We had such an AMAZING dinner and evening at Clube Do Bacalhau. Sydney was our waiter and he provided excellent service. He was very friendly and attentive. Dining outdoors in this vibrant space was absolutely divine. We thoroughly recommend the Happy Hour sangrias and the delicious food served here after busy day exploring the city. Thank you to Sydney, the chef and Clube Do Bacalhau for a fabulous evening!

Located in the heart of Lisbon coastal downtown, this place sees most diners in outdoor alfresco for its chill laidback charm in the day. We came after checking out the reviews and ordered the mixed fish platter and a grilled octopus. The platter might be able to feed 2 big eaters but not us. It was enormous .. and not all the fish pieces were consistently cooked well. The grilled octopus on the other hand, was excellently cooked - loved it!

What to say about this fantastic restaurant. Everything was perfect from the food to the service to the ambiance. I also drank the most beautiful white wine I've ever tasted in this restaurant. If you are a couple, you must try Codfish for two.

Dining outdoors at the Clube do Bacalhau was a great experience. While still in the States, I used GoogleMaps and booked a reservation for 12 people. I then emailed this establishment that there could be 17 people. 19 showed up, and as our group expanded, the courtesy extended to us was 5 Star. Food was prepared well and served hot. Highly recommend!

Most beautiful shaded space, good music yet still peaceful. The service is wonderful, smiley helpful friendly faces. & the food has made me a very happy girly. Wonderful recommended spot & if Sidney is your server, you’re in for a good time! Gave me tips on the city & helped me through the menu. The place looks very nice and promising. Maybe good for persons that that did not tried some actual good grilled fish (so my review is from the perspective of comparing it with good food). The grilled sardines and the sea bass were under average. They mistaken a bit our order, they solved it but they didn’t reply back to our goodbye greeting. Started promising but ended bad. I am comparing it to other restaurants in Lisbon that have the same price range.

Grilled sardines is ok. Taste ok. The octopus is very soft, a very unique food in Portugal. I like it. Salad is ok. The atmosphere is in the alley way so it is unique. The only problem is that the food all come out at the same time and food get cool fast. My suggestion is that salad come out first, let thr customer finish it. Then come thr octopus and sardines. At the end is the paella.

We've been in Portugal for 2 weeks and this was our first bad restaurant experience. We arrived at happy hour. The waiter brought port tonics, which were fairly weak, but still cool and refreshing on a hot day. We told him several times we didn't want food, but he brought a standard "couvert" (bread, oil, olives) anyway, plus some small cod fritters. We nibbled at it out of politeness. When it came time for the bill, he first brought the wrong one (a much higher tab) and then when he brought ours, said they only took cash -- something he hadn't mentioned before (and I can't imagine that policy is true for the €25 entrees.) Fine. We paid in cash for our drinks and the snacks, which were unusually pricey -- €1 each, totaling nearly €5 for a few bites. He brought our change and then tried to make a joke out of asking if we wanted it, as if we might leave it all for him! Unbelievably rude, and again, not at all what we've experienced here. If you're passing by, try the place next door -- that was our first choice, but the tables were all full. We should have waited.

Avoid this place, please avoid it! On the terrace, you get a hint of urine every time the wind blows - this is just to set the scene. We ordered wine and water and then they came with a starter (that we did not order and no surprise... it wasn't on the house - so we politely refused it). Then, came the main course: 'Lambo de Bacalhau com Broa' - the fish was undercooked... the only thing 'tasty' from that dish were the potatoes (and even those needed a pinch of salt). They only accept card payments btw - and if you ask for card they point you to the ATM. Food was ridiculously overpriced! And the staff had a 'no f#$s give attitude'

Our first Restaurant in Portugal. Anna made recommendations and every one was great, Muito bem! The best was the Bacalhau Especial. That was beyond good. Great wine and she even made a martini for my brother just the way he liked. We also had the sausage and cheese sampler and some other dishes.
