This was an unforgettable experience. It was a new level of night club. I truly recommend anyone to go to this experience because for only $100 we got everything included (limited drinks options) with a fantastic show and phenomenal service. The shots were small and the drinks were mid and strong but they were unlimited so that didn't matter much. Special shout out to Marlon who was awesome! The bathroom attendants were so sweet and I have never been to a place that had people specifically assigned to the bathrooms. My friend and I got upgraded seats and even got to dance on the big stage several times! They really do their best to make all of the ladies feel special and I love that energy. People get put on the big screen regularly and it gets switched up and it is so fun! The people performing are BEYOND talented and every act just blew me away again. I had this on my bucket list for Mexico and I am truly glad I went. I would add more photos but I don't want to give too many spoilers

Coco Bongo is an absolute must-visit if you’re in or near Playa del Carmen! The energy, entertainment, and performances were simply out of this world — every act was spectacular. The music lineup was perfect, blending today’s hits with timeless classics that kept everyone on their feet all night. A special shoutout to Wendy, who delivered truly outstanding service — 11/10! She kept the drinks and shots flowing and made the whole night even more fun and unforgettable. Can’t wait to go back for another incredible experience!

Google
The place was really fun and very lively and it shows were indeed very cool. On the other hand when you walk into this place you need to expect shoulder to shoulder standing only a minimum $85 per person just to get in and I only comes with possibly five drinks. If you want to have a table to hang out at or anything else it's extra money starting at $125 per table. Be very careful when approached by their outside people trying to get you in they will explain deals to you that are not sincere it is not to me really worth the opinion of the money spent

Google
Highly recommended to go. Had a fun night here and the shows they do are awesome. Staff are always checking on you if you need drinks. Definitely get a table to enjoy more of the night.

Google
Freaking amazing!!! My husband and I didn't drink and we still had a blast. Our server checked on us alot. Came thru with food several times. I can't comment on that as we didn't try. The performers were amazing! We saw a couple of people drop and break bottles and they were cleaned up as soon as they hit the floor. We felt very safe with all of the security. The ladies room was very clean. I highly recommended spending the money to try it out

Absolutely fabulous! Just be prepared or the crowds. Service can be slow but it's understandable. Food is not great. For drinks, I recommend beer.

Google
Terrific night from start to finish, picked up from our hotel in an air conditioned bus. On arrival in Playa Del Carmen told where and what time bus would be there at the end of the night. Taken to Coco Bongos waited about 10 mins max until we were admitted. Shown to our raised seats with a side view to the stage. Immediately our waiter brought us drinks and continued the whole night as soon as there was a happy glass he was there with a new one and nice drinks not too strong. Basket snacks of either burger, hotdog or nachos with fries served during the show. Great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and toilets were immaculate. The show itself self was terrific with so much going on you didn’t know where to look! We went on a Saturday and was busy so not sure if it’s the same every night. Would definitely recommend if your in Playa Del Carmen a not to be missed evening.

Also thanks to Guillermo at the ticket booth for the free merch 😊

Yelp

Yelp
What an interesting experience! We got a promotion for Coco Bongo through our resort and they offered transportation to and from the club. We were drooped off around the corner from the place which was sketch but it was fine. We did not buy VIP tickets so we stood in line for awhile and the people watching on that street was great! There was also a large police presence driving the streets with large ..instruments.. in case people were rowdy. Once we got in the it was PACKED. Think like a Vegas night club but then they start doing awesome aerial acrobatics ! We saw a Magic-Mike-esque show, a burlesque portion, Beetlejuice, 60s rockers and it was fantastic. I guess you could get free hot dogs and drinks (we only got a couple of drinks) but it was fun. Because we didn't get VIP they rotate general admission every 5 mins which gets annoying but my husband paid a waiter $20 and he got us in VIP. in between the shows it was like a regular club and it was so cool! We unfortunately had to leave early so we didn't see the whole show but I'm sure it still would have been so fun! Just be prepared to be stuffed in like a

Yelp
The food is just okay we got inclusive food with the gold VIP tickets. The service is good the servers are hustling to earn their tips. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a club/show lights lasers great music. Now here's the bad and why I gave a 4 star review. We paid extra for Gold VIP tickets and they took us all the way to the top section and sat us where even standing up you can't see the show. The stalls were so cramped that you had zero elbow room to even sip your drink. I understand they have to maximize the money they make but I seen no limit to haw many people they let in. I finally had to say something to the server and immediately they said we can upgrade you for $120 to get a table. I kept complaining and just asked for a refund and they moved us where we could see the show and breath and enjoy our drinks.

