When coming to Kamakura, please have your breakfast here!! The food is prepared with great care. I had the mackerel set and the grill is very well done. 👍 Fish is fresh with no fishy taste. Do expect some waiting time for your meal to be ready as they cook your meals perfectly! Perfect for a breakfast before your setting off to your Kamakura trip.

Came in for a traditional breakfast and were warmly welcomed. It's a cozy restaurant with delicious food. I can really recommend and am looking forward to coming back someday!

This was my first meal in Japan and it was disappointing. Waited in line for about 30 minutes since 10am, finally got in and then they took my order at the front and you find a seat and sit down until your number is called. The food took a long time to prepare, after finishing the food and drinking half of the tea, I noticed something floating in my tea. At first I thought maybe it was a barley seed but then as I used my chopsticks to bring it closer to my horror I realized it was a maggot/worm larvae. It has probably been soaking in my tea for a while and I have already drank it. I immediately felt nauseous and told the front whether it was a bug, they squashed it and said unfortunately yes and asked if I wanted another tea - I just wanted to leave at that point. They did not offer for any refund or otherwise for this experience. I am concerned about the hygiene and do not recommend, especially given the wait in line and mediocre food.

The restaurant is on the small side and the tables are somewhat cramped, but the liveliness of the staff and the quality of the morning breakfast was superb. The mackerel was one of the highlights of the day trip. I appreciate all the cute designs ranging from the chicken chopstick holder to the monthly moon schedule

Such a nice healthy, traditional Japanese breakfast. The lady at the counter was so lovely as well! ☺️

If you plan to have breakfast in Kamakura, I recommend Cobakaba. Classic delicious Japanese breakfast sets featuring a grilled fish, miso soup, other small dishes with thick bitter robust black, just the way I loved😍

Found this small restaurant near Kamakura Station serving Japanese Style breakfast. I went there around 11:30 AM for an early lunch and had to queue for around 30 mins. I ordered the Salmon set and it came with some side dishes, soup, rice and tea. The Salmon was really tasty and probably one of the best I had. It was also thick, not like the Salmon in konbini bentos. The service was really great and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall highly recommend for people looking for a healthy japanese meal.

Yelp
This town closes early and opens late. This is the only breakfast place I found that opens before 9 am. Per my other posts, I love love the food in this beautiful country, but NOT breakfast. The only exception was Wander Kitchen, also in Kamakura. Cobakaba is cute and conveniently located in the retail hub of the city.

Yelp
Nice small restaurant. The "breakfast set" includes a fried egg, the yolk just firm enough to be manageable with chop sticks. Also accompanied by greens, nice cup of soup, and rice. The Americano is well made. It's one of the few restaurants around here that opens for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. The others start at 10:00 a.m. Where's a good restaurant that opens at 7:00 a.m.?
