⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cloud and Leaf is an absolute gem in Manzanita. We wandered in for a quick look and ended up not wanting to leave. The book selection is fantastic, but what really surprised us was everything else — cute stationery, quality art supplies, and the most charming handmade notebooks. It feels like a cozy mix between a bookstore, an artist’s corner, and a treasure chest of thoughtful finds. The space is warm and welcoming, and you can tell how much care goes into curating every shelf. It’s the kind of place where you come in “just to browse” and somehow leave with a stack of things you didn’t even know you needed. A must-stop in Manzanita.

A perfect, cozy local bookstore with the cutest layout and wonderful little Knick knacks. I am so excited to come here more often as a new resident near town!

Google
This bookstore holds such a special place in my heart, it has been open for many years and coming to the beach as kids we would come here to buy books. Now coming here as an adult I appreciate the selection of books, how many local authors are represented and showcased, and how they have kept this place updated and in good condition over the years! I will be coming back many more times and hope to bring my own kids here one day!

Google
This bookstore is a must-stop on my yearly respite to Manzanita. I tend to pack at least two books in my carry-on for a normal trip, but when I'm going to Manzanita, I pack zero and let the Cloud and Leaf shelves decide what I will read for the week. It's one of the coziest independent bookstores I've ever visited. Stop in for your next "beach read." The local authors and staff picks' always end up as my favorites- this one, Kingfisher Lane, is a page-turner in the best way.

Google
Super cute little book store! Highly recommend stoping by. Great selection!

Google
Spectacular little bookstore! We went on a quick trip when we ran out of books on an exceptionally rainy week-long trip to the coast, and I loved the selection of items that the shop fits into its cozy space. I also appreciate a good local authors section and bookstore swag, both of which you get at Cloud & Leaf.

The owner was nice and friendly. Had a unique collection of interesting books catered to all ages.

Google
Fire. Absolute heat. This is a small bookstore but the selection and curated books are top notch. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Skipped Astoria & Seaside and Cannon Beach was a zoo, so opted to spend more time instead in Manzanita (8/29/24). Shared parking lot spots and street parking were full by Cloud & Leaf Bookstore. I found a spot a few blocks away, which made for a pleasant walk. This indie bookstore is a bit cramped, but did the job having a variety of titles to browse or purchase. I opted to snag instead the last long sleeved Tshirt with their cool business logo for $25. Easily this would cost more back home. Happy with this purchase.

Yelp
Adorable little bookstore! We were recently staying nearby for some relaxation. My hubby noticed a book in the window he thought I'd enjoy. The sounds of the sea and an interesting read? I think so! Although small, they seemed to have a nice selection. Everything was tidy and welcoming. The shopkeeper was happy to discuss my selection, as well as recommending and comparing a few others. Got to love a sweet, small-town bookstore!

Yelp
Small bookstore but an awesome option for local business. Smelled amazing when I walked in like all the best bookstores do. Spent some time wandering the shelves and found some hidden gems as well as current titles.

Yelp
Another store that I could absolutely live in. The employees didn't really engage much, but I don't mind that because there was PLENTY to look at on the carefully-curated shelves. I left with a classic, and with several other new titles on my WTR list.

Yelp
Amazing selection! Perfect for a sleepy little beach town. Grab a book & got read by the beach!

Maren M.

Yelp
SO CUTE! Love the vibe and friendly help if needed. They have local art towards the front of the shop that is perfect for a memento of a trip! For a small store they have a wide selection. Always come back here!

Yelp
Stopped in to this lovely bookstore on our way out of Manzanita this morning. The staff member who helped us was very sweet. She made personalized book suggestions for me, after asking about what some of my favorite books are. I enjoy reading a wide variety of genres of books, but in this case, I was looking for a light, fluffy, frothy, delight of a read (a book dessert, if you will). So the suggestions that were made for me were made with this in mind. I walked out with 3 books, and I am excited to read all 3 of them. The bookstore is cute and it has a thoughtful aesthetic both inside and out. I will add photos to my review in a week or two.

Yelp
Lovely beachy local bookstore. Love supporting locally owned businesses with charm. Staff was incredibly helpful and attentive and she carefully helped each person in our party pick out the perfect page turner for their own interests. They are being very careful with Covid and only let 4 people in the store at a time. Enjoyed the low stress search. Outside is equally charming with areas to sit and beautiful flowers and a rest spot for your puppy.

Yelp
'Hey Dog, You Dog, Good Dog, Wassup dog?' Manzanita is a dog lover's kind of town, so the first thing that caught my eye was the hitching post at the front of the store for your four-legged companions. It was the perfect blend of practicality and whimsy as you enter this small, independent bookstore in a scenic coastal town. I try not to have something in mind when I visit a store like this. I'd rather just let a little luck and fate, or advice from the staff, direct me to my next book. The selection is relatively small, but well chosen. Not hard to walk out with something wonderful to read with the sound of waves in the background.