Yelp
This was a WHOLE vibe. This was the best show and fun club mix. Definitely reminded me of Vegas but so much better. This was an acrobatic show from the dancers dancing to Beyonce to a Spiderman show to LMFAO and ending with the GOAT, MICHAEL JACKSON!! We were in th standing room and although I wish we were sitting, it was a vibe just to be able to dance and enjoy the moment. Confetti. Balloons. Just all around fun. When the dancers were changing costumes, it turned to being a dance club. With the price, you get unlimited drinks, nachos, fries included. The servers are very attentive and want you to have a good time. The festivities begin at 11 and doors open at 10pm. If you are not VIP then you will be standing in the line. This was a whole vibe.

Maria P.

Yelp
Zero stars if I could. Honestly the worst experience. They pack you in like sardines, the workers bull doze you down, not to mention the scams of going upstairs depends on who you ask but price varies by every worker. Not to mention the wait even when you book in advance. Save your money and go somewhere else.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Crazy performance! Aerobatics, dancing, and music, it was like cirque de soleil but more interactive. We were so close to the stage. Some people got on stage! We got the standing room and would recommend getting a seat if you get tired easily. I didn't get to get the food but drinks were unlimited with the tickets we got. It was tough to get around the crowd, but it was a spectacular few hours seeing the talent that the people put into the show. Can't wait to come again!

Yelp
Best time of my life. Really enjoyed it. It was amazing. 1-star review for dissing the American flag.
google avatar

Jody G.

Yelp
All the five star reviews are right. Well worth $140 with the 2 bottle service and table. Jose our waiter was on point with keeping us refreshed. Our service agent Axel treated us with lots of love. This place is well worth coming back.

Yelp
Where do I start. Okay so first we were there and the lines get super long but I will say that it is very worth it once you get inside especially if you're looking to have a great time. They had girls dancing on the stage when we got in and they also gave us a welcome and drink which was cool. If you are someone who do not like standing you don't want to get the general admission which is what we got. There will also people who were sitting up higher where they were able to view the show however I felt that they were not able to mingle dance and party like everyone else because they were sitting up there. But they were able to see the show from a better view because they had those seats so keep this in mind when you go here depending on the Bob that you want to get. But the show was absolutely amazing! Rveryone there was super talented and we were not bored not one big. I highly recommend checking out one of these locations if you are in the area where they had one!
google avatar

Alejandra R.

Yelp
We purchased the gold member tickets and thank goodness we did! We didn't have to wait in line to get in. We were seated and had enough room to dance in that area. General admission ends up crowded like sardines (I don't recommend). I was fighting for my life to get through to the bathroom! Our drinks kept coming along with snacks. The show isn't out of this world but it's a great ambiance and recommend the experience.

Dekenia N.

Yelp
The servers/service ruined the whole experience. The server was rude and forceful ( he stepped on my foot and ripped a hole in my shoe). They kicked us off of a table we had already paid for. The establishment sold us packages and didn't deliver AND DID NOT RETURN THE MONEY!!!! Imagine a party of 16 people ages 30-50 standing up for a 4 hour show around a table intended to hold 4 people?!? No point in purchasing a VIP package or open bar. They won't honor it. They won't bring you wine or water without multiple asks (still never got the wine). They will pack in as many people as they can without care and concern for the comfort or personal space of higher paying guests. The show itself was amazing and a great enhanced club experience in terms of performance and entertainment. My neck just hurt from having to extend upwards at the attractions on the top stage for the majority of the performances.
google avatar

PJ L.

Yelp
So much fun! So many laughs! Such a great time! I can't say enough about the performers, waiters, security and bartenders. They really know how to party and make every night unique.
google avatar

Yelp
Great fun place. Show and party all in one spot. Loved the vibe and music. Was packed on Saturday but lines go fast
google avatar

Yelp
A total scam save your money, you will not get what is promised by the people who sell you the admission ticket.

Andy G.

