I used doordash service I was very disappointed with the fact that deliver food was not properly secured. My drink had open lid no seal over the mouth to protect me from the delivery person. Food bag wasn't stapled or taped closed. Food completely exposed!!! You have a responsibility to cover the food properly, treat unseen customers as you would want to be treated! The only thing I was safe to enjoy was the hummus it really was delicious. The oyster mushroom sandwich was dry and lack flavor maybe extra tomatoes would have made the sandwich a success story. I'm jus a vegan trucker who doesn't get to the area often so my review don't quite matter, I like expressing myself tho😁

Google
While the food is delicious, my only complaint is they seem to skimp on portions lately. Seems like falafel has gotten smaller (?), and the last 3x I ordered it, the container of sauce that came with it was half full. Same issue with the (again, very tasty) hummus … container was about half full.

I recently visited Clover to pick up my favs for lunch from the time you walk in your greeted by friendly customer service. Today I was thoroughly impressed by how well the staff handled a volatile customer situation. The entire team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and teamwork, ensuring the safety and comfort of all patrons while resolving the issue swiftly and effectively. From the moment the situation began to escalate, it was clear that the staff had been well-trained to handle such incidents. They communicated seamlessly with one another, each taking on specific roles to de-escalate the situation and provide support. One staff member calmly engaged with the upset customer, while others discreetly ensured that other patrons were not affected and continued to receive excellent service. Their ability to remain composed under pressure was remarkable. Not only did they manage to resolve the situation peacefully, but they also did so with a level of courtesy and respect that spoke volumes about their dedication to customer service. It was evident that they prioritized the well-being of everyone involved, and their quick thinking and coordination were truly commendable. Clover should be proud to have such a capable and cohesive team. This experience has only reinforced my confidence in their commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all customers. Kudos to the Clover staff for their outstanding performance in a challenging scenario!

Google
Loved it! I chose to eat here because it just looked good and was surprised to learn that it was meat-free. I had the Verde rice bowl and my wife had the carrot sandwich and they were both soooo good. And because it wasn't greasy and filled with meat I didn't go into a food coma after which was nice. If I lived in Boston I would be a regular there.

Google
The food at the clover food lab was extremely rich in flavor! We really enjoyed all of the vegan options as well as the fun drinks. The sharan was a delicious indochinese cauliflower sandwich. The rosemary fries and tostones with chipotle aioli were extremely tasty!

Google
I just love Clover! And that new buffalo something burger is divine

Google
Really good vegetarian food. The soups use a tasty vegetable stock as the base. We also got the Verde Rice and Bean bowl and it was a hit along with the Mediterranean bowl and the Nashville Hot sandwich. The rhubarb agua fresca was a hit too! We’ve bookmarked this as a spot we’ll return to.

Google
No meat is available and pure vegetarian and vegan options are made available with good taste . All the required nutrient rich and protein diets are also made avail . They have everything including tissue paper and plate are environmental friendly and are made of plant based ..

Jessica C.

Yelp
Amazing food! And the tea was delicious. The plant based sandwiches are phenomenal. Wow. What a find.

Yelp
We stopped in as we were on our way to the airport to leave Boston. The staff were more than helpful and we were glad to have a veg option. We don't generally eat 'faux meat' as we eat meat as we want. This was really good falafel, hummus, veg, pita with zaatar, delicious tea. It was really quiet and surprisingly not busy.

Yelp
I remember going to Clover over 10 years ago at MIT and now they're all over Boston. I'm so happy there is one near my office because it's one of the healthier options. Chickpea fritter sandwich - the pita bread was soft and fluffy for the most part. It was pretty soggy towards the bottom from the vegetables. The chickpea fritter was super crispy and smaller than I remembered but still tasty. Apple soda - wasn't super sweet so I really appreciated it. The apple flavor was subtle which I was okay with. But I wish it was a little more carbonated.

K M.

Yelp
Rude and pretentious staff. My bad for asking for stevia. Just not cool enough. Could also use a deep clean.

Audrey M.

Yelp
I came in and ordered the Brussels sprout sandwich a said, "And everything is vegan here, right?" as I am a vegan. Instead of a yes or no answer or explanation, the guy at the register just said, "We don't like to use that word here," and trailed off, before eventually mumbling that it was all vegan and vegetarian. I probably should have pressed more, but I shouldn't have had to, and because of that, I wasn't told that the sandwich I ordered was not, in fact vegan. (The menu didn't have any sign to denote what was in a sandwich and differentiate between vegan and vegetarian.) I didn't realize this until I was almost done. And, because I'd had cheese, I ended up going home and feeling quite sick. The whole "we don't use that word" thing is so annoying and I'm certain that comes from upper management or the big boss themselves. This is a pretty stupid company rule and leads to too much confusion.

