Coco Loco Lodge Hotel Bungalows

Great and comfortable stay with friends. Clean rooms with multiple luxuries and friendly staff. Liked · The hotel is located 1 block away from the city. The hotel area is nicely decorated with plants and walkways. The small wildlife is neatly integrated in the garden. The rooms are made comfortable with a clean bathroom and mosquito nets. The staff was very helpful and facilities very accessible. Disliked · Due to the current crisis they couldn't serve breakfast, which should have been communicated directly after the booking.

Good service, nice, clean and large room. Pool is clean. Location is really close to the beach and the center but far enough to have a quite night. We did not have airconditioning but was still fine. Breakfast had good and different options (eggs, fruits, porridge...)

Great place to stay! Super kid friendly, with a nice pool and a playground! The breakfast every morning is fantastic and fresh. The staff is super helpful, my daughter absolutely loved Debra! Very clean and well kept. And close to town. It’s everything you would want!

This place was absolutely amazing. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable breakfast was always ready with a smile! I couldn't have ask for anything better in my stay. Deborah was helpful in booking adventures for us and gave us options and information on each place. Will definitely be staying there on every trip we take!!!

I don’t know if I can put into words how much I loved this place. First of all, it was beautiful and super conveniently located for our trip! Not to mention, wildly affordable for our stay. However, what makes this place a MUST STAY - is the STAFF. I feel like I’m leaving behind family by going back home. They were so hospitable and they helped us book all kinds of fun activities for our stay. Sonya, Debora and plenty of others that I wish I had caught the name of helped make this the trip of a lifetime for me and my friend. I’d come all the way back to Puerto Viejo just to stay here again. Thank you Coco Loco for everything this last week and Pura Vida!!

Great location within Puerto Viejo. Town and beach close by. Our stay was shortened due to bats in cabin 11. Stayed two nights, slept with lights on and attempted to get the bats outside as they flew around inside. Thankfully we were refunded for the unused days. However, once we acknowledged the bats, we didn’t feel welcomed. We asked to be moved to a different room, we were told there weren’t other rooms available. While we were checking out, we watch two gentlemen walk off the street looking for a place; which was available. Also while at breakfast, someone dropped of a shop vac on the porch as if they were going to clean up the mess from the bats inside. We showed the manager the mess from the bats and she rubbed it off as lizard feces. Unfortunate stay at Coco Loco. Yes, bats are in the jungle, however shouldn’t be in the rooms.

Terrible experience, due to unclean condition of the rooms. Several cockroaches in the bedroom and bathroom, toilet didn’t flush, strong smell of mold, personnel unwilling to help. The owner just laughed when I confronted her and was very unfriendly. I’ve been to many hotels in Costa Rica and never made such a bad overall experience. Checked out the next day. Stay away from this place. Read several reviews that also claim the cockroach issue in this hotel.

Beautiful piece of paradise, the cabins are beautiful, clean and rustic. Fans to keep you cool. There is ac in a few cabins but we have found it not necessary. The bathroom has a working shower and is great to cool down in after a hot day. We found for us in cabin 10 we had no issues with mosquitoes in February. We got to see lots of geckos, iguanas, sloths and land crabs and butterflies around the area. Listening to the birds and howler monkeys were fabulous. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. You can tell the owner puts a lot of love into this place. Has a wonderful pool, playground for the kids. Buffett breakfast that is very reasonably priced. An amazing on site masseuse. The staff is amazing and the owner Sabine (hope I spelt that right) is very friendly, hard working and very helpful. I would come back in a heart beat. We spent 2 weeks here the only thing i would say that would have topped it off is a Watercooler in the cabins. But there is one in the main building and there are a few shops down the road to get some. I read some people didn't like the houses that were located close by. They are locals homes and everyone we have met on our way into town has been very friendly we have felt safe. You get a true authentic experience of Puerto veijo.
