Absolutely amazing! We’ve been trying to make reservations for 2yrs, and finally made it for our 1yr anniversary having gotten married in the area last yr. We love VT and this dinner was worth the wait. Service and vibe are outstanding. The view and farm is stunning. Hope to be back.

Had such a lovely dinner here with friends. Food was absolutely delicious. Locally sourced. You can buy frozen meats and gifts in the gift shop. Beautiful farm.

Thank you, Molly (and the other lovely young lady who greeted and sat us!) for making this a true experience! The atmosphere here was enhanced by the fog and light, cool rainy evening. Loved the cozy feeling it added! The food was excellent, the service superb. Molly was warm and took her time with us, making us feel so welcome. Hope you get a chance to go to this farm-to-table farm. It was amazing!! (Yes, there's a gravel road you'll traverse to get here. Just drive slowly, enjoy the atmosphere and you'll get there in no time.)

Such a great atmosphere! It was a menu that we were not sure about and thought about canceling, but gave it a try anyways and the team at Cloudland Farm knocked it out of the park. The food was some of the best we have had in a while and the service was excellent. Cloudland made us remember to not judge menu by its cover. It was incredible. We cannot wait for our next visit!

Incredible experience. All local ingredients and the dishes are packed with flavor and freshness. The salad we were served was probably the best one either of us had ever had in our lives.

Amazing fresh food from ingredients from the same farm. Apple pie from the apples trees on the farm! Everything tasted so good. The service is super friendly and its a beautiful restaurant inside with beautiful decor.

Fresh farm to table experience in a lovely setting. It’s a picturesque ride on the road to the restaurant. A lovely porch and clean interior design of a modern farmhouse. A roaring fire awaited and our server observer was warm and welcoming. The chef takes price in each course and it was all delicious. For the price ($175 for 2), a few at our table commented on the petite portions. You definitely have room for desert which was a highlight — a savory (salty) maple tart with Asian pear. That too was a tease in size. Nice to be able to BYOB.

Another spectacular evening at Cloudland! Butternut squash soup was excellent. The garnish of chorizo and lentils added great texture. Steak prepared perfectly accompanied by potato's and red cabbage followed by a delicious raspberry upside down cake! Chef Mike never ceases to amaze

My wife and I celebrated our 1year anniversary here and we think it's a contender for the best meal we've had together. Delicious food, with a great story about where it's all from. Truly farm to table! Molly our server was great and we were made to feel very welcome by Cathy the host. The views were amazing, the restaurant is in impeccable shape and clearly well taken care of. Such a wonderful visit, we will absolutely be back.

We had a truly bad experience here - and went in with such high hopes after securing a coveted reservation! The hostess was brusque and unwelcoming; the waiter balked when I asked if there might be a simple option for our kids - like eggs. You get what you get here - 1 option and 3 courses. Our menu was frankly disgusting, ill-inspired, dated and we left before dessert, despite the Prix fix cost! It was pork cheeks over a massive bowl of grits to start - flavorless and oat colored with some bacon tossed on top. The main dish was a dried out brisket with hunks of potato and root veg and a sauce from 1995. The only plus was the nice bottle of Pinot that we BYOB'd. Save your $$ and skip this over rated spot. Last note: the waiter asked the perfunctory "how is your food" and I responded "it's OK" in a way she'd know it really wasn't up to par. Nothing to make it better and zero flexibility from the staff. The fire place was nice but frankly the overall chilly vibe deterred from it!

Beautiful restaurant located on a working farm in rural Vermont. Limited reservations (recommended 3-5 weeks in advance) for dinner and only on Fridays and Saturdays currently. There's alsoa farm shop that sells some of its products. We considered booking a rehearsal dinner here, but it was too far for our guests to travel.