Yelp
The promoters here are straight thieves. They stole money for an extra person that wasn't there. They promised tables and weren't able to provide had to pay extra just to get to the front. This place is just not it when it comes to anyone outside. The club it's self inside is okay I wouldn't come back alot of the bartenders at the main bar had attitudes . The food servers though were good they stayed on top of their stuff overall if you do come be very careful with the promoters come at your own risk

Yelp
Good: If your ever in Cancun or Playa Del Carmen you need to check out Coco Bongo. One of the most exhilarating experiences. It's starts at 10pm and is a non stop 4 1/2 hour roller coaster ride with theatrical shows, flying stunts, and non stop club music. Admission includes drinks, food and non stop Puro Pinche Party. Advice: Get seats in the middle to be in the action. Outer upper level seats are VIP for show. But you can see show from the middle Floor and lower podium seats. Downside: Also says bottle service with VIP online and they didn't honor it. Also don't expect the included meals are going to satisfy. Get something before. Food is for a 5th grader. Hot dogs and mini burgers with fries. Teddy Castro #cocobongocancun #cocobongoplayadelcarmen #amazing #exhilarating #partymode #letsgo #allgasnobrakes #tc #teddyc #teddycastro

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by a ticket seller in our resort. $90 per person that apparently included: the admission fee, transport to location and back to hotel and some drinks and food. We got there by bus, had to walk about 10 min to the club, the line was huge but we were able to pay $10 to get in front of the line. While inside we experienced the worst hard sales for getting a table, which required for us to buy a min of $300 in bottle service. They didn't allow us to sit anywhere, had to stand, got no drinks besides non alcoholic, It was a mess.. horrible place... unclear what it's supposed to be.. a club, a restaurant.. a cirque? DO NOT by any chance visit or waste money on this place.
google avatar

Yelp
This was the biggest scam ever. Do NOT book. Complete disappointment and failure from the sales representative to set realistic expectations. What to expect: waiting in line for about 45 minutes, only to be disappointed that the place is extremely overpacked. It was ridiculous. If you want to skip the line, you're asked to pay another 10 dollars. We went on a Sunday. We were literally breathing at the necks of the people sitting on the ledge infront of us. Mind you we were standing because there were zero seats to be found. We could not move to grab drinks. We couldn't last longer than 10 to 15 minutes in the place. We left. We were a group of 5 people. We paid a total of 400 USD. Never got a refund although the representative at the door who found us at the exit said we would be able to get one. Had we known about the VIP or gold member options at the start that might have been helpful. Anyhow, given what we saw, as a "regular ticket" this should have been priced at no more than 50 to 60 dollars per person in my humble opinion. Going to a regular nightclub would've made more sense. As soon as you step into the place you're taken underground and once you've passed through security you are shown the way by some person holding up a flashlight. You're then forced to go up these flight of stairs and to shove your way between people (because again overbooked, overpacked, stuffy). I can't speak to the show because all we saw upon entering were ladies dancing on the stage in the center of the place. Like I said, the place and set up did not meet our expectations at all. We were told we would be given a table, snacks, and drinks so we had the idea of something like a theatre performance type of thing. If you don't mind standing for 5 hours, not even being able to grab a drink, to watch people perform through a large screen because it's overpacked then perhaps this is a place you'd be interested in.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place but after my experience all I can stay -- not worth it and they don't treat their staff right...this should tell you all. after my experience tonight, this place is not being run like a business. Customer experience is selective. Don't spend your money paying for VIP because sadly there's no different from general admission other than you get a chair I came with a group of friends, upon entering the security stop me after letting all my friends in. When I told him that I need to stay with them, ignore what I said... so I crossed the gate for security reasons, no 25 year old girl should be left behind by herself. When I tried crossing gate, he yelled at me in front of everyone. This should not happens in a place as "prestigious" as Cocobongo. We also paid $40 extra per person to upgrade to VIP, which resulted in us getting seats all the way on the top where you couldn't even see the performance... ofcourse we didn't stay there and ask for better seat but nobody was helpful...AND we didn't get any of the "perks" of being VIP. After 2 hours of enjoying the show, they noticed that they charged us the wrong amount. I believe it was a math error on the part who knows. Management told the seller of our tickets that he would have to pay for the additional amount if we didn't. EXCUSE ME.. WHAT... for a company that is bringing in about 20k per night. They can afford to comp the mistake. Absurd. Management took about 30 mins from the show to address this issue... I think they need to revalue who is the general manager of the Playa Del Carmen location. If you are from Cocobongo and see this review, I am happy to connect with you regarding this. I am sure I am not the only person who has experience this. Sorry for typos - I am writing this during show because no entertainment business should behind like.

