Google
I really enjoyed the ice creams, they offer a wide variety of flavors and different serving options such as cups, cones, and waffles. One thing I appreciated is that if you’re unsure about a flavor, you can ask for a small sample spoon to try it before making your choice, which is very helpful. After spending the day at the park, stopping by for an ice cream is a refreshing and enjoyable way to cool down and relax. However, one downside is that the credit card payment machine doesn’t give you the option to decline leaving a tip, so it feels almost mandatory, which can be a bit uncomfortable if you just want to pay without adding anything extra.

Google
Amazing ice cream and flavors! They handle gluten free so well and opened a new container and actually CARED! The flavors are awesome and the staff are great! Came on an extremely busy night where the line is out the back door the entire time and the girls are handling it perfectly! We will definitely be back when in town!

Google
Love this place in Cant recommend it more if there was an ability to offer more than five stars I would leave more than five stars. The flavors are just fine. The staff is very kind and they make their waffles in house. Super conveniently located with on and off street parking available. This is kind of a staple of downtown North Shore Chattanooga that you need to check.

Google
Located on Frazier Avenue in Chattanooga, TN near Coolidge Park, this ice cream shop offers delicious and unique flavors. We had the Blackberry Mojito, Mint Chocolate Chunk, Espresso Chocolate Chunk, and Cookie Dough (kids’ cake cone). There is plenty of seating inside, and there are restrooms. They will provide samples for you to try. Parking can be difficult to find depending on the time of day/day of the week. We found street parking and used our phone to follow posted directions to pay for parking.

Google
Drove up to Chat Town from Atl on a nice Saturday. My sons and I had a great time walking the area and decided on Clumpies for a sweet treat. Great location and good selection. I'm dairy-free and love sorbet, so their 5 different sorbet flavors work perfect for me. My sons both had a cookie dough milkshake, and 9 had a black cherry freeze. My only knock...the line was out the door, and they were way understaffed for a Saturday. It was just 2 employees working the counter. Really only 1 because the other had to keep the area stocked. Could have definitely used another pair of hands helping out. Other than that, we were totally satisfied customers. As long as you have patients, I would highly recommend stopping in.

Google
Not the best ice cream we’ve had- but pretty darn good! I had a waffle cone with Coffee Toffee…and tbh it could have had a little more flavor of both. Husband had his normal strawberry shake haha! Nice to grab and walk around the park!

Google
Our first visit to Clumpies Ice Cream Co. at 26 Frazier Ave. B was a delight, just as many had recommended. The enthusiastic, quick, and polite servers made a significant difference, even during the busy rush. I savored a double serving of pistachio and almond chocolate chunk in a waffle cone, while my girlfriend enjoyed a cup of salty malty. Both flavors were delicious. The only regret is not getting the names of the fantastic servers. If you haven't been to Clumpies, add it to your list!

Google
This is where I met my soon-to-be husband, so I've got a soft spot for this particular location. We like to come by for dessert after errands or on date nights, and our favorite thing to get is the 6-flavor flight, where you can try 6 flavors and combine them in all the various ways. Super fun! Tip: always try one of their sorbets. The ice cream tends to be very rich and delicious, so a sorbet is nice to freshen things up, especially in summer.

Yelp
Shop local? Dessert local! We've been visiting Chattanooga for years and somehow missed this gem celebrating a quarter century of hand-crafted creamery. The national ice cream chains dominate the aquarium neighborhoods but across the river sits one of the best. (Chumples has three sites around town). Their sign screams local. It states the multiple flavors (many unique) begin just 3.9 miles away from the Northshore location. Recommended: pumpkin caramel and PB brownie. Four adults, one scoop each in container: $24 before tip. Atmosphere: perfect. Large counter, chairs and tables. Cozy. Service: great. Young staff and overly friendly.

Yelp
I love clumpies its such good ice cream I have been going here since I was young and I always love going here I would highly recommend anyone going here if you want some ice cream 5/5 stars would recommend The only problem is the line. I would recommend not going during the weekend due to the line or not during peak hours

Yelp
I love a good ice cream spot and this place delivered. It has an old diner feel. They have a wide variety of rotating flavors, some which are pretty unique. The portions are big and they'll let you try a lot of flavors. The kids loved the bubblegum flavor where they add pop rocks which is fun. They were also really nice as well which always adds to the experience. We'll definitely come back again.