Jordana M.

Yelp
Good food! Have gotten catering for events and the food was yummy. Loved the pita and Mediterranean fare.

Yelp
'Twas the night before Christmas. And we just finished watching the Blink show at Quincy market. While trying to find a restaurant that was open, we came across Clover. We got there about 45 mins before they closed. We ordered the chickpea fritter sandwich and the fried mushroom. Unfortunately the person behind the counter said fried mushrooms wouldn't be possible for him to make at this time so we couldn't try that. It took about 10 min for the sandwich to be ready - we could actually hear the sizzle of the falafel being fried. We got it home and ate it after a couple of hours but it held up really well. The sandwich had purple cabbage and carrot slaw and hummus with the fried falafel stuffed inside a pita. It was so good! Game to try it again and hopefully their fried mushrooms too, it just sounds so good! Quick mention of the fact that they are quite sustainable. They do serve single use items (which I don't approve of) but at least it's all compostable. Kudos to Clover for taking this initiative, and that too since the time they started in 2010.

Stephen W.

Yelp
Visiting Boston from Tucson. My kiddo is vegan. We found this spot, and it was wonderful. Very good portions, the BBQ Seitan was delicious, and the fries are an improved version of In-n-Out style fries, clearly made from a potato fresh today. The fresh ground, pour over light blend was fantastic. Allen was a wonderful help, very friendly staff all the way around.

Yelp
"Fuuuuuuuutuuuuuure... Fuuuuuuutuuuuuure..." To paraphrase the quote from Spongebob, that's exactly how you'll feel when you're dining at Clover Food Lab. It's a truly out of this world restaurant that combines cutting edge technology with local purveyors and a sense of culinary playfulness that comes together to create a memorable and unique experience. The Boston-based mini-chain is popping up everywhere, even inside of a couple of particularly lucky Whole Foods grocery stores out in the 'burbs. MIT alum and company founder Ayr Muir surely knew what he was doing when he started out from a food truck back in 2008, and ever since then, Clover has been a leader in the Boston food scene for pioneering and championing cuisine that's as tasty as it is environmentally conscious. The Downtown Crossing location is fairly new to the Clover family, but it doesn't lack any of the precision and quality of the older locations. When you enter the rather stark space (all of the Clover locations vaguely resemble a science lab to me), you'll be almost immediately confronted with a large electronic menu that updates in real time to tell you how long each category of food will take to prepare and if anything has run out throughout the course of the day. You can also check it out online, and this can be a huge godsend if you're craving a mezze platter and have limited time for lunch, only to roll up and find they've been out the entire time. More restaurants should take a page from Clover's book and adopt the real-time menu motif. It's wonderfully helpful and very customer-friendly, and very much appreciated. I usually keep it simple at Clover, and order something that used to be on the kids' menu - the Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwich. I think so many adults ordered it that it graduated up to the big kids' table, but no matter how old you are, you'll enjoy the sweet simplicity of this satisfying sando. They also have a new and glamorous sibling to the PB&H, the Peanut Butter and Marmalade Sandwich, which I will try next time! Both are served on freshly made house pita bread, and the ultimate result is a warm, filling, and truly delicious light lunch or hearty snack. Try it with one of their house made sodas - I highly recommend the Blood Orange flavor, which is the perfect combination of tart and sweet. Like many other health food purveyors, Clover ain't cheap, but it sure is worth it. It's healthy without feeling like you could feed the stuff to your pet rabbit. It's ethically sourced without talking down to the consumer. And it's just really quirky and fun. Want to see for yourself? Sign up to attend one of their Food Development sessions in Cambridge! Not only is it a great way to eat free food, but it's also awesome to sample new menu items before they debut, and offer feedback to the company, which they actually take into consideration. It's a hidden gem experience, and a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Sign up on their website - you won't be disappointed! Clover is one of my go-to Boston restaurant stops, and I'm glad to add the Downtown Crossing location to that list!