Jazmin G.

Yelp
They kicked my husband for no reason after we got a $3000 table pretty sure to get someone in that table. Este lugar es una estafa!

Yelp
Amazing experience! I visited CoCo Bongo during my birthday vacation in February (pre-corona). I had been on a group travel trip and the host recommended we visit the venue for our last night in town. She mentioned it as a great experience but pricey. It cost us about ~$70-75 which is pricey but honestly, it was worth it. About 15 of us attended. For the cost, we were given our own table (no chairs) and open bar. The experience is a fusion of a live action show within a club atmosphere. Portions of the night include a modern acrobatic/dance show featuring popular all-time hits curated to a theme. In between acts, there is a DJ and staff encouraging you to dance. I mean, there was confetti and lots of lights and music. The music is a great variety - everything from reggae tone, hip-hop, EDM, and even rock. Staff encouraged the ladies get on stage and dance. The stage is shaped like a square and opens up to reveal a bar. We danced on the edges and the staff offered us shots. Absolute fun! The show itself is really amazing. Its very reminiscent of a Vegas show. Lots of acrobatic moves which push the edge of amazing. The performers also come thru the crowd and do some of their acts, so you will get a lot of views. Drinks are watered down, nothing spectacular but its great to have the option. My only advice - keep in mind, its a longggg event. We went about 9:30pm and got it with no issues. The show officially started around 11pm but by 3am, I was tired and left however, the event continued on until almost 4am. I usually part for awhile but theres so much going on, I was exhausted. Also, we had a table on the ground floor which does not provide seating. if you don't have the means to pay for a balcony table, wear comfortable shoes. You'll be standing for as long as you stay around. Additionally, from the ground floor, the views may not be ideal for the portions of the show that occur on the upper levels. Otherwise, I would highly and strongly recommend this event. I had such a great time and it remains one of the highlights of my birthday trip.

Yelp
Not even worth a star. $20 shots. Buy a bottle and sit. On the beach. Much better option

Yelp
The Coco Bongo recruiter literally wanted me so bad ,or so I thought. To my dismay, he was actually offering all the girls free rides to Coco Bongo in his shipping container....parts sold separately.

Yelp
Listen, I don't know what's up with the bad reviews, but I just came back from CocoBongo Playa Carmen and it was great! Don't be discouraged about the other bad reviews, look, here's the deal, regular admission will be on the lower floor and standing only, and longer to get in. Gold ticket (the one I bought) will put you on the express line in and straight to a reserved table balcony view. Worth it. Tip: try to be there at around 9:30-9:45pm, so you can get a good view of the stage. The music is fantastic, ALL TYPES, hip-hop, dance, 80's 90's, reggae, you name it. They play it. Nice variety. Now, try to remember your barman,(name and all) this is an open bar, try to avoid mixed drinks, they are much watered down, stay with the beer. Tip your barman who's bringing you the drinks, he will then bring you tequila shots. This guy kept bringing them in. Now for the show, there will be a countdown clock, you can't miss this spectacle. I'm from New York City, and I haven't seen a show like this before. Ever. They go through various years in music, this one started with the Beatles, going through Queen, Michael Jackson KISS and Moline Rouge. They had like a "300" spartan show and a Spider-Man show in the act. Beatlejuice show was funny too. The amount of confetti that is thrown during the whole show is insane. Now, some characters of the show will walk around with a photographer and snap a pic with you and guests, but in about an hour they will stop by with that photograph to try to sell it to you (framed) which will cost you $20 if you want to purchase it. Overall, I wouldn't miss this show for anything. Definitely would go again, and I heard the one in Cancun is even better! GO! You won't regret it. You'll have a blast.

Yelp
My friends and I are staying in Playa del Carmen in Mexico at the Riu Palace hotel. There was a promoter for coco bongo on the beach, and one of our friends was able to get a table for us with several bottles and chasers, as well as a ride to and from the club for $63 per person. When we got there, they put us in the VIP line. It took about 20-30 min to get in. When we got in, they placed us at a table with only two seats in front of the stage. I was so glad I was wearing flip flops because I was able to stay standing and dance. When we got there, there were dancers on the stage, and soon after those dancers finished their performance, there were acrobats!! I was not expecting a cirque du soleil type act at a club! Throughout the night, there were different themed acrobatics and dances such as game of thrones, 300, pirates of the Caribbean, queen, beetle juice, and more! Also, it's insanely humid in Mexico at this time, so every so often they'd blast the room full of super cold air that felt AMAZING! They'd shoot confetti every so often as well. When we were supposed to go home we went to where we were dropped off to find our driver had left. That was annoying, because we had to get 3 taxis back to the hotel for $8 per cab. Despite us not having enough seats and our driver not being there, we had an amazing time, because most of us were up and dancing anyway and the cab ride back was cheap. Would definitely come back here again!
google avatar

Trevor D.