Yelp
Honestly this is my nieces and nephews favorite place to visit while in town. When they visit, we stop in for a nightly ice cream treat or drink! I love that they offer samples so you can decide what you want. I just wish there were more dairy free offerings! But this is a must stop in if you love ice cream!!
google avatar

Yelp
Worth the wait! I think we waited nearly 45 minutes for our ice cream, but they let you sample several flavors and try e prices are very reasonable. I had the carrot cake ice cream and it was DELIGHTFUL. The base ice cream tasted like cream cheese frosting and there were huge chunks of cake throughout. I loved it! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
This place has a great selection of rich and creamy ice cream! There were three of us, so we decided to get a flight of 6 flavors! I ordered the Espresso Chocolate Chunk and the Lookout Lavender (both were excellent!)and my friends ordered Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Banana Pudding, Firecracker, and HoneyComb! The staff were efficient and friendly!! The establishment played an array of music for all tastes. Definitely try their ice cream! It was so rich, creamy, and refreshing!!! I can see why it's one of the top places to get absolutely delicious ice cream in Tennessee!!!
google avatar

Megana V.

Yelp
This place exceeded my already high expectations!! Texture - 9/10 creamy and thick, not icy whatsoever Flavor - 12/10 loved the fall seasonal flavors like brown sugar walnut and apple crisp oatmeal, very unique and not overly sweet Absolutely loved this and a too ice cream place not just in chatt but in general!

Yelp
Clumpies ice cream came highly recommended. It did NOT disappoint!! The staff was helpful and hardworking. Great customer service. I tried a few samples but finally just settled on mint chocolate chunk (kiddie cup). It was the perfect amount of ice cream to cool me down. It was SO hot the day I visited. The inside was spacious and the menu board was huge so this is a plus. They had some really cool merch too! Grab and go also is available. Street parking and a nearby paid lot parking. I will definitely be back to Clumpies because it was such a yummy treat for sure!!!

Yelp
Chocolate, sprinkles and gummy bears! Biggest one scoop you have ever seen. It is amazing

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! The line was out to the back door and we waited for probably 20-30mins but it was so worth it. It's five star ice cream but I'm giving it 4 because of the slow service. They had two people working, but only one was serving ice cream and the other was running around doing other things (?), the wait probably could've been way less if they were both actually serving. They have so many hard flavor options from the basics to very unique flavors. Fresh waffle cones too! There is some seating inside and out back, though the line is right next to the one seating area so I would probably suggest just taking your ice cream outside or down to the park. I appreciate that they let you try flavors even when the line is long. The Carrot Cake flavor was phenomenal, huge chunks of actual cake in there. Love this place!
google avatar

Anisha D.

Yelp
The ice cream was really good and very creamy. It was a unique flavor for sure! The service was fast. I just wish they had more seating. Would recommend for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Long wait but very good! Generous servings. Just think for the crowd they need more employees . The servers were very nice though and were moving quickly.

Yelp
Clumpies was recommended by a friend who lives in Chattanooga. He told me that the sorbets are amazing and boy! Was he right! I had the Vanilla Ice Cream - a good Vanilla is always the test of a good Ice-Cream Shop - if it isn't great, the rest won't be either. With it, I had a seasonal Berry with Basil. Both were INCREDIBLE! He wasn't wrong and I must say that although the portions were huge, I couldn't not finish it! I also got myself a cute coffee mug. Can't wait to visit and have some more!
google avatar

Becky D.

Yelp
Great ice cream that's not super sweet!! They have a great variety of flavors and choices of cone, cup, bowl sizes. Just a heads up though I don't think they make more of one flavor after they run out for the day. The service was great. When we tried them the Staff was just two teen girls. They were super into Taylor Swift, and so we were stuck, listening to awful music upon our visit, but it's understandable and we just dealt with it. The facility is clean (and adorably decorated). Although some outdoor seating would put the cherry on top. We'll definitely be returning and highly recommend you give them a try.

Yelp
Three stars, because in the context of, all things considered, Clumpies was part of a great experience during our stop in Chattanooga. However, I found the staff to be quite disengaged, just moving through the line taking orders, not offering much help, and lackadaisically responding to our questions. Our selection was good, Clumpies indeed offers good ice cream, but if you add good service to a good product, the end result is a much more pleasant experience. Perhaps a bit more adult supervision might help these kids deliver a bit better service. It will be good for the establishment, and also for all parties involved in the transaction.

Yelp
Mid May Saturday night (warm outside), St. Elmo location, a tiny shop, a line to wait thru and no offering of Non-dairy ice cream, hard pass .
google avatar

Dixie B.

Yelp
The daughter, granddaughter and I went in the front door to grab an ice cream, and had to walk all the way to the back of the store to order; the line was to the back door! The line did move quickly, though, and soon we were puzzling over our choices. We ended up with Pistachio for me, Butter Pecan for Papa, and that Boba thingy for the granddaughter. Daughter had Chai something. We all enjoyed our ice creams, and would return again.
google avatar

Brooke s.

