"This 190-mile national long-distance route crosses northern England from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, passing through three national parks and a wide variety of terrain. Walkers encounter beaches and headlands, lakeside footpaths, forest tracks, stone walkways and occasional country roads, and many itineraries split the route into daily sections ending in villages with pubs or B&Bs. A common tradition is to pick up a pebble on the west coast to carry across the country and deposit on the east; overnight options emphasize small, convivial hospitality (pub rooms, country inns, and bed-and-breakfasts), packed hiker lunches, and hearty full English breakfasts before long days of walking. The route is very popular with domestic and international hikers who prefer rural scenery and village life over cities." - Mike Nolan
Nice photo op at the start of the Coast to Coast route. We set off in pouring rain and finished 2 weeks later in glorious sunshine over Robin Hood's Bay :)

Went to the Start, looked hard work. Went home.
Joking aside, will do sometime in the future. Need two weeks to do comfortably. Great challenge walk though which goes through 3 national parks and some of the UKs very best scenery.

Nice little walk up the head land. If skies are clear, fantastic views of skarfell pike and surrounding mountains. On a really good day you can see Isle of Man.
Toilets and cafe in the carpark, with ample parking.

Paradise... St Bees head. The start or finish of the coast to coast walk. The objects in the water are the remains of the SS Izaro which ran aground in 1907 (I think) it was carrying iron ore to Workington but was a foggy night, what you see is the remains of the two boilers and the rudder.