We had a great experience, but our steak was a little salty. The portion was great for the price . However our vegetarian friends thought their entree was overpriced (since it's a prefixed menu with a fixed price) we had a group of 6 so they sat us upstairs by ourselves, which we liked. It's in a cute farm house with a fireplace and lots of lights. The route to get there on the GPS isn't the best for your tires so it's better to follow the directions on their website . It's BYOB but there is a uncorking fee

We were visiting Woodstock from RI and I made a reservation at Cloudland based on Yelp reviews. We were tempted to cancel when we realized the menu included a chicken leg as the main course for $52. So happy we did not! This is a beautiful spot (we dined outside) and a quintessential Vt experience. The server was friendly and knowledgeable, giving us a history of the farm. All 3 courses were special, starting with a kale salad, the chicken leg with mashed potatoes and veggies and an amazing sauce and finally a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and crumbles and sour cream ice cream. Totally worth $52 pp!! I would highly recommend. The vibe was warm and inviting and the scenery was beautiful.

Can't say enough great things about our experience. We sat outside on the porch with a great view of the farm. We had braised pork that was so tender and full of interesting flavors. Our waitress took the time to tell us all about the farm and answer our many questions. A true dining experience and all local! We will definitely be back!

Chuckeye with yogurt sauce was the best meal I've ever had (former vegetarian speaking). Can't wait to go back

I've now been here twice, both in 2018. Once last summer and once this past December. My first visit was probably a 3, my most recent visit was closer to a 5 so I'm averaging them out. The property itself is great. You park in a barn, you eat in a timber framed farm house. The restaurant has a very nice deck that overlooks the property. For our summer visit we arrived early with our drinks (the restaurant is BYOB) and pulled up a seat on the deck and took in the scenery for half an hour. This was easily the highlight of that visit. You pay a flat fee for a three course meal that's preset by the restaurant. Both times we went it was under $50 per person. They're very accommodating of dietary restrictions, just give them a heads up (my brother needed to avoid eating garlic and onion and they overhauled the appetizer for him and made him something completely different). When we went in December we brought beers, wine, ciders, and cocktails. They charge a small corking fee (a couple bucks or something like that), but it's still considerably cheaper than buying alcohol at any other restaurant. They asked us what sort of glassware we needed and supplied us with rocks glasses, beer glasses, wine glasses and champaign flutes. The service has been consistently excellent on both visits. The drive to get here feels a little long, but ultimately it's worth it. I'd definitely advise going when you can enjoy the outdoor space.

We came here for a large family holiday meal. I think having one meal offering per night makes it a little challenging for large groups to come here and have everyone be satisfied (maybe 2-3 choices would be better? At least a dedicated vegetarian entree?), though we all enjoyed it. On our night, the meal included Parisian cheese gnocchi, roasted pork, and pecan pie. I enjoyed each and most of our family did, too. There was definitely some inconsistency across plates which was readily apparent because the food and portions should've been identical. I finished up someone else's pie (just the kind of gal I am!) and the texture and taste were definitely different from what I had gotten. I found the price to be extremely reasonable and from checking the menu frequently, it seems that it's usually in the range of $30-40 per person. The restaurant is BYOB, and they're very prepared for that with a lot of different glass options. Orchestrating our drinks was easy. The service was good and our waitresses were extremely well informed about the menu. I appreciated the coat stand at the front. The bathrooms were nice. The market up front is small but could have some cool stuff depending on the season. It was already dark when we arrived, but I suspect from the very long path we drove to get there that the grounds are pretty. I did like the parking barn which seemed like it could be a cool place to host an event!

What an amazing experience on an active farm. Make sure to call way ahead as they have very limited seating right now. Food was very good. This place is also BYOB to plan accordingly.

You might think you're lost, you might think you're driving up someone's driveway... but if you power through, you will be grateful. There is one set menu every night, and there are no decisions to be made. Everything on the menu is as local as it gets - every time I've been, the meat has been from their farm, and the rest of the food has been from the region. It means that you're eating more root vegetables in the winter, but there's something special about that. This is my favorite spot for dinner in Woodstock. Pro tip - it's BYOB, and Gillingham's downtown always has a recommendation listed and the menu printed so you have a great pairing.

