Yelp
This is a 3 star property. I know they call it a resort but without a restaurant, bar, housekeeping, no real activities or entertainment and only one small pool, I don't think it's fair to use the word resort. However, this is a nice place to stay especially if you plan to spend the bulk of your time visiting the theme parks. We initially rented a 1 bedroom condo after being told that no 2 bedrooms were available the week we planned to visit. Upon entry into the unit, there was a very small hotel like room off the kitchen and the adjourning door was wide open. It had a small bathroom, small closet off the bathroom, a TV, 2 double beds, and almost no room to move around. The rest of the condo had a full kitchen (with utensils, pots, pans, plates), a dining area with a large table big enough for 6 chairs, a small living room with a pull out couch and a loveseat and TV, a small screened porch off the living room, a large bedroom with a king bed and a jetted jacuzzi tub, and a small bathroom. We called the front desk hoping they had moved us to a 2 bedroom but found out that hotel room is a separate unit and someone could possibly be staying in it (basically only a door between our kitchen and their hotel room) all week. I was not down for thinking about my child (or us for that matter) listening to what may be happening in that room - particularly after seeing some potential/ alleged "ladies of the night" sauntering through the parking lot- so I asked to rent it for the week. The manager told me it was not available the first night but we could get it for the following 6 nights for $271 so I slapped over my credit card and said, "Hell, yes!" 2 small disappointments with this: (1) although we called and asked the office to unlock the adjourning room doors while we were at Disney, they didn't so we came home at midnight to an inaccessible extra room. However, my husband tracked down security and the guard was great and helped us into our room immediately and (2) no one slept in that side room on night one so we could've easily had it all 7 nights. Besides a grimy film on the tile floor (bring slippers), some tears in the leather couch, and the world's loudest bathroom fan, the room was in great condition, was very clean, and we felt safe. At night we saw security regularly patrolling the property and had both a direct line and cell number for security. The property was relatively quiet and full of families or older couples. Locally, we had access to tons of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Take a left out of the property and you're good to go! Go right and you'll be taking a trip to a shady and seedy part of Kissimmee. (Moral of this story: don't go right). Disney parks were about 20 min away and Universal about 30 min. You definitely need a car if you plan to stay here and visit the parks. The pool is ok. It's small - looks way bigger online and it needs to be cleaned more often during the day as there were a lot of dead bugs and particles from noodles and boogie boards throughout the water. Shallow end starts at 4' so small kids need floatation devices. Pool and jacuzzi open 24 hours which is nice for an after park dip in the pool. I slept on the pull out one night and while it looked like it had the potential to be used as a torture device, it was not bad! With that being said, one night is not a week. Spring for the extra bedroom for your kids and make your life easier and everyone more comfortable. Overall, I'd stay here again for the same kind of vacation. If you're looking to spend a lot of time at the resort, you'd be better off looking for an upgrade elsewhere with better and more amenities. And if you book this place for just a "hotel" room, know you may be sleeping in a shoebox attached to someone's kitchen and you'll probably hear the inner workings of the family next door. (i.e. "Mooooommmm, I'm hungryyyyy.")
