The Best All-inclusive Resorts in the Bahamas

"A recently reopened (October 2022) 89-acre oceanfront resort on San Salvador Island offering a quieter, off-the-beaten-path experience with postcard-worthy turquoise-water views. Extensive renovations refreshed the property; land and water sports are included—tennis, Wingfoil (a combination of windsurfing and kiteboarding), yoga, snorkeling, kayaking, and sailing among them—and programming includes two restaurants and three bars. The property emphasizes active, all-inclusive experiences with rates from $200 per person, per night. Gratuities are included and restaurant reservations are not generally required." - Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman is a New York-based writer and editor who specializes in travel, lifestyle, food, and shopping content. This is a wonderful resort, my favorite Club Med in the Caribbean! The beach is absolutely stunning, truly a piece of paradise.||If you enjoy tennis, I can’t recommend the tennis center enough: it’s the best we’ve experienced. Andrea was the best coach, incredibly professional. We also really enjoyed meeting the British coach (I wish I could remember his name!). They all made our stay even more enjoyable.||A special shoutout to Max from the entertainment team. He is so fun! ||The only downside was that we arrived on reopening day. Even though there were only a few guests at first, I would have appreciated the same level of food quality and entertainment offered once the resort filled up.

I had such a wonderful time during my stay! The entire experience was so enjoyable from start to finish. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made everything feel effortless. A special shoutout to Andrea, who was an incredible tennis instructor — patient, knowledgeable, and so much fun to learn from. His positive energy and lovely personality truly added to the whole experience.

We took a jet ski tour and this is the best experience we’ve had on our trip. Mathieu and Manolo were very professional and fun! It was our first time on a jet ski tour, but we felt very safe. The water was amazing and we had the chance to see iguanas on the island! Beautiful and we will definitely be back!

We had never joined staff on the opening week of a Club Med, and our experience was wonderful. With only 3 flights into the island per week, we had the resort nearly to ourselves for a few days, and enjoyed the literal calm before the storm (Melissa). The land sport team was super fun and we had a lot of fun with Chrisa, Andrea, Jezalyn, and Marvin. Kyle was super at the pool, and the amenities and food met and exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been here for two weeks. I never saw such an amazing coastline. This club is now my favourite 😍The food was great. The GO’s were amazing. You can play tennis or all kinds of water sports go to yoga class diving around the island or snorkelling with baby sharks ❤️definitely gonna come back.

Club Med San Salvador Island ( Columbus isle) resort had a flight the day before Hurricane Melissa was due to hit the island. The government of Bahamas was evacuating people off the area islands but what did Club Med do? Force a plane load of guests to the island. I understand the plane going the day before to pick up guests but also bringing new ones when the island, in all scenarios, was going to be severely impacted. Is that a vacation?? That should be illegal really. ||I told them I wanted to reschedule and they originally told me it would cost me an additional $4000 to change dates since their plane was going as Air Canada didn’t cancel the flight (to get people out of danger). |After a few calls and so much wasted time waiting on hold, I was able to reschedule for a few weeks later for $867 instead of $4000 above the vacation cost I had already paid. I switched dates and rescheduled. |They called me after the hurricane and said that the storm hit the resort and there was so much damage that the resort is now closed till the new year. They wanted to reschedule me again but I insisted to get all my money back this time. |Finally, I got all the money back. However, their decision to force guests down to an island that is in the path of a major hurricane despite the governments of Bahamas and Canada putting out an avoid all non-essential travel to this specific island and the other area islands is indefensible. Glad I held firm on not going but more concerned about other guests that could not afford to reschedule. Sad. ||I’ve been going to various Club Meds since the 80s and such policies clearly show that Club Med has lost its focus caring for their guests and priorise profit over safety.

Absolutely gorgeous & breathtaking view everywhere. The water color is something you'd see in a magazine. The Chief of Village More was beautiful inside and out and was everywhere. She loves her job & it shows. We saw her daily & she always stopped to talk to us. The GO staff was so friendly & fun. For being opening week they did a great job. Starting with Reception Team - Stephen, Miriam, Lea & Anna. Super helpful at all times. Bar Team always serving with a smile & never bothered by anyone. Thank you Joy, Manu, Stevenson, Lucky, Tania, Fernando, Edson & Manuel. Sports team was great - loved the daily AquaGym - Sports GO's - Merou, Dylan, Kyle, Andrea, Marvin & Adrian. We highly recommend the K Scooter tour with Jerry the amazing guide. Learned so much about island. Ya Ya the Excursion Manager is fun & helpful. Sailing Team was great - Behruz, Sasha, Luke & Merou. The Armada was challenging w/no wind but fun. We were there for our 25th Anniversary & treated so special. We met so many new friends and GO's. I can't say enough about Club Med Columbus Isle.

I can’t say enough about Mor (chief) and the entire club med team!!! Cristy, Tristen, Kyle, Jezalyn, Andrea, Robert, I can’t remember all of the names but each one Spoiled us the entire trip! Mor was everywhere. Any requests were addressed immediately! Beach, there isn’t anything better, pool fun, games had us laughing and sailing was perfect. We come several times a year and have never been disappointed! (Why we keep coming back)!!!||Tips for packing: your own plastic straw, they don’t give out disposable straws so to keep GREEN. Bug spray for sunset time! And a Stanley or the like so you can have water, etc at your fingertips. (Also good to keep your beer cold).||Already booked our next trip there!
