I can't recommend CMH heli-hiking highly enough. Being dropped off by a helicopter at the trail head and then picked up when you're done adds a really cool dimension to the trip. Better yet, heli-hiking makes beautiful areas that are close to impossible to get to accessible to ordinary folks. I travelled on two via ferratas during my stay, one above the Conrad ice field and the other up and over Mount Nimbus, and they were both a blast for a rookie wannabe mountaineer like myself. Very different experiences, but the views along both are jaw-dropping, the terrain is diverse and fun to hike through, and the guides are world-class. The most essential gear is provided, and it's also top of the line stuff: I fell in love with the boots they let me use. Finally, the Bobbie Burns lodge was basically a Ritz-Carlton for people who enjoy hiking. Steam room, hot tub, comfy bed and big shower, and they feed you three gourmet meals a day plus snacks and a fully stocked bar. I definitely intend to book more vacations with CMH in the future, and you should, too!
