We booked a room with an ocean view, and when we entered the hotel, we were so happy—the surroundings and the building are absolutely stunning. But we were so disappointed with how poorly the place is maintained. The chairs and table on our balcony were dirty, the room was very small, and there was no TV.
They mentioned free WiFi, but the WiFi password was a mystery 🤭. The pool is small, though the pool area itself is beautiful. However, the toilets near the pool were disgusting.,sorry to say this, but I’ve seen public toilets that are much cleaner. The trash bins were overflowing with used toilet paper. Why not use bins with lids for that purpose? I really don’t understand. The toilets were stinky and dark, and even the doors, cupboards, and mini fridge were not properly maintained.
For breakfast, we were told we had to go with the “American style,” since the Sri Lankan breakfast would take more time. The so-called American breakfast included 8 slices of toasted bread, 8 small pieces of butter, pineapple jam, three small sausages, and one omelet. At the time we stayed, papaya was very cheap, and we were served papaya juice as a welcome drink, papaya juice again with breakfast, and papaya slices on our fruit plate.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and the location is absolutely stunning. Please, maintain this place with more care, you are ruining a beautiful property. Also, wouldn’t it be more convenient to provide tea bags instead of loose tea leaves in the rooms?