Yelp
Came right before the lunch rush and it was pretty quiet! I was served quickly and was recommended the chickpea fritter. I also saw their french fries with rosemary, and the lady sold it to me when they say it's fried fresh. I would totally recommend the fritter! As for the fries, I guess it depends if you like skinnier fries. They weren't that crispy, which I would prefer. Rosemary gave it a nice aroma though! The service was great and they even gave me some fries to snack on until my food was ready. I'm totally going back !

Adina S.

Yelp
Been here twice, and will probably seek out this place every time I am in the Boston area from now on. This is a great stop for a filling, healthy meal. (And they have amazing pour over coffee) I've tried both the Impossible meatball platter and the chickpea fritter platter and they are delicious. This is the best experience I've ever had with impossible meat. The sides were different in the platters for both experiences. I'm not sure if that's a seasonal thing or different per plate, but the first time that I tried the impossible meatball platter, I enjoyed the sides much more. Pro tip: enjoy your hummus in your platter with warm pita. Expand outside of Boston please!

Annie B.

Yelp
This is the the place I most consistently eat at in DTX. Just got the Panelle sandwich and it was a delight! Their seasonal sandwiches, from the carrot sandwich in the winter, the parsnip sandwich in the spring, and now the Panelle are everything I've ever wanted in a sandwich. PRETTY PLEASE OPEN A CLOVER BRANCH NEAR NORTH STATION! Is is a food desert for healthy vegetarian lunch spots. I will be your most loyal fan! ---------------------------------------old review below: This place is a delight! I've now eaten the Brussels sprout sandwich 2x in the past 5 days. My physical therapists office is near this place and I went to Clover after both of my most recent appointments :) My one regret (or maybe it's a good thing cause I'd be there all the time) is that there's no way I'll ever be able to come here during my 30 minute lunch break, which means I can't come often. It's nutritious and delicious!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Great vegan options. Coffee, teas, juices as well. Prices are very good for Boston. Food comes out super fast. A few small tables to sit at, one big communal table, and a few bar seats in the back. Many pre-made grab-n-go snacks too. Definitely stop by if you need a plant-based meal or drink.

Emily W.

Yelp
Realty delicious falafel on out and a not too sweet lemonade. Fries a little soggy and under seasoned. I really appreciated there prompt service and their commitment to using compostable materials.

David L.

Yelp
I tried the fried chickpea platter, which was very good, but poorly named as it was more of a meze platter w/ some tiny falafel on the side. I really wish their menu was more descriptive of the food. If I'm going to order a few salads, I'd like to know what ingredients are going to be in the salad. Update: I applaud Clover and their management for their prompt response to my "average" review. I gave them another try - the impossible meatballs are pretty tasty and a nice "meat" substitute for non-meat eaters, although it is expensive and they are high in saturated fat despite being plant based due to the coconut oil.

Josh Y.

Yelp
Top tier pourover. I had the little wolf, the barrista's favorite. Extremely light and fruity but not too acidic. Truly excellent. Steal for $3.50. highly recommend. Educational wall about the place too. Interesting reading while you wait.

Mythili M.

Yelp
We popped in here to get away from the cold. Being vegetarian I love trying out new vegan/vegetarian places that will also hopefully satisfy my more carnivorous friends. We both ordered the sunchoke (sp?) mushroom sandwich. It was delicious and filling, and has mayo, mushrooms, onions and some type of garnish. The place was pretty empty on this Saturday night so we sat around after finishing our meals for a gab. The staff at this location were so incredibly friendly! They brought us complimentary drinks and comped us mezze bowls (hummus with small black beans, shredded cabbage, sweet potatoes, diced tomatoes and cucumbers with some sort of drizzled sauce) as well. I'm not sure if this is get this burgeoning brand off the ground, but it was cool either way. The bowls were decent and a great option for a healthy snack. I had them the next day and they still tasted fresh. This brand operates by depending on fresh foods supplies by local providers. They also apparently have vegetarian meatballs--which in my experience are usually pretty awesome so I'm excited to try that on my next visit.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER THE BREAKFAST EGG, CHEESE AND SAUSAGE SANDWICH. It is the saddest breakfast sandwich I have ever seen in my life. It's a some burnt impossible meat pieces, one piece of cheese unmelted and a soft boiled egg. What on earth!? Take a look at the photos for yourself. Oh forgot to mention it was freakin $10!!!! What on earth

Sarah L.

