Club Tapiz, Mendoza, Argentina - Explore & Book

"What a joy to find Club Tapiz amidst Mendoza’s bodegas: a charming Italianate 1890s house dwarfed by mighty pines and palms, surrounded by neat vineyards. Just 7 airy rooms come off the long gallery, with its original slender columns and terracotta tiles; another 4 sit in a separate villa nearby. Tall doors, wide windows and classic proportions bring 19th-century elegance, but bold design abounds: a minimalist water feature, chic decking, and vast picture windows in the relaxing lounge. There’s a glazed panel onto tasting rooms below, where specially commissioned contemporary paintings sit well on exposed brick and aubergine walls. Open the French doors in your spacious, ochre-coloured bedroom to find grand views of vines and a lovely pool. You can borrow a bicycle to explore the bodegas of Maipú and Luján de Cuyo, then relax after all that strenuous wine-tasting with a massage in the spa. Later, move on to superb picadas in the lounge, then a sophisticated dinner in the restaurant. Highs A chic but relaxed mood: nothing pretentious, just chilled-out eleganceSuperb restaurant using local produce, with an excellent wine list (naturally)Good little spa, with a sauna, a Jacuzzi and fantastic massages. There are also a couple of outdoor pools to lounge byJust 15km away, the Bodega Tapiz tour (included in your tariff) is the best in the regionA friendly atmosphere: meet other guests at the daily wine tasting and swap travel notes Lows Service, although very pleasant and charming, is a little on the slow sideGuests are generally thoughtful, but sometimes sit out late on the delightful veranda beside the bedrooms - ask for one of the quieter rooms if you'd like more privacyThere's a slight air of faded grandeur, but that's all part of the charm" - Christabelle Dilks

Club Tapiz is a charming, intimate hotel that feels like a true escape. The rooms use old-fashioned skeleton keys, adding to its cozy, historic vibe. Each morning started with a delicious breakfast, and the staff was attentive in keeping our water bottles stocked—replacing them again in the evening if needed.||The property itself is beautiful and unique. There’s a working olive oil company on-site (their olive oils are fantastic and available for purchase) and even a tapestry museum you can wander through. The on-site restaurant is excellent, and as hotel guests, we didn’t need a reservation—such a nice touch.||The staff was consistently friendly and on top of cleaning and maintenance. Although we didn’t use the spa, it’s nice to know it’s there for future visits. A peaceful, authentic Mendoza experience—highly recommended!

Wonderful place, ideally located for Mendoza. A gem of a boutique hotel. The restaurant is just a-ma-zing! The wine matching to a local, original and sublime food is second to none, and special mention for the service, led by Carolina, knowledgeable, attentive and effective. Just let your senses drive you..

Exceptional stay. Wonderful atmosphere, facilities, staff, wine. We enjoyed every part. Alejandro was particularly welcoming at the 8pm wine tasting. Carolina was incredibly friendly and helpful in serving food & wine. All the staff created a positive and relaxed atmosphere. Most staff spoke English well, especially the office staff and at the wine tasting. We felt so relaxed the whole time. Could have stayed forever! Thank you for a lovely taste of Argentinian hospitality.

Stayed in the off-season for Mendoza. May in North America, So Fall in South America, late sweet wine season. Every single staff member was personable despite bad Spanish/Castellano on my part. Everything about the stay felt like a home away from home. The guard tower breakfasts with views of the vineyard directly below and the Andes in the distance were simultaneously relaxing, amazing, and fulfilling. Being in the guard tower made it feel like I was just in my living room. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but what laid outside them was better whether it be the tree in the courtyard that houses beautiful green birds (some sort of parrot I think), the museum area, the common area where tastings are held, or even the security office by the gate where the good boy Tarzan frequents for attention and rest (God willing he's there for you). You get all these things, and you don't need to go far for a good restaurant. Just walk next to the guard tower, and you'll find thoughtfully prepared and delicious meals. My girlfriend and I were thankful that the staff were able to accommodate dessert delivery to our room. This place is an oasis near the Andes, and I highly suggest staying here if you plan on touring Argentine wine country.

The staff were very nice. They tell you to explore the whole property. |The property is very beautiful : winery, gardens and Olive trees.|The security was very good.||The restaurant was good.||They offered wine and/or olive oil tasting every evening and it was outstanding.||The hotel was very nice on the outside, but on the inside it was very dated. The bathroom was the main issue for us. The shower door would not close, broken toilet seat, water faucet handle fell off, broken window in bathroom and you could not flush toilet paper in toilet.

We spent one night at Club Tapiz and dined there. We were not able to visit the vineyard (which was disappointing), but we loved the informal tasting at 8pm on the patio. It was great to meet other guests, and our hostess did a wonderful job exposing us to the different wines and sharing information and history about the vineyard. Our meal was delicious, and the service was perfect. Everyone was friendly and accepted our very approximate Spanish. Do not hesitate to stay there and enjoy the restaurant.

My wife and I came here to have a meal at their restaurant and had a most wonderful experience. Everything from the food to the service to the ambience was spectacular. Ariel and Carolina were our servers and provided stellar service and recommendations. The wine and dishes were simply delicious, worth every penny and more. Can't recommend this place enough!

Argentina is one of the most fascinating and fun places you could wish to visit. We spent a few weeks travelling throughout the country and this was a great stop off in this desert region. We stayed in the separate building away from the main hotel. First impression is not great but if you can overlook the slightly tired furnishings it is much quieter than the rooms at the front of the hotel which are plagued by very noisy birds and we were told the air conditioning was often problematic by other guests. Our room was large and we shared a large lounge area where we were able to take breakfast. This separate building also has its own pool. I always received friendly service. We dined in the restaurant numerous times and the food was good. However, we felt they should vary the menu a lot more. We were told the menu changes seasonally and so we became a little bored with the choices. We would return to this hotel but next time we would rent a car to enable us to visit other restaurants. I recommend visitors do the wine tours in this region, they are amazing.

Yelp
Beautiful venue with a great lunch service. My tour group consisted of 28 individuals & was taken care of exceptionally well by the waitstaff. Lunch was delicious & consisted of homemade bread, a fresh mixed green salad with veggies, beef roast & mashed potato, & a dulche de leche bread pudding(?) that was out of this world. Wish we had more time to view the property but the food was worth the trip.

Yelp
Where do I begin with Club Tapiz? Beautiful and charming. Exceptional friendly proprietors. A wonderful retreat for a quiet getaway and tour. The property is surrounded by grape vines and mountain views. The rooms are quaint and comfortable. They offer an 8pm wine tasting on the patio. It's a delightful opportunity to try their wines and chat with the other guests from all over the world. The restaurant here is fabulous. The menu had limited offerings so during our stay we tried it all. The beet salad with pistachio and goat cheese, and the goat entree were stand outs. They make their own olive oil on the property which is irresistible with the fresh baked bread. We are Americans and we're thrilled with the prices for a 3 course meal with wine pairings. If you are coming to Mendoza this should be your place to stay and eat, you won't be disappointed. They also have a cooking school on site, so we were fortunate enough to get to set up a private class for one eve with the chef. It was truly an unforgettable experience