Yelp
This ice cream was absolutely delicious! I am an ice cream connoisseur and the Guinness pretzel stout flavor was unlike any flavor I've ever had- so light and so flavorful. The worker let me try 3 samples which was awesome to try all the fun flavors. AND they have homemade cones, amazing! I would definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Ice cream rules in general BUT when you find an ice cream shop that truly takes their love and passion for ice cream to the next you get sweet shops like Clumpies. Many flavors and topping to choose from. Great and happy service! Everything you need to have a wonder treat packed into downtown. Just an FYI- read the menu on your phone. I had a hard time reading the menu off the wall. Maybe my eyesight and dyslexia where working against me but the red fancy text on the backboard was hard to decipher.

Yelp
The lone man working at 8 o'clock on May 12 is a hero because his partner left him because she had to go do inventory and left a line extending out the door so that one person could take care of orders and ringing people up at the same time. That man is a hero and that girl if she had to do inventory because some corporate policy, that policy is bull crap, or she left him out to dry, so whichever it is, it sucks and wasn't cool at all. But the ice cream and my hero who gave my family ice cream at the time is worth coming back to. My whole family literally wanted to jump back behind the counter and help that boy in his job.
google avatar

Tobias B.

Yelp
Don't come here unless you have a hour to wait in line. Not enough employees and the ones here were moving very slowly.
google avatar

Annilet G.

Yelp
Friendly staff and DELICIOUS ice cream. By far the best tasting cones I've ever had. The batter which they use to make the waffle cones is so good, you could eat a cone by itself. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Dana T.

Yelp
We were walking the beautiful area and saw this place. It looked like an ice cream parlor - so we went inside. Still not sure what the place was. They didn't make banana splits - so not an ice cream parlor. We left.

Yelp
Clumpies Ice Cream Company is an amazing place for ice cream if you are in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area and craving a frozen treat. Clumpie's Ice Cream is a long standing brand in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area and after trying their fantastic ice cream, you will understand why the community of Chattanooga, Tennessee has embraced this business. By the way, I am wondering what you woukd call someone from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Woukd it be a Chattanoogan? It kind of works. Anyway, the ice cream at this establishment is definitely pretty stellar. I kept it simple and got their vanilla. Let me say that the vanilla was sublimely wonderful. Clumpies Ice Cream is a great option if you are looking for ice cream and are in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I would definitely recommend here and I will give it five stars.
google avatar

Donette E.

Yelp
The best homemade ice cream in the area! We visited Chattanooga for the weekend and had ice cream everyday! Friendly staff and the store had tables to sit and enjoy your treats.
google avatar

Nadchen A.

Yelp
There were so many flavors to choose from. I've been coming here for a few years and I've always enjoyed their ice cream. I have so many late night memories with friends in downtown Chattanooga with ice cream from Clumpies. Although the line can get long at times, it moved pretty fast. I really like their Espresso Chocolate Chunk with the Waffle Cone. There's also outdoor seating in the back with lights hung up. It looks really cute. I always take my family here when we get the chance. Love the atmosphere, prices, and the service.
google avatar

Yelp
A nice spot for hand-dipped ice cream with creative flavors on Chattanooga's northside, Clumpies hit the spot for a post-lunch dessert before heading out of town on our recent visit. She went with a waffle cone stuffed with an incredibly decadent and delicious peanut butter chocolate, whereas I had the light pistachio. A perfect homemade treat.
google avatar

Zaria D.

Yelp
I went while visiting and exploring the area. There was parking throughout the area. The staff was friendly. I ordered cookies and cream with a cone. The ice cream was really good.
google avatar

Yelp
I walked into Clumpies on a lovely night to find an unsurprising line given that this place is close to the riverfront and multiple pedestrian bridges. They could have used a bit more staff to move that line. When I got to the front, I ordered a double scoop of ice cream and got what felt like at least three full scoops; you can't fault them on portion size. However, the mint chocolate chunk and the pistachio flavors that I ordered didn't really hit on flavor for me. The pistachio had a lot of actual nuts, but they didn't really taste blended into the cream itself; it was more ice cream with nuts in it than nut-flavored ice cream. The mint flavor didn't really come through strongly either; it's been a while since I visited another Clumpie's but it wasn't as good as I remember. Still, out of their many options, I think it would be easy to find some things worth trying, and it's a great location. They did have a couple of dairy-free items and a large fridge full of to-go ice cream cartons.