Yelp
I love this local chain for 2 reasons: their purpose of serving fresh, delicious local food and their friendly, efficient service. I haven't eaten their food in a few months, but I highly recommend the soups served with a side of warm pita and their addicting fries. The iced teas hit the spot too, especially in the summer.

Jowy C.

Yelp
This location got me through a lot of workouts at nearby Bar Method and I look forward to visiting again once it re-opens! Egg and Eggplant is a fave but their seasonal items are bomb! I live for sunchoke season. For now I will continue to enjoy deliciousness through their home delivery service.

Kathryn G.

Yelp
I had breakfast here this morning and it was SO GOOD. I walk by on my way to work every day and have always wanted to stop in, but haven't gotten the chance until today. Glad I did! It was just before 9 and the restaurant was pretty empty. Someone helped me to pick out my breakfast, which was really helpful since I'd never been before. I ordered the popover sandwich to go ($5.50), and it was ready pretty quickly. I was horribly disappointed when I thought they had forgotten to put an egg on it, until I realized there isn't supposed to be egg. The sandwich is so delicious but not super filling, so I will be adding an egg to it next time...then it'll be perfect. Can't wait to come back for lunch!

Cindy H.

Yelp
As with other Clovers, the food is pricey but nutritious and delicious! While this is my least favorite location given its size, the eats are up to par. This is a nice spot to get some work done since there is a bathroom as well as a number of outlets, but it gets extremely chaotic during the lunch hours and sometimes even breakfast given its location. A long line passes quickly, so don't let that hold you back from ordering. I absolutely adore their sodas, side salads, chickpea fritters, impossible meatball sandwich, and popovers! I haven't tried a lot of their other sandwiches, but the meatball is AMAZING and worth the hefty cost at least once in your life. Staff is super friendly and informative if you have trouble ordering. You can see how long it'll take to get your food as well as the calories per item up on the big board menu. Great for those on diets! You can see full nutritional information on their actual website in case you have a food allergy and/or want to see what goes into the food.

Yelp
I tried a 4 things while I attended a week long training event at the Omni Parker House hotel. 1. Chickpea Fritter sandwich 2. Breakfast Sandwich - Classic (soft boil egg, tomato, cheddar) 3. Pour Over Coffee 4. Vegetable stew Everything was excellent and I felt good about eating there. Highly recommend. Wish NY had places like this. Perfect lunch or breakfast spot.

Zehra H.

Yelp
Amazing food! I'm from Texas so I came here on a visit to Boston but I still dream about this place. It took a while for us to get our food, but they make everything fresh so I'm not complaining. I ordered the chickpea fritter sandwich with a side of rosemary fries. The sandwich was absolutely delicious, from the fresh pita right down to the perfect tahini sauce. The fries were fresh and crisp and the rosemary was an awesome touch. I can't wait to come back.

Danielle - A Pseudonym B.

Yelp
I've been here twice since the start of COVID for lunch. The service is always outstanding and the place is so clean. I always get their classic menu item the falafal wrap. I love how the falafal is crispy and the other toppings are so unique and tasty. I also got the rosemary fries. I always request extra salt because they aren't heavily salted. I feel like the employees here truly take pride in their jobs which is welcoming and refreshing these days!

Annilyn T.

Yelp
Trendy and healthy food vegetarian and even if you're not! First time at this location and it's pretty cool, The design of the place is pretty trendy and cool they have walls that are designed about blogs and information about what they are selling and for me that's really good and informative. Not only that but they have this casual ambiance. They also have soda water at the beverage area too which is a total plus! So I got a tomato and cheese sandwich and my boyfriend got the chick pea fritters platter. He loved his meal and so did I. Not sure when I'm coming back def real soon.

Alee L.

Yelp
I couldn't stay away and on a snowy day I felt like soup! So I had the Farro Mushroom Soup, which is so warm, filling and hearty! It hit the spot and had the Egg and Eggplant Platter. I really love eggplant!

Andrew K.

Yelp
Had just a moment for lunch and this place was perfect. I am not a vegetarian but have eaten here in the past at other locations. The "Impossible" was one of the best "meatball" subs I've ever had. I shared a number of other dishes with my cousin including the rosemary fries, the African peanut soup, the chickpea platter with hummus and salad, as well as the chickpea salad. Everything was spot on, it came out super quick, and if I lived in Boston I would download the app to be able to order in advance. I've heard you also get access to beta testing dishes that are not on the menu otherwise. The atmosphere is good here and it's a nice place to meet up downtown for a healthier/veggie option. Obviously it's downtown so it's not going to be cheap. My total came to just under $30 but again I shared some with a friend and given this sort of thing is not available everywhere, I'd definitely come back again!

