The food is so good. Like some of the best. Their fried chicken with cornflake batter is really good. The chimichurra sauce is also really good. All the sides were amazing from their coconut rice to their queso corn, to the potatoes. Food also tasted of really good quality. My food came out fairly quick. I do with it came out a little hotter but it wasn’t cold or anything. Shoutout to the lady with blonde highlights working there who was super nice, made great recommendations and was helpful. Will definitely be back.

There was a screen to order from. Food cost for a meal in general is around 20$ or more. Our food cost 21$. Taste is good, it’s more like a buffet style setting - chairs and table. A bit cold when there aren’t people around.

I have been a huge fan of this place for the last 4 years. Never been inside but because I work in the area, I'm always ordering out. The only downside is my food takes over an hour every time I order and is cold when it arrives. Nothing a microwave can't fix. :) but even after reheating, I'm always so satisfied with this takeout order! I called once, to inquire about the wait and the woman who answered was very kind, and understanding, which says a lot when you call during peak lunchtime. Will continue to give my business and hopefully one of these days I can finally have the time to walk over and eat inside :)

As a regular customer on Uber Eats, no words can express my disappointment. I got scammed - this is the best way to put it. A week ago, I raised my concern that the portion size has been getting smaller directly with the store manager, who assured me that portions are “weighed and standardized.” Unfortunately, that claim doesn’t match my actual experience as a repeat customer. Since I don’t have a scale, I cannot verify what the manager said. And today, I got six tiny pieces of steak, and my order total was $27.32. I didn’t want to leave a bad review. But apparently talking with the manager doesn’t help. Running a business dishonestly is the fastest way to drive away loyal customers and run yourself out of business.

One of my most favourite place to eat. I would say dine is taste a lot better. Ingredient is very fresh and I think that reflect on the price. Seating is limited and usually very busy lunch hours. Staff is friendly and polite.

I have been a loyal customer of this place for a long time, and always recommended it to others. That said, there is a noticeable trend of declining portion size lately. I can even feel it lighter when I pick up. This is today's bowl, barely cover the bottom of the bowl.

I usually ordered lunch from this place because I love the skirt steak salad . Yesterday I had dinner there for the first time. The decor is pretty neat and bathroom is very clean. The only bad experience I had was when our group placed a large lunch order of about 16ish , it took more than two hours to deliver. Good foods takes time!

Such a cute place to grab a bowl for lunch, great variety of options to customize your plate, staff was very friendly and helpful for our questions about the menu. We took our take out to Bryant Park and it was just perfect ! I have only tried one fresh juice (the passion fruit one) and it was just so good ! 100% would recommend :-)

Cocina del Sur is a a great Latin restaurant serving up delicious Colombian food. I've been thoroughly impressed with the food here. I've only ordered from here twice and both times I ordered the strip steak but each time it's been great. I ordered the plate which comes with two sizes and the portion sizes are great. I got rice and tostones as my sides. Tostones were cooked perfectly. The rice was fluffy but a little greasy. I didn't specify how well I wanted my steak but I like that they cook it well done by default. It was nice and tender but not dry. The sauces are also spectacular. I've had the peppercorn and chimichurri and both are great. I slightly prefer the chimichurri though. I highly recommend this place if you want to have authentic Latin food with good seasoning.

Very tasty, fresh lunch portions. Hanger steak just a little overcooked and chewy. But, still, for the price of $21 with tax, a pretty good lunch option in midtown. Definitely will return.

This place isn't all that I expected it to be. FYI, there's no restroom here for the customers if you're looking for one. I ordered food for my coworker and myself on the tablet bc the employee at the front said to do so instead of ordering with the cashier. She helped out as I was on the tablet as I had questions about the orders. It was quite pricey for a salad in a bowl and $2-$4 more if you wanted a plate. Of course, I chose the salad bowl over the plate. I wouldn't go back as my coworker said that it was a rip-off as you get more salad than rice mixed inside. Plus, the price of the salad was $20, so it's definitely not worth the price. This place is one and done. At least you get the sauce on the side instead of them mixing it in the bowl.

