Club Med Valmorel Chalets - French Alps

We had a truly beautiful time at Club Med Chalet Valmorel, a place full of charm, kindness, and smiles.||A huge thank you to the entire team, whose warmth and energy made our stay unforgettable. Special thanks go to Alexandre, who took such great care of us and always made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. besides problems at reception as booked rrooms were not available when we checked in, found dirty underwear between bed sheets on arrival. Overcrowded, meaning that pools are not big enough to handle the crowd, kids had to be on waiting list for excursions with their age club. Excellent buffets though, but overall, a BIG disappointment

We had an amazing experience overall. But this review pertains specifically to one of our ski instructors. There are good ones and some not so good. Ours was one of a kind. We had the absolute best experience with our ski instructor, Hugo. He was incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and caring from start to finish. Hugo literally saved me—he held my hand through every step, making sure I felt safe and supported the entire time. When another girl in our group got hurt, Hugo didn’t hesitate to carry both of us down the mountain, never leaving our side for a moment. He showed that same level of care and dedication to everyone in the group. On top of that, Hugo speaks multiple languages—French, English, Portuguese, and probably more—which made communication so easy and comfortable for everyone. He also has an amazing sense of humor that kept the whole group relaxed and laughing, even when things got tough. His patience, kindness, and professionalism were beyond anything we could have hoped for. Hugo is truly the best, and we feel so lucky to have had him as our instructor. Highly recommend!

Excellent! Congratulations to all the staff ( and of course the manager ) for making this place truly unique: friendly and chic without overdoing it! Food is superb and always available. Evening shows are most enjoyable. Spa is clean and pleasant. I have also enjoyed the ski resort of Valmorel. The ski facilities are almost inconspicuous and allow nature to be at its best! I strongly recommend this ClubMed for those who like simplicity and nature whilst having a great service.

This was the first time staying at Valmorel although the third Club Med this ski season. The food in this hotel reminded me of Club Med of many years ago when we first stated to ski with them. A good choice of dishes and quality was better than the 2 other Clubs I stayed at this season. It was good to be reminded how a visit to Club Med used to be like.||Also Jonathan the Chief d Village always welcomed us into the restaurant every evening||I liked the addition of several communal ‘quiet’ places in this Club Med which appears to be lacking from other hotels in the chain. The Hotel was only half full when we stayed so was difficult to know what the service would be like when full but we had no problems during the week. The bedroom was comfortable, well laid out and spacious, however there was very limited storage for clothes.

We had an amazing services with Adam DOUVILLE . He was really appreciable and helpful. His actions made the stay really enjoyable. The club med is incredible, i loved the spa and the ski was amazing, the snow were perfect to ski and a big thank you to all the GO who helped us and make this week amazing.

We chose Clubmed Valmorel for our first skiing holiday and to celebrate our son’s 10th birthday. I’m so glad we did; it was exceptional.||All the staff were friendly and helpful, but a special shout out to to the kids club Julien and Kevin and ESF staff Damian M, Joel, Tom D, Philippe, Laurent, Tomas, Jean-Baptiste. The help of the kids club with the ski equipment etc was fundamental for making the trip a stress free time for us as parents. We actually got time together as adults and to learn ourselves. ||Trust the ski process. Every day we progressed and they made it eventful and an experience. They really want to help. And safety is paramount which I appreciated. We were able to move groups to get the right fit and bond with the instructors all week. ||The private ski lessons were worth the effort. We hired two instructors on our son’s birthday and they took the four of us out on the slopes to celebrate. Memories to last a lifetime. My son had an extra one too on the free day and Damien was really flexible and helpful for us. My son really respected him. ||The development of the children in one week is astounding. The presentation on the last evening was so lovely and exciting. All the kids were beaming and now have their booklets ready for next years assessments. ||The food was the best I’ve had at a buffet. Breakfast at the a la carte was good too and the service was great. The hotel schedules were busy and something for everyone. The swimming pool and hot tub was nice for a change. ||The shuttle bus around Valmorel is reliable and a great add to get around. The local village is really worth a visit. Very quaint. We had a drink in a pub and dinner at La table du Berger.||The ski room and organisation of the lockers was excellent. They’ve thought of everything. If you do the pre check in everything is there when you arrive but you can switch if you need to. ||The watsapp service and app were so easy too. You never see piles of people at reception.||One thing to note you don’t get dressing and gowns and slippers outside of the exclusive collection.||I don’t like to return to the same place twice, but I’m torn whether to come back next year to master the slopes and know we’re getting 5* treatment or go to another club med.

Pros: Ski lessons for any level( 1st time begginer -> high level skier), the ski teachers are really nice and patient. Insane selection of food and deserts: every day the food changes. Great location Free shuttle to near places( cable cars, places in the town) Great service: you can order stuff you need to the room with the club med app and the staff are really nice Clubs for kids and teens Events: poker nights, karaoke nights, tea time, shows, mini club events and more Cons: The bath: The toilet has different room for it, being really small. The bath itself has temperature and flow issues, always changing from hot to cold by itself, the bath is kind of high and inconvenient. There are some rooms where the WI-FI doesn't work there, always disconnecting and just being almost unusable(Only some rooms are like this from my knowledge and at the lobby it's good). Overall, the club med is really good and recommended!

Its our first day at clubmed valmorel with our 5year old daughter, and it was the worst experience for now! We waited more than 2 hours at the airport for the hotel transfer, standing up, in front of the exit door, because they were saying the bus is coming in a sec everytime we asked, so we couldnt go to a restaurant or anywhere else. Then they called us, but we waited more than 40 mins outside, in freezing weather with our child because the bus still wasnt arrived! Even though they called us to outside. At last we arrived to the hotel, the day was gone, but again we waited more than an hour at the lobby at 5pm, because room wasnt ready.. Finally we are in our room but its been another hour since we are waiting for our luggages... They are claiming to be childfriendly, is this the service that'll help to parents.. worst start of a holiday. Disappointing :(

Great location for family vacation in the mountain : we stayed 8 days during summer time and enjoyed hiking with great guides and bicycling, participated to the village activities : aqua gym, football tournaments, etc Everything is done to make the stay perfect: cocktails around the corner during hiking, wine and coffee during hiking day, barbecues around the pool, etc Our daughter tried the petit club for the week and it was also a great experience for her! Finally the food was quiet good and the restaurant the Laiterie fantastic. This is a great place to stay in summer if you love hiking or bicycling in the mountain, with friends and family. All the staff was nice and helpful !