Yelp
The price may seem steep, but as long as you get some drinks that are included with the ticket it is well worth it. Most of the acts and music were spectacular and the staff did a great job with wearing their masks. Arrive early because we were on the later end and the view wasn't great, I would think the VIP is worth the additional cost
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
Was very back and forth with my decision to come here, but happy I decided on yes. I came with 12 friends regular admission tickets and had a blast. I think it really depends on the person when it comes to enjoying Coco Bongo, because many reviews steered me away. Pros: -Unlimited drinkssss (I literally ordered shot after shot, the bars weren't ever too busy) -Great performances -Good view from higher up -Fun time. I remember smiling and dancing the whole time. Get on the bar. Get on the stage. Make the most out of your $70 ticket lol! Cons: -Expensive -ANNOYING check in process. They need to find a better way. It's just a mess. Takes forever and why do they take photos of our IDs and credit cards???? -Staff will drag you around to try and sell you a table...say no the first time..
google avatar

Yelp
The talent is so good, but the service is so bad. they "open bar" drinks are so horrible you can't drink them.

Yelp
Fun, unique, entertaining. Also loud, sticky, and crowded. Depends on where you end up sitting. We got tickets from the resort we were saying at - I imagine they have reps spread out at all over the area wooing tourists into an evening out. We took the bait. Whichever way you end up getting tickets, aim for VIP open bar. We skipped the line to get in (saved us 30 minutes, at least), got a table, and had open bar throughout the night. The view was awesome; everything happens at some level of elevation, so we didn't have to crane our necks up the whole night to see everything. When there was a pause, we sat, and when there was fun, there was room to dance. Should you not have those tickets...prepare for a line outside, a line inside, and a very crowded and hot floor level. Also, the floor level bar gets turned into a mini-stage at a few different points in the show, (TRON!) and having seats on an upper level gave us an absolutely fantastic view. If you were on the floor...probably less so. However, no matter where you sit or stand...it's absolutely packed. I'm not sure if there is a "fire code" here, but once you are in...you are in. Good luck trying to get out before the show is over, even if your only goal is to fin the bathroom. The show itself was great - the acts are a lot of fun, and each one is pretty different. Tron was, hands down, my absolute favorite, but there were a lot of others done quite well. There are plenty of random siren/smoke/confetti moments (usually when the beat drops) in between, serving as a lovely reminder that it was probably time to dance a little harder and drink a little more. It's worth going once, but I don't think the show changes much so it might get a little repetitive. Don't forget to get the $20 picture and take a few $5 test tube shots, because...that's just how Coco Bongo rolls.

Yelp
The show itself was great & entertaining place is small but ut is a good time. I just think they rip u off w/the prices. Its a open bar yet they come around every 10min tryna sell u shots for $5 usd or get ur picture taken for $20usd. If i didnt have to pay $140 usd for a seat maybeI woulda got a pic as a trinket to take home. But the experience is very fun thats 4star maybe 5 I only rated lower bc so small &they let too many ppl in ur cramed. To get to bathroom forget it that 10min tryna squeeze thru crowd Pictures are Very deceiving! Place is TINY inside. The $70ish price for ticket isnt bad bc u do have fun, get a good show, open bar.. but the space this place is is ridiculous. Its small as all hell inside if ur on the floor good luck. Ur literally shoulder/shoulder don't wear anything new or too nice bc u will get drinks spilled on u & or feet stepped on. Ladies DON'T wear heels bc ur standing entire time. Now if u wana table/chair ur squeezed in a small ass space but at least u can sit. But u have to buy a bottle which is ridiculous bc its open bar good thing is u CAN take bottle home w/u when u leave. The cheapest is $140 usd. So u paid $70 for ticket to get in then u have to pay additional for bottle great if ur in a group

Yelp
A very cool show! We had a table on the first floor which gave us a little space to dance. If not for the table the place looked pretty packed. It also came with a waiter which made drinks super easy, no hassle with the bar, well worth it! The show was a blast, somewhere between a mix of a show and a club. Great music, not to loud, awesome dancers, very well put together! They mixed in lots of different types of music along with lots of balloons and streamers, kept the place pumping!

