This resort truly helped me unwind after a full year of nonstop work. It’s peaceful here, and my family and I really enjoyed our stay. There are plenty of restaurants inside, and the food tastes great! The whole place is clean, and you can even enjoy some drinks and go for a swim. The pool water is very clean, too. We’ll definitely come back! Highly recommended!

If you’re looking to take a breather from city life, Club Balai Isabel offers a solid escape. The place has a great view of Taal Lake — can’t beat having your morning coffee with that kind of backdrop. It's peaceful, wide open, and you can actually feel yourself slow down a bit. The rooms are decent. Not five-star fancy, but clean, spacious, and comfortable enough after a long day out in the sun. Some parts of the property could use a little upkeep, but nothing that ruins the experience. Staff are friendly and helpful — the kind that won’t hover but will assist when needed. Food’s okay, a bit on the pricey side, but it saves you the trouble of heading out. There are pools, spots to chill, and enough space to just walk around and clear your head. Bottom line? If you're after a relaxed weekend with a great view and a laid-back vibe, Club Balai Isabel delivers. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done — and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

This is one of the most popular resorts of you want to view Taal Volcano. I went here for a breakfast buffet and though it's underwhelming, I visited the grounds and have a good time. The place is large and there so many activities. My favourite here: the lotus pond and the church. Overall with so many activities you won't be bored here.

Initially as an English man, I have to state that this resort is not recommended for British people and many other nationalities. The water supply in the bathroom has an extremely high levels of chlorine and you can smell this on entry to the main room, not just the bathroom. When brushing your teeth you can taste chlorine, therefore you need to buy bottled water, just to brush your teeth. The rooms are very dated, dull and does not give a vibrant feel. You are paying for the looks of the resort, the bright blue sparkling pool, the beautiful lake to paint over the poor state in general. The drains on the walkways/roads, look closely and you can see they are full of dead leaves instead of clearing and cleaning. The small pools beside the swimming pool and other small feature pools are dirty and full of algae, poor maintenance. Breakfast, extremely poor understanding what a non filipino looks for at the breakfast table. Dont understand simple tasks such as a cup of tea, black tea and milk. Request of toast is difficult to grasp, having to continuously ask for a knife to eat. Nothing good to say to be honest. Would never stay there again and it is like the owners and management are advertising something they cannot provide. Sure you will look at the thousands of filipinos whose reviews are the opposite to mine but the needs and expectations are different for other nationalities...

Price: The price was really affordable for the value and the amazing view. We stayed for only ₱6,000-₱8,000 (I can't quite remember the exact amount), which was a great deal. Location: The resort is easy to find, located right along the highway, so you won't miss it. It offers a great view of Taal Lake, which is a major highlight. 4.5/5 Would love to stay here again!!

Not Worth It — Avoid This Place We booked online and paid via card, but when we arrived, we were told the payment didn’t go through and had to pay again. Their website apparently doesn’t work, and no one tells you until you’re already there. Our booking included free breakfast and two massages for 3 adults and 1 child. We bought an extra massage, but they claimed we only had one. Same thing happened with the breakfast—we had to argue with staff until a manager sorted it out. They even charged half the buffet price for our 4-year-old, who barely eats. The room smelled like sewage even though no one had used the toilet. It was as if we were inhaling someone else’s bathroom exhaust. Massage was basic and uninspired. The pool was murky and dangerously slippery. Definitely not worth the price. Don’t be fooled by the photos—stay somewhere else if you want a stress-free getaway.