Emily D.

Yelp
I really want to like Clover, but the last few times I've come I've had a bad customer experience. I went to the Harvard Square location a couple weeks ago and the guy making coffees just never made mine, even after I reminded him of my order multiple times. A young woman eventually stepped in and took care of it but I ended up being over charged (significantly--like $15 over) and am still working with their staff to get this corrected. I came to the Downtown XIng location tonight to pick up my farm share and decided to get dinner while here. The meal took way longer than promised to be made, which is their whole thing, and would have been fine since I wasn't in a rush expect for the fact the staff had music playing SO loud I couldn't even think. And I like to think of myself as a relatively young person who listens to music loudly myself. It was truly painful and uncomfortable and unprofessional. Hoping management turns things around soon because it is a great place for vegetarians in Boston.

Daniela L.

Yelp
In search of something quick to grab for lunch, I passed Clover and saw what appeared to be a clean and lively fast casual spot. That was enough to get me in the door. Upon reading the first few items projected on the screens against the wall, I realized that this was a vegetarian place. The BBQ seitan sandwich caught my attention, mostly because I love the smokiness of barbecue sauce. Served in Clover's own freshly baked pita, the sandwich was held together quite well. In addition to the seitan, it included caramelized onions, lettuce, and sliced tomatoes. I could have done without the (vegan) mayonnaise, but the barbecue sauce did not disappoint. Although there was a little too much sauce for a single sandwich, the pita prevented a big mess. I stopped by this location a second time before leaving the area, and will definitely return during future trips to Boston to try some of the Mediterranean options on the menu.

Jenan A.

Yelp
Well the size of the "chickpea fritter" has shrunk along with the bread roll thing. And yes, we are told they've maintained price but I'd rather have the price increased for something that was good and which I enjoyed Why o why did I give it one more try!

Hannah H.

Yelp
Excellent spot. I've been here three times this week for breakfast. I've ordered the hot oatmeal, the overnight oatmeal, and the classic breakfast sandwich. All were vegetarian and delicious. The only thing to look out for is the breakfast sandwich pita won't be hot. More like room temperature.

Charles P.

Yelp
If i could give it zero stars i would. My breakfast sandwich had a piece of paper in it with eggshells. Coffee was luke warm. Bread was stale. Price $25.... Never again. Oh ..and the wait was 30 minutes.....no one else ahead of us. Maybe if the hostess has nails that were shorter than her fingers this might have been better, but i doubt it.

Whitney H.

Yelp
They offer free carbonated water. Food is fresh and on the healthier side. The cantaloupe agua fresca is refreshing and sweet, but not sweet in a fake way. the sandwhich was a huge serving and I couldn't finish it.

Mike K.

Yelp
You don't give water cups because they are "bad for the environment", but somehow the paid drinks are ok for the environment (read: generate revenue.) The customer service is entitled and rude. Hey you're food is good though! As long as you don't want it on one of those bad for the environment pesky plates. Edit from your response: if you can't afford to give out an $0.08 water cup on a $15 meal ($26+ between the two of us) there might be a problem with your model...at the very least your priority isn't on the satisfaction of your customers. Every other restaurant can find a way to give free water to those that don't want a juice. We were explicitly told no water, and the reason was "sustainability". Schemes to increase profit under the guise of environmentalism, that simultaneously upset your customers wont last in the long run. I appreciate you having sample cups to quench our thirst, but we obviously weren't offered, and chose to buy a $3 ginger drink in a plastic/pla cup. Best of luck. I hope you keep an open mind to change based on your customers comments, instead of focusing on witty review comebacks.

Angie S.

Yelp
I appreciate the culture Clover has cultivated about healthy eating and sustainable food, but the company would be well-served to put that same level of focus into cultivating a safe environment for its workers. This morning, I watched a manager at Clover DTX openly yell at his staff who were struggling with the roll-out of a new menu item (the Just Egg sandwich). They were making mistakes and were struggling with some confusion around when orders were supposed to be vegan or not, and he responded with aggression and anger, yelling at them openly. Clover employees get paid very little and are on their feet for hours -- managers shouldn't add insult to injury by reprimanding them openly, especially in front of customers.

Kelsey M.

