Clove Villa

We stayed for 2 nights whilst exploring Kandy for the New Year. From the moment we arrived Umesh made us feel welcome. He arranged traditional Sri Lankan meals for us, catering to our vegetarian requirements on both nights.|For both breakfast and dinner we were looked after by Danushka who was incredibly attentive. All meals were cooked fresh to order and incredibly delicious.|All the staff are friendly and helpful. We would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone staying in Kandy.

Small, comfortable and friendly hotel in a quieter area of Kandy. The food was delicious, we had different vegetarian Sri Lankan meals for two evenings sitting in comfort on the balcony. The staff were excellent in looking after us, would highly recommend.

This is a boutique hotel with only 9 rooms. It’s beautifully presented, the rooms are big and clean and the staff are awesome. Mukesh the manager is so obliging & will do anything for you. The staff are also very helpful. Cant fault this place. It’s situated in a quiet road of the main street. The gardens are clean & charming and it also has a pool. I wish we had of stayed more nights, one night is not enough.

This place is a must when in Kandy. In fact, we'd specifically want to go back to Kandy just to go to this hotel again and enjoy the peacefulness and AMAZING food. We've already been to a number of hotels and restaurants in Sri Lanka, and while we've sampled superb dishes, Umesh's talents in the kitchen remain unparalleled. Kudos, sir!! In terms of location, the hotel is easy access to the city, but also is in a calm area surrounded by sounds of birds and squirrels hopping around in the trees across. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and lux. The clove shower gel and soap were also a smart touch. Finally, the staff at any place are always a critical contributor to the overall experience. At Clove Villa, Danushka and Umesh were the clincher. Both were so polite, friendly, professional, and always ready to go above and beyond to accommodate any requests. Thank you both!

I couldn’t be more confused by the recent negative review. During our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka, this hotel was our favourite in terms of service, food and comfort. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. And we slept very well in our comfy bed and lovely clean room. The staff were so nice and setup our own table for dinner on the terrace and the same again for breakfast which was customised just for us. Thank you for the stay and making us so welcome!

We spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel which is located a few minutes away from the chaos of central Kandy. With a tasteful decor on both common spaces and room, this is the perfect place for a quiet or romantic, but definitely more ‘boutique’ experience. The staff was super nice, professional and attentive and made us feel really special. We had a great (and delicious) dinner on the terrace. Thank you again. Very recommended.

Beautiful boutique hotel,absolute opulent,nothing was too much trouble and the food was fantastic |We were also given a free upgrade as the room was vacant which is a nice touch|In a quiet area on the outskirts of Kandy.Tuk tuk around £2-3 to get into the center but as we had a private driver we did not use that|We would highly recommend