Yelp
We found this with Yelp's help and it was incredible! It will definitely be a must-see whenever we visit. The ice cream was delicious.
google avatar

Jill B.

Yelp
We saw a few Clumpies around town and knew we had to give it a try. The line was almost out the door but moved at a steady pace. My espresso chocolate chunk shake was perfection. My husband got a sweet cream coke float and daughter got a vanilla shake. My little girls got kid cones and loved the firecracker flavor best; it's similar to a bubble gum ice cream base but without any candy pieces.
google avatar

Victor D.

Yelp
I've been to every ice cream shop in Chattanooga. Clumpies is the best one around, hands down. The ice cream has great texture. Their rotating flavor selection is great. The shop itself is always clean and there's plenty of seating
google avatar

Nikki G.

Yelp
My mom and I stopped here at the urging of my sister in law that it was the best ice cream in the area. I had a vegan strawberry, which was great and flavorful. My mom had the coffee ice cream and enjoyed hers. We say on the deck in the back, and hung out with some dogs that were there with their owners.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
I'll never know ; or, at least I won't until I don't need a stroller. That's unfortunate.

Brooke J.

Yelp
It was the best ice cream i've ever had . I really recommend mint chocolate chip it was the best. if you have the time or chance go to Clumpies
google avatar

Audrey B.

Yelp
I really wanted to love Clumpies because the name is awesome, but I found it just fine. The ice cream was good, but nothing I'd truly go out of my way for. It was VERY creamy and melty (likely high butterfat with no preservatives) which was great, but it wasn't super flavorful. The flavors available were unique, but they were out of quite a few which was a major bummer after having my heart set on one that they didn't end up having. Womp womp. They do not have homemade cones, just store-bought waffle or sugar ones you can get anywhere. It was also odd that, without asking, they put the ice cream in a cup and then put the cone on top of the ice cream. I get having the cup because of the meltiness of the ice cream, but the cone experience is having the ice cream INSIDE of it so the flavors kind of blend together. I did really like that they had a special pup-cup which was adorable and healthy. My dog LOVED it. It was INCREDIBLY crowded inside over the weekend. I expected that on a nice day, but I mean REALLY crowded like the line was going out the door.
google avatar

Cheeritza S.

Yelp
We crossed the bridge & was pleasantly surprised that Clumpies was on the other side like a pot of gold. Lol It was a hot day, so it was super refreshing! The workers were patient & let us try all the flavors we asked for with a pleasant, customer oriented attitude. Very clean & kept up location as well. I ended up going with the Strawberry Hibiscus flavor. If you're in the area, I highly recommend that you stop by and try them for yourselves. (:

Yelp
Visited Clumpies on my Chattanooga visit. We walked over; it seems like parking would be a pain but it's super close to Coolidge Park so we just popped over! It smells deliciously like fresh waffle cones when you walk in. Masks required; there's stickers on the floor for social distancing in line and staff are masked and distanced as well. The space is a bit narrow though, so something to keep in mind if it's busy. Service is super friendly and very quick! I got a raspberry sorbet with hot fudge (def recommend), came out to maybe $5.50 so fair pricing for nice ice cream. They have a lot of flavors including some seasonal/special ones, so you can go for a more bougie or plain ice cream flavor. They also have dairy free flavors, so if you're lactose intolerant like me, rejoice! All in all, would recommend. No indoor dining bc COVID, but eat your ice cream safely on the outdoor patio or in the adjacent park!
google avatar

Veeral S.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream! I wish they did not run out of their waffle cones because we really wanted to try it but all is forgiven because the ice cream was so good. It was creamy and tasted freshly made. The flavors were on point. We got espresso choc chip and strawberry. My son devoured the strawberry before I could take the photo! The ice cream wasn't too sweet which we prefer so we had a great experience! Also, the pricing is just right for an authentic ice cream place like this! It isn't overpriced at all for the quality.
google avatar

Zhene J.

Yelp
The location was very cute, and the ice cream and the service were excellent. My only issue is handling ice cream cones without gloves, especially when dealing with money. We just came out of a pandemic, and even if people still think Covid is fake, germs are still very real. On another note this is cute place for a first date or a meet up spot with the girls!
google avatar

Yelp
If the summer heat is getting you down post Walnut Street Bridge crossing, swing by local legend Clumpies on the North Shore side of the bridge for some hometown ice cream (don't worry, 45 minutes of walking to and fro across the bridge will close the calorie gap for one scoop). Lots of great flavors of the day to explore, but a favorite is Firecracker. It's a delicious scoop whose flavor can best be described as "if you could taste the color blue this would be it." The extra bonus is getting it topped with Pop Rocks (TM). Get it on a home made waffle cone or in a cup, grab a seat on the outside patio to properly pair hot sun with cold ice cream, and spoon away some classic Chattanooga goodness.
google avatar

Leah D.