Got this catered to my office. I got the shrimp tacos which came with a mango salsa. It was decent. Shrimp wasn't overcooked and dry which was good, but I wish it had more flavor. Tortillas were doubled up which is good.

This place is absolutely bomb The flavor in every dish is insane. I love the Caribbean Asian fusion. The way they carefully thought about every dish shows beyond measure. !! So so good you have to try the ox tails and the fried rice we fell in love !! everyone was super nice and greeted us. We absolutely would be coming back.

Great place for quick lunch on the go, fast casual type of place. Delicious and healthy menu choices, friendly service.

Update: I came back here and tried the recommendation from the owner - skirt steak plate with corn/queen, house salad and chimichurri sauce. It was delicious and all the ingredients felt very fresh (good flavor but not too salty). This is one of the pricier items on their menu, but highly recommend trying! The key is to definitely go with their recommendations as I do not feel like I created a good combo for myself last time.

The food here is great, albeit expensive, you get a decent portion. I usually will split a bowl into 2 meals. The one thing that has me debating on coming back or not is that every time I order, whether online or in-person, they forget something. Typically if it's a topping I don't go back as it's a 10 minute walk from my office, but when they forget dressing for a bowl, I have no choice. It takes up 20 minutes of my lunch when I have to do this. Please get better quality control before turning out orders!

Love the modern vibes!! Love the food!! Great service!! Grass fed steak is the way to go. Had the chilli pepper and mango salsa sauce. Great pairing and the passion fruit drink. Love that the food is really healthy too!

I need to add another star because I really love the food here. I would recommend getting anything with chicken since the chicken here is always seasoned well and juicy. The sweet plantains are delicious, and they cook them correctly. The service can be a bit slow, but they are very friendly. I mostly get the food to go, but they have tables and always have good music playing.

This place is the Bolay of Hispanic food!! I am so glad that I found this place. I've been here 6 times in the past two weeks because it's so close to my office. This place has decent prices and amazing portions. I'm a big eater and each time I can barely finish my bowl. If you're hungry, and you want tasty Hispanic food for a good price, this place is definitely my go to. Here's my recommendation on what to get in your bowl. I think the hanger steak is a MUST with the chimichurri sauce. They give you a lot of pieces and it's perfectly seasoned. For the sides, I'd recommend quinoa or cilantro rice, plantains, smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus!

The food was good. Really like the coconut rice and sweet plantains. Delivery person did NOT notify me of delivery, so food was not very hot when I got to it....

This was such a surprise - and honestly might have been one of the greatest fast casual restaurants I've visited in several years. The space is clean and comfortable, and I found the service to be fantastic. The value and quality for the price was excellent and my meal was flavorful and perfectly portioned. I'd highly recommend checking this spot out for a quick casual meal when in the area.

I order from this place often from work. I love the plates and bowls. Good selections and side dishes. I've never eaten at the restaurant, so I have no feedback on ambiance.

Convenient location for a filling meal - stopped by during lunch on the weekday and there was a long line of office workers from the area, so clearly it's a popular place! I got the salad and the serving size was large enough that I had a good amount for leftovers. There'a some seating in the front to dine in at but it's all self service.

Take out review. Great options to craft your bowl with good recommendations. Tried grilled chicken bowl, and perfectly cooked flavorful chicken with well sized portion healthy meal. The corn, mushroom and chimmicuri sauce were perfect combination. Must try !! Service is prompt and friendly.

Stopped in to this place after seeing such a long line yesterday, wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Best decision I have ever made! I was new to the menu, so the nice server at front helped walk me through the menu. I ordered a hanger steak salad with grilled corn, cherry tomatoes and sweet plantains with the chimichurri sauce on the side. Absolutely delicious! The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking and juicy, the corn flavorful as they grill them freshly in house, and the sweet plantains perfectly delectable! Cocina Del Sur also has a fabulous location with beautiful, quirky décor inside, great ambiance. Definitely will be making this place one of my regular go-to spots!