Peaceful and quiet but dated. For the affordable price it’s reasonable to set your expectations lower. Can’t complain much for what I got vs. What i paid for. Pros: 1. Food is affordable and taste is great. 2. Staff were friendly and helpful. 3. The lake view is stunning 😍 4. Got our room for a very affordable price (₱7,000/ $140) for 4 adults with breakfast Cons: 1. Rooms need to be cleaned thoroughly. 2. Bathroom and kitchen equipment needs to be updated. No telephones in rooms 3. The resort’s amenities need to be maintained. 4. Pier Restaurant is closed damaged by a certain typhoon. 5. Resort needs to be developed and modernized to be more convenient and exciting

We had the nice view, good view and best customer service. There was no available room for us when we went to the front desk but the available room was a little expensive. The front desk gave us a discount. |We enjoyed our entire stay! It's remarkable experience for my kids!

Yelp
#FlashbackFriday - Remembering my hometown... and my parents... This is not a five- or four-star resort for sure, but for the most part, Club Balai Isabel is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila. I was born in a nearby town not too far from here and I'm proud to be 100% Batangueño. During our last vacation, we booked 4 rooms via Agoda and spent a few days here with my side of the family. Located at the north shore of Taal Lake, this nine-hectare (~ 22 acres) resort offers a photographic view of Taal Volcano (and the lake, too!) (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/DwZtNGnANNk1FN6jM6QQQw?select=-Ui3uOM6tCEk0OxMOdPr6A). Incidentally, we're talking about the smallest active volcano in the world and the second most active in the country, last erupting on 01/2020. However, there were no evident signs when we went here. With three pools and a variety of water activities to choose from, chilling by the lake and waiting for the sun to rise and set was also an option. It wasn't busy when we arrived, but there was a day when a couple of team-building events were held in both their indoor and outdoor facilities. We watched our kids, nephews, and nieces enjoy a couple of the towable inflatable rides - the "Banana Boat" (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/DwZtNGnANNk1FN6jM6QQQw?select=32DQ8uoSvx6U3yYXMOf98w) went smoothly while the "Flying Fish" (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/DwZtNGnANNk1FN6jM6QQQw?select=6qGssjTtOH7v7A5gNpvJlA) barely had liftoff because they were probably too heavy. There were boat tours to the crater which I've done many years ago, but we decided to skip it because it could easily take half a day to complete. With the lake and volcano as our backdrop, we took plenty of photos by the pool next to the restaurant. We had a couple of chairs for my parents and we took turns flanking them. Of course, there were a million scenarios on who needs to be where but the old folks did not seem to mind... eventhough they were baking under the hot sun. A month after our vacation, my father passed. Seven months later, my mother followed suit. They lived together for 51 years, but those seven months were probably too much for them to bear that the One above decided to bring them back together again... for eternity. Club Balai Isabel turned out to be our last hurrah with my parents. While this place will forever have a special place in my heart, I gave it four stars because we did have a pleasurable respite here. The staff were friendly and we did not have any issues with security either. Our rooms had a view of the volcano and the lake so I didn't even have to go far for some perfect photo opportunities. Can't go wrong with an overlook like that...

Yelp
Beautiful resort with the view of Taal Volcano, friendly staff, great farm to table food, and lots of amenities for the entire family to enjoy. Definitely a recommended place to visit if your in town.

Yelp
I had the best time here with my family!!! My cousins had been here before and told me all about the aqua park so I was pretty excited. We had a group of about 20 people and we all enjoyed our stay. We received a block of rooms next door to each other except for one, which we requested be on the first floor because we had our grandparents with us and didn't want them to have to go up three flights of stairs given that there's no elevators. There's two pools. One is very large and located at the beach right next to the aqua park. All the other water sports activities are located there too. I highly recommend playing on the aqua park!!! It's SO fun for people of all ages. They provide you with life jackets and they even have employees there to help you with each obstacle or help you out of the water and stuff. Perfect for those with small kids. There's lots of mini slides, climbing walls, tunnels, and other things. They even have big floaties shaped like swans with trampolines in the middle. But there were two main attractions: the human launcher and the giant slide. The human launcher is just that: one person lays on one side of a half-inflated platform while another person (or two people depending on how big you are haha) jump on the other side, launching the first person into the air! The giant slide is about maybe 50 feet tall or more. You can slide down in pairs, like I did with my baby cousin. Being there during sunset is so pretty and you can see the Taal volcano in the distance. Don't forget to wear a rash guard to protect your skin!! And go pros are allowed in! The second pool is on the other side of the hotel. It's located right outside of the restaurant, which features a dinner buffet. They also had live music the night we were there. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because hotel service was quite slow. When checking in, it took quite a long time to get one of our rooms because there was an issue with one of the reservations. Also, one of our bathrooms were accidentally locked from the inside so we had to call the front desk to send help and no one came until nearly an hour later.

