of its heritage is still intact, some areas feel worn and could benefit from restoration to match the grandeur of its setting. With a little love and investment, this hotel could easily become a top-tier destination for travelers seeking both history and luxury.

We just visited this hotel in December 2024… it was a NIGHTMARE…. Worst hotel we have ever visited in our travel experience. Don’t even try to book this hotel. The room you would get is completely falling apart. The room had cobwebs… there were ants crawling all over the place. Dust falling from the wooden roof. The shower didn’t work. We had to run the water in the shower for 10-15 min to even get warm not hot but warm water. The electric switches didn’t work. It was difficult to even charge our phone. The wifi was a nightmare. I had to carry my phone allover the place to get some reception. I had to keep complaining to the lady at the reception and she kept telling me i will do something but nothing happened. There were no bathroom amenities like shampoos or conditioners or the body lotion. We were completely lost in the hotel. I would not even call this a hotel it was like a house that would collapse anytime. So i highly recommend NEVER TO GO THERE… live there at your OWN RISK. Completely disappointed… we had book to stay there for 4 nights but we had to literally run away from there in 2 days… we couldn’t handle it anymore.

Management should give it to someone who can do it and leave. So badly maintained everything, seems to be left like this for ages. And also the service is not well trained. Location is not that great either but it's a nice villa facing the bay, too bad they are letting it rot. The rooms are dirty, musty and dusty. I don't think they did any check us on it's safety either. It can collapse on your head. No hot water no wifi not very wheelchair friendly. Food is also nothing special.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel during our pre-shoot. I contacted them several times since last October and confirmed that we would have a changing room included for Rs.15,000 for 2.5 hours. However, when we arrived, everything changed. The staff claimed that a changing room was never part of the deal and asked for an extra Rs.12,000. They said the new receptionist didn’t know the rules. And the old lady at the reception didn’t seem to know what she was talking about and provided very poor service. It felt like a terrible welcome, and they clearly do not know how to treat visitors. After talking to a person himself called manager, the price kept changing from Rs.12,000 to Rs.6,000, which was frustrating since I was told the changing room was included. In the end, they did give us a room, but it was in terrible condition, dirty with cobwebs and a strong smell of kerosene. Overall, this experience was unprofessional and disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel!!

My wedding was held today as an outside function and the service was amazingly quality and friendly. In terms of cost it’s a reasonable price and the food was delicious. I am recommending this hotel to anyone to organize any kind of functions.

It is a heritage hotel located in Galle harbor, It has a great view of the southern coast. Their Chinese food recipe in alacarte is expensive and boring, But when it comes to Sri Lankan breakfast it was great. Service is average. Not well maintained the place. But it has a magnificent view. I love the pool, architecture, garden and the view. And it is a really calm place.