Yelp
The owner was so kind and the book selection was perfect for good reads at the beach for adults and kids alike.

Yelp
Recommended to me by a number of friends, I'm so glad I was able to stop in and enjoy this magical bookstore during my most recent visit to Manzanita. A beautifully curated selection of tomes in a small storefront space...as a former bookseller myself I know how mighty a feat this is. Took home a couple of children's books for my own babe and some friends...will be back soon! Covid precautions: Limited shopper occupancy, provided hand sanitizer & plexi by checkout were much appreciated!

Yelp
Ordered Three Women and cant wait to get it! I ,too, believe in the printed page

Yelp
One of our favourite bookstores. For a small place it packs a lot of great reads including popular, classic and translated foreign books. The staff are friendly and helpful, always worth a stop on a visit to the coast.

Yelp
This coastal bookstore is as big as my closet, but manages a pretty impressive selection of fiction, non fiction, magazines (Lucky Peach) and children's fiction. Finally got a copy of, "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" which, as a Seattle transplant myself, I knew I had to read. The day I came here, the bookstore was teaming with locals buying books, chatting and sharing reviews. Okay, maybe there were ten people in here, but when you put ten people in a closet filled with books (this place is tiny) you definitely feel like you are in a crowd. Just from their fanbase, you can sense their importance of this small place as a hub to the local beachside community.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been to Manzanita several times but this was our first time in this shop. It was stormy, and reading a book sounded like the perfect way to spend the day. Have you ever entered a place and felt immediately overwhelmed? This is not a large shop but the shelves are packed and the aisles are narrow. There were several other people in the shop and it felt like close quarters at first. Sometimes I get claustrophobic and initially I was feeling that a bit. I'm not good at making decisions, and I had no idea what I was even looking for. I picked a few books up and set them back down, feeling bad for judging books based on their covers and hoping one would just jump out at me, chose me, like a wizard's wand. Then I slowed down enough to start reading the handwritten notes all over the shelves, on different little scraps of paper and written in varied handwriting. Thanks to these notes, one did jump out at me, a book that somehow combined several interests of mine. I picked up The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, a book I had never heard of. Somehow this was, and is, the perfect book. Once I found that one, other books began calling to me but I had to choose only one. I'm still enjoying the feeling of holding a new book in my hands, being immersed in a new story, wrapped in a blanket, drinking coffee, safe from the storm. I can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
A bibliophiles dream come true. For any who visit prepare to be astonished that small locally owned bokstores DO EXIST. If you are anywhere within an hour of this place, enjoy the scenic drive, ocean air & buy yourself a book, or 10, from a store worth the detour. Friends invited us to stay with them in the small Oregon coastal town just south of Astoria named, Manzanita. My plan without Internet & cable to instead play board games & read. Alas & unsurprisingly, I ran out of books!!!!!! We walked to main street & saw a sign for a bookstore. When I say "bookstore" I actually mean a storefront filled with BOOKS. I have been many a time to the touristy & famed "Last Bookstore" in LA & wandered into many coffee shops with a small cache of books shoved in a corner that fancy themselves "bookstores" but never any place like this. Pros: selection, prices, knowledgeable owner, suggested reads with notes on shelves, organized, clean, mystical existence, stock of strong female protagonists, kids nook, awesome coffee shop/ deli next door Cons: location (who knows maybe a portal exists for mystical storefronts, stay tuned), limited parking (if you are at the beach people just walk)

Yelp
What a great find!!! We were so disappointed that we found this gem just 10 minutes before closing time. We will DEFINITELY be back the next time we are in the area. I highly recommend that you stop in. The gentleman working their was delightful and so very helpful!!!

Yelp
This turned out to be my favorite shop in Manzanita. We rented a house within walking distance, and I came here almost every day. It's a small shop and has a stellar selection of books - great variety and the employees provided me with some great recommendations each time I stopped in.

Yelp
What a wonderful bookstore in the middle of the nicest small town on the Oregon coast. I love that I was able to walk into an independently owned book store and buy a book I really wanted to read. I also found a couple of lovely cards of some local flora and fauna. Another nice touch. I also loved all the tips and recommendations strewn around on the bookshelves, so you got a little insight into the books. I also thought some of the headings for sections were great. ie. Being Human instead of Self Help? Nice. Thanks Cloud and Leaf Bookstore. Fell in love with you inside and out.