Yelp
This place was killer and a little weird in all the right ways. Quick note: this place is vegetarian, so meat lovers move on. Also, the food is non-traditional. Those looking for a safe, easy deli sandwich: this might not be the place for you either. This place likes to experiment with foods and flavors -- which makes for a unique (and tasty!) experience. I stumbled upon this place on a trip to Boston with my mom and was grateful that I did. First off, I love the business model behind this place. The idea of an ever-changing menu to match what foods are in season is wonderful. It guarantees that the food is always fresh and at its prime. My mom and I played it safe on our first trip here by ordering the chickpea fritters -- and they were fantastic! Quite large and filling, too. They were filled with falafel and lots of wonderful veggies. My only small complaint was there was a little too much sauce for my liking but that can be easily be addressed by requesting a light amount of sauce next time. We also tried the rosemary fries. We didn't actually order any fries and I am not sure if the sandwiches normally come with fries. It's possible that the guy who took our order (who we spoke with at length and was incredibly kind) might have been nice and added an order for free. Regardless of how we got the fries, they were delicious! Well-cooked and flavorful. Other reviewers have mentioned difficulty with service as an issue with this location. We didn't have that problem at all. In fact, the man taking our order was helpful and friendly. Since it was our first time there, he provided great advice that allowed my mom and I to better navigate through their somewhat large menu. That being said, we weren't there during peak lunch hours, so the restaurant was not as hectic. Overall, if you're looking for something a little out of the box, this place is worth a look! Will definitely be coming back if I'm ever in the Boston area again.

CJ H.

Yelp
Healthy interesting tasty food with a twist Absolutely loved the fries with rosemary.

Dave M.

Yelp
I love the friendliness of the staff here. I walked in and was instantly greeted by friendly servers behind the counter. I order my pour over coffee and enjoyed every last drop. I also enjoyed that they had water available to fill up our bottles. Cold, room temp or CO2. Definitely will hit this place up again when in town. I'd love to try their food. They are located along the freedom trail right after the first school ground and before the first library.

Yelp
Ok so I work across form the Common and when Clover had a truck there it was my favorite place to go! My favorites were the zucchini sandwich and the chickpea fritter sandwich. It was kind of a Zen experience. The truck staff was jovial, would explain things and chat, and you got your food quickly and could then seat under a tree and it was all a very peaceful lunch. I took all my friends there and raved about Clover constantly. Well NOT so at the brick and mortar store. This is my 2nd time going in. I did not review it the first time because I thought it was fluke, but now I know it is not. What an un Zen like experience! Pandemonium, disorganization, and rude staff. The sandwiches, fries, and drinks are being made by three different people who are not timing anything, so you have to wait while your meal comes up one part at a time. By the time my fries were ready my sandwich was cold and soggy and gross. My coworkers watched a girl drop a drink and the staff looked at her like it was her fault. I thought I heard my name called and when I asked if the food sitting on the counter was mine I was snapped at by the person working that station. Hint: skip the loud music- we cant hear the staff and they can't here themselves. This was a stressful unpleasant experience, and very disappointing.

Malinda I.

Yelp
Good solid quick meal. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Cool concept, prices are good, and it's quick and easy to order. Casual place to come in if you are on the run. Good internet. Tip: they have gluten-free options. Ever evolving menu. Overnight oats GF (served cold with peanut butter and banana)- 4 out of 5 - $5.14 *hearty without being heavy Parfait GF (yogurt with rhubarb compote and granola) - 3 1/2 out of 5 - $5.14 *compote was tart and interesting in a good way Coffee (medium roast George Howell) 3 out of 5 - $2.81 each *coffee was not rich enough in flavor for us Rating 4 out of 5 (really 3 1/2) but they don't give half stars so I rounded up because they are worth trying.

Bertilla M.

Yelp
If you can wait til they open at 8a, it's probably the best breakfast option in town. Finding food in the downtown/financial district area is not an easy task. Most places are either priced for expense accounts, or they're not open when you want to eat (early morning and weekends). I was staying at the Omni Parker House and really appreciated having Clover across the street. The popover sandwich, which came with tempeh bacon, was great. Pour over coffee was always a sight for sore eyes. We also grabbed a quick dinner the day before. We very much enjoyed the BBQ Seitan Platter, the Chickpea Fritter (aka mini falafel) Platter, and the ginger soda and kumquat soda. Service from both shifts was friendly and helpful. My only gripe about many of these food truck origin restaurants is that they don't move away from the deposal-ware. With a brick-n-mortar location, let's do some dishes. Reusable cups and plates and silverware have to be more eco-friendly than any bio-degradable options.

