"Clouds Estate is a luxury hotel and restaurant located in the Franschhoek Wine Valley. Here, visitors can stop into the tasting room to sample the estate’s wines or dine at the hotel restaurant. If you simply can’t tear yourself away from the dramatic vistas of Simonsberg Nature Reserve, you can choose to spend the night in one of the seven guestrooms or six semi-detached villas, all of which offer sweeping views of the mountains. But whatever you do, be sure to check out the estate’s art collection (curated by a local gallery owner and featuring South African artists like Hanneke Benadé, Kurt Pio, Helen Vaughan, and Strijdom van der Merwe), and don’t leave without purchasing a bottle of the signature pink sauvignon blanc."

Let me start by saying that the property is fantastic. The location is lovely with amazing views of the surrounding mountains, and our room was really well equipped and comfortable. We loved using the pool and had a really comfortable night’s sleep. The staff were also friendly and readily available and we had a tasty breakfast. Unfortunately though, we did not have a smooth experience. The keys to the room are custom RFID keys and ours did not work the entire stay. This meant that every time we wanted to open or lock our door we had to go to reception for help, which was frustrating given that our room was down the hill separate to the main building. This meant about ~4 trips up the hill every time we left or had to reenter the room. The real issue was that for the duration of our one night stay we did not have hot water in our room. There were maintenance staff on the ground fixing a burnt element in the geyser the morning we checked out, but the only offered resolution was for us to use another room in the main hotel which again was in a separate building to our room. We identified that the water wasn’t getting hot within less than an hour of checking in and had hoped that we could at the very least have been offered to move to another room with working hot water, but this wasn’t the case. In any other instance this might have been understandable but after paying roughly R9400 for a one night stay we would have expected a hot shower as the minimum. Overall not a bad stay, but enough inconveniences that it probably won’t be worth returning.

What a wonderful estate! The views from|Cloud estate are breathtaking. I could just sit near the pool area and admire the beauty for the whole day.||Upon arrival we were treated with strawberries, wine and cheese crackers. Alternative options provided for our group who did not drink wine. The check in was really smooth and service was amazing.||Sam made us feel at home and she is a great asset to this estate. Breakfast was wonderful and the views stunning!||The rooms are spacious, we had the Luxury room and my aunt and uncle were in the one bed villa which was just gorgeous!! The views again from both the rooms were incredible.||We had lunch at Delaire Graff Estate which is just next door and had a buggy arranged for us to be picked up.||I would love to go back to the Clouds Edtate and would highly recommend this place.

Firstly, I'd like to thank Samantha for making this one of the best vacations ever! Samantha went above and beyond to assist us with making all our reservations (even very last minute ones). My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights x 4 days while on our honeymoon. This was truly an unforgettable estate. It was beautiful, quiet, and scenic as it was situated in the "Beverly Hills" of Stellenbosch adjacent to Delaire Graff. We stayed in Villa 12, which was such a cool layout, massive bed and beautiful views. The rooms were furnished with coffees, teas, snacks, fruits, and even a complimentary bottle of their 2020 red blend which was delightful! The turn down service even left us a nice surprise made of our rose pedals! So thoughtful and caring. We absolutely loved our stay here, and with it being so close to everything we were able to visit many famous vineyards in the area like Delaire Graff, Tokara, and Babylonstoren.

It’s rare a property is better in real life than in the pictures but this is one of those places. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. And don’t even get me started on the view… spectacular! We stayed in the spa room as it was going into winter so we could soak up the most stunning sunsets each day. The property is absolutely amazing and because they have limited rooms it feels so exclusive. Sam and the team looked after us so well with everything and organized some great tours for us!

Clouds Estate is absolutely stunning. We were welcomed with a glass of wine and a platter of cheese and crackers—a perfect start and totally fitting for a hotel nestled in a vineyard.||||The view from the room, overlooking the vineyards and mountains, was breathtaking. The mini bar was complimentary, and even included a full bottle of their house wine—such a generous and thoughtful touch.||||The service was amazing, attentive without being overbearing. Walking around the hotel and its vineyards is a sightseeing experience in itself—peaceful, beautiful, and so relaxing. Breakfast was made to order, which made it feel especially fresh and personal. The whole place has a luxurious charm that made it hard to leave.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The villa was marvelous with a large bed and a huge living room/kitchen. The whole premises was spotless. Samatha has hospitality in her blood. She had a geniune interest in her guest. She organized a perfect day trip with an outstanding driver for us. The restaurant serves first class dinner. We would stay at Clouds Estates anytime again.

From the moment we arrived, with a welcome smile from the security, to all the staff at Clouds, to security when we left, everybody made us feel very welcome to be there. We stayed in Room 16 Pool Suite for two nights. Everything you could need was there. A multitude of different plugs, even the hair dryer had an extension lead so you could see in the big mirror! Towels in abundance. The lighting system was on sensors and that took some getting used to. If anything the bathroom could have been a bit brighter. We ate in the Hotel for both nights. It is not fine dining but very good Bistro type food. Not a large menu but certainly enough for our stay. There is a car parking area for one car alongside the room (not visible). The view of the mountains is spectacular. Luxury but not stuffy!!