There are so many places in midtown where you can get mediocre food and Cocina Del Sur is not one of them! The quality of the food was the best I have ever had at a fast casual restaurant in NYC. The grilled shrimp was so flavorful and fresh and I love that you are able to choose your sides and sauces to customize your bowl, plate, or salad. I also loved their fresh pressed juice! I tried blackberry juice for the first time and now I am obsessed!

I work in the area and have ordered from the place a few times so far. They have been very consistent with the quality of food as it is always good. I had the bowls each time with cilantro rice chicken and or shrimp along with various topping. I was not thrilled about the steak or was too chewy but overall good food and quick delivery.

I like the salmon, mango salsa was great. Menu options a bit confusing I ended up ordering 3 vegetables sides which were too much. Paying $20 For Lunch is over my budget.

Terrific lunch option. Tried this place for the first time last week and kicked myself a bit for not trying it earlier! Ordering thru Yelp/Grubhub was easy and fast, my food was ready in 15 min when I placed my order around 12:45pm. When picking up my food, since the space is long and narrow, glad to see they are enforcing social distancing with a designated ordering line and separate pick up line, with stickers on the ground indicating where waiting customers can stand 6 feet apart. They have plates, bowls and salad options and I opted for a bowl. Similar to other fast/casual places you choose a base and add a protein, 2-3 sides and a sauce. I went with grilled organic chicken, roasted zucchini, snow peas and green beans, and fried sweet plantains over coconut rice. Some reviews mentioned their chimichurri sauce, so I thought why not give it a shot? Yummmm. So glad I did! So tasty and went great with the chicken. Every item in the bowl was fresh and delicious. Coconut rice was short grain rice with a savory and slightly sweet coconut flavor. Grilled chicken had flavor but not too salty or overly dry. The veg items were both good and the plantains were perfect. Definitely will be returning to try other items.

My go to lunch spot when I work from the city. I usually get fish white rice back beans with chimichurri sauce with a natural homemade juice can't go wrong with this place. Service unfortunately is a hit or miss though.

We live about a block & a half from this place and we must go or have it delivered at least 2-3 times a week. Everything is super super fresh & the portions are large. The chicken is high quality & white meat only. Their tomatillo sauce is incredible. I get a quinoa bowl with chicken, corn, tomatoes, crispy onions, sweet potatoes, avocado & queso...with pico de gallo & tomatillo sauce. It's about $20 & it's HUGE! I divide it in half & eat it for lunch & dinner. You'll be addicted.

Picked up lunch from Cocina Del Sur this past week. Service was very friendly and food came out relatively quickly. Next time I'll order ahead though. Food itself was pretty good. They were out of salmon so I had shrimp over lettuce, with potatoes and green beans. The shrimp itself was good but the salad was mostly lettuce (lots and lots and lots of lettuce) and very little else. Potatoes were very greasy so I wouldn't order those again either. Prices are high for sure when compared to my go to Dig Inn. Overall: I'll return but I'll definitely try something else that isn't lettuce based!

Cocina Del Sur is a flavorful South American fast casual place in Midtown West. It was like a Chipotle with South American flavors. The food was so tasty, service is great and seating was sparse. K and I met friends for dinner here one night. We really appreciated that they were open until 9 pm since since some people were coming from Jersey and we were arriving from work. I didn't get there until 6:30pm. The fruits for the beverages were imported from South America. The blackberry drink was so refreshing and terrific with the bowl. I've never had the guanábana or sour sop before! It tasted like drinking a combo of pineapple, plantain and banana taste and flavor. Very interesting. I was glad to try it. We shared the following: Arepa- this was so crunchy on the outside with such a cheesy inner filling. I'm used to arepas to be stuffed inside so this was more like a fried cheese disc added to the bowl. Shrimp plate with coconut rice and sweet plantains and mango. The shrimp was juicy and well flavored. I would love to try the coconut rice next time. Grass fed skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, quinoa and salad bowl with roasted brussel sprouts, sweet plantains, roasted corn and jalapenos. The roasted vegetables had a umami flavor and were sweet. The steak was a little dry but still flavorful. I enjoyed the sweetness of the plantains and the umami flavor of the roasted corn and brussel sprouts. The jalapenos were spicy and pickled. I would skip this next time. Fried chicken with roasted corn, roasted brussel sprouts, roasted cauliflower and sauteed mushrooms in a lettuce/quinoa bowl. The fried chicken was crunchy and juicy inside. The vegetables were a wonderful mix. It felt very healthy to eat. I would definitely return for a lunch or a fast casual dinner. I would reorder the chicken bowl and the blackberry drink or try the grass fed hanger steak.

