I love Coal Miner's Daughter and the collection of Canadian-designed clothes they curate, but my experiences shopping here have been hit and miss, because they don't seem to get new inventory very often. For example I have an outdoorsy wedding coming up and wanted to find a suitable outfit- dressy and feminine, but also picnic-chic and in a natural material that would be comfortable in hot weather. Of course I thought of CMD and visited three of their locations (Queen west, Roncy and Dundas west). At all three I found that dresses, tops and skirts I had been excited to see online were either sold out, or only in very large or very small sizes. I would understand if this had been the end of the season, but this was mid-July. It seemed really early to be out of so much summer inventory.
It's a lovely store to try your luck in if you happen to be walking past, but based on this experience I don't think I'll make a special visit there again, unless I know they are well-stocked at that moment like the very beginning of a season.