Yelp
Violators. They told me to take my clothes off to show my boobs and I said no then they forced me on stage and blew my clothes off with a fan in front of hundreds of people. PREDATORS

Yelp
So my friend booked the Congo Tour bus for all of us as a group to have a memorable night together for the after-party for his wedding (probably around 20-30 people total), complete with VIP tickets. At first, I was a little hesitant to go, especially when we weren't going to leave until like 3am or so, especially after a long day with the wedding and everything! But I ended up deciding to go... I've looked online beforehand to see what it was like, and it really did not look like a nightclub that you'd see here in the U.S.! So I was pretty intrigue. That night, we boarded the bus to get to Playa del Carmen from our resort near Akumal. Took awhile to get there, but when we did. Wow, there were so many tour buses there and so many people!! So we followed our guide to the front and then they did bag-check and anything that we couldn't bring in, they'd put masking tape on it and make us write our name and then get it when we leave... I didn't know what wasn't allowed, so my keychain flashlight was taken from me and I had to get it back at the end. Which was kind of inconvenient. Wished we knew about it beforehand so that I wouldn't bring it in and just leave it on the bus. After that, we stood in line... FOREVER... I don't know what the hold up was. Maybe they couldn't let people in for some reason, or our area wasn't cleared or something? I'm not sure... But when we finally got in, wow, balloons and confetti EVERYWHERE! And SO many people too!! We held hands with each other so that we'd stick together and go to our designated VIP area. Once we got to our VIP area, on the 3rd floor, we stood and watched the shows going on. Now, this is the part that is COMPLETELY different from U.S. nightclubs. I really don't even consider Coco Bongo as a nightclub, other than the fact that it's opened at night and they serve alcohol and play some dance music. But the environment is COMPLETELY different! It's just a bunch of mini shows the entire night. From reenactments of music videos from known artists such as Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars, to Cirque du Soleil type shows, to super heroes fighting each other! It was insane!! My significant other's friend didn't want to stay the entire night because he had an early flight to catch the next day, and at first, my significant other didn't want to stay the entire night either, but in the end, we did, and I'm SO glad that we did! It was unlike any other experience we've ever experienced here in the U.S.! AND the bride ended up getting on stage too! As well as at least 1 other person in our party! (Yes, you can actually go up on stage and dance for a few minutes.) Pretty crazy! I think the main reason why I really enjoyed Coco Bongo was because we were on the top floor, so it wasn't as crazy and crowded as the main floor. And you were able to watch all the shows and everything clearly! So that was definitely a plus! If I were to come back again for a party, I'd definitely get VIP. So worth the price. Coco Bongo is something you'd have to experience at least once in your life! BUT get VIP tickets!!! Much better experience than down on the main floor!! Just don't expect it to be like a Vegas nightclub where you can dance and drink all night (heard the drinks weren't so great either, but I didn't partake in any drinking that night to have first-hand experiences with it), and you'll enjoy it more! :)

Yelp
DO NOT BUY your tickets online or get "Gold" tickets! Upset when we got there thinking we were suppose to be "skipping" the line only to find out those that bought tickets online (Even though they were gold) got shoved into the line with everyone else (because we had to get bracelets). This made us So late getting in so most of the is so called "front row" seats that we paid for were taken! We got led to the very top. Hard for us short people to see over the railing! The shot girls were annoying and wouldn't leave us alone. There wasn't much space between our chairs and the wall, so them being there really had is crammed up! Despite that, the show was still good. BUT they really need to revamp the whole show because not much has changed since I saw it 5 years ago....10 years ago...15 years ago!

Yelp
This place is amazing! The performances/club is unlike anything I've ever seen. It was so much fun. Pricey but worth it. Acrobatics/dancers/comedy/music, this is so much more than a dance club. Will definitely go again.