This was the farm to table experience I've been looking for in Vermont. Everything was local and they even list out where each item in the dish came from. Tables were properly spaced out. Food came out efficiently. Staff was great. Food was amazing and for $50 for a 3 course meal is a steal! Would highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic dinner at Cloudland. Everything they use is from their farm or other nearby farms and most of it is heirloom or special varietals, which makes everything tastes incredible. Carrots tasted nothing like those you get in the store. The beef oso bucco was amazing. The location is lovely. The ride in is worth the trip alone. It is BYOB so plan to bring your own wine. They have bins to chill it and for a small--really small--corkage will open and serve it.

I've lived in the Upper Valley for a couple years now and have done my fair share of eating out...and Cloudland Farm is one of the BEST places I've eaten at. The ambience was cozy, the food tasted super fresh (esp. the greens, they tasted like they had just been picked off the farm) and I was quite the happy eater at the end of the night. My mom was visiting from California and she isn't afraid to say her mind, and even she really enjoyed her meal. Book reservations early in advance (3 weeks?) since they're only open for dinner Thur-Sat. The menu is pre fixe but they do ask if anyone has any food allergies or dietary restrictions when you call ahead. They sell frozen meat from the farm at the entrance - make sure to stock up if you live in the area. We bought the beef bratwursts, froze them for a couple months, and just cooked them this week when we had company over. SO good.

What a fabulous restaurant. Came here in a group of 6 for dinner on our annual gals weekend. As a first timer the place absolutely lived up to the hype. It is down a long dark unpaved road which may seem a little off putting, but throw your high beams on and BYOB. The farm to table meal was so delicious I can't decide which was favorite course. The sourdough bread was unreal, the slaw with the brisket, and the carrot cake was something to write home about. Go. Make the reservation. Spend the $50/plate and again BYOB

I loved loved loved this place. We came here with a party of 6 and every single person came out very satisfied and very full after our dinner. It is a full farm to table restaurant and the only thing I would say that can hold it back is that because it is small there is no choice for the guests when it comes to what is served. However the night we came the main dish was pork and since I do not eat pork they were very accommodating and made me some delicious gnocchi. The staff were super friendly and very descriptive to where all the ingredients came from and what was on our plates. There is a little porch outside to go sit and enjoy the view if you show up early or in our case want to browse around after the very filling meal.

We visited Cloudland Farms during a fun girls getaway weekend before a new baby arrives and had SUCH a lovely dinner. Everything about the meal was wonderful and cooked to perfection. The waitstaff was extremely accommodating to the needs of an expectant mamma and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! For the others of us who were drinking, we enjoyed the BYOB. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Visitors to Woodstock for a second time although this was our first time at Cloudland Farm. Had a very pleasant dining experience. Our service was very polite and attentive as well as giving us a nice succinct schpeal about the farm. Food was obviously very fresh and very well prepared. Had a wide array of tastes and textures given the limited nature of the menu. Would recommend for a nice dinner. Will come back if we are in Woodstock again.

The highlight of our trip to Vermont! Drove from Woodstock and it did NOT disappoint. Easily in the top 3 best meals I've ever had in my life. Highly, highly recommend. My only wish is that they were open on Sundays bc we would be going back for a second night in a row if they were!

Cloudland is the definition of 'farm to table'. Our dinner came off their land, and land from adjacent small farms. We brought some of our California family here on Friday night. The Vermont experience, drive up a beautiful dirt road (right by Joe Perry's house, for the rock fans). Close to the top of the hill, with beautiful views in every direction, you pull into the lot for the beautifully finished post and beam building. We were seated by the fireplace - lucky us, as it was about 2 degrees outside. First timers were greeted with a short story about the history of the farm, which has been in the family for a century. There aren't many family farms left - it's an amazing experience to have such a great dinner experience here. Vintage Americana, wonderful service, delicious food. Dinner starts with fresh baked sourdough, and then 3 courses. The first course was herb and cheese gnocchi with kale, bacon, and pickled shallots. The entree was a good-sized serving of farm-raised turkey, with sweet & white potato hash, and a slightly sweet combination of braised cabbage, cranberry & apple. Dessert was beyond my ability to describe - chocolate sorbet, coffee/chocolate cake, candied pecans, vanilla bean, and maple cream. fresh turkey farm fresh turkey (oh yeah, you can order your Thanksgiving birds here, too), with a sweet potato and white potato hash. On previous visits we have had beef entrees. The turkey was absolutely delicious. You need to book in advance - and check the menu online Wednesday of the week of your visit. Arrive early and hang out on the porch if the weather lets you. BYOB...there's something gratifying about that, too. Speaks to my Yankee thrift.