Vinati K.

Yelp
Clover -- so delicious. Back in my day you could get Clover for $6 and a small wait next to their truck. Now it costs more (understandably) to eat indoors at a super popular place. Such is the cost of their success. Most recently their breakfast popover was my meal of choice. As always it lived up to their standard of deliciousness. Hard to go wrong with anything off their menu here. Would I cough up $12 for lunch every day? Maybe not. But also maybe yes -- because I love Clover.

Yelp
Clover Food Lab ... Oh, how tasty and delectable you are. I waited far too long before trying Clover - I could never find the food truck so when this brick and mortar spot opened up, I knew I'd finally get to try what people were raving about! I came for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and managed to get in before the crowd. I ordered the chickpea fritter sandwich with the blood orange lemonade to wash it down. The sandwich was MASSIVE - stuffed pita full of delicious falafel, carrots, hummus, feta, and pickled cabbage. It took two hands to hold the sandwich but every single bit was delicious. I cannot wait to go back to Clover Food Lab and try some of their other tasty menu items. I love that they use fresh, local produce and natural products.

Yelp
This place is delicious! I always go for the same dish, which is the Chickpea Fritter Sandwich. It's my favorite along with their fries. I also try to have their soup of the day, which always seems to be delicious. On top of this I always without fail get amazing customer service. The employees enjoy being there and you can tell. They are funny and cater to your personality. It is a little bit pricey, but if you love food price does not matter! I will say even if you are not a vegan I will assure you will enjoy this place. (I'm not a vegan, but I'm a foodie and my main goal is to leave satisfied!)

Yelp
Went here for lunch and it was amazing. You order at the counter. Nothing but vegetarian food. Since it was sightly chilly, I ordered the butternut squash soup that was great!!! It got served in a coffee cup, which was perfect. You get quite a nice serving for only 3.50. I decided to also have an egg& eggplant platter which was basically grilled eggplant, hard boiled egg, hummus, small amount of Israeli salad, farro salad and tahini. It was so good. In Israel there is a traditional food called sabich and that's what it tasted like (sabich is fried eggplant with tahini, hard boiled egg and salad). Yum!!! I may eat there again before I leave Boston

Yelp
The thing I want most when traveling (well, after a bedbug-free hotel room), is somewhere within five minutes of the hotel where I can get a good cup of coffee and a decent breakfast. And did Clover Food Lab deliver! I suspect the unconventional name and austere industrial aesthetic confuses potential customers. In the several days that I patronized them, it seems like befuddled people would walk in, and out, without ever realizing the menu was on the flat screen TVs. Which is a shame, because the simple, austere menu conceals excellent, tasty fare. I'm particularly in love with the granola, yogurt, & fruit compote, which in the two days I ordered it had a lovely pear compote topping the first day, and an equally good mix of apples and cranberries the next. Restaurants often go months (or years) without changing their menu, so to encounter one that does so daily is both relatively unprecedented, and exceptionally rewarding. My hotel was bedbug-free but otherwise mediocre, but I would consider staying there again the next time I was in Boston simply so I could be assured that my coffee and breakfasts were from Clover Food Lab.

Yelp
Hipster heaven! Someone was always standing by the menu to help explain things. He mentioned they were beginning to install some beer varieties. The menu itself was full of vegetarian goodies and local foods. Super hip. We were only there for drinks, so I got a mango lassi soda. Fizzy, carbonated, and not overly much like yogurt. It was very delicious.

Yelp
Amazing vegetarian/vegan food! If I lived in the area I would come here for lunch all the time. Had the BBQ Seitan sandwich. So good! That bbq sauce is gold. Also had their blood orange soda. Perfect meal that wasn't too heavy. The employees were nice and answered a couple questions I had. Next time I'm in Boston I have to come back and try more.

Yelp
Clover has since addressed many of the issues I experienced in my original review. To-go packaging has improved markedly (they provide closed containers for oats, grits, etc., and have accommodated my occasional requests for additional eggs or changes to a menu item. They also now are offering a nice selection of locally roasted coffees via pour over. Thank you for listening to your customers and making improvements. For those of you looking for vegetarian fare, a delicious breakfast, or locally roasted pour over, this is the place for you!