Yelp
5 out of 10. Hard to get drinks. Super packed inside and poor music system. Acts were ok but chopped up and phoned in. Cancun Coco Bongo is twice as good. Not worth the $80 per person. Sorry. Step it up a notch Coco B's

Yelp
We started out standing in line forever although we were promised immediate access. The club is extremely sexist and homophobic. My gay friend and I tried to dance and they wouldn't let him dance on stage because he was a "guy". Not only that... they were extremely rude to him. All of the bartenders were extremely rude to him too. Every table and area is "VIP" only so we could barely stand anywhere. It's a tourist trap for money. This club is not welcoming. Not accepting. Not kind. Not recommended.

Yelp
I have been to Coco Bongos a few times in a coule of different locations and this was by far my most favorite experience! The show was absolutely incredible from beginning to end. We had a great location by the stage and a nice sectioned off area where we were away from the larger crowds. We were lucky to have an AMAZING waiter who was really on top of everything and made our night that much better. His name was Yovani and I would definitely recommmend you request him when you go! Thank you Coco Bongos for an amazing show, thank you Yovani for your unforgettable service and thatnk you to the whole Coco Bongos team for a great night!

Yelp
NO MAXIMUM CAPACITY!! They will cram anybody who is willing to pay to come inside. Completely different from the Cancun experience. There is no standing room unless you want to pay another $50 on top of whatever you paid to have a seat. Literally was shoved against the main bar for about an hour before my bruised ribs had enough. No refund but they are willing to make you a reservation for the next couple of days. That's it. Go to the Cancun location, this one is too small and not worth it. Truly.

Yelp
Great show! Felt like the drinks were watered down because we didn't feel drunk after 7+ drinks. Our waiter Yovani was awesome and always there when we needed us and had a great personality! The crowd was kind of lame and didn't dance at all until the very end when they were "drunk". Also the camera man was creeping on any girls that were in little clothing. The dancers, performers, and acrobatics were very talented and they have so many different funny bits.

Yelp
Alright so my partner and i paid 80USD each to enter. It was general admission and it was packed. We couldn't even really enter the club but came with unlimited drinks which was alright. The show was one of the coolest experiences but Bc it was clearly oversold i wouldn't rate it higher than 3. People kept bumping into us we couldn't dance between segments etc.

Yelp
I did not know what to expect. I visited Cancun a couple of years ago and didn't get a chance to go. So on this trip I made it a point to check out Coco Bongo. The package included roundtrip transportation, admission and open bar. Price was $75. We had a ball. It reminds you of Vegas because of the theatrics and live shows. The performers really get into character and really shows you a good time. They make it interactive too with the crowd which is fun. My favorites were the LMFAO and Bruno Mars performances. The waitresses walk by every 5 minutes giving shots and refilling your drinks. Awesome time.

Yelp
We took my best friend here for her bachelorette party. It was nice. It's more of a snow versus a club. The entertainment was nice and very interactive. They let our group of 6 stand on the stage. They actually had one of our girls be a part of an act. I don't think it was worth $75 to stand up and not have a table... but maybe $50x

Yelp
My last day in playa de Carmen and I wanted to get some souvenirs for my friends. I didn't even go in this club I went to the gift shop of the club. This is the only place the whole time I was there that I used my credit card. I Bought two coco bingo caps. The guy picked up a credit card machine off the floor there are like 20 of them laying on the floor down there behind the desk. Of course he runs my card and then tells me that it's not working. I told him to try to again so he picked another machine up off the floor and tried it again. And then he said well the card is not working with this machine either. DO yOU WANT TO TRY A DIFFERENT CREDIT CARD? Yeah no thanks I think you already stoled enough information off the first one. So I just paid cash for the caps. We left that morning on our flight and all the way home I couldn't wait to get home and look at my credit card bill. Sure enough there was like 2000 $3000 worth of some bogus Rent-A-Car Company that doesn't exist. Do you know when you have a feeling you're being ripped off by some losers? I thought that when I was paying for the caps in cash. I wish I wouldn't given those people a penny of my money the thieves.