Hard to find, but spectacular! Had the opening season 5 course menu: this is true farm-to-table, not some Brooklyn hipster BS. Owners are friendly, service is excellent. BYOB too, which is a real plus. FYI - you might want to write directions down instead of relying on your phone: the reception is almost nonexistent.

While many Vermont restaurants now serve food prepared from local ingredients, Cloudland Farm takes the concept to a deeper level. About half of what's on your plate at any given dinner is raised on the farm. The rest is purchased from local growers or other Vermont producers like Cabot Creamery. Take, for example, the meal we had on Saturday, October 9. The pork in our entree was raised on the farm. The sour cherries for its sauce were picked in the orchard and preserved by chef Nick Mahood. And the broccoli and chard served with this entree were grown in Cloudland's garden. Rounding out our dinner was a lovely appetizer of fresh pasta filled with a silken purée of lightly seasoned butternut squash served in a spiced cider broth: a tasty and satisfying appetizer. Dessert included a deconstructed apple pie: poached local apples nestled between pastry sauced with a bourbon caramel sauce. This dish was served with a cheddar crisp and locally made vanilla ice cream. To start, we were offered sourdough bread made, we were told, with a starter that was 100 years old. The bread was lightly sour with a slightly charred crust. Served with unsalted butter from Cabot Creamery. Dinner is served in a cozy room warmed by a fireplace burning wood harvested on the farm. The building itself is built from wood cut on Cloudland Farm. In warm weather, relax on the front porch with a glass of wine--the restaurant is BYOB. In winter, enjoy your dinner in front of a blazing fire--from wood cut on the farm, of course. Cloudland serves dinner a family-style dinner onThursday night and a served dinner on Saturday nights. The menu for the week is posted on the farm website early each week. Vegetarian options are available. The food is real--and delicious. The only downside is that the dining room is noisy, not a place for those who are hard-of-hearing. On your way out, you can pick up some Cloudland products from the freezer case: great beef, pork, poultry. Not everything is available all the time, but the quality is excellent and it's all raised on the farm.

We drove up for a weekend from NYC this summer. This was hands down the best farm to table dining experiences we have ever had. The food was so fresh. Each dish was delicious and the best part was BYOB. We sat outside on a beautiful porch during sunset. I highly recommed stopping here if you are in the area.

They gave taken the slow food locally grown to a new level. There are only two evenings with dinner. Family style on Thursday's and prix fixe on Saturdays. The chef uses local ingredients and Cloudland Farm beef, pork, and chicken. The menu is fixed each night, but the chef will accommodate allergies if it is announced. We were asked about allergies when we made reservations. We had a gazpacho with tomato sorbet. Followed by skirt steak stuffed with spinach and blue cheese. Dinner was finished with a yogurt panne cotta with a scoop of strawberry sorbet and a scoop of cucumber sorbet. Yes the restaurant is way out on a dirt road (~4 miles), but worth the trek!!

Absolutely loved Cloudland Farm for our special anniversary dinner. It was great that is BYO, because we were able to bring our own wine that we chose specifically for the steak that was being served that evening. The atmosphere is so serene and beautiful. The air seems to taste so good up on the hilltop where the farm is located. The food was perfectly portioned and so fresh....straight from their farm and other local farms. I loved how they staggered the seating, so that their waitstaff wasn't overwhelmed by everyone being seated at once. We were able to arrive a little early, walk around the farm and sit on the porch and enjoy the setting before being seated for a delicious 3 course dinner. We would absolutely go back.

Food is 4 Stars but we award 6 Stars for atmosphere and service by granddaughter of the people who started the farm over 100 yes ago and the whole concept (come to our farm and we will feed you what we are making tonight and if you are DF or GF we can work around that but we are making one entree and dessert per person and it will be good eatin' even for city folk visiting and great price and we won't throw away a scrap). The drive alone is better than most meals you will eat and his is the real deal farm to table 100 feet away). Great place.

