"Clouds Estate is a luxury hotel and restaurant located in the Franschhoek Wine Valley. Here, visitors can stop into the tasting room to sample the estate’s wines or dine at the hotel restaurant. If you simply can’t tear yourself away from the dramatic vistas of Simonsberg Nature Reserve, you can choose to spend the night in one of the seven guestrooms or six semi-detached villas, all of which offer sweeping views of the mountains. But whatever you do, be sure to check out the estate’s art collection (curated by a local gallery owner and featuring South African artists like Hanneke Benadé, Kurt Pio, Helen Vaughan, and Strijdom van der Merwe), and don’t leave without purchasing a bottle of the signature pink sauvignon blanc."

We stayed in a deluxe villa on the estate. Communication prior to arrival was excellent and it was easy to book a reasonably priced transfer from the airport. They kindly allowed us a complimentary (very) early check in and that was fantastic after a long flight. The room was very spacious with a stunning view from the patio. It was quiet and peaceful. There was a working kitchen with a coffee machine and tea and coffee and complimentary wine, beer and snacks. The amenities were very comprehensive. The bed was large and comfortable with good air conditioning. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of cut fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, smoked salmon and pastries plus a cooked to order hot choice (including eggs royale!). My husband is very fussy about his coffee but said the coffee he was served was perfect. We had lunch and dinner there and although there was limited choice, all the meals were very tasty and the portions large. We had a private wine tasting of five of the Estate’s wines which we really enjoyed. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend a stay here if in stellenbosch.

Wife and I stayed for 3 days in one of the villas. Very well appointed, lovely little touches like the fresh fruit and cookies in the villa. It also has a stunning view from the terrace. The bottle of wine was exceptionally good as well. Great shower, heated bathroom floor was a joy as were the toiletries. Service was fabulous, such helpful and friendly staff are a credit to the whole place. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, special note to the Mediterranean open sandwich for being different and amazing. Dinner was brilliant both nights, the ostrich was the standout dish for me but I also loved the beetroot salad. All in all we loved it, recommend it and will definitely go back.

Clouds Wine Estate offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards, creating a perfect getaway to relax. The food at the restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast. The service was equally impressive, from the warm and welcoming reception to the attentive staff throughout our stay. It's a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy incredible scenery, good food, and exceptional hospitality.

My wife and I have stayed here a few times before and it is still one of our favorite spots in the Cape. The views from the property (incl. our room) are some of the most beautiful we have experienced from any hotel anywhere in the world. Being in the vineyards is a lovely experience and falling asleep to the sound of a thousand frogs is great.|During the day there is unfortunately a fair bit of noise from a neighboring property. I think it is some kind of agricultural equipment, so there may not be anything they can do about it. |The room is getting a bit tired now, especially our bathroom felt like it needs a refresh (tiles chipping in places, faucet and toilet flushing mechanism not working 100% anymore).

Truly magic…..an incredible hotel with majestic views of the Helshgoote pass. Walking distance to Tokara wine estate for tasting a a golf cart service tinder Graff for fine dining. The room had stunning views and a hot tub with fabulous finishes. The complimentary bubbles for breakfast was a great touch.

Breathtaking views over the vineyards and mountains — and some of the best wineries like Delaire Graff and Tokara are just a short walk away. Breakfast was excellent, and the atmosphere overall is calm and sophisticated.
