Coco-Mat Eco Residences Serifos

Without exaggeration, this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had across years of summer trips to the Greek islands. The property is far past its prime and seems poorly run. Breakfast was notably bad—limited, low‑quality items served in a dirty space with flies constantly present. Housekeeping was absent: during my stay the room was not cleaned at all, and fresh towels were not provided unless we repeatedly chased staff. The online gallery sets unrealistic expectations. The rooms look modern and well cared‑for there, but in person they are old, tired, and neglected, with maintenance seemingly deferred for far too long. Price is the final insult. Rates are set as if this were a renovated, competently managed property; anyone can see how high they are by checking availability on major booking sites. The gap between presentation, delivery, and cost made the stay feel, in my opinion, like a scam. Until there is a full renovation and a serious reset in management and cleanliness standards, I strongly recommend avoiding this property. August 2025

A fantastic experience and the best place to stay in Serifos. Gorgeous rooms with a wonderful staff, right on the water. We have been twice and hope to go again. The staff couldn’t be warmer and more helpful, the meals are lovely.

The Cocomat hotel was a perfect place for our vacaiton. THe maisonette was well appointed and comfortable. It's proximity to the beach was perfect. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend and hope to be able to visit again soon.

This was my fourth visit to Serifos to stay at Coco - mat and the hotel is better than ever. The room I had was so comfortable. The beds, sheets and pillows are superb. The view from my terrace is something that I often think about when I am not there. Its perfect. No other buildings in sight and that perfect clear blue sea. |The staff this year, led by the wonderful Costas were so nice to all of us and took such good care. We all want to come back next year. I stayed a few days at the Eco nature hotel coco mat recently opened on the island and that was really peaceful and beautiful too. This is the dreamiest hotel! Its like being on another, nicer planet where the decor is spare but perfect for the environment, the beds super comfy, the air-conditioning strong if and when needed, the food and drinks all excellent. Plus a fantastic staff. The beach is long and sparsely populated, and the water simply delicious. But don't forget your tevas or other beach shoes, as getting in over the rounded stones can be difficult without. Because of the lack of a sandy beach, the water is even more crystal clear. And if you walk way down to either the left end (farther) or the right end (close), getting in is much easier. Did I mention that your comfy sunbeds and umbrella has a call button for bar service? And a chilled carafe of water will arrive within moments of you setting up camp for a blissful afternoon. Manoli's Taverna at Psili Ammos is awesome, btw.

One of the best locations on the island and the beach set up with the loungers is amazing. Authentic feeling accommodation and very comfortable. Food and cocktails were great, and standard pricing for hotel restaurants. Good selection for breakfast.

We spent every morning at coco mat in Serifos to have breakfast as outside guests. The breakfast was fantastic - they had plenty of different dishes, so that everyone can find what they like. The hotel manager and all staff members were beyond amazing - always very attentive, courteous, friendly and in a good mood. The hotel is located with a direct view on the beautiful bay and has a great atmosphere. We would love to come back soon!

I had a disappointing experience during my recent stay at this hotel in Serifos. My originally planned 3-night stay was cut short to just 2 nights due to the subpar amenities and services. The first impression was disheartening as the check-in process demanded full payment upfront, leaving no room for trust. The most unpleasant aspect of the stay was the unbearable stench that lingered in the toilets and bathroom. It seemed that poor construction led to water accumulation in the shower, creating a breeding ground for the foul smell. This issue not only affected the comfort of the stay but also raised concerns about hygiene. To make matters worse, the service provided by the hotel employees was far from satisfactory. Their lack of professionalism and willingness to address the problems added to the frustration. It was clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority for them. Overall, my experience at this hotel in Serifos was extremely disappointing. The combination of the foul smell in the bathroom, the problematic check-in process, and the indifferent attitude of the hotel staff led me to check out a day earlier than planned. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and pleasant stay.
