Highly recommend. Immediately upon walking in Warm in January. Clean bright atmosphere. Great service waitress was so nice and friendly. Freshest Mexican food I have ever tasted in a restaurant. Best mole sauce I’ve ever had hands down. Hot chocolate and white mocha were amazing. So so good.

SO GOOD. Husband and I came for breakfast and I got the breakfast memelitas, he got the pastor chilaquilas oaxaquenos. His dish was so flavorful and earthy, the mole was magnificent and the pastor was the best we've had in a long time. My memelitas was super fresh and delicious! The red salsa was a little hot for me but the verde was delicious. Also got a Mexican mocha and some rice and beans that were perfect! Great music and the sound of cooking food made for a great atmosphere as well, very cozy

During our recent trip to the Redwood Forest, we stayed in Eureka and happened to stumble upon an absolute gem of a Mexican restaurant. Coming from an area known for its wide variety of Mexican eateries, we weren’t expecting to be so thoroughly impressed, but this place completely blew us away. The food is unbelievably flavorful, fresh, and rooted in rich traditional recipes. I had the special of the day, chile verde, and it was nothing short of amazing. Each bite was packed with depth and perfectly balanced spices. Our family members ordered burritos, and everyone at the table was raving about how delicious they were. The service was equally outstanding. Our waitress was warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. Since we were traveling with our dog, our group had to split between indoor and outdoor seating, and she made sure everyone felt welcome and well taken care of. The chef’s talent is undeniable, every dish tasted like a labor of love. The restaurant also has plenty of parking, which made the visit even more convenient. If you're in the Eureka area and looking for truly authentic Oaxaqueñan food, this place is a must-visit. We can't wait to return!

We were traveling through and wanted some lunch. Noticed the reviews and the Tortas that someone else reviewed. Had to stop. This place might be off the beaten path if you're just passing through, but do yourself a favor and stop. It's very delicious and the staff goes beyond to make sure you're satisfied.

I ordered the chicken Verde tamale and my husband got the mole. Food arrived a lot faster than we expected and the Jamaica which was perfectly not too sweet with a freshing lime flavor as well surprised us by having free refills. Our waitress was attentive and answered all our questions with a smile and kept checking in to make sure we didn't need anything. 10/10 on every count- we will definitely be back

My boyfriend has been waiting to show me this place and I absolutely wish I would have tried it sooner! The food was AMAZING and so was the staff! Will be recommending this place to all my friends and family and will definitely be eating here every time I'm in town!

I recently moved to this part of Eureka and I was looking for a new go to for good hot drinks and breakfast burritos. I hit the jackpot here! The best Mexican Mocha/ Mexican hot chocolate and of course great burritos as well as food. I love that it is owned and operated locally. I have been working my way through the menu. If you come in the morning you likely will see the freshly made tortillas being pressed. How lucky am I!

The server was very friendly and helpful, really set a nice tone for our visit. The place is small but there were some open tables. My espresso was smooth, more burnt than acidic, which is fine because I like it that way. The Nachoes were tasty. The tortilla chips seemed homemade, were quite oily looking. The jalapeños and pickled carrots really made it. I would have liked it if some salsa came with the Nachoes.

Really good food! This was our first stop when we landed and we weren't disappointed! We had the red sauce enchiladas and the chilaquiles with green sauce. Both brought a bit of heat but still filling and delicious. The red sauce reminded me a bit of mole. Both plates were demolished. Waiter was nice and friendly. Space is small but the food was good. They have a little parking lot in the front.

Ordered the super quesadilla. Unique flavor with lots of veggies. Shredded chicken has a great flavor. It's very good accompanied with the verde sauce. Great service staff. Plenty of table while you are enjoying the Mexican music. Must place. To try if you are in the area.

Friendly, prompt service and a huge menu! Breakfast all day. Both of our lunch items were good, although I would definitely opt for the shredded chicken. The grilled chicken was a bit dry.

When I lived there, that was the best place in town . I will make a point of always stopping there to meet my family because it's a small convenient place. Great homemade quality food, I don't think it's Sysco food products, Breakfast is great also. The staff is super friendly and personable.

Great little Mexican place. They serve breakfast all day, but we opted for dinner. Food portions are generous, and the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly. It felt very welcoming here.

Excellent grilled shrimp street tacos... Actually a little larger than a street taco. The other half had a chicken mushroom everything quesadilla... Also delicious. If it hadn't been so late, we would've also had a flan for dessert. A wonderfully cheery gal waited on us, which made For a fabulous evening.

Best pastor I've had in a long time. I was asked if I wanted pineapple in the tacos I ordered, anticipating that different people have different preferences on this. I will be back.

I had a serious craving for carne asada, so I decided to try this place. After eating the burrito, I still have a serious craving for carne asada. It was packed--with everything but the meat. The rice and beans were decent, but they made up about 90% of the whole thing. Growing up, my mom used to stretch dinner by filling our plates with rice and beans to make a little go a long way. So Cocina Oaxaqueña, I see your game. I would've loved to judge the quality or flavor, but the few bites I managed to find were lost in all the filler--way too many ingredients for a burrito. For $16.63, I expected way more. Disappointing. Definitely not coming back.

My friend, Arturo found this place, looking for the post office today, and he brought home some of his burrito, giving a glowing review! Hr said the service was impeccable, and the owner and staff very wonderful people. Recommend to everyone. Value

Wow, what a nice surprise to find such delicious Mexican food in Humboldt county. We had such a great experience finding this place when we passed through on vacation. Really nice servers and excellent food. We rarely leave clean plates like this but the food was phenomenal.