Yelp
They don't make them like this much more these days.. And it's pretty sad folks. It's all going to the internet. Bookstores are a thing of the past if you don't contribute to them. If you like walking in and catching that new book smell and you like touching the pages and opening the books to catch a glimpse of what you might want to read and if you like being able to go up to a human being and ask them some questions about an author or a story.. you have to buy a book THERE. Don't use them for research only.

Yelp
Cloud & Leaf is the sort of bookstore that every community should have, but is now a rarity. When you're at the beach enjoying Manzanita, be sure to stop at Cloud & Leaf. Wonderful, diverse selection, helpful staff, great recommendations, and customer service that goes above and beyond. I special ordered a book on Monday, it arrived on Wednesday, with an arrival call from the store's owner, no less. A trip to Cloud & Leaf is worth the trip.

Yelp
I spend a lot of time in Manzanita, but didn't discover this store until I needed to duck out of a rainstorm. It''s a small place, but I could spend hours browsing. It seems that they have every book I've ever wanted. I'm an avid reader, but can never seem to find The Perfect Book at the library. The Cloud & Leaf is full of perfect books, with handwritten recommendation cards on many of them! Great selection for a small store and a wonderful place to spend a few rainy hours at the beach.

Yelp
Awesome little indie book shop that is always filled with a great selection and awesome tips. I love this place. They pack a lot into a small space, but you never feel claustrophobic at all. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Very laid back vibe. We need to support our local book sellers. Great selection of childrens' / youth books as well. Nice variety that go beyond Walter the Farting Dog (not that Walter sucks, but society is dumbing down our children enough).

Yelp
A small, quaint space that the owner carefully curates. She has offerings across the spectrum with an extra nod in areas of poetry, mystery, and writing. Jody also stocks FUN cards, postcards, some journals, stamps and pens. She has a nice used selection across genres which is particularly useful if you're out for the weekend and want something inexpensive to keep you company on the beach. She and her staff are delightful, and will order in whatever you need if you're in town for a longer stay. I don't get out there as often as I used to, and I miss this gem of a bookstore.

Yelp
Love this little bookshop. Great selections and found some new authors I hadn't heard of before. Very pleasant atmosphere and lovely outdoor plants :-)

Yelp
This bookstore reminds me of the way bookstores were in days of yore. The staff is friendly and helpful, the selection is ecclectic, broad and quite simply magnificent. When I walk in, I feel I've walked in to a safe, warm and stimulating place in the universe!

Yelp
My all time favorite bookstore. I always stock up on books when I'm in town. Love to support local businesses in Manzanita.

Yelp
Every time I am in Manzanita, I always make sure to stop in at the Cloud & Leaf Bookstore. It's a tiny little place, which I love. The only problems I have with this bookstore is that 1)The lighting is rather low. And 2) The employee's tend to chat, which can make it difficult to concentrate in such a small space. Other than that, I love the Cloud & Leaf! I usually walk out of there with an interesting book.

Yelp
Such a great resource for our community, I love this bookstore and the staff is super helpful.

Yelp
I've never walked out of this store without spending money and I consider that a testament to this place -- I rely on good independent bookstores to introduce me to books and authors I wouldn't othewise read, and this place delivers.

Anne F.

Yelp
I have been reading MY BOOKSTORE and realized that I'd been in one that could compete with any that had been reviewed by the collection of 84 authors, I spent several hours of a very brief vacation getting acquainted with the way the store is laid out, and seemed to find books in every area that I simply had to have. It may be small, but it has an unparalled selection for the space And, Jody, the owner is why, I'm looking forward to the next time! Anne Ferguson

Yelp
a small but very pleasant little bookstore in a small but very pleasant town...every time I've gone in the lady working has been nice and friendly...this was actually the first time I'd bought something...I was greeted immediately upon walking in and when I asked if they had the item I wanted she immediately went and got it for me...yes it's not a huge store, but if that's what your looking for than go to B&N...Cloud and Leaf is for those of us who want a more intimate book buying experience...

Miriam M.

Yelp
only been once, but can't wait to go again. a little rad bookstore. You can tell immediately that each book is handpicked and that makes you really feel... what's missing in the "everything for everyone" stores. It's got a soul. The soul of the purveyors :) I wanted a book of poetry, just for kicks, and was just browsing, and then asked the cashier for help re: "can you advise me on something in the vein of...?" and she had some great recommendations, one of which I bought and am thrilled with. :) SOUL. it really is about that. and this place has a warm fuzzy one that connects good with mine.

L R.

Yelp
A dozen of the most meaningful books I've read over the last few years were discovered at Cloud and Leaf, books I didnt know existed before finding them here. It's better than walking into a pharmacy and walking out with a medicine. Because you walk out of Cloud and Leaf of better mind than you've ever been. as if the store knows exactly what you need and has it..
