Cobo Bay Hotel & The Beach Terrace

Lovely hotel right on the beach with fantastic westerly views that lead to some stunning sunsets. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times and did all they could to make our stay a memorable one. Tight parking at the front of the hotel but fine for a quick drop off; there is plenty of parking round the back, just make sure you get a card from reception to put on your dash to avoid any issues. Food was lovely at both breakfast and dinner, and the service was friendly and efficient. Our seaview room was clean and tidy although the shared balcony with next door room was "interesting" with nothing between the loungers etc. The hotel is about to close for an extended period for a major refurbishment and it will be interesting to see what this brings. We will be back and can highly recommend this hotel.

An Exceptional Stay at the Cobo Hotel Guernsey|If you are seeking a peaceful retreat to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the Cobo Hotel in Guernsey is an excellent choice. The hotel offers a tranquil environment, and guests will find themselves just steps away from a pristine, beautifully clean beach and the sparkling sea, is practically at your doorstep.||The staff at the Cobo Hotel are outstanding, always ready to assist and ensure a pleasant stay. Their friendliness and efficiency added greatly to the overall experience, making guests feel truly welcome.||Travel Experience and Ferry Booking Caution:|My trip was planned as a four-night stay with my granddaughter, from 15th September to 19th September. However, I would advise caution when booking ferry travel. Avoid booking through Direct Ferries, as they act as an agency and are not directly connected to ferry operators such as Condor or Brittany Ferries. Upon arrival from London on Monday the 15th, I encountered a long queue at the Brittany Ferries booking desk, only to discover that the sole ferry scheduled for that day had been cancelled due to inclement weather. Neither I nor many others received any notification of the cancellation. Attempts to contact Direct Ferries were futile, as their customer service was unresponsive and only provided automated chat (BOT) options without resolving the issue.||As a result, we had to secure last-minute accommodation in Poole, where basic hotels had significantly increased their prices due to the ferry cancellations. Factoring in taxis and the overnight stay at the Premier Inn, the additional cost amounted to £160.||Despite the travel disruption, the staff at Brittany Ferries in Poole were incredibly helpful. They worked diligently to rearrange both my outgoing and return ferry bookings by one day, as none of the affected passengers could reach Direct Ferries. ||I subsequently contacted the Cobo Beach Hotel to explain the situation and request an adjustment to our booking. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating, moving our four-night deal to 16th–20th September.||The Cobo Hotel itself was immaculate, with spotless rooms and exceptional breakfast included in the package each morning. Conveniently, there is now a local bus service at the ferry terminal that drops passengers just 100 yards from the hotel. A two-day travel pass is available to purchase for £11 on any bus (no need to go to the bus terminal to purchase). It made it easy to explore the island and head off from the beaten track. Nearby, there is a local shop and a traditional fish and chip kiosk offered delicious meals, with a takeaway dinner and drink costing around £10.||On the day of departure, the hotel kindly arranged a taxi for 8am, in line with my original ferry schedule. When Brittany Ferries notified me of an earlier 8am departure due to potential bad weather, the reception staff swiftly reorganised the taxi for 6am. They also thoughtfully provided packed breakfasts for me and my granddaughter the night before our departure.||I cannot recommend the Cobo Beach Hotel highly enough for its excellent location, outstanding staff, and the beautiful beach just outside the door. It was a memorable experience, and I fully intend to return in the future.

Great little hotel situated on the west coast of the island with one of the islands best beaches just across the road. Had a superior room with a partial sea view, good size room with a large king sized bed which was extremely comfortable. Bathroom decent size. No fridge or air conditioning in the rooms and you can’t use the apps on the smart TV. Breakfast was ok, they didn’t always get the order right but the staff overall were very friendly. I believe the hotel is about to begin a refurbishment which is needed. Whilst very nice it’s starting to look a bit dated in places.

An amazing small, family run boutique hotel. Location is perfect in every sense of the way. Right across the street from a gorgeous sandy beach. The staff at the hotel are all super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The room we had was small, but comfortable. We will opt for a sea view next time!

The staff at Cobo Bay were extremely kind. My booking was upgraded when I checked in, which was a nice surprise. I needed to be flexible with my dates, and Cobo Bay accommodated without any issue since I booked with them directly. The rooms were clean and the restaurant was very nice! Breakfast was fantastic every morning. The beds were a little firmer than I typically prefer, but the room itself was plenty big and the bathroom was also nice. One thing to note is that if you're planning on getting around Guernsey with public transit, you'll likely have to take the bus into St Peters Port first to get around to other places on the island. Or if you want to go on any tours, they'd all be leaving from the opposite side of the island. So it wasn't quite as convenient of a location for exploring the island without a car, but it's not impossible either. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel and at least 3 others within easy walking distance. If you're wanting a beach getaway, this is a great option since Cobo Bay is across the street from hotel. There's easy access to the beach. However, it's not a quiet location since the street is very busy and there's construction all around. So just be mindful of that as well. Eating on the terrace is nice, though, because there's a barrier between the restaurant and the street so it doesn't feel like you're right next to the traffic.

Just enjoyed a 4 night break over the balcony gig weekend with friends. Our first stay at Cobo Bay Hotel and we were so impressed with the incredible views, we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed our morning swims. The hotel staff, front of house, housekeeping, bar staff, waiting staff....you all provided an absolutely superb and professional service, nothing was too much trouble and you were all so very friendly and welcoming. You are all a credit to the owner and hotel. The food was very good, freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches, very delicious. We were so impressed and enjoyed our stay so very much, that we have already booked again for next year. It was our friend's first trip to Guernsey and our stay at Cobo Bay Hotel, enhanced his first impressions of the island and all it has to offer. Thank you Cobo Bay and see you again next year.

We actually stayed for our wedding anniversary exactly a year ago so when planning our celebrations again this year, it ticked the boxes for what we needed.||I have to admit our room didn't seem quite as good and in particular our balcony was smaller than last year, which was a floor below. I was quite taken aback to see our balcony loungers were literally side-by side with the loungers for the next room along with no dividers. You would literally with sitting shoulder to shoulder with next door which doesn't make for a romantic evening! Fortunately it would turn out that next door was unoccupied so we didn't have to deal with that awkward situation. The next room on from that was occupied however and whilst there is a single railing acting as a divider, there is still no privacy whatsoever and I was very conscious of another couple being there. I expect this is to ensure panoramic views from all balconies but it would be nicer to feel a bit more hidden when sitting out.|Other than that we really enjoyed watching the sunset after a dip in the sea with our robes on and a glass of fizz. A musician was playing guitar in the restaurant below which was an added bonus.|The room was small but nicely decorated and furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The room was stifling hot though. The fan was old and noisy and could only be plugged in over the other side of the room where it could be very much heard but not felt as all. Sockets by the bedsides and better fans or even air conditioning would be preferable. |Breakfast was very nice although I was told my choice (smashed avocado) wasn't available so I opted for the veggie breakfast instead which was very nice.|

We recently had our wedding reception at Cobo and I would highly recommend. The food tasted great, was served quickly and without any issues. The rooms were extremely clean with great views across the beach. All the staff were friendly and could not be more helpful throughout our day.

The food, service, decor and presentation here are immaculate. We had the seafood trio and the fillet steak (separately) and both were full of flavour and very well presented.
