I wanted to take a moment to provide feedback on my recent visit to your Coca-Cola facility. Overall, I had a highly positive experience and would like to express my appreciation for the opportunity to see behind the scenes of your operations.
First and foremost, I was impressed by the level of professionalism and hospitality demonstrated by your staff.
I am writing to bring your attention to a recurring issue regarding plastic waste on the grassy areas of our yard (please see pictures), specifically related to plastic door seals. It has come to my notice that after the drivers cut off the plastic door seals from trailers, they are frequently discarded in the vicinity, resulting in unsightly and environmentally harmful litter.
The accumulation of these plastic door seals poses several problems. Firstly, their presence on the yard grass detracts from the overall cleanliness and appearance of the area. This can create a negative impression for employees, visitors, and customers who observe the littered plastic waste scattered around.
Additionally, the environmental impact of this plastic waste cannot be overlooked. Plastic is known to be non-biodegradable and can persist in the environment for hundreds of years, causing harm to wildlife and ecosystems. If the plastic door seals are not properly disposed of, they may end up polluting nearby water bodies or getting carried away by wind, exacerbating the problem of plastic pollution.
To address this issue, I would like to propose the following actions:
1.Employee Awareness and Education: Conduct training sessions or awareness programs for drivers and other personnel to emphasize the importance of proper waste disposal. This can help create a sense of responsibility and encourage them to dispose of the plastic door seals appropriately.
2.Clearly Designated Disposal Areas: Install designated bins or containers in convenient locations around the yard specifically for the disposal of plastic door seals. Ensure that these containers are easily accessible and clearly marked, making it convenient for drivers to discard the plastic waste in the designated areas.
3.Regular Monitoring and Clean-up: Assign a responsible individual or team to monitor the yard regularly and promptly clean up any plastic waste that is found. This will help maintain a clean and litter-free environment, discouraging the improper disposal of plastic door seals.
4.Encouraging Recycling: Explore opportunities to collaborate with local recycling facilities or organizations to establish a system for recycling plastic door seals. By promoting recycling as an alternative to disposal, we can contribute to reducing the overall environmental impact of these plastic materials.
I strongly believe that taking proactive measures to address this issue will not only enhance the appearance of our yard but also demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship. By working together and implementing these suggestions, we can significantly reduce plastic waste and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious workplace.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am confident that with the collective effort of our team, we can effectively address the problem of plastic waste on the yard grass and promote a cleaner, greener environment.
Sincerely, Anatoly Fomim.