Wholesome ingredients with lots of Latin flavors and a variety of fixings to choose from! Attend a Yelp event here and was able to sample a bit of everything on the menu. The chicken was moist, which goes well with the chimichurri. I was shocked at how well seasoned it was and well-cooked given the fast-food aspect of the restaurant. The salmon and tofu were also amazing. I really enjoyed all the different fixings (brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mango salsa, pico de gallo, plantains, corn, and etc.) My top favorites were the cauliflower, mango salsa, and plantains. And of course, the most amazing coconut rice. Del Sur allows you to make your own plate/bowl similar to other fast-food restaurants, but they really focus on the quality and the flavors. Will definitely be adding this to my lunch/dinner options! PSA - Don't miss out on the juices. Highly recommend mango and passion fruit!

SOLID CHOICE. if you want good and health conscious food for a good price in Manhattan, try this place. It's pretty easy and most people will find something to their liking. You basically pick a protein and build it out. The salmon was fresh and prepared and served well. The sides were good. I was happy to find tostones, which is very hard to find where I live in California. The chimichurri was pretty authentic as well. Very nice spot for lunch or a casual grab and go dinner.

When you walk in you're hit by bold, bright colors. There is some seating, but this is a great place to go to grab lunch or dinner to go. I have tried the steak, which is very well seasoned and tender. The chicken is good, but I think the steak it better. The tofu is very flavorful and a great vegetarian option. The coconut rice is what blends the bowl together, with the subtle sweetness and flavor. You can also add Brussel sprouts, corn, and crispy onions, plantains, and a vast array of other toppings to brighten up your bowl. They have multiple hot sauces to choose from.

My favorite restaurant for buying salads (granted they're not healthy salads) and this is my go-to lunch spot during the work week! The staff are very nice and service is fast and efficient 1 - 3pm I know for sure. My favorite meal is either a Salad with organic grilled chicken, chick peas, roasted corn, quinoa, and house dressing, or a cilantro rice bowl with organic steak, roasted corn, asparagus, and chimichurri sauce. Both are so good and made with unexplainable perfection that I just can't replicate at home! It is pricey but I suppose compared to Just Salad or any other salad place which is $2-4 cheaper it's worth the $13+ *No deals, no discounts, no loyalty program, no planet saving bowls, but MealPal is used for the techies that care. There is indoor seating and free self-serve fruit-infused water.*

I never really give Yelp reviews but I'm making an exception because I love this place. I go here every week for lunch and it's my favorite place to eat for takeout. The customer service is always impeccable (shout out to Carlos) and the food is always delicious. I am also absolutely obsessed with their plantains and wish they have larger portions to purchase so I can buy more. I've been to many places and haven't quite found well done plantains until I discovered this place. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend!

Located close to the Hotel Hendricks where I stay for work and our office, this is popular spot for lunch. The tomatillo sauce (not pictured) was so delicious - I tried to pick up a jar of it to take back home on my last day but they were out. Next time! Super fresh and delicious!