Yelp
So, I have to give this place a 1 Star. Recently visited this place, purchased tickets via 3rd party. We had our digital tickets available. Showed our digital tickets and was ask to present an ID, ok cool no problem. Myself and daughters presented and then staff proceeded to take pictures of our ID. Now, we were told it was because we didn't have a print out of tickets which was false, we were also told by the staff member that they get a lot of people using counterfeit tickets which the counterfeit part may or may not be true. However, we observed everyone else showing digital tickets and asked others if photos were taken of their ID and they said they were not even asked for an ID, hmmm. Now, we voiced our concern with this chick, behind the counter, who waved her hand and brushed us off after telling us it was policy. Spoke with another staff member who couldn't explain why ours were photographed with personal cell phone cameras and others were not. There are two issues I have with this, one is identity theft risks and just having all my personal info on someone's phone and the other is, the fact that majority of the patrons were not of color and as we observed were not having photos of their IDs taken, let along being asked for IDs definitely made me feel some kind of way as if I was being profiled in some sort of way. I contacted Viator and they even informed me that they were even unaware of these practices, Viator apologized and reached out to coco bongo and was told the cell phone was a company phone and our information would not be used for illegal purposes, lol, now would they actually admit that it would be? I've traveled all over the world, used 3rd parties to book tours, events, etc. never had my ID photographed. The show was cool but not worth the risk involved with what happens to a persons when their identity is stolen, these practices are unacceptable. Needless to say I spent the day crossing my Ts and dotting my Is with my personal info! If you travel here, do not hand over your ID to these folks. Let them see it through the glass and keep it moving!

Yelp
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! ITS A SCAM! We paid $800 for a table, bottle, and open bar.... How much of that did we get? None! Ariana, JJ, and Sebastian are amazing scam workers. They took advantage of the fact that we were Americans. They have a "No Refunds" policy so although the we didn't get a table, they made sure we didn't get our money back. Lesson learned: you might pay for something and never get it.

Yelp
The positive reviews must be fake because no person could possibly enjoy this squalid fire trap. We paid $113 through Sun Wing, our travel agency, for tickets and were provided with a voucher to exchange. Sunwing provided a voucher which we were to exchange with a representative, who failed to meet us at the agreed upon time, for actual tickets. This event was intended to be the big bachelorette night out and we ended up waiting for hours in three different lines dressed in our black cocktail dresses and heels and having altercations with the various Coco Bongo staff. We emailed our representative who told us to go drink (WHERE? WE'RE WAITING IN A LINE!!) We finally got in to a packed venue where surprise! there is no seating for this "show" which consists of mostly watching other tourists dance on platforms with less than 30 minutes of choreographed show. You will be packed in like sardines, and trampled and pushed around by everyone, including the staff. One of my toes was so badly squashed that it is now purple, nail and all. We literally couldn't move and stood under a fire exit (one for 4 different levels) because we felt so unsafe and uncomfortable. If there is ever a fire, most of the patrons would die! The actual choreographed show has zero artistic value. I am lucky enough to have attended many performances, (all of which costed less than $113 USD for a (seated) ticket: Wicked, Book of Mormon, Phantom of the Opera, Swan Lake and even Hamilton) and can now appreciate the artistic value, taste level and humanity that the arts bring to society. This is not art, it is trash. Coco Bongo is just another fixture of the rapey and exploitative tapestry that is prevalent across Playa Del Carmen and Cancun. Our travel agent is putting this disaster on SunWing, and suggesting we wait to hear back whether they'll make this right (it is now over one week later), but Talk of the Town/ SunWing provide the ultimate endorsement by recommending and selling Coco Bongo. This place survives off of people who trust these false recommendations. Stay the hell away!!

Yelp
Cannot say enough how much I enjoyed my evening at Coco Bongo. First, what a show! The acrobatics, the music, the entertainment was over the top delightful. Definitely need to come expecting to leave with your ears ringing and legs aching because it's impossible to sit through this show- every bit of you will want to get up and dance! We can expecting to hop around a little, but I never expected to get to run up on stage, dance with Beetlejuice, take shots in a congo line, or show up on a dance cam. Definitely crowded, super fun, and a great place to go if you're looking to dance and sing your heart out while enjoying a creative and fun compilation of all broadway greats!

Yelp
$300 for 2 people Goldmember for half a seat at a small table. You literally have to sit on top of each other. The drinks were good for the premium price. I had been to a Congo bongo in Cancun and recall there was a dance floor. This one had no dance floor and it was basically watching various acts and shows. It was somewhat entertaining but we were really wanting to go out dancing. For $300 I would expect more room, but you are literally squeezed in like sardines. Don't regret experiencing it but certainly wouldn't do it again. Also be aware the girls walking around offering shots of tequila even though you could drink tequila all you wanted that is included in the price if you take a shot from them you find out it's five dollars or 100 pesos. I thought that was pretty cheesy.
