My husband and I saw this place on a highly rated list of restaurants in Oban, safe to say this place really lived up to the hype! Our first visit & evening in Scotland and it far exceeded our expectations , especially for the prices, so reasonable for the incredible experience. We had the scallops, the sole, the beef and the mussels, along with a few desserts and each dish was clearly made with expertise and love. The staff are lovely too, we highly recommend everyone to try this incredible restaurant!

Excellent service and tasty food. Felt the restaurant would of benefited from some background music playing over the speakers. I enjoyed my starter of butternut squash risotto, however I found the size of the portion to be very small. Extensive wine list to choose from. Reservations are recommended in advance. Very tasty fish and chips. My friends scallops were the biggest scallops I've ever seen and she enjoyed them. Disappointed with the cheap poor quality salt and pepper & wine glasses.

Food was amazing. Service was quite quick. If I have any critique, it is that they are so busy, because of their amazing food, that you don't really have time to get to know your server.

Such a nice place. It's calm, the staff is very nice and the food is delicious. Portions are a bit small for the price, but I don't mind as it's very good. I had the cauliflower croquettes (£18) and almond cake for dessert (£8)

One of the best places we ate during our 6day visit to Oban. The food was delicious..Braised Beef was amazing.

Excellent hospitality & great food. Menu offers various choices between fish & meat which bring some challenges on what to choose. I really liked my venison with the vegetables. Starter was delicious, i was a bit unlucky which got exchanged immediately with a new one and came on the house with the bill. Superb service! The rhubarb ginger sponge cake was superlicious

We arrived early to get a table and found that the restaurant filled up towards 1pm. Staff were very attentive, food was spectacular, ranked in our top 3 meals of this trip. They have a regular menu and also a seasonal menu, you can choose items from each. I would recommend the scallops, cod on pea and leek risotto and their lemon tart.

Wow Thanks Yelp Arriving in Oban without a plan, we were lucky to snag the last reservation of the day. A diverse and detailed pair of menus, classic and seasonal, we enjoyed squash risotto, amazing scallops and salmon. Each we vegetable pairings of salads, potatoes, carrots; lightly dressed A simply but elegantly designed space with service eager to make sure we were pleased........we sure were

Honestly, I was disappointed. Coast was the most highly recommended restaurant in Oban from travel bloggers and our hosts in other towns. I thought the food was bland. Not bad at all, but not great. Salmon was overcooked and soup was so light it was basically milk. On the positive side, The vegetables were the best in10 days in Scotland, by a huge margin, and it's a classy place to eat.

This restaurant was good. The dishes were hit and miss. Smoked salmon appetizer was very good. Halibut was very dry.

A lovely warm restaurant with terrific service and wonderful local food. Clean washrooms. I had the special, a squash risotto and I asked them to add grilled scallops to it. So delicious, so fresh. For dessert I think that we had a special too, their take on Cranachan, which was perfect. I was enjoying so much that I forgot to take pictures! I would return again in a heartbeat.

The food was outstanding! Lots of flavor from their scallops, mussels all the way to fish and chips! Everything tasted fresh. Service was great, they were so sweet! This place deserves 5 stars!

We stopped here while driving through Scotland. We would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service exceptional. Our favorite place in Scotland. Don't miss this restaurant if you are in the area.

Nice meal, bright and lively restaurant. Started with local scallops and black pudding, great scallops. Followed by the venison, cooked perfectly and not too gamely. A fun experience.

Excellent! Cozy atmosphere, delicious food and a fun staff that make a great experience for enjoying a meal. We had two different salmon dishes both perfectly cooked and tasty, a squash risotto (creamy and delicious) and mussels (simple and probably the best I have ever had). When the meal and appetizer are that good you don't skip the desert...I wish I could try them all but the chocolate mousse and ice cream were a perfect end to the meal. To top off this experience of incredible food you have a staff who are pleasant, and fun as well as price that makes these gourmet meals accessible. I would come here all the time if I lived in this beautiful town.

This is a wonderful place in Oban. We had the halibut and lamb mains. Both were great. We shared the beetroot and goat cheese salad, again yummy! Nice selection of wine. Make reservations and enjoy.

CLASSY RESTAURANT, VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY, GREAT SERVICE! We arrived at Oban in the evening and asked for the restaurant recommendation from out host at Sutherland Guest House and he pointed us to this place for classy feel and best mussels in town! Since I am vegetarian and my hubby wanted to try mussels from Isle of Mull, we decided to check this place out and we were not disappointed a bit! AMBIANCE: The ambiance is very upscale and this place is always full . We had to wait for 20 mins to get the table. So if you are planning on going, please make the reservation beforehand. They play for soft music and the decor is very soothing as well. SERVICE: The servers are very friendly and always eager to help. They are pretty quick in responding but do not hover over the table to overwhelm you. We asked for recommendation for bottle of red wine and her recommendation didn't disappoint and paired nicely with our dinner. Food: Below is what we ordered: -Mussels: they get fresh mussels from Isle of mull so we ordered them to fulfill my husbands bucket list. The mussels came in a creamy sauce and were fresh and delicious - Salmon Fillet; which was backed perfectly and had nice flavors to it -Roasted Herb Gnocchi with Goat's Cheese: I loved the Gnocchi especially the flavors that were imparted by the sauce and shiitake mushrooms -We ordered Chocolate tart for dessert which came with pistachio topping and boy it was mouthwatering! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the Coast and highly recommend checking this place out!

Outstanding seafood. Scallops were fresh. Loved the Cullen skink and salmon too. Veggies were great. Sticky toffee pudding was moist too.

Excellent food and service, lovely atmosphere. We had scallops, salmon and a delicious berry mousse for dessert. It was a very nice meal.

The four of us loved all our entree's. Two of us had the Halibut. Would highly recommend and the service was exceptional.

Make sure to make a reservation as it is a small place. Professional waitstaff with excellent food. Without a doubt my favorite meal in Oban. The atmosphere was quiet and made for an enjoyable dining experience. I liked that it had light fare options, as well as the, less healthy but yummy desserts. The salads were great, the salmon fillets were excellent, and the sticky toffee pudding was heavenly. This is how a restaurant should be!

Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced. All four of us enjoyed all of our starters and main dishes. The service was fast, and our server was pleasant and efficient. Best dinner we have eaten in Scotland.

Been traveling around Scotland for two weeks.... best chips so far! The carrot coriander soup was delicious. The quality of the food for the price was very good. Service was very friendly, though a little slow. They accommodated food allergies easily. Would definitely go back here again!

We dined here on a recommendation from our host at Sutherland Guest House. We wanted something nice that would accommodate a vegetarian and my gluten free self. Coast suited perfectly. Service was impeccable - there when you needed someone, but you never felt like they were hovering. Food was generally well done, though my risotto was a touch undercooked. I had the halibut, my partner had the falafel and halloumi pastry over vegetables. The atmosphere was lovely and we really enjoyed our meal!

Fantastic. Exemplary service. The menu selection was fantastic. They have a set price menu that looked very good. I did the ala cart Starter scallops were perfect. A little ch ar on the outside and a nice center over very tasty greens. The lamb was perfect. With a heavenly sauce new potatoes and veg. The house merlot was very good. All told a great experience. Well recommended