Yelp
Beautiful view. Astounding scenery. And that's all there is to it. Would give zero star if possible. It's a surprisingly disappointing stay. Booked three premier rooms for the family and for the price, it was so not worth it. You could get that view for free at Tagaytay. The fridge was rusty and moldy. There was a hornets nest at the corner of our veranda, molds at the beams and unswept corners. The pool towels looked like rags, my kid refused to use it and instead braved the cold air going to our room in this god forsaken place. I could see that it used to be a great place to relax but whoever manages it now and maintains it totally FAILED and let it go to waste...such a waste. The cleaning crew were joking and fooling around throughout the afternoon and waste and garbage were left at the front veranda. Sad and totally disappointing. TOTALLY NOT RECOMMENDED. NEVER AGAIN.

Yelp
This is probably the worst resort . They over charged my credit card , I pointed out the issues I encountered during my stay , the front desk " promised " to notify the manager on duty and it's been months , I have not heard any apologies or anything from management . It's sucks I'm an RCI member as well , however I paid the full price , that is not even worth the value .

Yelp
Poor security. Lots of security guards but they are not guarding your rooms they just walk around. NO CCTVs. We lost a lot of gadgets, money, and jewelries. They ruined our vacation. Not going back here even if it's free.

Yelp
Club Balai Isabel is a beautiful lake-side resort that would be perfect for laid-back, relaxing family vacations. If you and your family are extreme sports enthusiasts and you enjoy diving, spelunking, cliff diving, and all that kind of stuff, you might want to sit this one out. Club Balai is a lot quitter, and a lot calmer than that, but that's precisely what's so great about it. You really come here for a breather, and to kind of detoxify yourself from all the stress of work or school. To me, the best attractions of the resort is the food and the massage services. Their food is EXCELLENT morning to evening. Forget your diet when you're here. You'll start the day with a hearty buffet breakfast and end it with succulent dinners. As regards the massage services, the resort offers room massages and ones that are performed in their spa facilities, so you can really customize your experience based on what makes you relaxed. They don't have a beach, but the lake breeze is refreshing enough to set the mood of your entire, relaxing stay. Overall, Solid B.

Yelp
A beautiful resort with a gorgeous view of Taal. The place is very well kept and the staff are very friendly. You won't go wrong with this place.

Yelp
I actually had booked this on Agoda (my confirmed stay and review is there). if I could give this NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!! HEre is my Agoda confirmed stay review : "I must admit, this is my first ever bad review of any hotel, and this one should have a negative star rating. I travel a lot around the world and I am quite flexible especially when it comes to cultural barriers and communication issues. This hotel is the worst I have ever went to and also paid 4000 php ($100) for my room in a so-called 4.5 star hotel (a $100 hotel in Philipines island is 90 percentile cost). The location has a Run down. decrepit. rude staff. No Wifi. Food selection slim. on wifi..reception answer is "we dont know since when nor when it will be fixed, sorry , no internet". Pool tables are 50 years old and balls look like the Moon craters and you have to pay per hour. Want to ride a bicycle (extra cost)? We go to the rental area : nobody there. It's 2pm. I go to reception... they confirm someone there... I go back. nobody. sorry, the bicycle rental is a concession sir. we want a massage. nobody at spa. also a concession. TERRIBLE DUMP."
