Cloud 9 is one of those iconic spots in Siargao that you just have to visit especially if it’s your first time on the island. Even if you’re not into surfing, the vibe alone makes it worth the stop. The viewing deck and long boardwalk offer a perfect place to relax, and watch surfers catch waves, especially during sunrise or sunset, when the light hits the water just right.
I’ve been to Cloud 9 a few times now, and while it still has that signature charm with its lined shore and laid-back energy, I did notice it felt a bit different this time. Maybe it's the changes that come with more tourism or maybe just how things evolve, but it didn’t feel quite as raw or magical as my earlier visits. That said, the surf scene is still alive and kicking the waves are steady, the energy is high, and there’s always someone chasing the perfect ride.
Whether you're surfing, strolling the boardwalk, or just soaking in the atmosphere, Cloud 9 is a must-see. It might not feel as untouched as it once did, but it’s still a beautiful, chill spot to hang out and take in the view. A classic Siargao experience especially if you’re visiting for the first time.