Yelp
Tons of fun flavors including ones you might not find anywhere else! I have loved coming here for years. They have some seating inside and a patio in the back to enjoy your ice cream too.
google avatar

Paula C.

Yelp
Great little place with some great seasonal flavors! Got a cup of blackberry mojito and it was amazing! Prices are good. Atmosphere is quaint and rustic. In town for a softball tournament. , but would be a good go if we lived here.
google avatar

Hydration S.

Yelp
Tasty! The ice cream was good, but the featured strawberry hibiscus sorbet was delicious. The prices were reasonable and inside was nice. The service was quick too. Overall I would recommend going here!

Victoria W.

Yelp
Based on the reviews, we had to try Clumpies. On their website, they claim to have the smoothest, creamiest small batch homemade ice cream. I am definitely an ice cream lover so I could not wait! Where to begin? When we went into the shop, the selections were clearly written on the wal. The first thing that struck me was how TINY the cups were for the ice cream. A kiddie is maybe a half a scoop for over $4. I decided to go with the one scoop option. I watched as the quite grouchy and unfriendly girls scooped the ice cream into dishes. Having worked at an ice cream store, I noticed immediately that the cones were not filled with ice cream. Just a ball plopped on top. The small didn't even make it to the rim of the small cup. The lack of service and size were the least of my concerns. The chocolate ice cream was gritty and chalky. It wasn't in the least bit creamy or smooth. The taste was artificial. The hot fudge was a sludgy clump for an extra dollar. My husband had the cookie dough milkshake. It wasn't better taste-wise. Definitely go somewhere else. This was not it.

Bryson W.

Yelp
The ice cream is good but I'm disappointed. My family and I asked for The "Love Potion" flavor listed on the menu since it was unique but for some reason they gave us a Lemon flavor. This was supposed to be a birthday treat but ended up in disappointment. You're better off getting a pint of Mayfield or Breyers from the store than this.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
So I'm gonna start by saying something a little controversial...I DONT LIKE ICE CREAM! Lol I've never been the type to be obsessed with ice cream or even choose it as my sweet treat. I've always had one or two flavors that I occasionally crave but one bite is enough. Clumpies just might change that!! It was delicious! We walked across the pedestrian bridge into North Shore for dinner and decided on our way back we would stop in for a little something sweet for our walk back. I'm so glad we did. I've been hearing about Clumpies from a lot of the locals, it's the place they send someone when they want ice cream. Local advice is usually the advice to follow in my opinion. Well, they were totally right. The ice cream was so good. It wasn't too sweet and the ingredients tasted fresh. I chose a single scoop of strawberry with a sugar cone. It had real strawberries in the ice cream, it was smooth and creamy just like the perfect ice cream should be. My husband got a milkshake with the Nutella flavor ice cream, choose a flavor and make it a shake! We walked across the bridge eating our ice cream but they also had a nice outdoor patio with plenty of seating if you would rather sit and enjoy the scenery. Overall Clumpies was great and they might actually make this girl like ice cream! Lol. So whether your buying by the scoop, buying by the pint, craving a shake or ice cream sandwich, or buying some great souvenirs for friends and family, this new local recommends Clumpies! COVID NOTES: These girls were doing a great job making sure we were distanced and safe! They made sure that everyone in line had a mask on and kept an eye on the size of the line. With one way in and one way out it was an easy process that worked really well. Don't forget your mask so that we can all do our part to make sure our small local businesses stay open!

Yelp
Looking for something different for our weekend getaway, I saw Clumpies which was a local to Chattanooga. Knowing that ice cream spots that are local are few and far in between, I knew that it would be a great place to visit as it was a stone's throw away from walking places. Park is right there, the pedestrian bridge (which was pretty awesome). There was a line when I came here, but it was a pretty fast line. They have all types of flavors, sadly you can't really taste anything due to COVID-19 so you sort of have to shoot in the dark and if it sounded good then go for it. I would say though when we got to the register and asked about the flavors that they had and what the staff thought, it was extremely helpful in deciding what we wanted. I thought, even though it was expected, it was still a bit sweet for my taste but overall not too bad! The location of this spot was awesome though and I think it's great to get some ice cream and walk around. We enjoyed it on the bridge. We ordered the Pistachio and was not disappointed.

Debbie S.

Yelp
Ice cream and service both simply amazing. highly recommend this place especially in this Chattanooga heat! Our server invited us to sample different flavors! It was the best ! Use the coupon in the tourist material !