Third time here and I just keep on loving it. Coming from LA & eating Mexican food my whole life... this place has the sazon just like home Honestly look at the Jamaica, perfect drink not too sweet & so refreshing. Staff are super friendly and hard working. My home away from home.

We found this place while visiting here in Eureka. What a gem. The place was very clean, the service was good and the food was delicious. Esoecially the chorizo. They even have mocha and lattes. Glad we found this gem.

I am so relieved to have found this place. The best Mexican food in Eureka by far. It's bright, cheerful, and friendly but more importantly the food is excellent. Everything is super fresh and flavorful. The beans and rice are perfect too! They have a variety of traditional breakfasts and a full espresso menu. Please support this local treasure.

We had such a great dinner at Cocina Oaxaqueña! It's a charming little restaurant with cheerful decorations, and both our waitress and the chef were very warm & welcoming. Their chips & salsa ($3) were tasty and fresh, and their al pastor (w/ juicy chunks of pineapple) and chicken mole were delicious. The tortillas tasted really good, like they were homemade from scratch. We're excited to come back here & try their breakfast and some of their yummy specialty coffee drinks!

A total treasure here in Cutten. I eat here a couple times a week. I love their tortas, fajitas, salads and breakfast offerings. Glad we have something like Cocina Oaxaqueña... I wish they were open longer hours.

Super cute spot. Probably the best chilaquiles I have ever had. The meat was really tender and the green sauce was just perfectly spicy. Yum yum yum My husband has the quesobirra special and inhaled it....the soup was so flavorful. So happy we stopped!

Amazing food! They are great about food allergies. The food is home cooking my tortillas were made to order and I cannot even put into words how good this place is. I'm so sad they are not by my home and we are only traveling through town

Cute little spot with a super tasty mole! I got the chilaquilles Oaxaqueña with Al Pastor. The pork was tender and delicious and the mole was deeply tasty! My son got a burrito bowl with grilled chicken which basic but delicious. Service super friendly and our food was delivered in under 10 min.

Food was delicious and the staff was amazing! My husband and I came here for breakfast. I ordered the enfrijoletas with no meat and my husband got the breakfast burrito. So yummy! My order came with spicy red sauce. I didn't need to use all of it. My husband's burrito came with a tasty verde sauce. I also got a white mocha. It didn't come with whip, which I prefer, and had instead delicious foam. My husband got the horchata, which we also found tasty. Basically everything was perfect. We will visit again.

We stopped here on our way to the sequoia park zoo. The tacos were well portioned and extremely flavorful, with a generous side of salsa verde and guacamole. Quesadillas also very solid, well portioned and rich. The owners treated us very well and take very good care of the restaurant itself. Highly recommended if you are in the area!

Very good food. We always try to have the specialty of the house and they have a few. Everything tasted fresh even we arrived on a Friday evening not long before closing time. This place is kind of out of the way, so I'm not going to say you should go out of your way to get here, but you might. It's small, but being out of the way probably means it doesn't get overrun. Server--who might have been one of the owners--was attentive and obliging when we wanted to sample one of the dishes before ordering.

I love Mexican cuisine. I just returned from several weeks in Guadalajara. Today I found myself in Eureka and with a craving for Mexican. First of all, the place is very clean and bright. Service was excellent. I ordered the chilaquiles verde with chorizo and scrambled eggs. Outstanding! Possibly the best chilaquiles I've had in the States. If I lived in Eureka I'd be here every morning!!

We were traveling and this place was close to where we stayed. Kind of small local place, the service was prompt, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was clean and bright. There was cheerful music playing. We enjoyed chilaquiles, one verde/green and one mole with avocado.The eggs were cooked perfectly. We would probably go there all the time if we lived nearby.

Solid food - we ordered chilaquiles, one with verde & one with mole. Service was fast - one waitress & one cook for 5 tables at time of our visit (late morning). Kitschy ambiance - I dig it. Our coffees were served in jarritos. Cute!

We were on our way up north and were looking for a place to eat breakfast. After looking up locations, this restaurant made the cut. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant and we were seated right away. There were only two other parties. After taking our order, the young lady quickly brought our our drinks and soon after our food. There were 7 of us, and a whole lot of food. The food came out hot and it was delicious. My dish was my favorite. It was a Mexican skillet and it was full of flavor. The chilaquiles order felt like it was missing beans to tie the dish together. I would opt out of getting the regular coffee. It tasted a bit burnt. Overall, great experience and the server and cook were super friendly.

The food was amazing we had breakfast, service was great. The server was very attentive and accommodating. The restaurant was super clean and music playing in the background not too loud. We will definitely come back if we are in Eureka again.

Bring your appetite, portions are very generous. A refreshing change from many Mexican restaurants, the offerings here reflect the different tastes native to Oaxaca. Black refrieds instead of the typical pinto beans and a less jalapeño more subtly spiced salsa. Pleasantly decorated with Mexican knickknacks and very clean. The service and food were outstanding.

Delicious chilaquiles and carne and caramel latte was so delicious. Coffee was strong but taste of caramel didn't get lost. Waitress and cook were very friendly and service was very prompt. If I'm in the area again will definitely be back!

Small but delightful place with excellent food. Everything I've eaten here has been so tasty. As I live a few blocks away, it's become my go-to fast food place. One of my favorites is the breakfast burrito .. it's large enough for two people! I'm happy they are here!
