Cloudside Hotel

A very pleasant stay in this beautifully appointed Victorian building. The staff were knowledgable, friendly & professional. They responded quickly and effectively to all requests. The room was comfortable & cosy…it was like visiting a friend or relatives’s home. I slept well on the comfortable bed, even the fold-out sofa mattress was very comfortable.

Must stay. You must stay here. Beautiful, quaint, lovely and clean. The people were super sweet and helpful. They have thought of literally EVERYTHING you could possibly need on your stay. The attention to detail here is top notch. Bed and pillows were super comfy. The location is right off of the Main Street with the best coffee shop right around the corner. |Absolute must stay in Nelson. It’s the cutest. We even had a little sun room to have coffee in off our room. There’s a back deck to have an evening glass of wine and they even provide blankets. Loved it. 10 stars

We spent a few days at this hotel, very close to downtown Nelson, and I must give credit to the staff for the overall service and the cleanliness of both the room and the hotel. Unfortunately, we did not find the room very comfortable, as it was quite small and noisy. The floor was very loud, and the heating system is a bit of a mystery—no one seems to know exactly how it works, which resulted in times when the room was cold and other times when it was too warm. The location is fantastic if you want to walk instead of using the car

We stayed for 2 nights in the summer. The hotel is charming, clean and the rooms are up to date and comfortable. The location is spectacular as it is beside a fabulous coffee shop (Oso Negro) one block from main street Nelson and a short walk to the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend this boutique hotel to friends.

My stay was such a treat!! I could not believe how close I was to downtown and walking distance to ALOT of stores and restaurants. I so appreciate that I could go and have a couple of drinks and not have to worry about driving. The room we had was a separate entrance and a nice living room to relax in upstairs. Downstairs had a nice little kitchen with all the the things a person would want for a nice tea or coffee or if I choose to cook it was equipped. A nice touch indeed! Two separate bedroom, one with 2 twins with TV and master with a queen with T.V. Perfect for friends or family. This little gem of a hotel was a perfect getaway, and I have to mention the attention to cleanliness. Walls and baseboards, curtains were clean, as everything else. Sounds little but I did appreciate that. I would not hesitate to recommend this quaint little Cloudside Hotel to anyone.

A perfect gem in the heart of Nelson. This boutique accommodation is something special. The rooms are uniquely designed with lots of natural light, perfectly created with mornings in mind. Nested amongst gorgeous landscaping and mature trees surrounding verandas off many of the rooms, the ambient landscape lighting near private room entrances made returning to the Cloudside at night feel safe and beautiful. I worked with the Cloudside to bring out of town professional partners to Nelson for an event hosted by my non-profit. Their staff made it easy for my guests to book and was very communicative and accommodating. All my guests were openly impressed by the choice of accommodation. With prices competitive to a standard hotel, many of my clients said they would choose the Cloudside over other accommodation on future trips. I look forward to working with the Cloudside again. Their high end, welcoming rooms added to the executive experience of the event. I would generously recommend staying at the Cloudside.

It was such a wonderful experience staying at Clouside Hotel. The space is charming, comfortable, so well taken care of and I loved how quiet it was for being so close to everything. The staff was warm, helpful and genuinely friendly. We enjoyed hanging out on the back deck and the beautiful gardens in the front. The location couldn't have been better and it made for a very special and relaxing stay.

I just spent 3 wonderful nights at this lovely hotel in Nelson. The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and responsive to every need and the location is perfect! Everything is within walking distance which adds to the overall enjoyment of Cloudside! I will definitely return!

Honestly one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. It was the quality of a very fine hotel with budget prices. We will be back on our next trip to Nelson. The owners are extremely accommodating and friendly. The quality of the towels and bedding were exceptional. We had a little fireplace in our room, a king sized bed AND a sunroom. I love to have a tub and my hubby loves a shower and we were both very happy with the bathroom. Don't hesitate booking this hotel as they also have 4 private parking spots which are golden in Nelson!

We has the Maple suite for one night. Cherry suite last year. Greeted by super friendly owner. Rooms are spick and span. I need a firm mattress and the bed here was awesome! Located right in the middle of downtown Nelson but super quiet at night even on the weekend . Will absolutely return again next year!

The tres Amigas stayed here in the Cherry Tree room for 3 nights. It was perfect for the three of us on a girlfriends get-away to Nelson. The location was fantastic. We walked around a lot and never got lost. It's similar to a Bed & Breakfast without the breakfast. Private rooms with private baths. Ours had a nice little kitchenette where we could fix our coffees in the mornings along with some fruit. We were able to keep our wine and cheese chilled for us in the afternoons when we'd return from our galivanting. Check-in was easy, owners very accommodating, responded immediately with my emails. The place was clean, no odors, and was well appointed. They have a great patio on top that also has umbrellas to enjoy your little happy hour. There is nothing I could add that would have made us happier. The price was just right. All 3 of us agreed we'd be back.

I never even knew this place existed, but I found them on trivago, I was in a pinch as I just moved back to Nelson and needed somewhere to quarantine so I was able to go to my regular residents where there was someone in compromised health. Chris was above and beyond with everything from the price to the service texting to check in and being flexible with me. Not to mention the tamarack apartment I stayed in for 3 weeks was beautiful, the furnishes wonderful and the view of Kootenay lake was amazing, I would recommend them to anyone so definitely check in out if your heading through beautiful Nelson bc!

We really enjoyed our stay. Sally and Chris were great and the location was perfect. Breakfast varied from day to day and was always tasty. It feels like you are staying in someone's (very tidy) house, so if your are looking for newly remodeled bathroom fixtures a la the Mariott, this isn't the place.

What a wonderful place to stay! We had the Cherry Tree rooms, which were perfect for our family of 4. Clean, well-furnished, excellent hospitality. Will stay here again the next time we are in Nelson.

I am not rich or famous or even good looking. These guys treated me like a rock star. The price was more than reasonable and the service fantastic. It felt like we were staying at a friend's place who was a bit OCD. Everything was thought out and it was all in the right place. Great beds, charming enough. Close to the downtown, but quiet enough. We emailed a few times and they took care of everything I could think of. Gluten and dairy free .. No sweat. Go here. Give them your money.

I travel a lot and it's hard to find a decent-priced hotel that is genuinely different and clearly goes beyond conventional 'front desk' service to look after its guests. There are few places like the Cloudside left. It's not a chain, it is totally first class, it's unique and locally-owned, and it's beautiful! If you want a regular mainstream hotel, there are some other OK choices in Nelson, but this is not the sort of town to go with the flow, which is why I like to flag up this place - it is individual. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast! We have had a delightful stay. Warm hospitality, delicious food, within walking distance to great quaint restaurants and shops. So much to experience, 3 days-just enough time. We will be back. Thank you Chris and Sally, lovely stay.

Delightful B&B in the centre of Nelson. It's in a beautiful old house that has been perfectly renovated. The owners, Sally and Chris, were friendly, attentive and helpful at all times. Before our stay we called Chris because our booking on booking.com was incorrect and he immediately corrected it despite the red tape that booking.com creates in such situations. Breakfast was excellent, as is the dining room, with its large table that encourages conversation among the guests -- precisely the reason for staying at a B&B instead of a chain hotel. There is parking at the rear and lots of attractions nearby. We would not hesitate to stay at the Cloudside Inn again.