Beautiful setting, delicious food, couldn't ask for much more. I have a few food allergies and the chef was incredibly accommodating, I had requested the items just be left off to make their lives easier but they made substitutions for me anyway! I'm surprised at the overpriced comments, this is food these people have grown and cultivated with their own hands to serve to you, not mass produced meats, the price is more than worth it to know where your food came from. Can't wait to come back next year!

Truly local and truly farm to table. Stunning Vermont location set the perfect evening. Probably had the best beef tenderloin in my life here where they raised their cows. A true gem and not to be missed!

We completely agree with another reviewer that the food at Cloudland is much like a very good home-cooked meal. Except my wife never experienced severe stomach pains after a home-cooked meal. First, there are no spectacular views, either outside or inside the restaurant. Second, the restaurant itself is fairly spartan. I would describe the atmosphere as tables inside a large, comfortable room. That's it. Second, the food was good but not great. The portions are on the small side and men will likely leave hungary. The coffee was disappointing at $2.50 a cup. As we were driving back to our hotel, my wife started having strong stomach cramps. Fortunately, she avoided a long night in the bathroom. I recommend that you travel 20 minutes east and try Simon Pierce in Quchee, VT or an hour east and enjoy the Inn at Pleasant Lake in New London, NH.

This is a great place where there is a beautiful view of the mountains and farm land! Food is wonderful! Cathy is terrific and even provided cold frosted glasses for our local micro-brewery beer! It's a must if you are going to Woodstock for a farm to table experience!

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing view and a good deal. All the meat is from the farm and the vegetables and most of the ingredients are local - you see where your food's from. You gotta check this place out for a legit VT experience. Burger night is not to be forgotten!

First the positive: The views, the building, and the location are all lovely and the service, while simple and mid-grade, is certainly at least friendly and generally unpretentious in attitude. The porch is also great and if I could just get a cheese plate and sit there enjoying the summer night while avoiding the restaurant that's what I'd choose. Not-so-positive: 1. Portions are beyond terrible. Come looking for a light snack and you just might leave almost satisfied. I've been to many fine restaurants which use small portions and/or multiple courses to create a complete meal experience but they have no idea here how to appropriately craft a fine meal using appropriate portions. Additionally, the menu when we were there and online was a flat out lie. It clearly stated "Stuffed chicken thighs and wheat berry chicken cakes" as the entree when in fact each diner was served one HALF of one SMALL singular chicken thigh and a lone small chicken cake. Maybe it's just a lack of attention to detail or understanding of what the plural tense means, but it was very misleading and I overhead other tables grumbling about the lack of food as well. All other items were listed on the menu using the appropriate tense for what was in fact served. As part of a 2-3 course meal with one course being an extremely light veggie puree and another a delicate dessert, this just doesn't work and is insulting to patrons. For reference, my wife is 5ft 0in, barely 100lbs and left the evening still hungry. 2. Pace was very fast and rushed. Within a few minutes of arriving we had our bread and first course- nothing wrong with that. However, they then proceeded to bring out our entrees the second our spoons hit the plate as we finished our first course and by the time they finally retrieved the wine we'd brought our miniscule meal was largely gone. We tried to wait but as it was already luke-warm when it arrived and seemed as though it had been done and sitting for some time we didn't want to eat cold food. The funny thing was we had actually even told our server that we'd enjoy a little time to just enjoy the wine between courses. This was completely ignored. 3. Food on the whole was decent for what it was but very safe and rather uninspired. Simple and straightforward dishes with zero wow factor. Not gross or bad by any stretch, just far below what one would expect for the price. No creativity and very predictable. 4. The inside of the dining room has beautiful woodwork but is decorated and lit like a college cafeteria. Minimal ambiance. Wish I had liked the restaurant more given the concept and setting, but just completely underwhelmed.

BYO. Nice Pre Fixe menu that is local and highly seasonal. Sensational beef and the Carrot Cake dessert was excellent and unexpected. I hate Carrot Cake. Soup could have been hotter. I could have eaten more brussel sprouts. A few details like that to clean up but otherwise stellar.