The Cocina Del Sur is a great place for healthy food especially if you have dietary restrictions. The fact that it is in midtown helps if you are working in the area too. Not only do they serve healthy food but they also have delicious options. We ordered their Choose your Meal Plate which was 1 protein, a sauce, and 2 sides so we got their Chicken as the protein, Brussels sprouts, and cilantro rice as the sides and Chimichurri sauce. The chicken was grilled and organic. It had a moist and tender with savory and slightly smoky taste. Topped with Chimichurri sauce was even better. The Chimichurri sauce gave it tangy and a bit of a spicy kick. If you love herbs like parsley and cilantro, you'll like this. The cilantro rice was made with cilantro of course and White Basmati Rice with a bit of Lime. As for the Brussels Sprouts they were Roasted with Olive Oil & chili flakes so they were also deliciously spicy as well.

I stopped by here today for dinner and had the steak with rice and green string bean plate via Mealpal order. First thing off the bat that I noticed was that Mealpal orders are significantly smaller than if you were to order straight off the menu. Oh wells, I guess you get what you pay for. Upon walking in, I noticed that there was nobody at register to greet the customers and I can only see cooks behind the glass window working. I went to the restroom hoping that someone will be at the register to take my order when I'm done with my business. There was still nobody at the register until about 5 minutes passed after I entered the restaurant. Someone finally took my order and fixed up my dish in a matter of minutes. The first thing that caught my attention was the rice. This was one of the most fragrant rice servings that I've ever had. Not sure what kind of rice it was, (could've been coconut) but it was delicious. The steak was flank steak and it was done extremely well. Steak was a bit on the rough side, but was still flavorful nevertheless. Star of the show for this dish was definitely the rice out of all things. The restaurant was empty aside from 1 other party when I walked in. The music was blasted and the venue was generally kept clean. They actually provide silverware instead of cheap flimsy plastic forks and knives, so thats sorta a plus in my book.

Decided on ordering Cocina Del Sur for lunch and I could not have been any happier. Though they are a bit pricy both the quality and quantity of the food is so much better than some of the other latin bowl type restaurants around here. Everything was packaged great which is always something I pay attention to it just shows how the restaurant is run in general. The food was amazing the steak was extremely tasty not bland at all and so was the rice and tostones. I definitely want to begin eating better and actually working out more so I enjoy finding small spots like this that still have many options and amazing food.

High quality hearty dishes made well. This is my favorite spot in the area to get lunch and early dinners.

I'll probably eat here everyday if it were more affordable (had a 20% discount applied and still ended up paying $13 -- which is pretty pricey for lunch with a discount). The food here is absolutely DELICIOUS! I mean, I haven't come across anything like it. Maybe Chipotle, Qdoba... but truthfully comparing Cocina Del Sur to either one of those is kind of disrespectful. The ingredients here are fresh, the food is filling -- yet you don't feel heavy or sluggish after eating. Ohhh... and their fresh juices? Must Try! Definitely recommend -- 10000%. I won't get too deep into the review because I rather you experience it for yourself. Glad to know the food was consistent from my first encounter here at a YEE. I hope the food stays consistent throughout the years!

A hidden gem in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Midtown Manhattan. Came across today 12/30/22. Very authentic and healthy and absolutely delicious. My daughter just said she would go out of her way to go back to eat again. We live over an hour away. Highly recommend!!

Randomly found this place on seamless last week and ordered... I've now ordered it 4 times since then and every night I ate something else I knew in my heart all I really wanted was Del Sur. The cheesy arepas are always hot and fresh, well... everything is always crazy hot and fresh! Make sure you order a jar of the peppercorn sauce with your meal. If you make the mistake of only ordering a small side you'll be deeply sorry you didn't get more so your could dump it over your entire meal and increase your surrrrrrious state of ecstasy. Thank you for staying clean, fresh, and seriously tasty Del Sur!

I love the concept and the menu looked good. But..... it was flavorless. I got a bowl with quinoa, skirt steak, mushrooms, roasted zucchini and smashed potatoes. I choose the chimichurri sauce. The oil in the chimichurri tasted like vegetable oil or something not high quality. The smashed potatoes were pretty dry. It was around 8pm so it seemed like they were not at their freshest. The food was a bit of a letdown. The pro's were that the design is nice, the staff was very friendly, and the food came quick.