Hours of research paid off when I found the Thursday night farm to table dinner at Cloudland Farms, perfect for our one night stay in Woodstock, Vermont. We drove out to the farm complete with a journey on gravel roads by beautiful land. We arrived for the 6 pm family style dinner and found ourselves among locals and world travelers. The atmosphere was amazing. Intimate tables with candles and high wood beam ceilings all with a great view of the large fireplace and rolling hills. You can byob. We started with homemade sourdough bread and Cabot butter. It came out piping hot, fresh from the oven. The main course was beef brisket from the farm with a red wine and tomato jus topped with caramelized shallots. The sides were braised radicchio with a red wine vinegar base and shaved Parmesan, as well as roasted fingerling potatoes over a bed of spinach. Everything was amazing and melted in my mouth. The meat was so tender and the jus screamed for me to mop up every last but with my bread. There was not a drop left on my plate and I would've eaten more if dressers wasn't eminent. We had an apple tart with pumpkin ice cream, gingerbread crumble, cream anglaise and caramel sauce. It was the perfect small portion. The contrast of tart apples, sweet sauce and anglaise, crunch of the gingerbread crumble, and spice of the pumpkin ice cream made this the perfect fall treat. I celebrated the chef's meal by sipping some local, organic celebration herbal tea, with you guessed it herbs from the farm. Every part of the meal was sourced locally which you could read about on the menu. It was about $60 for two and worth every penny. This was the best experience of our vacation so far.

I went to Cloudland Farm with my husband and two kids for Korean night last Friday. It was amazing!! Everything was made from scratch and locally sourced. This restaurant is what farm to table should be and I love the creativity the chef has to create ethnic dishes like the three courses we enjoyed on Friday. It was a cold rainy night, but the inside was very cozy with a fire in the big fireplace. The servers were extremely friendly and knowledgable about the food and preparation. I can't wait to return in the coming months, I love that the menu keeps changing based on what is seasonally available.

We have looked forward to eating here for years and finally we made it there on November 6th. Our server was great and explained everything and was very friendly. The six of us got the salad, which was an $8 additional fee, that was not the problem, it was presented great, but the 5 to 6 leaves of wonderful lettuce was not enough for any of us, although there was a small square onion quiche and two very very small pickled dragon cauliflower tips. All very tasty! Our dinner arrived and it was barely 3 ounces of meat. Although it was tasty. It was served with a few slivers of beets and barely a whole carrot was used for the entire table. We all found this very insulting. Now dessert, the bourbon ice cream was excellent, but the scoop was a melon baller size, once again, this was an insult. The apple cake was just so so. But they did put two candied walnuts under the ice cream. Now the decor....yikes, we all, including the men, felt like it was a dining hall. The room was a beautiful structure, but the bright lights and no ambience. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Cloudland farm was recommended to us by our innkeepers at the Jackson House Inn who mentioned the food here was as local as it gets. We were able to get reservations for the three course dinner served on Thursdays and enjoyed a memorable evening there. Our long drive to the farm on a country road set the mood, surrounded as we were by hills and farmland. The restaurant is a huge barn-like building with a porch at the rear. While we waited for our table to be readied, we ordered wine, and sat on the porch enjoying the amazing view of the hills beyond. The dinner was delicious, simple in concept yet complex in flavour. The ambience of the space was grand yet warm and inviting. We were the last to dine and the owner of the farm who happened to be in chatted with us briefly before he left to complete some work on the farm. A lovely slice of Vermont served on a plate.

Overall, 4 or 5 stars for landscape, restaurant ambiance, and cleanliness. Meals were made with fresh produce from the farm or local farms. Portions were small. One entree per night and ours was pork loin stuffed with Swiss chard. Too much fat in pork loin for my wife. Desert was maybe 4 bites. At $47 per person and only one entree including small salad and desert, over priced. Could have had a great steak at another restaurant. About 4 miles of dirt road to get there. Meals vary each night Thursday thru Saturday during summer. BYOB $5 corkage fee. Park in a barn/shed. Restaurant building only 4 years old.
